Eternal Mates #9

Possessed by a Dark Warrior

Rate this book
A powerful warrior and commander of the dark elf legions, Bleu is a loyal and devoted male, and one who has never failed in anything—except one thing. Love. When an elusive female dragon shifter surfaces in Hell again, giving him a mission to hurl himself into, he gladly returns to his hunt for her and the deadly blade she stole from his prince seven centuries ago, but as he closes in on his prey, fate reveals she is far more than his enemy.

Having escaped from the black market arena and her life as a slave, Taryn sets her sights back on the task she began seven hundred years ago when her brother stole a precious sword, but in the three centuries she’s been a captive, everything has changed. Corrupted by a craving for power, her brother has become dangerously obsessed with finding the blade and using it to claim the ultimate treasure—the position of King of Hell.

Faced with having to end her beloved twin brother to stop him from bringing all of Hell to its knees before him, will Taryn be strong enough to use the very blade he seeks against him? And when Bleu finally catches his elusive prey, will he listen to his head as it demands he complete his mission or his heart as it demands he claim his eternal mate?

Well it's finally here, Bleu's story and it feels like I've been waiting for this book for so long. To say he has been a force to be reckoned with is simply not enough and yes knowing that the author had big plans for him saw me through a tense wait. Oh and when I say big I mean big because Bleu's fated mate is a dragon! We glimpsed Taryn when Bleu rescued the captured female elves from a black market slave market in Bitten by a Hellcat and it was obvious this was going to be one hell of a chase. This female is the key to retrieving a magical sword stolen from the elves and this is one mission that Bleu is determined not to fail. I'd like to say Bleu has all the answers because hey I do like that cocky male but he is in for a rude awakening and it's one that just might bring him crashing down to his knees!
Oo what do I say? Bleu is obsessed by Taryn and kind of needed a slap on the head to realise why. I loved seeing his interactions with his prince Loren, as it was plain to see his loyalty was so strong and Bleu might never admit it but there's a deep abiding friendship there. In fact not only do we see Loren and how he is moving forward but frankly we get glimpses of most of our favourite characters. I think showing us Prince Vail in this story was simply genius. Such a tortured male and I always wondered what happened to him and here the author pulls no punches as healing a wound that's soul deep is a slow and torturous process. This book brings so many together as there's a huge battle royal and if you love dragons than this author describes it in cinematic detail . I felt every turn, could feel the wind as they slashed and my heart stopped at the break neck speed as the dragons plummeted! Just fabulous writing that brought so much to life.
Now you have probably noticed I haven't really mentioned the romance between Bleu and Taryn. I'm not sure that I always liked her as his heroine. I do understand her need to try and save her twin brother Tenak but casting herself as the enemy felt a little extreme. Taryn has suffered so much and is still dealing with the emotional stress of her captivity and yet her love for her ( absolutely barking mad) brother gives her hope of saving him. Sometimes if you love something you have to let it go and that's going to be an almost impossible task for our dragoness. Plus Tenak is a really nasty piece of work and what he does to those he captures is beyond cruel. Yet Bleu and Taryn do find love in that awful place and it's a love Bleu never thought he would experience. No instant love but an incredibly strong attraction that just cannot be ignored. Bleu may have watched his friends ( now come on Bleu admit it, they are your friends !) find that special person who fills their darkest places with light and he really didn't get it but now finally it's his turn to fall and fall hard.
There's steam aplenty here but for this reader it's the insights into the personalities that pulled me in the most . This world the author has created is addictive . Such a complex cast of characters with a diverse range of species. Elves, demons, witches and dragons dominate in this book but I'm hoping she will include her angels soon and there's a certain demon king who has me screaming for more! Another well written story and I cannot recommend this series highly enough

Bleu's story is one that everyone has been waiting for since the first book in the Eternal Mates series. He has been a favorite character for most readers. Finally with the ninth installment, we get his story. However, for me, it was a wait that wasn't up to the task. I think the build up has this installment falling a little flat.

Bleu and his mate Taryn actually met centuries ago. They just didn't realize that they were mates. Taryn's twin brother had stolen a powerful sword from the elves. The elves thought it was Taryn who took it. Taryn actually spent three centuries as a slave getting sold from one owner to another because no one could control her, she is a dragon after all.

Now that Taryn is free. She needs to stop her brother because he has gotten even crazy in their time apart. However, he catches her before she can fulfill her plan. So she plays along with him until she can find a way to stop him.

Once Bleu figures out his mate is Taryn, the woman who stole the sword, or so he thought. He sees no way they can be together. He has wanted nothing more than his own mate since his prince found his mate. This makes him mope around even more.

This is actually my least favorite book in this series so far. I thought that Bleu was way too emo for my liking. I just wanted to slap him many times and tell him to get his head out of his own ass and become the warrior his prince needed. I also thought that Taryn was a bit weak. She is a dragon, but spends three centuries as a slave by weaker species. Then after she is free, she seems even weaker. She survived all of those years, I just feel she should be stronger. I also felt that the story between them dragged on a bit. I felt that the action wasn't up to the previous books.

All of this being said, I still thought it was an okay story. I would still recommend it to fans of the Eternals Mates series. I still highly recommend this series to paranormal romance fans. I think this is a case of the hype was just too much for the story. It is a problem I have with books that are highly anticipated for beloved characters.

**Book was provided to me by the author. This review is my opinion and was not requested or provoked in anyway by the author.

Bleu’s story has been a long time in coming, and I’ve been psyching myself up for POSSESSED BY A DARK WARRIOR for what seems like ages which unfortunately caused the reality to not quite live up to the three years of self-imposed hype. The hero’s been unknowingly chasing after his mate for seven centuries, and that was definitely fitting as were the inescapable eating-his-own-words moments, but the romance needed more pizzazz in order to compete with some of this series’ earlier couples, and he abandoned his bachelor ways entirely too easily.

We’ve bumped into elves and dragons before in the ETERNAL MATES universe, so although there was some character specific world-building, the plot focused primarily on Bleu & Taryn finding each other, and Tenak’s upcoming war. Still, the book did take a few surprising turns, and there were some cutesy aspects that I especially enjoyed like the female lead’s reaction to “treasures” in the elf kingdom. Otherwise, no previously uncharted realms were explored other than no man’s land and the free zone which weren’t covered in much detail.

Many of the previous pairings played minor roles, I really liked how Felicity Heaton built on Vail & Bleu’s history, and the protagonist’s past with Sable—a key turning point IMO. My favourite EM alpha male did put up some resistance when it came to giving his heart away however, considering his long running anti-love stance, and incessant mockery of others taking the plunge, I found that his walls came down with barely a look. As a result, I felt as though readers missed out on many of the things that made Bleu so attractive.

Because of this, Taryn was able to step into the spotlight, perhaps a bit more than she should have. That’s not to say that she wasn’t deserving of the attention… I think that I’m a little peeved that this installment ended up being more about her. Surviving life as a slave was no small feat, and her toughest test was still to come in the form of her own flesh and blood. She handled both admirably, yet in doing so she short-changed Blue. I just felt that their relationship was skewed.

POSSESSED BY A DARK WARRIOR was all that, but minus the bag of chips.

“I am tired of fighting this… are you not tired too? We were made for each other. I honestly feel that… two halves of one soul… two hearts that were always meant to be together… that were created to complete each other.”

After escaping her captivity, Taryn tries again to right the wrong she failed at seven centuries ago when her brother stole Prince Loren’s powerful sword. She needs to stop her brother, who has been corrupted by power, and killing everyone in his path. He will stop at nothing to become the King of Hell. But will Taryn be strong enough to kill her twin with the very blade he seeks to possess? And will she be able to evade the elf who has hunted her for these seven centuries? The elf who is her fated mate.

Bleu is the commander of the dark elf legions, and the second-hand of Prince Loren. He is loyal and devoted to his kingdom, even giving up on the one thing he has always wanted. His fated mate, the one he can call his own. And when sets sights again on the elusive dragon he has been hunting for centuries, he gladly continues his pursuit of her. But this time he will finally have to admit the truth he has known for a very long time – his enemy is his fated mate. The one he has always dreamed of, but can never have. Perhaps fate will not be so cruel, and his enemy might just always have been his ally.

I have been looking forward to Bleu’s book since the first book. I just love this sexy elf, and I’ve been hoping that he would finally find his HEA. I felt so sad at seeing his pain when witnessing everyone around him finding their mates, finding love. And knowing, despite his best efforts at hiding his feelings, how deeply it hurt him to be alone, and unable to find his love. I was quite surprised to find out that he has known all along who his mate was, but understood that because he thought she was his enemy, he couldn’t pursue her in that way. And he buried the knowledge so deep, that over the centuries he actually forgot what she was to him. But in this book he could no longer deny it, and I really enjoyed watching him fall for his little dragon.

Taryn has been a slave for the last three centuries. Being sold from owner to owner as they tried to break her. And because of this she has a darkness inside, one that makes her lose control over herself and her reactions to others near her. I felt so bad for seeing how broken she was, but despite all of this she still tried to do the right thing, by putting a stop to the madness of her brother.

The romance was very hot, just as I’ve come to expect from this author. And I really liked Bleu and Taryn as a couple. Both were so possessive over each other, and watching them lose control around each other was a lot of fun. My only problem was the fact that Taryn was still a virgin after all these centuries, while obviously Bleu was no monk. I can understand why Bleu didn’t pursue Taryn once he knew what she was to him because he thought she was his enemy, but I just does not make sense that in all the centuries before her captivity, Taryn never had sex with anyone. This is a trope that I’m really getting tired of having in a romance book.

The plot was interesting and the fighting scenes well written as always. I felt really sorry for Taryn that her brother was evil. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it must be knowing that your sibling must die for the greater good.

There were a few secondary characters that I found very interesting. Once again more was revealed about Fuery, who is slowly losing himself to the darkness. I really hope that we will get his book soon, and that he can be saved. Then there was Dacian one of Bleu’s warriors, who seemed to be in love with his fellow warrior Fynn’s sister. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen between them.

This book was a good addition to a great PNR series.

~ 2 Possessed Stars ~

Possessed by a Dark Warrior is book nine in the Eternal Mates series by Felicity Heaton.

I would recommend reading at least the first three books, Kissed by a Dark Prince, Claimed by a Demon King, & Tempted by a Rogue Prince if not the whole series in order; before this novel. Bleu, our hero, plays important parts in the previous novels. He captured my heart from the moment he appeared on the pages. His story has been a long time coming and I’ve been psyched for his novel, so it saddens me to say, but I am a bit let down and bummed with Possessed by a Dark Warrior…

Bleu has unknowingly been chasing after his mate for seven centuries. Bleu and Taryn spend a lot of time in this novel figuring out their emotions and also coming to some major revelations about their life; the past and future. All of this made the story slow and drag along for me. By the end I was skimming pages, board, and frustrated that I had read the whole book. Their romance was lacking that pizzazz that the earlier couples have in this series. I also missed the fast-paced action-packed adventure that I have come to love and enjoy in these books.

I expected more from Bleu’s true mate Taryn. I felt she was lacking in depth and smarts. I can emphasize with her drive to stop her brother and also wanting to see the good in him, but some of the things she did just baffled my mind.

* For one, she’s a dragon shifter, so she should know that her brother would smell her and find what she hide.

* Second, the ending battle she hesitates, until something major happens to give her the balls to finally do what needs doing (I was frustrated and yelling at her during this scene).

* Last, I got mad that the all powerful artifact everyone has been searching for Taryn just drops it on the ground, where anyone can pick it up, and disappear with it.

Unfortunately, Possessed by a Dark Warrior did not work for me. It does not mean it won’t for you. If the blurb intrigues you I urge you to give it a try. This one installment is’t going to put me off on continue the series. I love FHeaton, I love the Eternal Mates series, and I’m looking forward to the next novel.

Another fantastic, all action paranormal romance from the Eternal Mates series. You could easily read this as a stand alone, but it does mention other couples from previous books so might spoil them for you.
Bleu is an Elf warrior commander, whose job is to protect the Elf kingdom. There is a powerful, magical sword that was stolen many years ago by a dragon. Now Bleu has spotted the dragon and is determined to track her down and retrieve the dangerous artifact.
Taryn is a dragon, and she has just managed to escape from hundreds of years of captivity. Now she must try to stop her brother from destroying so many lives in his madness.
Our hero has immersed himself in his work all his life. Now he is watching so many of his friends find their fated mates. He is only drawn to one female and she is the enemy. Any male with less self confidence would be intimidated by such a strong female.
Our heroine is suffering from PTSD, but has set herself an almost impossible task. Although as a dragon she is incredibly strong, her brother is much more so. She loves her brother and he loves her, but he is quite mad.
A sexy, action packed adventure through the realms of Hell. Beautifully described fights between dragons and demons that almost make you duck out of the way.
I am totally addicted to this series.

Knowing that Bleu gets his own book, I could not wait to get my hands on Possessed by a Dark Warrior. I’m sure there quite a few fans of author Felicity Heaton who were chomping at the bit for Bleu’s story. And just in case you’re wondering if I was disappointed? Oh heck no! Bleu’s HEA was everything I could hope for. Come on folks, he ends up with a DRAGON! How cool is that!

Watching him get more and more sullen as everyone around him finds their life mates, even Vail, yeah things just didn’t seem very fair to Bleu in the romance department. A few of those he thought were the one mating off to other he knows does not make Bleu a happy camper… I mean, elf. Nevertheless, being a warrior first, when a dragon shifter resurfaces in Hell, Bleu throws himself into the mission to hunt her down. Three centuries Taryn was a slave black market arena before finally she escapes. Now her only goal is to finish what she started seven hundred years ago - retrieve the sword her brother stole and stop him from taking over as King of Hell. Boy, are these two in for a big surprise.

Woof this was one loaded book. Let’s start with Taryn. I really liked her despite not quite knowing is she was all together there in the head. Quite the nasty job she has set for herself trying to kill off her brother especially after not seeing him in forever. As for Bleu, what can I say? He’s Bleu! Sexy beast and sometimes so stubbornly thick in the head. Hello, there’s a reason you feel an attraction to her. Anyhow, things are anything but boring when these two kids are around. From Bleu’s search for her to Taryn’s interactions with her brother expect a lot of excitement and things to move very fast. And heat…yeah there is pretty nice heat between Bleu and Taryn. Yum!

Pros to the story include the past characters making a comeback. Best way to make me happy is to bring back previous characters in a series if nothing else but to know how things are going for them. Thorne, Vail, Loren, et al. all make a nice showing here. Some are just players others are given a nice little continuation to their stories. I like that we are given a bit more of a glimpse into Vail although I’m guessing it may be because of Taryn’s (not altogether there) state of mind. Now for a con which is just a personal thing. Taryn’s a virgin. What the…?!?! How is that even possible after being alive so many centuries? Yes okay, she was defending herself when she was a slave but to be a virgin after soooo long…sorry that just seemed quite a stretch. However, that is just my personal opinion and is no way a reflection of the story. That’s just me thinking ‘Oh come on!’

I’ve been following the Eternal Mates series from the very beginning and book has been such a rush to read. Anytime anybody asked if I have been enjoying myself and if it’s worth the read I always say yes. I kept hoping that Bleu would get his own HEA before the series ended. Now that it has, I almost feel the series could end. Almost, that is until I peek and see there’s a few more book left. *Groans* What a sec…Fifth Commander of the Echelon. Hmmm,oh yeah. I sense a good story in the making here. I’m ready when you are Ms. Heaton!

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.

Blue is a powerful warrior and commander of the dark elf legions and when an elusive female dragon resurfaces he gladly returns to his hunt for her and the deadly blade she stole but as he closes in, fate reveals she is far more than his enemy in this breathtaking paranormal romance.

After escaping her life as a slave, Taryn sets her sights back on the task she began seven hundred years ago, but everything has changed and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this breathtaking tale as fate reveals that Bleu and Taryn both have life altering decisions to make. The chemistry between Bleu and Taryn is powerful and sweeps readers up in their aura as they are both faced with choosing between doing what’s right and love, which has lots of emotional turbulence and sizzling desires flowing from the pages. The strong, compelling characters are easily related to and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

Anticipation builds with every step of Bleu’s search for the female dragon and expectation grabs hold of the readers when he finally catches up to her and discovers just what Taryn is faced with and what her plan of action means for them both, while adrenaline pumping excitement builds as Taryn’s twin brother sets out to claim the position as King of Hell which threatens the entire realm. Felicity Heaton always brings her worlds to vibrant life which makes it so easy to become caught up in the story and makes me believe that I am right there with the characters.

There was a dull moment in this story and as the intriguing events played out, I was pulled deeper and deeper into Bleu and Taryn’s story and they dug deeper into my heart as well, in others Bleu’s story was well worth the wait, now I have to wait for the next one but it will be hard to top this one, of course I’m sure Felicity Heaton’s up to the task.

This book was given to me by the Author In Exchange For an Honest Review.

This book was amazing! just like all the books in this series Felicity brings this one in with a bang! I was so looking forward to Bleu's story as he has been such a constant throughout all the books. I really loved the character of Taryn she really intrigued me in the previous story and I liked getting to see all of her different facets in this one. The coming together of the two of them was played brilliantly and in true Felicity fashion! The twists and chaos in this one was brilliant! and has become one of my true favs!

I loved seeing the characters of Vail and Fury in this again as well, their characters are favs of mine and Vails story was a true fav of mine. When Taryn's crazy brother came into the scene I really didn't see how things would turn out, cause crazy is tough to beat!...lol....Felicity did it with her spicy and true Bleu ( pun intended ) panache! at times I couldn't believe what could Taryn could possibly be thinking! but her love for her twin brother clouded her judgment A LOT and she couldn't see him for the raging psycho he was!!!!! lol

Seeing Taryn and Bleu come together was the best part! Bleu really denied it as long as possible but in the end couldn't hold back. It was amazing to see him embrace what all of his friends have already found, so that it will not hurt so much when he see them again. Felicity is such a brilliant author and I couldn't put the book down! her magic of the written word, spellbinds and captivates until your powerless but to read every last word!

Make sure you get your copy and don't miss out on this incredible addition to the series! you will not regret it!!!!

This review might contain spoilers, read at your own peril
Actually is 1.5 stars,

I've been waiting for Bleu story since the first book, and I was so excited to finally read it. And was disappointed, skipped most of the book (around 30-40 %, lots of unnecessary descriptions IMHO) and still manage to keep up with the story, as if I had read all of it. I don't know if I'm the one who had high expectations, but suddenly Bleu wasn't the character I had been excited to read about, it's almost like he turned into a different person, I didn't like him much, and lets not talk about Taryn, it could have been anyone in her place and I wouldn't care. That's how relevant she was to me.

I expected Bleu to be more loyal to Dacian, Fynn and Leif, for me it would have made a better story if he had trusted the with the truth. And does anyone remember the female siren??? You know the one held captive by the big bad dragon (Taryn's brother, forgot his name)??? The one Bleu almost bled or should I say sucked dry??? I bet you didn't remember, well neither did Bleu and Taryn (unless they did and I skipped over it which I doubt).
And what about the fact that he didn't have time to explain things to his people, or talk to his friends, a war is brewing, but wait a sec., war can wait till he gets on with his mate.

I know I'm ranting but I expected something different, something better. It made me dislike Bleu, honestly I was more interested in the Second Demon Realm (however you say it) King who's name I forgot, in Dacian, and even in Leif, and the chick, Isla, her name is I think, that might be the vampire Garve mate (that's his name right? Tell me I nailed it!! I loved him and have been waiting for his story, but now after Bleu, I'm afraid he'll be ruined for me).

The Eternal Mates books are one of my favourite PNR series. When it came to Bleu & Taryn's story what could have been better than a kinda broken hero and a dragon shifter heroine - not much in my book, that's for sure!!

Possessed by a Dark Warrior had a slightly different feel than the rest of the series. It had all that we have come to expect from Felicity - action, adventure, assorted paranormal species, battles (both physical and of the heart!), heat, passion, tons of sexual attraction and smokin' hot sex, we ran into some of our favourite characters from earlier in the series and we were introduced to a character of two who I'm sure will pop up again in the future - but a fair bit of the story was about our leading couple finding their way and focusing on their developing relationship.

I must admit that, until this book, I wasn't the biggest fan of Bleu... He often wound me up as much as he did Thorne and some of the other males - he never struck me as the type to settle down, much too happy popping off to the mortal realm to scratch an itch whenever the need struck - but in his book we saw a very different side to him and I realised that all this time he had been hiding behind this persona to avoid letting any one see the real him. He's definitely won me over!!!

I loved PbaDW and give it a rating of 5* - I have to say that after reading the excerpt at the end of the book I'm really looking forward to Awakened by a Demoness the next Eternal Mates tale in the series!

Felicity Heaton never disappoints when it comes to creating a paranormal world and characters that a reader can truly fall in love with.

The story is very good and I enjoyed both Bleu and Taryn as a couple, I just had a few issues I myself couldn’t believe. Taryn is several centuries old and she is still a virgin and let’s not forget the fact she was also a slave by six different owners during this time. I’m sorry I just couldn’t fathom how she could still be a virgin after all of the time without some kind of explanation. Her character could have been a bit stronger for my taste too. I really liked her, but I felt she was really week for the storyline. Other than that, I found a lot of action, a very evil villain and a hot passion romance between Bleu and Taryn and would recommend this series and book to all paranormal romance lovers.

This was the first book that I read in this series and I'm so glad I did. I've always wanted to read this series and after this book I'll have to go back and read the others.
This story focused on Bleu a sexy elven warrior and Taryn a sexy fierce dragoness. I loved the tension and passion between them. It was hot, sexy and intense.
I loved how the story played out and how they came together. This book had everything I was looking for action, suspense, and romance. I look forward to reading more books in this series!

This has got to be the worst book in the Eternal Mates series. After the long wait for Bleu's story, I had hoped his mate would be somebody kickass like Sable. It was so disappointing to learn that he was actually an insecure mess inside, and that his mate Taryn was a such a weakling. The many pages of irrational possessiveness and ridiculous growling was completely over the top, repetitive and tiresome. On the whole, this book was boring and a complete waste of time.

I thought that Bleu's story would be my favorite of the series, but unfortunately it wasn't. I in no way hated this one, but it is surprisingly not what I hoped it to be for me. I am still a super fan of this series, just not of this installment. Excuse me, while I go silently weep into a glass of wine...Review to come.

I HAD NO IDEA BLEU WAS GOING TO HAVE HIS OWN STORY!! AFTER WHAT HAPPENED WITH SABLE, I'm glad that he actually has a fated mate of his own and boy, what a 360 degree change in behaviour he had after he finally had the balls to track down his mate. It kinda sucked knowing he knew she existed for 300-700 centuries but he was in big denial..not quite sure how to feel about him now.

COWARD keeps repeating in my head.

This story while fun to see and reminisce with old characters, was needlessly long, and after Chapter 14, Bleu and Taryn still haven't met. I was about to give up then but I didn't.

Anyways, Heaton's fated mate stories never rate more than a 3 stars for me because they still lacked something substantial that made it a really kickass book in comparison to some of my favourite PNR. I know, bad to compare...but I couldn't help it.

BLEU was a little annoying and sweet when he was pursuing Sable, and I almost forgot about who he was when I attempted this book. Now at least, he sort of made a different impact on me in this story. We could SEE more of him and understand his drive. While I want to commend him on his loyalty to the elven kingdom, I'm not quite sure what that says about him as a mate. Yes, he subconsciously knew the dragon they were after for centuries was his mate but because she's the enemy, he never intended to pursue her. Boo Hoo for Taryn. BLEU always wanted a mate, and he did bitch and get jealous sometimes, hiding the pain in his work but once everyone who used to need him no longer did....he realized his life was empty. Thus, after so many centuries he finally dredged up the courage to admit he wants his mate. Zzzzz. I don't know Bleu...he made his mate sound like a convenience when he needed her. Major eye roll. Okay, but despite that...he was 100% devoted to Taryn after he found her so I guess that's a good thing.

TARYN 's character bordered on fearful and brave but, I never begrudge a heroine who doesn't piss me off. She's loyal, protective and equally possessive of those she loves, exactly how a dragoness should be. The poor dear has lost her brother to darkness and greed and well, she's a victim of those that she love...I feel absolutely sorry but I wanted more for her. So the plot focuses on everyone taking down her evil brother Tenak and I won't lie, I kind of wished the author would have attempted to give him a fated mate to see how love could conquer greed and evil. Is that asking too much?

OVERALL this was okay. I wasn't sucked in and I definitely didn't feel the need to rush to finish it.

What a phenomenal addition to the Eternal Mates series. Bleu has been my favorite since the first book and I can't tell you how thrilled I am that he finally found his forever female. The balance he found with Taryn is perfect. They both compliment each other so well, like they were made for each other (just kidding). The battle and heartaches they have both had to face and overcome are monumental.

Taryn is a dragon shifter who has been on the run for a crime she didn't commit for the last 700 years. Taking the blame for her twin brother. Standing in his place, even when she tried to right the wrong. She has also spent the 300 years as a slave sold a total of six times on the black market to sick twisted men who wanted to break her, claim her as their own. She spent all that time fighting them off, saving her self from some of their depravity. Thinking about the fight she would have when she was finally free. The path she would have to take in order to save all of Hell, and possibly the Mortal Realm as well as the Heavens, from her brother's madness.

During that time Bleu has spent his energy hunting her, leading the Elf army for Prince Loren as his Commander. He spent 700 years believing that he pursued with such focus simply because she was a mission, an enemy of his prince and his kingdom. Never allowing himself to realize what she truly was to him. Their journey together is amazing, heartbreaking, and uplifting all at the same time.

Also, during this story you get to catch up with Loren & Olivia, Thorne & Sable, and Vail & Rosalind.

You learn about a deeper connection between Bleu and Vail. Why Bleu really has such dislike towards Vail, other than the obvious. You get to catch of glimpse of Fuery again, and learn of another connection between he, Bleu and Vail. (Which is very cool, and sad, by the way.)

You get to meet three of Bleu's most trusted warriors, Dacian, Fynn & Leif. (There's a mate bound between one of them and another's little sister. Can't wait to read that story.)

There's also another hint of a connection between Grave, Lord of the Vampires and Leader of the Preux Chevaliers and a phantom of the First Realm. (Another story I can't wait to read.)

Bleu is the right-hand man to Prince Loren (Kissed by a Dark Prince). But since his Prince has found his eternal mate, Olivia, Bleu finds that most of the duties which took up his day such as acting as counsel to the Prince, have been usurped by the new Princess. There is one task that Bleu was has never been able to complete and that is recovering the Elven Sword stolen by the dragoness over 700 years ago. He found her once and almost lost his life. He has the scars across his neck to prove it. The trail has been cold these last 300 years but a recent battle has brought her to Bleu's attention once more.

Taryn has spent the past 300 years in slavery being sold again and again, fighting off her new masters each time until they finally sold her off. Thankfully a dragon slave was too rare to simply kill. She has been biding her time and finally found her opportunity to escape when the elves attacked the slave market. Her premonitions had warned her that the Elf was coming for her again so she wasn't surprised to catch Bleu's eyes across the battle field. Though she wasn't planning on sitting and waiting for him to grab her.

Taryn has plans of her own. Before she was captured by the slavers, Taryn had taken the stolen sword from her twin brother. His desire for power has been turning into an obsession and she knows that with the Elves's sword, he would kill many in his attempt to rule all of the Hell realm. Now that she is free, it is past time to bring the sword back to Tenak and kill him with it. Death is the only way to stop her brother's madness.

The only one who can stop her plan is Bleu. If he gets the sword first and takes it back to the Elves, her brother will destroy their kingdom to regain his prized treasure. Taryn needs to avoid Bleu a little longer until she can reach her brother and deal with him, or else all hope might be lost.

THOUGHTS:
To followers of this series, finally getting Bleu's story was a triumph. I have read most of the series, but not the first few books where Bleu was featured. Although I wasn't part of the Bleu frenzy, I had no trouble enjoying this book.

You have to feel bad for Bleu. First, after 4,000 years of being the BFF and confidant of Prince Loren, he is suddenly pushed aside by Loren finding the love of his life, Olivia. Bleu might like Olivia but is doesn't change the fact that Bleu spent most of his day waking the Prince, helping him dress, making sure he gets to his meetings, being a confidant, and now he was a third-wheel with nothing much to do. Added to that situation, Bleu's fiance, Sable, dumped him in Book 2 for the Demon King (Claimed by a Demon King). His best friend dumped him, his girlfriend dumped him and everyone around him is finding their soul mate, including his sister (Hunted by a Jaguar). Bleu is kind of sad and lonely. Awww!

We met Taryn briefly before first when she was rescued at the slave market as part of Bitten by a Hellcat and when she recovers the sword from her friend Loke in Taken by a Dragon. Taryn knew that they were mates but was avoiding Bleu because she knew he wanted to punish her for stealing the sword. Of course, we find out that in dragon form Taryn and Tenak are almost identical and it was Tenak who stole the sword, killing many of the Elven guards, not Taryn. She just stole it from her brother to keep him from starting a war.

Taryn suffers a bit of PTSD from 300 of slavery. While she is using her trauma to get back into her crazy brother's good graces. Hey, I want to hurt them all too since look what they did to me. But whenever she remembers all the males who tried to break her and rape her, she does get overwhelmed by her own emotions and might not recover if not for Bleu.

The only thing I didn't find believable was Bleu's revelation that he recognized 700 years ago that Taryn was his mate but because she was an enemy, he pushed that knowledge down in his brain and forgot about it instead of pursuing her like he does now for answers. Oh wait, there was a misunderstanding? She isn't a heartless, killing bitch? Maybe we can date. Maybe you can forget where you left the TV remove, but forgetting the most monumental moment when you meet the one person meant for you and then spending 700 years still lamenting how you've never found the love of your life because you forgot, seems far fetched. Yes, I am reading a book about elves, demons and dragons, and that seemed far fetched? I know!

I am amazed that anything gets done in any of these kingdoms since it appears the only thing any of them do when they aren't having sex with their mate is stare at them and growl and try to kill any other male looking at their mate, and smirking at the other males as they catch them drooling over their own mates. Several of the characters from the prior books are in the war room together trying to work out a defense but all they are doing is thinking of their women and sex and scaring off other males. Focus boys!

I thought it was interesting that Bleu could shift into a dragon once he took Taryn's blood. I didn't note that ability before in this series and it is a very cool ability which should have been used much more. In fact, in every battle all you need to do is get close enough to your enemy to latch on and grab some blood and you would have all his strengths. In fact, Bleu makes a much cooler dragon, than the dragons in the story.

I wasn't a Bleu fanatic since I jumped into this series starting with Book 4. I still enjoyed this story and I am happy to say that I missed nothing by not finishing the last book which I didn't like Marked by an Assassin.

I'm pretty sure I've been waiting since book one for this one to happen, and boy did it make me happy. If you've been aching to see Bleu happy, then this is where you need to be, friend.

Possessed by a Dark Warrior is book 9 in the series, and though they can all be read as standalones, I highly suggest at least reading book 1 before you read this one. The relationship between Bleu and Prince Loren is clearly laid out in that book and that relationship goes a long way to understanding this wonderful man's personality. Honestly, I think Bleu may well have made an appearance in every book... He's definitely a fan favorite, and here we get to see into his head and heart. Finally. And that poor dear. His mate has to be amazing just to appease all the fans, and Taryn does not disappoint.

Taryn is a dragon shifter with an extremely rare twin, who happens to have gone stark raving mad. Taryn isn't too far from it herself after several centuries as a slave and we watch her overcome and rise above the horrors she's endured and become a strong and amazingly powerful person. She and Bleu have trust issues, both for good reasons, but they genuinely care for each other from the start. The journey to their happy ending (for now, of course, as there are many characters left who need mates) is long and painful, but that just makes the end more worthwhile. Their battle to save hell from her brother pales in comparison (don't get me wrong, it's very well done) to the battle for each other. Beautiful.

If you like your romance with elves, dragons, some cranky demons, a heavy dose of angst, a heavier dose of steam, some amazing action/fights, sweet family moments, loving friendships, and realizing dreams at the end of a long hard ride, this book is for you.

Long awaited

Having read this series from its beginning, my curiosity has been piqued about stoic Commander Bleu of Prince Loren’s army. Knowing that our author loves subjecting her male characters with trouble, each story has each male or female character finding their fated mate. Reading these books in order does provide a chronological timeline.

And our dear Commander- it has finally become his turn for love. We get glimpses of dragon Taryn in previous stories as she has been enslaved for over 300 years. So yes there will be some mental trauma going on there as well. These two mix so well that their story is haunting, beautiful and gentle. So our Dark Warrior got to possess his woman. Kudos to him.

Definitely recommend the book of Bleu and Taryn... the audio is very well done. I prefer hearing while at work but when I am home I enjoy reading along. Anyways, great story by felicity of Bleu I had always wondered if he was going to get a fated mate. How unexpected and the denial he was in. Bleu chasing a dragon for 7 centuries to retrieve back what was stolen from the elves kingdom and Taryn running away and towards the least person she wanted to go to but had a mission to end it. I love it when Felicity includes all other characters from previous stories and how they are combined just perfectly. Can’t wait to continue this series.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, ever since we were introduced to Bleu in the first book of the series. I also liked the fact that we were introduced to Taryn in previous books too.

However, I didn’t find that this story gripped me in the way that the previous two stories in the series did, and I was a little bit disappointed by that.

I loved that it brought all the previous characters from the first 3 books back into it again, but did find that it was a bit soppy in places, which wasn’t how his character has been portrayed before.

Anyway, another book to read and enjoy by Felicity, who keeps her fans begging for more with each book that is released.

I was so looking forward to Bleu’s book but this was a disaster. It was long winded. The worst part was that he screwed other women after meeting his mate. Once you meet a mate, even if you “try to forget” them, you shouldn’t feel attracted to others. The male shouldn’t be able to even get aroused for another. But Bleu pushed her out of his mind, and while she was being attacked by her slave owners, he was screwing hundreds of women. Literally hundreds. Because he “forgot” her for so long and he obviously scratched his “itch” whenever he wanted and often. Just wrong and gross. He didn’t deserve her first time and he did taint her.

Excellent

I really enjoyed this well written book. The storyline grabs you from the first page and you can't help but keep listening/reading to find out where this author is going to take us. I have enjoyed this entire series and couldn't wait to read/ listen to Bleu's Story! I love that they are offered in audio format and even though I purchased the ebook on release day I have waited to enjoy for the audio to release as this truly brings these characters to life for me! Highly recommend!

This plot doesn’t make sense. If she was going to kill her brother, the most logical plan would have been to do it by surprise at first meeting when he didn’t know she had the blade. After that, the next most logical option would have been drugging him and killing him while he was unconscious or weak. For that matter, given the dragons in other books, it seems unlikely the other dragons would have gone enmasse to kill him for revenge earlier.

So much of everything

Wow...intense in every way. A dragon on the run, a fae hunting...hundreds of years...but not is as it seems. A wonderful tale of love and romance, forgiveness and enlightenment. I have read this author before and always enjoy them....this one I found to be just a little bit too introspective and detailed...lots of internal thoughts although they all had a baring on the journey of both main characters

Love Bleu the book and the series

I love the series and I’ve been waiting for Bleu’s story since the first book. The story was good but after so much wait I found it a little slow and I imagined the Romance faster and more consuming. The background story of Bleu waiting centuries didn’t sit well, but as always the story was good the romance hot and a happy end.
