This book is excruciatingly hot ! I just can't believe how awesome it turned out to be. Also this reminded me of Fifty Shades of Grey but it was more intense and engaging. Ethan is pursuing his dream of being an FBI agent while he goes to Las Vegas and meets Maxmillian, a man who has secrets and is hot as hell. The two are pulled to each other like moths to a flame. I admired Tricia Owens for building up the heat between them greatly. Ethan is gay, yet he has many layers of his thought to ponder after Max invaded his life. It felt so real !
"You know what you desire, but you are afraid to accept it. Surrendering to another man may be one of the most frightening experiences of your life. But I promise you—" he kissed his way up Ethan's jaw line and over his chin, "— I will make it the most rewarding."
The writing is very easy to enjoy. I want to know what direction this story will go. Maxmillian is a dom. I know there must be issues chasing after their relationship in the next books for sure and can't wait to see it happens.

Even free, my time was worth more than reading this book.
Superficial characterization, plays BDSM buzzword bingo, uninspiring sex scenes, and professional incompetence all pushed this to a two star rating. Unfortunately, the ending and some ridiculous quotes pushed this to one star.
Seeing as the glitterkink "Dom" is 100% responsible for the sub's plight, this was the last straw of my patience.

March 2022 re-read
I decided to read this again because I am reading book 6 (I think) and it made references to when Max and Ethan met that I didn't remember. I still can't believe Ethan was going to be in the fbi. he's so meek and blushes and naive. He isn't confident enough, and I still don't exactly see what Max likes about Ethan. But this still worked for me, which makes me question things about myself, haha. Now back to book 6, or whatever # I'm at.

This is my 2nd read and I enjoyed this time just as much as the first. I really enjoyed Max and Ethan; they are a great pair. Jonathan is an ass, but there has to be a villain, right? Poor Ethan. His dream of joining the FBI is gone, which sucks big time. I know that Ethan is hurting and bitter about what happened, but he has oh so much to look forward to with Max and Elite Poole. I can't wait to get started with book 2 and then continue the series. Tricia Owens is a great writer and this series is just another notch in her writer's bed post. :)
The sex! Whew! The sex was off the charts HOT. These guys are burning up the sheets, the bathtub, the wall, the balcony railing. You name the place, they are ready and willing. Now, this book does have a plot and great characters, but there is also A LOT of sex. For those that don't like a lot of sex in their stories, this many not be for you. But I suggest you give it a try anyway because the characters are so good!
The ending. It's not a cliffhanger. But it's obvious this is just the beginning. And I am soooo looking forward to finding out what happens with these two. I have a feeling we've not seen the last of Jonathan.

O-M/M-G!!
Ethan's always known he's got a bit of a masochistic streak in him, he just didn't realize how wide or deep it went until he meets Maxmillian Poole at a convention in Las Vegas.
Max is all about control and self-denial, especially since his last relationship ended so messily...until he meets Ethan.
Dom of Las Vegas definitely wasn't a traditional romance. Before he gets together with Max, Ethan is a bit of a slut. When he's not having super-hot encounters with casual acquaintances, he's busy masturbating to super-hot fantasies...and I gotta say, wow, Tricia Owens sure knows how to write some sexy smut. And even better, her characters have some real depth to them. Usually I have a pretty hard time believing in masochistic submissives, but not so with Ethan; his sexuality came across as completely authentic to me.
If I'm implying that this book is only about sex, I apologize. Both the characters and the plot were intricate and well-crafted - it was a win/win all around.
Unfortunately, the relationship between Max and Ethan doesn't really start picking up until nearer the end of the story. I was happy to see that book 2 will continue to build on that though- I can only imagine all the kinky stuff they're going to get up to. ;)

Honestly, Nick J. Russo's delicious delivery is all that moved the rating from above the just under 3-star range. There were too many bad BDSM practices here for me to rate it higher...and also, while I don't approve of someone's sexual orientation being a disqualifying factor for a job opportunity (which it's not supposed to be), Ethan KNEW that he needed to be above reproach to get a chance at the FBI. Something tells me that even if it had been a straight man caught on camera having sex in public then they'd have been shut out as well. It doesn't show circumspection, self-control or good judgment.
If NJR narrates the next one I'll still give it a chance to see if the sex gets more SSC; I also want to see how Ethan handles himself working for Max...I liked that last bit of introspection where he worried that his submission would be interpreted as weakness.

I love the characters of Max and Ethan. There was humor in this story and the sexual tension between the two MCs was very hot. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

This book has a lot going for it, I liked both the main characters Ethan and Max and the sexual tension between them is really good, it builds slowly and is held simmering and crackling making you want more. Unfortunately the book is not without its problems it's a little far-fetched and implausible and there's way more grammatical errors than I would have expected, now I'm not particularly fussy when it comes to these but it does disrupt the flow.
Ethan Winters has always wanted to be in the FBI and everything he's done is aimed towards this goal. He's done two years in the Air Force and he graduates from community college in a few weeks where he's done four years to get his B.S. in criminal justice, he works for a small town private investigators to keep him in the right field and he models to supplement his income.
At a security conference in Las Vegas Ethan meets the most amazingly handsome man Macmillan Poole and the attraction between them is instant, on the surface Max is everything that Ethan wants but apart from the fact that he's totally unobtainable he comes with a lot of baggage and some of which isn't very nice.
Right, that's all you'll get from me since I don't want to spoil this for you, like I said its implausible and you'll most likely be shaking our head at times but the characters and the attraction between them is great and if the writing was tightened up and a few changes made this could be a fabulous read.
Despite its problems I did enjoy this and I'm not ruling out reading the second book 'Limited Liability' since its on KU.

Ethan is a country boy from Indiana who has dreamed of and done everything possible to ensure his best chances at being accepted into the FBI. All he has to do at this point is graduate college. In the meantime, he works for a small private investigation company. Things take a turn after he takes a business trip to a security seminar weekend in Las Vegas.
Maxmillian (Max) is the owner of The Elite Poole, a high end security firm that provides skilled eye candy as bodyguards to the stars, etc. He is focused and driven on his work and company, enduring a self-imposed bout of celibacy after a previously failed relationship. That all takes a turn when he meets Ethan.
Ethan stirs something in Max he thought he’d never find. His submissiveness is perfect for Max and the two share an extreme amount of chemistry. He’s also skilled, capable and good looking. Everything Max looks for when hiring agents. Once he sets his mind on having Ethan, both in his bed and his company, he tries to convince Ethan to join him. But Ethan is set on the FBI. They reach an agreement that if Ethan is turned down by the FBI, he will join Max in Las Vegas.
This story pulled me in right away. I loved Ethan, and I loved Max. They are total opposites in so many ways and really are perfect for each other. I loved that Ethan stood his ground and didn’t give in to Max at every turn, even though his body wanted differently. This isn’t BDSM in the normal sense – there are no dungeons, set scenes, etc. But they do have distinct roles – Max wants to own Ethan body and soul, be his master in all things. Ethan has extreme submissive tendencies, yet is very inexperienced in that area. It was refreshing to read this type of dynamic, and the two really did complement each other.
It was a fast read that was never dull or boring, and it left me longing to jump right into the next one. I’m really looking forward to seeing where these guys go from here and how long it will take for Ethan to really crack Max’s shell.
Review – Audio: This became one of my favorite series. I fell in love with Ethan and Max right away and gobbled up every book after this one. So, when I saw it was on audio, I had to grab it.
The previous audio I listened to was also narrated by Mr. Russo, so I was a tiny bit concerned that I would have trouble hearing the same voice for different characters. I needn’t have worried a bit! Mr. Russo puts a new voice to Ethan and Max, and the other characters as well, so that I never once felt as though I was listening to a continuation of the previous story. He has a very easy voice to listen to – it’s almost comforting. I’m a bit late to this party, but I’m definitely a fan now and wouldn’t hesitate to choose one of his narrations. I sure hope he continues with the rest of this series, as I’m ready to hear the rest of the story as eagerly as I did reading it the first time.

I'm not sure what to say about this. Everything is just slightly off. I liked Ethan, though he's very naive and I'm not sure I understand him. I liked Max but it's very cold and robotic. It's supposed to be "mysterious" and "magnetic" but it falls short IMO. I liked Ethan's boss and co-worker. I wish we'd gotten to see more of Max's life outside of Ethan. I didn't particularly like the randomness of all the set up for their relationship. Max is a PI but wants to join the FBI but also models. I HATE the way the FBI is ripped from him. I would've preferred seeing him get in and Max having to put on his big boy pants and DEAL WITH IT. I really dislike how Max treats Ethan regarding the arrangement. I don't get why Ethan is just going with it. I do think they had good chemistry. When it was just them in a scene, I enjoyed it. They had good rapport and chemistry. I don't know if I'll continue the series or not. I'm interested but kind of dread it at the same time.

I have been reading BDSM romances for many years now and enjoy, depending on the author's writing style, quite a bit of kinkery, ranging from pain play to sugar kink, to strong sado-masochism, humiliation and fetish play. However, one thing I do NOT care for in kinky books, no matter if it's soft or hardcore, is face slapping, especially not as brutal as it's done here. There's nothing erotic to this and IMO the dom, Max, was clearly exploiting Ethan's, the sub's, newfound masochistic tendencies. Also, Max seems to be a mind reader where Ethan's sexual predilections are concerned and apparently has never heard of "the talk" and safe sane and consensual before severely restricting the sub's movement. DNF

There were parts of this book I enjoyed and other parts I found myself frustrated. The characters had a certain element of chemistry but I almost didn't buy it ! The fact that there are 9 books in the series leads me to think it could continue to build or perhaps it's best to stop now ? I'm a little undecided on this one

Yeah no this was not for me. One star feels generous but it was actually quite hot. So there's that.

Three stars but if I could give hotness stars I would definitely go up to four. Plus Nick J. Russo was absolutely fantastic. Super fun and easy story.

Warning: There are two on-page sex scenes between OM. It's between Ethan and his hookups. But, our MC's hadn't been in a relationship just yet. Fortunately, I can let this go. Dismissed.

The book was short so this will be a short review. =]
I'm not a huge fan of the Dom and Sub scene, but I have been dabbing my hand into these types of stories a lot more often lately. So obviously something keeps bringing me back to this genre, but I'm pretty sure it's the character's in the books because the majority of the kink really doesn't do it for me.
As for these characters; Max really intrigues me and has so many walls I'm sure it's going to take all ten books in this series for Ethan to knock them down. He's quite the loner and seems to OK with it. So I'm very interested to see how his character grows.
Ethan... well I didn't really care for him. He's an OK character, it's just he really doesn't have any depth and comes off pretty weak. He lets his sex drive control him and I really don't care how he just rolls over and does whatever for whoever just to get his dick stroked. I'm not a fan of weak characters so it might take a while for me to warm up to him if ever.
I started this so I must finish it. So even if I end up not liking most of the stories I will finish the series. It's the book OCD in me. LOL

Sorry.... I think this is a case of its-me-not-you. I just didn’t click with the writing style. I suppose I am rather particular about an author’s writing style. I don’t do well when an author paints a character that’s overly cocky. I like my characters flawed and humble and human. I usually drop books like that in a heart beat. The fact that I stayed until 62% is an anomaly for me. I guess I was just trying so hard to like it. I feel miserable 😖

4 stars. Hot damn! *clutches pearls* Woo! That was...something. Goodness gracious. This definitely should've been longer.
I liked the writing enough, it was easy to get through and the pacing was pretty decent. I loved the Vegas setting and the characters were interesting.
The smut, tho? That *clap* smut *clap* tho?
The smut is.on.point. Like, really freaking good. I needed a cigarette after reading this.
Max is a filthy, filthy bastard with a filthy mouth and I absolutely love him! From the moment he's introduced I was just as intrigued by him as Ethan was. He had a very interesting thing going on with him but he's a Dom through and through. I think he's probably one of the hottest and filthiest talking Doms I've come across thus far.
Ethan is the cutest thing ever! I like that he was a badass and could take down people and he wanted to work for the FBI. He was a great and witty character with a good head on his shoulders. I loved his determination and his humor. He and Max are just so perfect together. Ugh, I need the next book and I'm kinda salty that this was not even 200pgs. I wish the first and second books had been combined into one but that's just me being greedy.
Overall, I'd re-read this in a heartbeat. It was quick and fun and dirty. No complaints from me.

***Audiobook***Narrated by Nick J. Russo***I really enjoyed this one! I honestly don't think I would have picked up this book on my own, but Nick Russo is an auto-buy for me. I will listen to just about anything he narrates :) And this one turned out to be surprising good! A small town boy from Indiana, a high roller from Las Vegas, some undeniable sexual chemistry, and this series is off to a great start. I definitely plan to continue...

Rating is based on the entire series (books 1-10 thus far) rather than each one individually.
Loved the series. Loved Max and Ethan. Loved the D/s relationship they've built. Loved them individually and as a couple. Yeah, loved the whole fucking enchilada.

Ethan is working hard to get accepted to the FBI. Having went to the military right out of high school, he's slightly older than the average college student and also working at a PI firm (and a part time model). Everything is right on track for him to accomplish his dream of making it to Quantico.
His boss surprises him with the opportunity to go on a work trip to Vegas which he is super excited about (but loses some of his excitement when he learns that he'll have to foot most of his own expenses). I have so many problems with this book. First, the title. I like the original title "doms of las vegas" is sooo much better, and this cover sucks! The cover on itunes is so much better and luring. And second, i was so bored reading that even when the sex came, i was still bored. Nothing grabbed me. It should have begun differently. With a sex scene or anything other than 3 guy in an office complaining about not having enough money and who ate who's food from the fridge. 1 boring-star.

It's a matter of taste and preference...
The beginning of this book was mundane, slow and filled with sentences that were too long. This type of storyline would probably read better with simple and short sentences rather than endless lines connected by semicolons and numerous commas. The BDSM scenes were rather abruptly deep and dangerously sadistic/masochistic for a newbie such as Ethan who was only just realizing his submissive characteristics, therefore shocking.
I didn't like it. Timing of his attraction (Ethan's) as well as how quickly Max decided he needed Ethan in his life weren't realistic. Also, the writer seemed too eager to plunge her mcs into instantly recognizing each other's deepest and darkest desires, which, again, isn't realistic. Judging by the ecstatic positive reviews, there are readers who don't seem to care about accuracy much when it comes to sex. The dirtier and more explicit the better? Yuck. Besides, if Max actually had genitals that were as LARGE as Ms. Owens described, Ethan would have been bleeding out and unable to walk after their bathtub scene. He could even have disemboweled Ethan. Her scenes were mostly cringe-worthy if one looked at them realistically. When women have sex with a well-endowed partner, they can only take so much roughness, and many bleed if the pounding is too hard. I can't see how a man's anus is going to be that much more accommodating. I get fiction, creative license, and fantasy, but come on.
I couldn't give less than one star if I wanted to share comments so the one star it has to be. The research and data on Las Vegas casinos, security work, and the FBI's hiring requirements were thorough, however. The story just lacked POWER despite her descriptions of Maximillian's world, and had too many horribly painful (sex) scenes.

Apparently I'm into the dom/sub kink way more than I thought. This was hot, steamy and deliciously impeccable. I'm surprised that this book had so much story in it, since it's very short. But I loved it!
I also discovered that I have a talent to find new books and then see that they are in a series of like 12-13 books, so I'll see if I'm continuing the series. It will happen though, later in the future!
