This is a book about four people who have changed history because of their determination. Lance Armstrong beat cancer and won the world’s most famous bike race three times in a row. Aung San Suu Kyi fights for democracy and to free her people from oppression in her homeland of Myanmar. Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player in the major-league. Eleanor Roosevelt was an amazing First Lady who fought for equal rights of women and minorities.

This is a great informative book as it focuses on four people not just one. It has many text features that help students understand the message of the text. Also, the photographs of each person are great and help explain each person's life.

One great quote from this book is “The government, which disapproved of Suu’s political activities, put her under house arrest and cut her phone lines.”

One book that would pair great with this book is “Baseball Saved Us” by Ken Mochizuki as it relates to Jackie Robinson’s story.
