Jade Crew: Haunted Bear
Cole Lovac is on a short leash, and he knows it. Having already messed up his first chance in Genesis Valley, his only hope is to show that he's a worthwhile member of the Ridgebacks. That means no fighting, no distractions, and listening to his Alpha. And it definitely means don't let a downward spiral of destruction mess up his only chance with the strong, gorgeous and slightly shy woman he's come to care for. Amazing 2nd story
This is the second story of this series and it was really good 👍! I had read story one a while ago so it took me a bit to really get back in to the second story. I'm glad I finally got back to this series and NOW I will just 🌟 start #3!

I really enjoyed this story. The twists and turns were just enough to keep my interest flowing and me wanting to read way into the night.

Amelia has out done herself. Jade Crew: Haunted Bear Book 2 couldn't be any better. The story-line is exciting, frustrating and scary. The plot is tremendous and building towards the end. I loved the characters, once again their personalities were right on for their parts.
It is exciting to see that, slowly the two separate crews which were pulled into one are beginning to make changes to become a cohesive team and family.
Cole a Jade crew bear has such difficulties with communication and when he tries he usually turns his words around and screws it all up. Then the frustration and anger hits and he's looking for a fight.
Trestin is a waitress of the only small diner in the city of Origin. Trestin has as many problems as Cole does. If she feels pressed, cornered, or hurried in any way she has a panic attack and usually runs away from the situation not to go back. Things have to go her way, her timing, and at her speed. It's why she left the city for the small town of Origin. Though Trestin never seems to have these problems at work.
Cole came in for lunch and during the time it took to get water and his meal ordered Trestin started flirting with him and Cole flirted back, lightly as he was unsure of himself. As soon as Trestin brought Cole's water she sat right down at his tabled and poured them both a glass of water. Cole looking at her strangely. Trestin said I'm off work so I thought I'd have lunch with you. This is something she would never had done at any time in her life.
As they eat lunch Trestin discovered Cole was out to buy a gift for his Alpha's mate and the mate happened to be a friend of hers. Cole had no idea what to get so he invited her to help him shop and then he'd buy her dinner and take her home. This is when they had their first kiss and Cole went a bit further and Trestin stopped him in his tracks, kicked him off her property and told him not to come back. Cole's temper got the better of him and he made quite a scene with his truck as he attempted to leave. Suddenly he flipped a u-turn skidding all over the gravel and went back to Trestin's trailer. He got out and made a very sincere apology
Cole did not push Trestin but she pushed him right back to his truck and home with her along. After several passionate interludes They fell asleep. Cole had a nightmare and jerked awake and told Trestin to go home, to get out now and go home. That was it for Trestin. Cole would be turned in for harassment if she ever saw him again.
Cole couldn't let that happen with regards to his constant records of fighting and not following his Alpha's directions, so he stayed away from her. If he didn't It was very likely that he would be ended.
Cole became angry he lost control of his bear for 2-3 hours and ended up caught on another clans territory. Penalty being ended.
Cole was taken into custody. He was faced with his impending death. At the trial the records were read, the witnesses gave their account. Marcus Keyden took all into consideration. Punishment was quickly given. Cole was lead outside to the area where ending was given. Cole would not beg or ask for mercy. He deserved this and would take it with honor. Cole bent down on his knees and laid his head on the block while Marcus backed up to shift into his gargoyle shape. Suddenly someone yelled NO from the back.
I left out fight's, more steamy passion and death unknown. Pick up a copy, you'll like it.

Jade Crew: Haunted Bear deserves 4.5 stars and a WOW!
Bear shifter Cole Lovac past was never sunshine or roses. Present day, his difficult past still causes problems in Genesis Valley. He is down to his last straw with his job and a possible mate. He has a hard task of controlling his bear. What does the future hold for them.
The heroine of this tale is a human female called Trestin Cooke. She likes to take her time doing things. Read to find out what's her role in this story. Will she learn that time is something that Cole doesn't have much left?
I finished reading the story with a smile. Amelia Jade did a great job with writing this. I found it to be a fun and exciting to read. I was caught up in the truly original storyline. Readers get a romance with suspense and drama. The story was great. The main characters' miscommunication was causing major problems in their lives. The story setting was realistic. I could imagine Cole and Trestin first kiss or Trestin's timely intervention at Cole's trial. The chemistry between Cole and Trestin was hot. Read to find out what happens when Cole sleeps at night. Will he have his own HEA?
I finished the story in one sitting. This is an author that I would always look forward to reading more of her books. I received this for an honest review. I love Amelia Jade’s books. This is the second book in the series and though reading the first book will help you know more about the story and the characters I believe this book will do fine as a standalone.
I actually got a little emotional reading this book. Shed a few tears. Though we did not read to much into Trestin’s past we know she was damaged. She had fears and needed to take things slow. So to be the mate chosen for Cole I think she was perfect.
Cole had so many mental scars and to to think he has carried this burden alone for so lone is heart breaking. He would rip his bed and sheets up when having nightmares. He never wanted to hurt anyone. He felt he could not trust this bear. His bear seemed to come out and attack when he was angry or threaten.
Cole and Trestin got through so much. I am amazed at the strength Cole shows. He has to face something the he has feared for so long and he faces it with courage. Sorry need to read the book to find out what that is.
Reading this story I often thought about Cole’s Alpha Garrett. He knew Cole was struggling. He knew he was going through something. Cole never seemed to want to tell him what was going on. So Garrett could not help him or offer him advice. Garrett became hopeful when Cole found his mate but that was soon smashed.
Will Cole be able to get his act together? Can Cole and Tristin work out everything between them?

Book 2 of the Ridgeback clan of Genesis Valley. Genesis Valley is a mining town ran by a pair of gryphon brothers. If you are here you are pretty much on your last chance before your ended, and the gryphon brothers are the judge, jury, and executioner s.
This book is the story of Cole and Trestin. Cole is a member of the new clan the Ridgeback, they are the rements of two other clans that the gryphons had to put down for harming humans. Being new they are having problems enough without Coles personal past haunting him and causing him problems. Seems the only peaceful thing in his life was Trestin and he screwed that up. You don't make love to a woman than kick her out in the middle of the night without hard feelings. However Cole couldn't take the chance he couldn't so he kicked her out. Now 3 months has passed and he is loosing control completely, his bear is taking over it will not be controlled and he fights everything and everybody. This leads him to stand trial and be sentenced by the gryphons. Now Trestin has kept her secrets to herself for a long time, she might of shared with Cole if things had been different, now she learns of his trial and death sentence, can her secret be enough to spare Cole and earn him one more chance?

I love those Ridgeback Bears, also known as the Jade Crew. These are shifters that are miners, but the ones that are there have had difficulties somewhere along the way, and this is their last chance. Cole is one of those bear shifters that has a problem controlling his bear. Stemming from an incident in his childhood when he had been tortured, he now has dreams about that time and while he sleeps he partially shifts and tear his mattress, sheets, and blankets up with his claws. Then one day he meets Trestin, a human waitress at a restaurant in town. They are immediately attracted to each other. I do not want to give anything away, so I will tell you that after their first time having sex, Cole kicks Trestin out, because he is scared that he will kill her in his sleep. From there, a wonderful story enfolds. The books that are part of the Jaded Crew series can be read as standalones, but I recommend reading them both, because they are both so good. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I can't wait to read more from the Jade Crew.

She is around a lot of shifters, but she has never been friends with one or dated one, as they are always so intimidating. Cole is different though, or so she thought until the night they have sex and then he sends her away. She knew she shouldn't have trusted him.

This fascinating story about Cole (who is haunted by nightmares and fear his bear hurting someone) and Tristin meeting over getting his Allah's mate a birthday gift. He knows she is his mate but is afraid to claim her because of his past.
The different storyline is an interesting one. There are more characters but the same humorous bent and fascinating mystery unfolds. One mystery is somewhat solved but leaves the question of "why and who" is behind the troubles that Jade Crew are having. A must read. I can't help myself, on to the next book by this author. Thanks for a great book.

I find after reading both Jade Crew books today that I want another one. Amelia has found a way to keep me guessing about what's wrong with the Bear/Men in these books. I like that. I would like to slap Evan upside his head tho. Can't wait to see if she puts Gwen with him. Guess I'm going to have to wait. If you like strong men with women who find out one way or the other that they are strong too. Read these books. I will be waiting for the next one.

When an accidental meeting turns into a surprised date the same day one can only wonder what it means. When the bear shifter has issues to deal with can anything good come from his life? When his mate has issues of her own to deal with what are the odds of them getting their HEA? This is a great second book to the Jade Crew series! Absolutely loved Cole and Trestin's story and the chemistry that they had together. So looking for to the next one and to find out who is next in the jade crew to find a mate. Love that the mates aren't helpless damsels in distress but strong independent women that can put a bear in its place lol.

This book was so good I read it in one sitting. Cole and Trestin were so entertaining. Especially with all the sexual tension that they were trying to deny. They each had issues from when they were younger, but they finally had someone worth trying to get past them so that they could be happy.

Cole and Trestin both have troubled pasts but Cole's could have serious outcomes.
This was an enjoyable read that made me want to knock some heads together, then get out the tissues.
Cole's inability to explain to Trestin about his past causes heartbreak for Trestin and nearly causes his ending.

Haunted by his traumatic childhood, bear shifter Cole Lovac has a hard time controlling his bear. After dealing with panic attacks in the busy city, Trestin Cooke moved to Origin for a quieter life. One conversation pushes the two to realize they need to work on their problems. When Cole is out of strikes, will Trestin be able to save him one more time? Will Cole be able to work out a way to control his bear?
LOVED Haunted Bear! Cole broke my heart. He wanted so bad to fix his problems and I was sooo happy when he finally discovered how to work towards a better future for them all. I was happy that Trestin stepped up to the plate and was willing to forgive as long as he was willing to put in the work! Great book and can't wait to read the next!
