A TRAGIC BEGINNING…

Isadora Nikitas understands what it means to be betrayed. That lesson was taught to her in the prime of her life, and when she is offered a chance to exact revenge, she finds it difficult to refuse.

Instead, she entrusts her survival to a mysterious vampire known only as Diomêdês, a male who wants nothing in return but to watch over her—in every way imaginable.

Gifted with speed, strength, and immortality, she determines that her life will no longer be governed by the needs and wants of a mere man. She has cowered for the last time, and with her Ancient by her side, she thrives and blossoms into the most formidable female vampire in existence.

But, once upon a time, like all little girls, Isadora believed in love. She believed it because she once had it. So, when it comes along a second time, she knows that it’s possible—but when you love someone, they become your weakness. Unless, in fact, they become your enemy instead…

A MYSTERIOUS PAST…

Fulfilling your life’s prophecy should be empowering. At least, that’s what Elias Fontana always believed. But, as he stands guard over the beautiful vampire he’s taken hostage, his convictions start to crumble. Made to believe by his creators that he and two others have been designed to destroy a dangerous race, he has difficulty connecting his current reality to the woman he once loved.

A TANGLED TALE TO UNRAVEL…

When friends become enemies and enemies become lovers, who can you trust in the webs of lies and despair? And, when your life is at stake and blood has been shed, how much are you willing to sacrifice to fulfill your destiny?

Sexy Vampires,Greek Mythology,M/M/M, M/F, F/F and a bit of voyeurism..Hell Yes!!

Well,I loved Alasdair but I think I enjoyed this even more.This series has the perfect mix...a PNR story that's gripping and easy to follow and it's so erotic,the sexual tension is so hot!

This one picks up straight where book 1 ended It's,obviously,Isadora's story but for fans of hot m/m action don't worry because we get a LOT more of Alasdair,Leo and Vasilios.
So,Isadora's story was not what I was expecting.The Author has created a truly captivating world here.It's fascinating to read about the relationships between the Ancients and their first sired.

Isadora and Diomedes.....they had such a beautiful connection and their back story,while a bit difficult to read,was captivating.
We also get to find out about the connection between her and Elias.I started of not liking him very much but was definitely converted by the end.

(Yes,I had to use a True Blood gif.....Eric can certainly sex it up!!)

Like I said there is a lot more of Alasdair,Leo and Vasilios....and,my God,these guys are seriously sexy together.
The story is told from multiple POV'S and I noticed a few people didn't like this but it TOTALLY worked for me,I just loved getting into the minds of these amazing characters.

Oh,and,I've got a new favourite character....the delicious Paris!!
I cannot wait for the next one.
I don't read loads of PNR but do enjoy them and this is definitely becoming one of my favourites.
I think if you've read and enjoyed Alasdair,this is a must read....

My my, Ella Frank, what a twisted tale you weave. The Masters Among Monsters series continues with Isadora, and all the puzzle pieces from the previous books begin to slowly put themselves together. But while you get answers to some things, you're left with plenty more questions.

Truth be told, I struggled with my rating for a bit. Do I rate this for what it was or what I thought it would be? But Ella Frank has never been conventional, and she's not one to be put in a box. This series proves exactly that. The woman is a chameleon of genres and her sinfully sexy writing style is sure to hook any reader. Her Masters Among Monsters series, however, is unlike anything I've read, not only by her, but anyone. Yes, it's PNR, but if you're expecting traditional romance, don't hold your breath. MAM is sure to break some molds just like the characters within it.
I do not wish to break you. I wish to fuck you."

If you're thinking that each book is a only a romance for each character that's named on it, think again. It's so much more than that and it's certainly not meant to be read as standalones.

Isadora and Elias clearly have a history together, yet after the events of the previous book, it's clear that they are on opposite ends of what looks to be an upcoming war between the vampires and an entity that is still unknown. Who is Elias? Who is Leonidas? And who is the newcomer, Paris? Isadora delves into the history of how Isadora came to be turned; Deomedes, the ancient that saved her when he turned her; and her current situation with Elias Fontana. Each one of these characters has a POV. Not only that, but a large part of the book is still dedicated to the story of Leo, Alasdair and Vasilios. In addition to all these POVs, we also get one for Paris, Eton, and a little taste of Thanos.

I wasn't expecting quite so many POVs, and I had also expected Isadora to be more focused on the romance aspect between Isadora and Elias. But this book is so much more than that. Ella has taken the big picture and broke it up into three parts. Each book offers another piece of the puzzle, but it's impossible to do so without continuing what began in the first one. So while this has the addition of more history on Isadora, it's also very much a continuance for the rest of the characters. It's not cut and dry and it's anything but black and white. It's sensual and delicious world building along with an incredibly erotic romance that's anything but ordinary. Is there really any wonder why this author continues to be an auto-buy for me?

While the book ends in as good a place as it can, all things considered, it's clear there's much more to come. And I for one cannot wait to see how everything concludes.

Isadora is a terrific continuation to a great series. Ella Frank did it again. She gave us some strong creatures with or without fangs, with the sexual tension reaching high levels and the suspense driving us crazy. I loved every minute of it. The story was captivating and I easily devoured every word of it.

"She was to be his first-sired.
The one he’d bind his life with.
She was the one. "

I especially have to mention my likelyhood to any past scene, I love the flashbacks, the scenes that took part in ancient Greece and we got a glimpse in Isadora's life. I was really intrigued by the Ancient who turned her, Diomedes and I felt for him. I didn't know who to root for. Both Elias and Diomedes were equal opponents when it came to their parts in Isadora's life. I may or may not had rooted more for her Ancient, but that's irrelevant ;)

I didn't mind the multiple POVs, although it could get a little confusing at times, I liked getting into their heads and I loved that we had so many parts of the heroes from the previous book, although at times I felt like I expected this book to be more focused on Isadora and it wasn't that much. I wanted it to delve more on her story and instead I felt like it wasn't enough.

I strongly recommend you to read this series if you're a fan of paranormal reads, sexy vampires who like to get it on and they don't care if it's a boy or a girl, so you get many scorching scenes either you like m/f, m/m, f/f, m/m/m etc.

What a story!! I was so scared to begin Isadora. I remember I even sent my first message to an author after reading Alasdair. I wanted Ella to reassure me on the direction she wanted to take with this story. I have to laugh at myself right now because I should have never doubted her. What she did with Isadora was exactly what it needed to be.

Isadora starts exactly where Alasdair ends so if you have troubled remembering a few things, I suggest you read the last chapter and you'll be all set.

"Tonight, you will be ours and we will be yours"

It's safe to say Ella is a master at story telling. What she did here is spectacular. You have so many pov' it could have been pretty confusing. But it's the other way around. Everything is there for a reason and when needed.
You had questions after Alasdair, you'll get some answers but everything is going to be clear in Thanos, the third book that comes out on March 15.

description

Just like in Alasdair, you'll get to know more about Isadora and her Ancient. That particular aspect was really interesting to me. You can sense the difference there are between all of them. The relation Isadora has couldn't be more different than the one Alasdair has with Vasilios. And the one Thanos has seems even more awkward.
You'll witness a lot of dynamics between all Ancients and their first-sired. It's captivating. Their bond is special in every way.

“Are you ready to give in to that darkness? To sell your soul to us? Because that is what you are doing. Handing your soul over for me to command.”

You already know Leo and Elias but a third person enters in this story, it's Paris. With him there, all 'players' are almost in place for the big final.
The only one who seems to know what happens in their life is Elias. He knows their purpose, what need to be done but he seems clueless in how to do it.

To complicate everything, you have not only the role all three have to play to focus on but also their personal relation with the vampires.
You already know the attraction Leo has for Alasdair&Vasilios. Paris is going to meet Thanos at some point and Elias is going to be pushed back into his history with Isadora.
The guy is strong, like I said he has a goal to reach but what happened 11years ago with Isadora clouds his judgement. He feels betrayed but he is still very much attracted to her.

"You will die, and for what?”
“For loving the wrong woman.”

description

Alasdair was very sexual. Isadora is more sensual but trust Ella Frank to give us the tension needed to make some spectacular steamy sex scenes.
You all know by know I'm fan of threesome but the word here takes a new meaning, a new level of heat.

Now I'm eager to know more. How this will end? How all three ' humans' are going to meet their goal? Is it the real purpose? How are the vampires going to deal with their feelings? How everything is going to wrap up and will I have an HEA?

See many more answers to come...

“Real betrayal can only be felt when you love someone.”

Isadora Nikitas is a beautiful and strong woman who experienced a crushing tragedy but her fate would have been much worse had it not been for Diomêdês. Since that time, Isadora became a powerful first sire to Diomêdês and while it has always been the two of them, Isadora feels an attachment to a human named Elias Fontana and wants a second chance for both herself and also to please the needs of her Ancient, Diomêdês.

description

description

While this book focuses on the tribulations and discoveries between Isadora, Diomêdês and Elias, this intricately weaved plot and uninterrupted timeline continues from Alasdair (Book one) as the creators seek to destroy this race of vampires. Unfortunately, Elias joins Leo as a chosen one to ruin Isadora and her race. Between Isadora and Elias, it becomes a test of inherent need and not just a clash of power but more of restraint. Then add Diomêdês to the dynamic and what occurs is tumultuous, passionate and also very hot!

“Once she was seated, her eyes flashed open and found his. Then she gave an indecent smile as Diomêdês skimmed his lips over her jaw and said, Now fuck her while I feed.”

Parallel to Isadora’s story, Alasdair, Vasilios and Leo continue to play a crucial role in counteracting the creators’ plan of annihilation. The realization of Leo’s power and his choice to be bonded with Alasdair and Vasilios starts to stack the odds against the creators. As these three finalize their bonds, it is nothing short of lustful and erotic. If you enjoy M/M/M, look no further!

“They were high on each other as they touched, licked, sucked and fucked…he could feel it in every fiber of his soul, and as they each exploded with each other.”

Additionally, we learn more about the complicated dynamic between Eton and his first sire, Thanos. To add more tension to the plot, Paris finally starts to receive messages from the creators as he learns he is also a chosen one. The potential with Paris is great for his messenger is ruthless. With the hope that Leo and Elias have been converted, the fate of the vampires is still unknown.

This series is very intriguing and I am enjoying how the past, present and mythos continue to influence each other. With varying POVs throughout the book and with vampires having the ability to enter minds and thoughts, I feel it enhances the character development. Furthermore, I like how the reader is taken back in time because it adds to the impact of those critical experiences. It important to note that these books are not standalones and should be read in order and as a series. While each book focuses on a certain Ancient and his first sire, the underlying plot continues to unfold layers of details and questions. I recommend this series to those looking for a solid plot by an author who can also singe the pages with hotness!

When I ventured into the Masters Among Monsters series, it was 100% based on my faith in Ella Frank...not my enjoyment of the PNR genre. Well, Ella AND the promise of MM in this series. Though with PNR, I have a rather difficult time wrapping it around my very literal brain, I've found this series fairly easy to digest (I say that loosely). Aside for the Greek language (thank you so much, my Greek goddess Pavlina) which threw me a few times, I was able to keep up with the past versus present and other world stuffs. Which is suprising considering vampires are a bit complex...and scary. But, let's face it, most PNR is also HOT!!!

Isadora, though titled in Isadora's name, revolves around multiple characters in this series. Though it expounded quite a bit with Isadora and her Ancient, Diomêdês, we continue to build the story of multiple characters. Alasdair and Leonidas get their story continued alongside Alasdair's Ancient, Vasilios. I wasn't really sure the direction she was going to go with these three but I'm pleased how it's turning out so far. Did I mention yet my international combustion with this aspect of the storyline? It's seriously hot yet it's a love story.

 photo 6CD4BE9A-685B-4008-9C3A-3451F7D8FFD1_zpsj9o42vba.jpg

Alright, just one more Alasdair teaser...

 photo 0D927D34-921F-4F5F-A9AB-BFF1780A6852_zpsmzqnfqke.jpg

And what happens of Eton and Thanos from the events in Alasdair? I must say the events on that aspect of the storyline have built enough to have me seriously intrigued and I cannot wait to see this next installment...Thanos.

I don't want to spoil anything in this series so I'll leave it as this- if you can stomach even an ounce of PNR, you should enjoy this book. Ella has constructed a complex world of vampires and Gods yet she breaks it down into the past and present with alternating POV's and it just works. At times I had to think back to who had what Ancient Greek history with who but soon within that chapter it seemed to clear itself up.

Ella Frank has constructed a world of vampires that harbor a fierce sense of loyalty and all things vampire grit, yet within their cold non-beating hearts lies emotions and a true sense of brotherhood...and love.

They were definitely governed by their intense moods and usually dark in nature. Yet at their core ran a deep sense of loyalty to one another.

Isadora
is suspenseful and gripping, erotic and sensual, dark and gritty. It'll keep your interest and leave you begging for more. This cannot be read as a standalone but, no worries, no cliffhangers are to be feared. It simply builds each story in each installment. There is MM, MMM, MF, and FF in this particular installment. I'm not particularly a fan of FF but the scene almost fades to grey and was well done. The other scenes, well, I think my ovaries combusted. I swear the steam in the last 15% of the book should've set my kindle afire.

I'd highly recommend this for MM fans, also fans of Ella Frank because, well, it's ELLA! But also PNR fans, obviously. If PNR isn't your cuppa I think it still can be read here with success. I'm proof of it.

Looking forward to Thanos coming in March 2016.

God. Where to even begin…

You will need to keep a firm grip on your wits, emotions and panties while reading Isadora and forget every thought you had on what this book might be. It is not a conventional romance and it is definitely unlike any other PNR book I have ever read. Absolutely brilliant!

With Isadora, we pick up where Alasdair left off, right in the middle of the confrontation between Isadora and Elias. I loved Isadora as a character. She is strong and intelligent and in a world ruled by those who are the most dominant and violent, she brings a certain feminine flair. We get to see a bit more of Isadora’s painful history and she becomes a little more ‘human’ during the course of the book. Although Isadora and her history do feature in the book, it is also a continuation of the story between Leonidas, Alasdair and Vasilios as well as a host of other characters.

Isadora is an intense and highly erotic story. This story weaves a very tangled web and I was kept on the edge of my seat and while some questions were answered, a lot more were presented. Cannot wait for the next book in this extremely enjoyable series.

Starting right where Alasdair ended, Isadora answers the questions Ella Frank so twisted-ly left hanging in book 1.

I’m not sure what else to say without revealing huge spoilers, so I’ll be exclusively talking about feelings and impressions. And if you haven’t read book 1, Alasdair, you should definitely read this one first or you would be lost (review here : Alasdair )

The intrigue in this second volume of Masters Among Monsters wasn’t as dark and mysterious but the plot definitely thickens around our vampires. With new players being introduced and truths being finally revealed, Ella Frank made of Isadora a suspenseful and alluring tale mixing greek mythology, paranormal and eroticism.

Be prepared for an all new level of filth, savagery and sexy times because faithful to Alasdair’s debuts, Isadora will beyond any doubts set you on fire. There were sex scenes to please everyone with a little F/F, M/F, M/M/F, M/M and M/M/M !

If you anticipated more of the sexy male trio introduced in book one, you’ll be happy to know there is more, so much more coming! I would even say that a good part of this book is dedicated to Vasilios, Alasdair and Leo. And the dynamic in their group took for an interesting turn… Although I was surprised to discover Vasilios under a new light, finding him less frightening than first presented in book 1… He still holds the light and owns his magnetism, but my personal opinion is that he is more talk than show. At least in this book.

Contrary to what the title left me expecting, I didn’t quite have my fill about Isadora and her Master, Diomêdes. We learn how Isadora became first Sire to Diomêdes and more about her past with Elias but the author made the choice to favor multiple point of views as well as flashbacks.

A little confusing but not useless at all, the povs made sense plot-wise and all lead to connect new events or served to reveal ancient truths.

But somehow along the way, the constant change between povs made it hard for me to stay focused and interested and I had to stop my reading twice. The anticipation I had to learn more about Isadora was tempered a little by the incessant interruptions of new characters’s povs.

Plot-wise Isadora assuredly stands her ground, I love where the author is taking us and I really can’t wait to read book 3 to have all my questions finally—hopefully— answered.

Oh, my god. OMG. Oh. My. God. I don't know what else to say, except those three words over and over and over. I've just now finished the incomparable Isadora, and I am crazy for this book. I binge read the entire thing today, and so many—so very, very many—times, I thought I didn't want it to end. I thought I loved the titular vampire and her passionate, interesting, compelling sire, Diomêdês. I thought that if I could read nothing but these characters ever again, I'd still be a very happy reader.

That's how much I loved this book. I might be destroyed for all others. And honestly, I have zero fucks to give about that.

Oh, Isadora. What can I say about this captivating vampire? She is nothing like I’d have imagined, and her passion, her love, her flame was just…gah, I don't have the words. I think my heart broke for her, just as it pounded and soared and swooned for the connection she shared with her sire, and with Elias. The moments between Isadora and those she loves/d were emotional in a way I wasn't expecting, and her conflict over who she loved and what that meant, not just for her but for those around her, got me. Right in the feels. I won't admit to crying, but I will admit to getting damn close. More than once.

But it's not just about Isadora. No, her book is also a showcase for Diomêdês, an Ancient vampire, and a man I want to call my own. Like his Isadora, I am gone for him—and I have no shame in admitting it. While the scorching Vasilios and his first-sired, Alasdair turned me on in the first Masters Among Monsters book, their cold, cruel natures made loving them not as easy (although I still did. Did I mention no shame?) Diomêdês, on the other hand, was easy to love. Easy to root for. Easy to want to know any-and-every thing about.

Isadora is the second book in this series, and as such, it picks up where the cliffhanger ending of Alasdair stranded us. It also leaves us with another cliffy moment—one that has me first in line to get my hands on Thanos, because the dynamics between the broken vampire and his Ancient, Eton, has me fascinated, enchanted and intrigued. I love how Ella Frank has taken the traditional sire/vampire relationship with these three and given each one its own twist, its own personality, its own dynamic. Like she did in book one, Ms. Frank has given the age-old vampire story a modern, unique spin and made it her own. And in the process, completely wowed me with it.

And to think, she did that while still making Isadora the kind of dirty sexy that makes your thighs press together and your face heat. With steamy hot moments between Alasdair, Leo and Vasilios, as well as sexy times spent with Isa and her loves, this book was, for me, a one-way ticket to a cold shower and the store for new stock of batteries.

Damn.

Or maybe I should just say what's still cycling through my mind. Oh. My. God. ~ Beth, 6 stars

~~~
Isadora Nikitas is one complex vampire. She’s known love and betrayal, but that doesn’t stop her from loving again. Yes, even vampires feel love if they allow themselves. Isadora has loved three people—including her Ancient, Diomêdês and the man who she now sees as her enemy, Elias Fontana.
Elias’ life prophecy is to destroy the vampires, but as he quickly realizes with his capture of Isadora, there’s a fine line between love and hate. A line both Elias and Isadora are crossing. Because sometimes love is more powerful than anything else.
I’m having difficulty articulating just how much I loved this book. Between the relationship Isadora shares with Diomêdês—a love so pure and trusting—and her love for Elias, Isadora is conflicted. And so is Elias. He’s supposed to be killing her, not loving her! And then there’s Leo, Alasdair and Vasilios. They’re creating a powerful bond, too. I love the interaction between Alasdair and Vasilios, and their shared love and opening of their hearts to Leo.
Yeah, yeah, vampires don’t have hearts, but damn, they have deeply buried feelings. I love Isadora and Alasdair’s uncertainties in their relationships with their Ancients as Leo and Elias are introduced. Add in Thanos and Eton’s relationship, bringing Paris into the mix, I’m torn as to which one of these amazing vampires is my favorite. ~ Missy, 5+ stars
 photo c63a21d1faa25476176257ea8ae797_zpstpjq0ouy.gif “You love me. I know that you do.” The conviction behind those words made Diomêdês’s heart ache. These two were struggling. Against not only each other, but what they felt. Their relationship would never be accepted by society. They would be shunned and, if this woman was indeed betrothed to Isadora’s brother, likely executed for their grievous sin. ”
It's no secret that I AM HUGE ELLA FRANK fan and I am constantly amazed on how wickedly she can consume and captivate her readers by constantly breaking the conventional mold and expectations. I love that Ella produces work that doesn't follow a specific standard as what should be in your typical PNR but instead she continues to douses her readers into a whole new world of imagination filled with suspense, grit, erotica, and mystery. And in her latest installment of Masters Among Monsters, Ms. Frank went beyond what I had expected the story of Isadora would be.
#Isadora
If you want to start ISADORA then I highly recommend you read the first book because this series must be read in order to fully understand the dramatic background of each characters. In this second installment, I thought the focus would be mostly of Isadora but I was shocked to see that Ms. Frank cleverly layeredd out different POVs within this book. She allowed her readers to get the full spectrum of the past and now. Each bits of information was like a clue to a jig-saw puzzle.
 photo a4334a43fc69e254a81594098e13fb_zps9xte6mfa.gif “Elias thought he’d never seen something so breathtaking than the two of them. Breathtaking and hot as hell. ”
While this book may have stepped up in the erotic aspect with the (M/M, M/F, M/M/M and F/F), the story of ISADORA is so much more. Since I don't want to spoil the story, I will say that this book had me hooked with the special dynamics and lure each character possessed. It is not just one character you are drawn to but each one had has the power to hypnotize, seduce, and taunt you with his or her appeal. I will say that if you want a book that will leave you begging for more of what is to come then I highly recommend you to read this series. Thank you Ella Frank for once again bewitching your readers with your spellbinding prose and raw characters.
I am digging this series. Set in a richly imagined fantasy world, this story is the epitome of a well-crafted tale of paranormal romance, with strong ties to Greek Mythology. It’s unconventional in a way, but that’s what I like about it.
I’ve read a few reviews that mention the lack of Isadora page time, which is a fair point considering it’s her title book, yet, in truth, she’s lucky to feature in 40% of the whole story. But here’s the thing: this series has nine main characters, each having their own points of view throughout this story. Some characters feature more than others, and the constant change in narrative made this book all the more addictive for me as a reader. I wasn’t all that upset that Isadora didn’t feature as heavily as I expected going in. This could have something to do with the fact that she was the only female character in what is essentially a cast of hot, mostly dangerous men, all of whom are highly appealing characters in their own right. I have priorities, what can I say?! *shrugs*
The romance aspect within this series is also unconventional. Where the nine MCs are concerned, I have basically separated them into 3 groups of 3 in my mind, with each group engaging in their own brand of an emotional and physical relationship. Threesomes aren’t my thing generally and I tend to avoid reading books which heavily feature this type of relationship dynamic, but I must say that here, in this particular story, what Ella Frank has masterfully created works. I find myself eager for each of the three-way dynamics, and I don’t just mean in a physical sense. I love the way these characters interact with one another. I’m quite enthralled by the Alasdair/Leo/Vasilios dynamic in particular, and I’m definitely keen to see what will unfold between Thanos, Paris and Eton in the final story.
Overall, not a bad addition to the series.
Although we still see a lot of Leo and Alasdair in this book (what... did you think their story was over???), this book primarily centered around Isadora and Elias. Like Alasdair and his Leo, Isadora is the one Elias is tasked to take out and he's the descendant of Artemis (Leo is from Apollo and Paris is from Hades). Eventually we see that these two share a history. A history full of love. And the love that these two shared never died and they both attempt to find a way to be together despite all of their obstacles. Despite what Elias has done to Isadora and Thanos, Diomedes grudgingly welcomes him and gives him a chance to earn their trust.
Goodness, the histories of these vampires breaks my heart. Each view we get is another glimpse into their humanity and I realized that Diomedes may be the most compassionate and "humanistic" character of them all.
The end gives a lead in to Book 3, which will be about Thanos, and we see that Eton is brokenhearted. I can't wait to find out more about these particular men and how they came to find each other.
SIRED OUT OF LONELINESS
“Always burn brightly, my Isa! ”
This book picks up straight where Alasdair left off. Of course this is thr story of Isadora and her Ancient, Diomêdês. But not only, since we do get a lot (hot action) of Alasdair, Vasilios & Leo too, as well some of the third cousin Thanos.
I was captivated by Isadora’s story and was truly fascinated by the intense, and even caring, relationships between the Ancients and their first sired.
Isadora Nikitas, the emperor’s daughter, caught the eye of Diomêdês Michou, brother of Vasilios.
His eyes sought her out and Diomêdês knew.
She was to be his first-sired.
The one he’d bind his life with.
She was the one.
Elias Fontana, 37, director of the National History Museum and in charge of the exhibit: The Gods and Myths of Ancient Greece.
Elias and Isadora have been involved about ten years ago but Isadora left him when he became too important and she was not ready to face Diomêdês about her feelings. Elias was the man who gave her physical pleasure and awoken feelings in her she thought she was not able to have.
With Elias being the ringleader of the gods seeking the demise of the vampire the Ancients are very pleased with the capture of him as well as the third member, Paris Antoniou.
Isadora manages to plead her case to Diomêdês and they share a passionate night together.
While his Ancient is becoming more and more enthralled with Leo, Alisdair is getting quite insecure about his place with Vasilios “Perhaps I haven’t been clear of late with everything that has transpired. Do not doubt me, my Alasdair. I would worship at your feet, ómorfo mou agorí. You are of my blood, you are my life, and you are the only one who understands all the dark places inside me and the light we both crave.” Alasdair & Vasilios take the final action towards Leo “Tonight, it happens. The ritual to make you fully ours. Tonight, you will be ours and we will be yours. Tonight, you shall be worshipped.”
While Alasdair, Vasilios & Leo solidify their bond and Isadora, Diomêdês & Elias take tentative step towards trust, the third Ancient Eton is in severe distress over the accident that happened to Thanos, his first-sired. Being severely mutilated Thanos is dwelling in self-pity, rejecting Eton and shutting him out, leaving Eton no choice other than to break the bound between them.
I just need to get to book three!!
At the end of the 1st book, Alasdair, (here's my review) his story is not quite finished so upon learning that the 2nd book is titled, Isadora, it clicked then that each book, while focused on one character for the most part, actually moves the story forward in its entirety.
So here, we do learn more about Isadora, her past, her connection with her sire, her history with Elias and how tethered they are to each other.We're also learning more about how Leonidas, Elias, and Paris play into the world of Alasdair, Isadora, and Thanos, and their sires.
Isadora knows pain with the loss she's endured. And with the recent change in her dynamics with Elias, it showed that the their past is not quite buried in the past. Elias, whether he wanted to acknowledge his feelings or not for Isadora, is just as affected. Thanos is now facing the consequences of the events from the first book. Their sires, including Alasdair's, is preoccupied with how things are going down. And last but certainly not least, Alasdair and Leonidas were further making sense of what they mean to each other...
It's quite engrossing reading about this world that Ella has created, the vampire world vis-a-vis the mythological world. I didn't think it would make sense. It still doesn't fully make sense seeing there's still a third book to this, but the roles each one play, how it affect others, the flashback to the past, the connection they have in the present time, the dichotomous feelings, like I said, all fascinating.
And seeing this is erotica, can't forget the sizzling moments, the passion and interplay among the key players. While I thought that Ella could have pushed it a bit more in Alasdair, I guess I got what I wish for here.On the one hand, there's a lot of sexual tension building up to the passion, a lot of almost-but-not-quite moments; frustrating and glee-inducing at the same time. Yet, on the other hand, the moment things happened, a lot of it did indeed push my limits in my erotica read, and paranormal to boot. There's a bit of everything that will satisfy every erotica readers out there, as in a bit of M/M, F/F, menage, and voyeurism, in addition to straight erotica; like I said, as in a bit of everything. These vampires def have their needs, haven't they!
If you're ok with this, even if you're not a PNR reader like me, then I think it's a good way to get lost in this world that Ella's built and ultimately read about loss, pain and love.
Next up, Thanos. Yay!
As impressive as the first time if not better!!!
Vasilious, Alasdair and Leo are hot together.
“Do not doubt me, my Alasdair. I would worship at your feet, ómorfo mou agorí. You are of my blood, you are my life, and you are the only one who understands all the dark places inside me and the light we both crave.”
“Open your eyes, Alasdair Kyriakoús,” he ordered. “Open your eyes and see me, see us.”
This installment is Isadora's story. I found the history of Isadora and her Ancient Diomêdês very interesting. And later on together with Elias they were perfect and scorching hot....
One hell of a threesome.
"Now, fuck her while I feed."
I've always been intrigued by the Greek Mythology and I'm so excited how this last "threesome"; Ancient Eton, his first sired Thanos and the human Paris will fit into that last installment.
I'll be studying The Scriptures of Delphi.
First read: 2016, January 25th
Some of the most "hot" scenes I have ever read!!! This was again AWESOME.
"Just because it does not beat does not mean we don't experience the same conflicts we once would have.
We have just learned to push aside emotions that make us weak. But for some, they are easier to find."
Can not wait for March 15th, Thanos and Eton's story. And I guess we'll get Paris as well.
Such an intriguing series.
Masters Among Monsters is the epitome of a nonconventional PNR. The reason I only rated this 3 stars is purely due to my personal preference towards something more conventional.
First of all, there are simply too many POVs. Everyone seems to have their own voice in here. I don't even know who is the person I should be focusing on. I was expecting a romance between the female vap, Isadora and the vamp hunter, Elias. But that's not the case.
We get some serious dose of M/M/M between Leo, Alasdair and Vasilio. I love my M/M, but I honestly feel that three is a crowd. The worst is the F/F scene between Isadora and her lover. I was seriously caught off guard by that. Don't get me started with Isadora's master, Diomedes. Why is everyone here are into some sort of menage.
I see that most of my GR friends seem to love this one. I guess I'm more of a traditional woman who prefer her clean cut romance. Masters Among Monsters is too confusing, taboo and all over the place for me.
This second book starts off where the first one ended.
Isadora has been 'taken hostage' by Elias. He could've and should've killed her already, but he hasn't. Why?
They used to be in love eleven years ago. For six months, she was his whole life.
And then, just like that, she was gone.
And now he has to find out that she's part of the Vampire-group that he's been created to destroy??
Damn her for being the one he could never forget.
And the one he was destined to destroy.
Also, still very much in danger is our darling Leo.
Alasdair and his ancient are not yet finished with him (is that a good or a bad thing you might ask?! ☺☺☺) ..... but he might be able to help them find Isadora...
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ISADORA & ELIAS???
AND TO ALASDAIR & LEO???
WILL THANOS SURVIVE?
WILL ANY OF THEM HAVE A CHANCE FOR A HEA???
WILL THERE BE A HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER?
description
I'm not telling you that of course ☺
description
Ok - no big Cliffhanger! But we need #Thanos ASAP!
A great second book in this new series.
Book #1 ended really Cliffy-ish and I just had to know what was going to happen to Alasdair & Isadora & Thanos and their not-so-human humans.... Leo, Elias & Paris.
This book was VERY erotic and super-exciting ...
You want them all to survive and find their Happy Ever After...But they're Vampires and Vampire Killers - so it's not all that easy..☺
Even though this book is called #Isadora, it's about all of the 'Cousins' - not just about Isa and her ex Elias and her ancient Diomêdês, Leo, Alasdair & Vasilios's story is not yet finished, and Thanos with his ancient Eton and his not-so-human Paris get started with their story...
I really enjoyed this book!
A definite #MustRead for fans of very erotic paranormal romances with lots of M/M love and even a few F/F fantasies.... ☺
Isadora (Masters Among Monsters #2) by Ella Frank
5 stars!!
“Damn her for being the one he could never forget. And the one he was destined to destroy.”
I am not a huge paranormal reader, I even body swerved it at any and every opportunity before I became addicted to anything that Amy Bartol penned thanks to a friend that strong armed me to read it, but sometimes you have to hold your hands up and admit you were wrong.
I have followed Ella Frank from the beginning, an author I stumbled across thanks to an Amazon recommendation and I have never looked back. Ella Frank has turned her hand to many genres and in my opinion she has excelled in all of them, I have to put my hands up and say is there anything that Ella Frank cannot write? This is one author whose writing style I can connect with, Ella Frank never fails to draw me into her stories and her characters. She always nails character connection to the point where I personally am totally immersed in their life and feel like I am living it, that is an amazing talent to have and not many authors can pull it off.
“Se empistevome. I trust you.”
I loved the first book in this series, Alasdair, and I was eagerly anticipating reading Isadora. I had become so immersed in this world of vampires that Ella Frank had painstakingly created that I didn’t want to leave and the next book could not come soon enough. So, when Isadora hit my kindle I was buzzing with anticipation, after the ending of Alasdair I needed to dive in and so I did.
“I believe it was a footprint of sorts. A moment imprinted in time.”
Once again it did not take long to be whisked away into Ella’s world of our incredibly hot Greek God sired vampires. A clan that were fighting for their survival and after Alasdair, a clan that knew they were up against an unknown yet formidable opponent. In this book the story continues on from Alasdair so it is imperative that you have read Alasdair before starting Isadora. While this book does centre around Isadora and her sire Diomedes it also centres around her past/present relationship with Elias. Alasdair, Vasilios, Leo, Thanos et al however, still have a major part to play and their stories are continued throughout this book.
“What kind of monster have you become?”
“The one you have made me.”
There is something for everyone in this book, in true Ella Frank style she turns up the heat with some exquisite and heart wrenching M/M, M/M/M, M/F, M/F/M and F/F scenes, nothing gratuitous and all scenes having their part to play in this amazing story. As I mentioned in my Alasdair review I love the history that is woven in amongst this story and find myself being transported back to Ancient Greece as Ella Frank paints the history of these vampires with intense clarity. The fight continues for these vampires and while I would love to go into details it would ruin it for you the reader so I will have to refrain.
“If your god is up there, I am sure he will soon show his hand. Because, as of now, his pawn has become my queen.”
This series is proving to be one intense read, the suspense element keeps the pages turning frantically while the angst is perfectly balanced with their pasts and their romantic liaisons. This is a story about incredible bonds, loyalty, love and lust all interlaced with the ever present threat of danger, sacrifice and ultimately death. While this web is extremely tangled Ella Frank steers you through their stories with visceral descriptions, intense dialogue and deep connections that cannot fail to grab you by the heart.
“You are the strength in my backbone, the fire in my blood. You are the conviction in my actions, and with you beside me, it is easy to be brave.”
I take my hat off to you once again Ella Frank, I cannot express how much I am in love with this series and am desperately itching for more. Thanos is up next and knowing the pain and depression that this formidable Vampire is currently going through I cannot wait to see how his story is going to evolve while still keeping up with all the others. The fact that the life and demeanour of a vampire directly affects their sire and Eton’s pain is so vividly reflected throughout this story just pulls me into Thanos’s story even more. Will the prophecies come true or will Vasilios, Diomedes and Eton keep their family from an untimely and unwarranted demise?
“And you are far too interesting to hide away in a room full of darkness and shadows.”
Bring it on, as quick as possible please!
Ya’ll, I just do not know what to say. I am almost speechless because I really loved the first book in this series, Alasdair. It was sexy and mysterious and I fell in love with Leo and Alasdair but nothing and I mean absolutely nothing prepared me for how much I would love Isadora. I want to start by saying that you MUST MUST MUST read Alasdair first because it is the first book in this series and it definitely has a cliffy and while in this book we get to know Isadora and Thanos and their sires better, you also get a continuation of Alasdair and Leo’s story. They are all very intertwined, in fact, and that is one of the main reasons I freaking loved this book.
Oh, and Ella Frank you are a naughty girl! You had me pretty much hating the vampires, well all except Alasdair but this time around I grew to love and sympathize with them and man, now point of view is completely changed and I have no idea what is up from down or good from bad or what! YOU TOTALLY SHOCKED ME AND SURPRISED ME! And I love that too!
So this story just had SO MUCH ACTION and not just the kind in the sack. So much happens in this book. Some questions are answered but even more and more questions arise. Guys, I could not stop turning the pages. Gah! So we get Isadora’s story. We get to watch Thanos and Paris finally meet! EEP! We get to visit some more with Alasdair and Vasilios and Leo for some man/man/man action. (No, there is not an echo in here) Just in case you don’t know what I mean:
And good lordy sweet baby Jesus, it is smoking hot! In my humble opinion Ella Frank writes the absolute hell outta some m/m, or mmm mmm as I like to call it, so if you add another hot man in (and they are vampires) it is just out of this world sexy!
I just loved this one. I found such pleasure in finding out about everyones past and getting a little clue in on the future but oh man there are so many questions yet to be answered and I absolutely cannot wait for Paris and Thanos. I just know there story is going to be epic! Ahh, Ms. Frank. Hurry. Hurry.
Let me again preface with this. Don't go into this sequel thinking the main focus will only be on vampire Isadora. Instead this literally starts where the first book ended and continues to delve into the central mystery of what a trio of "chosen" humans have to do with the destiny of three vampires.
As Meags has said, this series focuses on these three groups of three, each comprising a human and 2 vampires, and each with its own fascinating and titillating dynamic. Not a lot of questions are answered but the plot was definitely propelled forward.
Again, props to Frank. She continues to write an engaging story full of sensuality and mystery. Granted the mystery is still up in the air, but I foresee a fortuitous outcome rather than a nefarious intent. Take note that though the sexual tension and innuendo is as high as ever, an abundance of actual full on smex is still lacking as it did in the first. Perhaps take heart that there's a smorgasbord of variety - filled with voyeurism, exhibitionism, as well as mm, mmm, mf, and ff relationships throughout. Regardless, I'm hooked, and I truly look forward to the finale.
Bir şeyleri anlayabilmenin mutluluğuyla çok daha keyifle okudum bu kitabı.
Leo ve Elias'nın durumları az çok belli oldu. Sırada Paris var; ama ben asıl Thanos, Eton için ne yapacak onu merak ediyorum.
With the way the last book ended, I needed this in my hands. While this is Isadora's book we do get a lot of Vas, Leo, & Alasdair as well. What I wish was that their story was finished in their book and this was all about Isa. Don't get me wrong, I loved reading about them but sometimes I felt like her story was getting overshadowed.
And can I be honest? The only reason I read this was for Vas, Leo and Alasdair. I wasn't sure if I wanted Isa's story but I did end up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would've.
“I’ve always missed the light in my life, the rays of the warm sun. And the day I saw you, you lit up the temple as if the light had been coming from within. I wanted that light and I wanted Alasdair’s darkness.”
Risky mix this one... M/M, F/F, M/F... am I missing any possible combination? Oh yep! Threesomes... threesomes everywhere LOL M/M/M, M/F/M.... sweet jesus hahahahahaha
The sexual part of this story is definitely not my cuppa. Didn't buy it, sorry. I don't mind ménage à trois once in a while... but three people are involved in every single one of the love stories in this series. It's too much. I know it's part of the mythology Ella has created, some Percy Jackson meets Twilight with a touch of kink, but it's not something I particularly enjoy reading. I still wanna read the third book because I'm intrigued about what's gonna happen with all the and other stuff.
**5 Sexy Vamp Stars!**
Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better, BAM! Isadora completely wowed me! This is book #2 in the series and it picks up right where Alasdair (book one) leaves you hanging. Alasdair was one of my top reads of 2015 and Isadora has secured her spot for 2016. And YES, you most definitely need to read this series in order or you will be thoroughly messed up.
The book may be titled Isadora, but you get a good healthy dose of all of your favorite sexy vamps from the first book. I love the way that these relationships cultivate from book one into book two, and I personally was so excited to reunite with my favorite trio, Alasdair, Leo & Vasilios. I absolutely fell more in love with them, and I was so excited to see Leo come out of his shell and stand up for himself and what he wanted. Vasilios was my favorite from the first book, and he still is, but damn these other characters are giving him a run for his money!
By other characters, I’m talking about Isadora, Elias and Diomedes. I absolutely LOVE the dynamic between these three!! Like major love! Diomedes completely stole the show in my opinion. Isadora is his first sired, and the lengths he goes through to make her happy and protect her just made me totally fall for him. And then there’s Daphne. Oh boy. This was another first for me, and damn was it sexy as hell. Between Elias, Daphne, and Diomedes, let’s just say that Isadora has had her fill of sexy time, she is one lucky lady vampire!
You also get to know Eton and Thanos. Eton is an ancient along with Vasilios and Diomedes, and his first sired is Thanos. The stuff that these ancients do in order to preserve their species is truly amazing and sweet. I don’t want to say that it’s sweet, but it totally is. These brutal killers, who supposedly have no heart, are some of the most heartwarming characters in this series, in my opinion. They may seem completely selfish, but when it comes to their family they give up so much, and turn into strong yet vulnerable beings. I love them!
This book really took hold of my heart, not that the first book didn’t, but maybe because I know the characters better this time around. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t cry, because I totally did. I was so invested in what was going on with Isadora and her revelations, but also with what was going on with Leo, Paris and Elias. There were a lot of WOAH moments for sure, so much cool stuff goes on in this book and I can’t rave about it enough! Not only is this story erotic, it’s also breathtakingly beautiful in its words. Ella Frank has never let me down when it comes to telling a story that not only captivates you, but completely consumes you. And that ending! Oh I cannot wait to read more about Thanos in book #3. This is for sure a must read series.
*** Oh yes, we are back in full swing with lustful vampires !! ***
The desperate wanting of the vampires is excruciating and divine ! The need, the desire, the searching for their one truest love, the bond they seek sometimes includes another. The number three being all encompassing here. Isadora
Visions of the past were crucial to the contemporary events. Secrets, control, power, deception, all come into play. Diomedes
Elias
Along this fragile path there is hot sex, a male ménage interrupted ( at first, then fulfilled later), F/F, M/F, M/M, and current desires could mean anything. So much desire in this tale of lust. The question comes to light; is being a vampire a gift or a curse ? Was the fire in Leo's blood equal to the sun - that burns and kills - as Apollo - God of the Sun?
The significance of the number three was not lost on this reader... did you catch it?
We get Vasilios, Alasdair and Leonidas, who are the
1) Ancient one, 2)the first sire and 3)their new yield.
Then we have Diomedes, Isadora and Elias.
Who will be the next threesome?
I highly recommend this delicious, violent, sexy, fantastic vampire tale. ENJOY !!!
=====================================
It has a HFN, but I happily await the next one, "Thantos" so I can learn even more from these awesome characters.
Isadora starts right where Alasdair left off. Isadora is in big trouble. Alasdair and Vasilios are in the process of handling Leo. Thanos is barely hanging on.
There is an underlying mystery as to how the vampires are connected to the three friends Leo, Elias, and Paris. And it is all coming together in one unpredictable and dangerous conflict.
As I stated in my Alasdair review, I rarely read paranormal or vamp books anymore, but I am hooked on this series and these characters. This book is INTENSE! I think I held my breath or fanned myself through most of it. There is so much going on. There are such intricate layers to the story and dynamics between the characters. There are mysteries and secrets. It is mesmerizing, wicked, erotic, and suspenseful.
This one does focus on Isadora, her sire Diomedes, and Elias. But it also explores much more with Alasdair, Vasilios, and Leo and allows us to see more with Paris, Thanos and his sire, Eton. All of the stories are intriguing, have depth, and are captivating and complex.
The story revolves around love, death, sacrifice, fear, lust, bonds, manipulation, destiny, and danger. Every positive or erotic act seems to be layered with deadly intentions or threats. But there are deep connections forming that are hard to control or explain and that bring out more challenges.
My heart broke for some of the pain these characters have faced and I could only hope that somehow through the confusion and chaos that they would find their way towards fulfilling the voids they were experiencing.
I love the whole trio of Alasdair, Vasilios, and Leo. They are all so commanding, stubborn, intense, and hot together. And even though Elias could make me angry and frustrated, I came to understand his conflict. I also enjoyed the story lines surrounding him, Isadora, and Diomedes and learning about their painful pasts. I admired Isadora and how she had faced challenges and became empowered. But for a vampire, she still seemed to have a heart, empathy, and loyalty. I felt for Thanos who was in such despair. And also for Paris who was thrust into this confusing, precarious situation without an anchor or much knowledge.
The plot was full and intriguing with both interpersonal issues and with the suspenseful prophecy story line in the background. I find the whole concept surrounding this story fascinating. The characters are well developed, interesting, powerful, and perfectly flawed. It was told in multiple points of view including all of the main characters in present and in flashbacks. It drew me in and I very easily became sucked back into this compelling vampire world full of wicked debauchery and danger.
As I was getting closer to the end, I was becoming more and more intrigued by Thanos and then all of a sudden it was over. I was ready to keep going. I need his story now! I am captivated by this scarred, sad, angry vampire, his relationship with his sire, and the person who has stumbled into his life in his darkest hour.
I honestly cannot wait to see how all of their stories progress, for the big picture to be revealed, and to spend more time with these characters. Bring on Thanos!
Ella Frank nous offre ici un tome encore plus complexe que le précédent. Plusieurs histoires s'entremêlent ; le passé et le présent se télescopent et côté romance, la facilité n'est toujours pas de mise.
La vedette de ce tome, c'est Isadora, splendide femme vampire créée par Diomêdês.
Dans cet univers paranormal navigant entre Grèce antique et monde contemporain, vampires et 1er vampire 'enfanté' partagent un lien spécial, un peu comme s'ils étaient des âmes sœurs. L'un ne va pas sans l'autre, et quand l'un est en danger, ou sérieusement blessé, l'autre en ressent les conséquences. Isadora et Diomêdês n'ont pas de liaison, mais ce lien est très fort. Aussi, quand Elias (le boss de Leo, un des héros du tome 1) rentre dans la partie, l'équilibre est menacé. Équilibre d'autant plus menacé que les intentions d'Elias envers Isadora et les siens n'ont rien de pacifique.
On retrouve aussi le trio masculin Leo/Alasdair/Vassilios, et le moins qu'on puisse dire c'est qu'avec ces trois-là, Ella Frank nous affole et nous émoustille avec des scènes caliente au possible, même si on reste relativement sage étant donné l'appétit sexuel des vampires ... Un cap décisif est franchi dans leur relation, et dans cette séquence comme dans tout le reste du livre, l'auteur prend tout son temps pour dévoiler ses cartes, une à une ; elle entretient savamment le suspense et la frustration en offrant ces chapitres courts et rythmés et en faisant, comme à son habitude, varier avec un très grand talent les POV des différents protagonistes (et il y en a un paquet !).
Enfin, il y a Eton, Thanis et Paris, qui ne sont pas très présents mais qui ont des scènes vraiment fortes. Je suis très curieuse de voir ce qui leur arrivera dans le troisième tome 3 !
On découvre aussi, et sans trop de surprise, la véritable identité (et destinée) des trois humains de la série, mais là encore, ce n'est pas aussi simple que cela (même si, dit comme ça quand on découvre qui ils sont, il faut avouer que c'est quand même assez marrant.).
J'avais été un peu mitigée sur le 1er tome, parce que mes attentes étaient beaucoup trop élevées. Du coup là, je n'étais pas particulièrement exigeante et j'ai été agréablement surprise. Une fois encore, j'ai été charmée et captivée par la richesse de cet univers mythologique et par les relations à différents niveaux entre les personnages. L'atmosphère de huis-clos, cette sensation d'épée de Damoclès sur le point de leur tomber sur la tête à tous renforce l'atmosphère lourde du livre, et ce n'est pas les retours dans le passé qui vont éclaircir les choses ...
Et puis il y a cette écriture d'Ella Frank, incisive, percutante et sensuelle, et, je le redis, cette excellence à alterner les POV de ses personnages (même si pour moi, les sommets en la matière ont été atteints avec la série Temptation).
En résumé ? Un très bon deuxième tome, se terminant ENCORE sur un cliffhanger, et quel cliffhanger ! O.o
Isadora is immensely erotic. It has a sex scene or two for everyone (M/M, M/F, F/F, M/M/M, etc.). Well played, Ms. Ella Frank, well played. I savored them all.
The storyline to Masters Among Monsters grows substantially in this book. Alasdair was über seductive. Isadora is just as sexually provocative, but it also lays major foundation in the mythology and exudes powerful feelings. The relationship between and background stories of Isadora and Diomêdês gave me heart pains. Their love is so deep and so different from the others.
I enjoy when puzzles, symbols and mysteries need solving within a series. Where is this plot headed? *big smile* I can't wait to find out.
