Before forming the Mag Force 7 team, Xris had been a government agent, set up on false charges, and sent to a prison planet, where he is blackmailed into helping leaders of the Hung, a galaxy-wide crime organization, escape, but Xris wants to find out why he is actually there. Original.

In 2002, she was inducted into the Origins Hall of Fame in part for Dragonlance.
A sci-fi book by one of my favorite fantasy authors? Yes, please! This was the third in a trilogy (I’ve only ever read the second book so far) about the Mag Force 7 team, a crack team of unique specialists who handle all sorts of mercenary-ish work throughout the galaxy. At nearly 400 pages, this never dragged on or felt slow or boring. I loved the mix of action and character study. And the characters! All very different from each other as well as from characters in similar books. Obviously, the leader was my favorite—a grumpy ex-Intelligence officer turned into a cyborg after being injured in a gang-related explosion. While it had a great ending, I’m glad that I still have the first book to read along with another series set in the same universe.
This book is part of a series I haven't read, but stands alone OK. I won't read other books in the series. The story was somewhat gripping but I was put off by the silliness of some of the characters, like the stereotypical drag queen who was constantly primping and fainting at the sight of a poorly assembled outfit, and the ace pilot who was trusted in spite of the fact that he couldn't seem to follow orders or comprehend the purpose of the operation.
Just a fun book with enjoyable characters. This was a return to the same form as Book 1. The plot was a bit thin in places especially regarding how the supposedly all-powerful crime bosses were completely beat up in prison. Still a fun read... kind of like a popcorn flick.
For scienc fiction fans who occasionally like a bit of humor, this is is a good, quick easy read. The characters are all steroetypes, deliberately and the authors have fun with the stereotypes. No eathshaking events here--it's all been done before but a quick and painless way to sepnd an enjoyable few hours. I am planning on eventaully reading the other books in the series.
The continuing adventures of Mag Force 7 with Xris the cyborg and his friends. I like the book, it was fun. There were parts where it felt a little dragging and didn't move as quickly as some of the earlier stories, but it was a great novel visiting characters that I really like. If you are interested in science fiction and adventure, this is one I can recommend.
