Full-color photographs of some of the most popular games of the 1950s and '60s highlight the genre's best--and wackiest--game boxes, boards, and playing pieces. Mini-biographies of legendary game inventors and businesses complement the text, while photo captions provide basic and amusing information about each game pictured. 150 photographs.
This is a book that is geared for nostalgia. Sadly it is something I have no nostalgia for; board games in the 50's and 60's. The book is divided into sections and contains photographs of many interesting old board games, some based on pop culture, others that are older versions of now classics. The book doesn't have a lot of information which was the reason I gave it 3 stars. I wanted to know more about these games, and instead I was just given a cute picture of them.
