Flight attendant Maxwell Lewis has spent years cultivating a bon vivant image only to find he finally wants something more—and that something more includes the never-does-repeats game designer Gibson Henry.
ABOVE AND BEYOND
Maxwell Lewis is proud of the life he’s made. Having turned tragedy into triumph, he’s now a beloved member of a Target Airlines cabin crew with more than his fair share of attention both in the air and on the ground. But lately he’s wanted something more than the occasional hook-up or sometime sex buddy—particularly after meeting game designer and passenger Gibson Henry.
Talented and driven, Gibson has built a company ready to be the next big thing in gaming. Devoted to his work, he takes onetime pleasures where he find them and never does repeats…which is what he tells handsome, sexy Maxwell Lewis after a little mile-high flight attendance. But a chance encounter in a London club is about to change things forever. Two men, one who’s flown solo and another who’s only ever played alone, are about to find that at some point all games come to end, it’s time to bare your heart and try for love.
Susan writes steamy, sexy and fun contemporary romance stories, some suspenseful, some gritty and dark and hopefully always entertaining. She’s also Editor in Chief at Divine Magazine, an online LGBTQ e-zine, and a member of The Society of Authors, the Writers Guild of Great Britain, and the Authors Guild in the US.
Susan is also an award-winning script writer, with scripts based on two of her own published works. Sight Unseen has garnered no less than five awards to date and her TV pilot, Reel Life, based on her debut novel, Cassandra by Starlight, was also a winner at the Oaxaca Film Fest.
The ‘unofficial’ stuff…
She loves going to the theatre, live music concerts (especially if it’s her man crush Adam Lambert or the divine Cumberbatch) walks in the countryside, a good G and T, lazing away afternoons reading a good book, and watching re-runs of Silent Witness and Wire in the Blood.
Her chequered past includes stories like being mistaken for a prostitute in the city of Johannesburg, being chased by a rhino on a dusty Kenyan road, getting kicked out of a youth club for being a ‘bad influence’ (she encourages free thinking) and having an aunt who was engaged to Cliff Richard .
Flying Solo is book 6 in the Men of London Series and a perfect addition.
The prologue is like a punch to the gut as we watch Mooch’s life fall apart on the streets at a very young age. Mooch turns that devastation into something good as he pulls back his life and almost reinvents himself but he never forgets that fateful night or the loss he suffered.
Maxwell Lewis is a survivor. Well liked in his job as a cabin crew member, fun to be around and with a high sex drive that often involves plane toilets, chances are if you have been with the man you feature and rank somewhere on sexcella. He’s looking for that perfect score and just recently he has become far more eager to find it. He wants what his friends have – someone to come home to and someone to fall in love with. Where previously just the thought made him shudder he is now almost desperate to find it, the sooner the better. Even though he has moved on in his life his past still remains like a cloud, you see this is in the way he lives, the way he stores his belongings and his vulnerability. He hasn’t let Levi go altogether.
Gibson Henry has the look of an angel and the temper of the devil, well in my mind anyway. Sexy, slutty and rarely up for a repeat performance his life revolves around work and building up his company alongside his best friend. A quick and satisfying encounter with Maxwell whilst on a flight should be just that, quick and satisfying, but it becomes a memory that lingers and teases until they bump into each other in a club a few weeks later. I still can’t get the vision of Maxwell performing the crane in the middle of a gay bar and feel I should thank the author for that!
Flying Solo is emotional, sassy and fun. It brings together a man terrified of commitment and another so desperate for it he can almost taste it. If they can just get over their hang ups and their pasts they may hit that perfect 5!
I don't know how I've gone this long and not read one of Susan Mac Nicol's books, but this is actually the first one of hers that I've had a chance to read...and so of course now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to enjoy her writing. Because I truly did enjoy Flying Solo, and now I can't wait to get started on her entire backlist.
I'm always up for a story where players find "the one", especially those self-admitted players who have the idea in their heads that they're nowhere close to wanting to settle down. Getting to watch them do an about face and develop a meaningful relationship with that one person who is their match? Always priceless, and Flying Solo pulls this off quite nicely with one main character, Maxwell, knowing he wants to stop his player ways and settle down and the other, Gibson, being the one who thinks he's not ready to do the same. It was great seeing them meet over and over, slowly developing their relationship over time.
Maxwell's past adds some tension and angst to the story, providing some hurdles for them both to get past, and Gibson has family drama to ramp up the emotional aspect. I loved how they supported each other through everything and became stronger as a couple. Though some issues become more threatening to their relationship, giving the story more complexity and pulling you in deeper as you root for resolution to it all...because Maxwell and Gibson match each other so well, you will want to see them work it all out.
Fans of M/M romance will really enjoy Flying Solo just as I did-this was a really good 4-star read for me, and I'd recommend it to fans of the genre who are 18+ for adult language and M/M sexual content. This story has me adding the author to my list of favorite M/M authors!
There are certain qualities I tend to look for in a Susan Mac Nicol book. One of those, is spunky, quick witted characters. This book hit the nail on the head with that one!
Flying Solo was a rather quick and pleasant read. Hot and sexy as usual, but leave it to Susan to toss in an incredibly sweet and heartbreaking undertone. I was almost brought to tears at the tenderness in this story. She knows just how to get me!!
I really fell for Maxwell. The way he kept his things around him and the longing he had. I don't want to say too much, but ugh... tugged at my heartstrings for sure!
I know I'm harping on the sweet and sad because that was a big part, but there was definitely also sarcasm, fun, flirting and oh so much hotness! I'll never look at a bottle of water the same way again!!! Thanks Susan!
Awesome addition to the Men Of London Series!

This might be my favorite of the books I've read in this series thus far. And look at that arse on the cover. Mmmm ... now that's a thing of beauty.
Maxwell is not the prickly, jaded man he pretends to be. He's lonely and ready to settle down with someone real. Max is a flight attendant and has spent years fulfilling his needs with quickie mile-high blow jobs. When he sees a gorgeous twink with blonde curls and geeky glasses, he's smitten immediately.
Too bad Gibson blows him off completely.
Payback's a bitch.
Gibson, a game developer who owns his own business with his best friend Jack (I adored Jack! Best straight friend EVER), comes across as a narcissistic diva initially, but he redeems himself a hundred times over.
I absolutely loved these two together. Max falls for Gibson head over heels. Gibson is scared of relationships, but he craves Max and slowly realizes that falling in love is not so bad after all.
Gibson takes care of Max when Max falls ill, and Max is there for Gibson when tragedy strikes Gibson's family. Max didn't have the support Gibson did growing up. He was a street kid and lost everything he had one night in the bitter cold.
There's so much sweetness in this book, and plenty of sexy times too. None of the angst felt manufactured or heavy. Even when Max loses his shit at the end, the relationship is strong enough to survive it. I loved that Gibson didn't give up on Max, and that Max didn't push Gibson away.
The last chapter had me cheering. This one doesn't end with a traditional HEA, but it was sparkly all the same.
I hate to bring this up, because I really enjoyed the story, but the many, many typos were quite distracting. Susan Mac Nicol is a talented writer. There's no excuse for such poor editing.

Flying solo was the first book I read in this series and can be read as a standalone.
It was a great read, easy, enjoyable and not over the top.
The life of a flight attendant can make having a relationship hard, but when Max meets computer geek Gibson on his flight his ready to try.
The relationship between these two was easy going, like any relationship it took time which was great to see and Susan did a great job of not rushing the scenes between timeframe but also not dragging them on with the same period of time.
Look forward to seeing what else Susan has written
Maxwell is an air steward with a past and one day when he is working he realises that he wants to settle with someone. He wants to make a life for himself. He has had the one night stands and his fun but making a life with someone is more appealing to him now. He loves his job but he has a past.
Gibson is a man who knows what he wants. He meets Max on a plane and then they hook up. Another chance encounter at a bar with Max being an alpha male and over protective which was so damn adorable. They slowly get to know each other but disaster strikes and grief ensues.
I adored watching these two men learn to be there for each other. To cherish & love each other.
There is something so damn special in the way that they treat each other & I love it. I'll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
A book that makes me cry right off the bat...kind of scary but thankfully it didn't last throughout the entire book. Whew. We met Max in a previous book as the flirty flight attendant and hook-up of one of the other MCs so I was happy to get his story. As Mooch, he slayed me. As Maxwell, he charmed me. I just loved him. And Gibson was just the cutest thing. So caught up in his computer coding he doesn't see anything around him. Geek to the core. A hot, twinky geek but still.... I loved every character in this book. The sexual teasing of Gibson's bff, hilarious. I got sad and mad and happy and was all over the place. Great addition to the series.
I liked this story and I liked Max and Gibson together.
The only issue I had, and it's not with the book, is Gibson's name was Gibson Henry. And everytime I saw his full name, all I could think about was Henry Gibson, that actor who was on Laugh In and had all the weird characters. So that kinda spoiled the book but it wasn't the book's fault!!
Flying Solo is book #6 in Susan Mac Nicol's Men Of London Series and it's the sexy Maxwell' s story who we met in Suit yourself as Oliver's friend with benefits.
Maxwell Lewis has spent years living a life of occasional hook ups and carte Blanche status in The Mile High Club. Maxwell's life was one of tragedy which he's turned around and has been working as a cabin crewman for Target Airlines. He enjoys traveling the world but as of late he's beginning to realize something is missing, with seeing his friends all happily paired off with lovers Maxwell yearns for that connection and to be able to come home to that someone special instead of his empty flat. While on one of his flights Maxwell spots a geeky beautiful passenger named Gibson Henry and when confronted with each other his world as he's known it takes a sudden turn and I will say this.. watching this unfold had me glued to my seat and falling in love.
Gibson Henry is this geeky talented game developer who with his best friend has started up their own gaming company and he's devoted to making his company number one and finds pleasure in occasional hookups with a "No Repeats" rule so after a brief mile high encounter with the sexy cabin crew member Maxwell things begin to change when a brief encounter at a London club brings these two together and sparks fly and life as these two knew will never be the same.
I absolutely love this whole series it's so hard to pick a favorite character. I have fallen in love with each one for different reasons but I will admit this story touched my heart and I've claimed Maxwell as mine. That's right I'm greedy and will not share him, his character grabbed me by the heart and Susan in true magnificent form has once again written another brilliant masterpiece. This story flowed perfectly, to see how one can overcome tragedy and loss and meet that certain someone that can bring you back and make you feel and fall in love again.
The feelings in this story were so emotional I cried with both Maxwell and Gibson but then I was laughing at the banter between these two especially when we were reading their POV on subjects it was so well done , and let's not forget the steamy sex scenes that had me needing a fan in January to cool off.
I loved the way Susan wrote the timeframe with each chapter, we saw so much happen but never rushed nor did the theme drag I can't express enough how well written this is and the growth and companionship between these two was so endearing it shows us that from heartbreak true love can be found, yes it sometimes takes sadness and pain to get there but the journey is so well worth it.
This book can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading them in order because you get glimpses of past characters from the other books and it will make more sense as to who is who. So if you haven't read this book yet go "one click" this now you will not be disappointed with yet another gem from this amazing author.
Thank you Susan for yet another beautiful story I am already looking forward for your next story.
The Men of London Series Book Six. This can be read as a standalone but oh boy this series has been super awesome and I recommend reading them all. Of course, I have my favourites but every new book has a fascinating story that keeps you wanting more.
This book is Maxwell and Gibson story. It's a high flyer for sure. Both characters equally appealing but yet both have very different personalities. They say opposites attract and then if you are too alike you clash, hmm! What to believe because although they lead completely different lifestyles they have both done their fair share of bed hopping. I think fate brought these two guys together, okay maybe the writer did LOL! but she can totally make me a believer in her stories.
Maxwell AKA Max had the toughest start in life. Really that's an understatement. He did things he's not proud of but giving the circumstances, I think anyone would have done the same. He now travels around the world working as a flight attendant looking after passengers. His life is okay but he's looking for more, for that one guy to come home to. These one night stands and quickies in the toilet just aren't enough anymore.
Gibson, a gaming genius has to travel a lot and spots the gorgeous Max. Need I say more?. Another couple who are officially in the mile high club. Honestly I am never going to get on this list, so high five to anyone who does HAHA!! Gibson never dates the same man twice or has more than one encounter. Gibson is the whip it out, lick it and whip it in and never to be repeated kind of guy, that was until Max came to his defence one night.
With both feet firmly on the ground, these two guys became friends with almost benefits, but Max wanted more out of life. Such a shame Gibson wasn't on the same page as he was. What the heart wants the heart must have, no one knows when love will come your way, but when it does you have to grab it with both hands and grab a hold of it. Max and Gibson need each other whether they want to admit it or not.
This was another fantastic read and another two men to add to my collection. Oh actually make that three because Gibson has a best friend called Jack and he's a great character, witty, loving, sexy and he's not gay. YAY! but alas he is dating a wonderful woman who also cares deeply for Gibson.
I highly recommend this book. It has a story which shows both sides. The man who has nothing and no one and the man who has almost everything but has fantastic support from his family and friends and that can make a huge difference to someone's life. Choices have to be made, right or wrong it's the individuals decision what path they take in life. Love is love people, the sooner you all realise this, the better.
Review by: multitaskingmomma My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars
Maxwell and Gibson's story is a whole lot of drama laced with spicy humor and snarky commentaries. Let this serve as a warning as I have been victimized by all the snarkiness going on here. Take note: do not, I repeat, DO NOT drink while reading Maxwell's thoughts cos its a whole lot of unexpected. And I mean that in a good way.
Maxwell's history directed his future and now that he's in the future, he has reached the point where nothing really surprises him anymore. He's gone all so tired of everything and wants to settle. That thought by itself wass enough to give this reader pause and it set the pace of this installment to the Men of London Series which I have been following and craving for ever since the first one came out.
And then there is Gibson. Oh, so patient Gib. Okay, let me just say, this man tests my nerves completely because I could never have the patience he's obviously got a surfeit of and to think he is incapable of sitting quiet with quiet thoughts. He could give Maxwell's mental soliloquies a run for his money.
So these two men flew solo for most part of their lives and when they meet, the sizzle is palpable. (snark snort snicker) But the doubts creep in, they both second guess each other's feelings, they begin to over think and stumble in the process. It is a whole lot of learning for both men, especially for Max who already knew from the very beginning he wanted a change. All he has to do now is convince Gib he is a part of that change.
The love that grew between these two men developed and got stronger as their story moved along. The road to that strength a bit bumpy but that is all part of the appeal for this read.
This is the sixth Men of London installment, a different story for different men who live and run around London. Although this is a stand alone novel as all the books are in the series, I must insist you pick up the first five so you know the back stories of those men who came before this and make a reappearance here.
Wonderfully light and entertaining read despite the drama. Recommend not to drink hot tea or coffee when reading.

The last couple of books in the ‘Men of London’ series have been intense and extremely emotional. Not saying there aren’t some intense and emotional moments in this story, wouldn’t be Susan Mac Nicol otherwise, but this book is definitely lighter and I laughed a lot while I was reading it. I am left wondering if this would be a reprieve, is the next book going to gut me?
Fans of the series will remember Maxwell from book 3, Suit Yourself, as Oliver’s ‘when I’m in town’ hook-up. Well, Max is still flying solo, but he finds himself wanting something more than just random, one time hook-ups. Seeing his old friend Oliver so happy and in love stirs something in Max, making him want to have someone to come home to, someone to love.
Gibson Henry is a computer tech whiz that designs games and software. He too is a onetime only random hook-up kind of guy. He catches Max’s attention on a flight and the two share a mutual hand job in the latrine. The flame flickers out before the plane touches ground… or does it? When Max and Gibson run into each other in a club, the chemistry is definitely still there. What started out as a ticket to the mile high club becomes something more. Friends with benefits start dating, then those pesky feelings get involved and both men are in foreign territory.
What a great addition to this series. I seriously had a smile on my face almost the whole time. Max is a bit of a Diva, and Gibson is this adorable geek. The two of them together can really be a hot mess at times, but they realize pretty early that there is something more between them, something they want to fully explore and enjoy. When Max gets sick, Gibson takes care of him. When Gibson gets bad news from home, Max drops everything to fly to his hometown with him and stands by his side. It’s not until the past infiltrates their future that the real challenge emerges.
The prologue was intense and a bit dark, but from there the story was evenly paced and flowed well from one situation to the next. The characters were identifiably flawed and the story had depth and meaning. If you love a good romance with charisma, charm and sarcastic wit… you have got to read this book. I would suggest reading the series in order because the characters circle through every story; but this book could stand on its own as well.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Maxwell has had enough of the one night stands, the give hand jobs, the spread sheet. He wants what Oliver and Lesley have found, his very own Happy Ever After. But one last time, he falls for that smiling face, and Maxwell knows he is in trouble. Gibson was won over by the smile, and the bum of the flight crew. When their paths cross a second time, Gibson makes a move. He then finds, he wants more. More than he ever did before, more than he ever thought he would.
This is book 6 in the Men Of London series. I would recommend you read at least book 3, Suit Yourself before this one, it sort of follows on and gives you an insight into what Oliver and Maxwell had before Lesley. What Oliver thought of Maxwell. The other guys in their books are mentioned, and although really good reads, they aren't necessary.
I loved Maxwell in Suit Yourself, even if we didn't hear from him. I loved him all the more here. Especially after we learn of Maxwell's early life. Gibson, too. I loved that Gibson gave Maxwell a taste of his own medicine. Loved that they took so long, so very bloody long, to admit to each other what they felt.
I loved that, although from very different backgrounds, they both had their own family hang ups, issues and problems. Loved that their respective friends could see far sooner than they, just what these two men meant to each other. I loved the sizzle between them, that took off right from the start, loved it!
I will be honest, I did not like book 5, Cross to Bare, still figuring out how to word the review for THAT book. SO I was a little hesitant, but still keen, to read this one. I need not have worried.
It is flawless in its delivery, its flow, its general awesomeness that is Susan Mac Nicol and her Men of London.
Highly recommend this whole series, and, this one carries the weight that Feat of Clay, or Sights and Sinners does, just not in the same way. And THATS why I love these so much. Each story has major differences and issues and those differences make them stand alone, and together, as (mostly) 5 star reads.
5 full stars.
**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Kobo**
This is the sixth book in the Men of London series but it can be read as a standalone.
Maxwell Lewis has lead a turbulent young life that has seen plenty of loss and sadness but now he has picked himself up and is now content with his life thus far but now yearning for something more, someone to love. He works as cabin crew for Target airlines and it is through his job that brings him into contact with sexy off the wall Gibson Henry.
Gibson has a talent of the geek variety with his own company in gaming. His unique style and personality attracts the men to him in droves but his mantra is ‘no repeat performances’ When he spots the hot guy dishing out the food and drinks on one of his many flights he makes time to hook up with Maxwell and visit the mile high club. But when he dismisses Maxwell afterwards, has he made a big mistake? Not one for serious relationships he ignores his inner conscience and tries to forget his one time in the sky but fate seems to be playing a hand and he meets up with Maxwell again in a bar. Things take a step forward when Maxwell stands up for Gibson which Gibson finds such a turn on!
This was a great addition to the series and I loved the interaction between the pairing. The banter and laughs these two gave was a contrast to the passion they created between the sheets but there was also lots of depth and sadness to overcome.
With all Susan Mac Nicol’s stories, I like how she touches on a serious subject and raises awareness of it in her storylines. In this case it is the homeless. It really makes you think about those poor guys out there with no comfort and home and the harsh realities they have to live with on the streets.
A sexy passionate story with lots of laughs, a heart rending subject matter and a yearned for HEA. Four stars.

I am loving this series of interconnected stories by Ms Mac Nicol. Each one is different enough to be read alone, but getting the whole picture is fun too. I was a bit nervous about reading Maxwell's story, as he hasn't really been at his best in previous books - but I absolutely loved him, and Gibson turned out to be pretty fabulous too.
A true 'should not judge a book by its cover' story here, with Maxwell having a past that no-one would wish upon another. His little ways that are affected by his past are so beautifully explained, and are conveyed with such feeling. It was humbling that he had turned himself around. And the premise of the story here is that he has realised that it is time to look for Mr Right, no longer Mr Right-for-the-Moment. Breaking the rule because he is so attracted to a passenger is not what he wanted - but maybe will turn out to be everything after all.
There are so many lovely parts to this book - sitting writing this review a day after I finished it, enables me to reflect on just how much story there is and how much development happens over the course of the plot. I could easily read it again immediately and pick up even more. All these books have had interesting twists and realisations - and are all on my reread pile - this is definitely one of my favourites of the lot.
Thank you Ms Mac Nicol, I cannot wait to see what treat you have in store for us next.

You first meet Maxwell in an earlier book. He was at one time Oliver's 'friend with benefits' before he and Leslie got together. Maxwell is definitely more of a 'in the moment' kind of guy instead of a long term relationship guy. Working as a flight attendant gave him the freedom to hook up when he wanted in whatever city he was in at the time. Lately though, he knows that isn't that the kind of life he wants anymore. Coming home alone starts to wear on him.
Gibson doesn't do repeats. He isn't looking for a relationship, but when joins the 'Mile High Club' with Maxwell, is Maxwell going to be able to goodbye to Gibson? Will Maxwell's past come back to effect his future? Can Gibson get over his relationship issues to be with Gibson?
Ms. Mac Nicol has such a way with this series that you get sucked into the story. You finally get to understand what makes Maxwell tick, why he is like he is. Flying Solo is an emotional fun read. You don't want to miss out on this one.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~ Another great book in the series. You could probably read this as a stand-alone if you would like. I just loved Maxwell and Gibson. I wanted to hug Maxwell so many times while reading this book. Gibson, what a cute little guy, how can you not love him? This was a touching story and I will admit I cried a few times and laughed a lot as well. There was angst but it fit the story well. I simply love this series and gobble each book up in one sitting. Characters: well written Sex: oh yeah! Religious: no Would I recommend to others: yes More than one book in the series: yes Genre: M/M Romance Would I read more by this author: yes ~Wicked Reads Review Team~
I really wanted to love this one. But maybe my standards are really high these days, I have recently read some really good ones, and giving this one five stars would have been a lie. It was nice, don't get me wrong, it just wasn't great. I think I'd have liked it if Gibson was richer, more of a high roller, older, more stable, more of a prodigy, and Maxwell to be the way he is, but it would have been good for the angst factor if he carried more scars from his on the street days. And the sex, more steam maybe, it was a bit bland. You're probably reading the review and judging me harshly, don't worry, I'm judging me. I won't actively recommend this one, because it just wasn't exciting, but you're welcome to try it if you want to read a book with a fiery little game designer and a flight attendant with a big heart.
This is another great book by author Susan Mac Nicol … her writing keeps getting better and better. This is one of my favorite series. I love Maxwell and Gibson’s story. The way she describe each of them as an individual and then as a couple. Maxwell had to learn how to deal with the shadows of his past and Gibson had to learn how to deal with the future that was in front of him. They made perfect sense … together they love and live.
received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. So this is Maxwell's story, we have seen him in a few of the other men of London books. Maxwell is an air steward who had a man in every place he lands. he has decided he wants to settle down, one night stands are just not doing it for him anymore. Gibson is a man who knows what he wants. when he sees the hit guy handing out food on a plane he knows he wants him. This is another sweet story in the men of London series.
I love this book, no surprises there, I have loved all of this series. Susan Mac Nicol writes real people! Nobody is perfect, every character has their little flaws, making them people you can relate to and connect with. Great steamy bits, close family, wonderful friends and lots of lovely love!
4****Star Book: Flying Solo Series: Men of London Bk #6 Author: Susan Mac Nicol Publisher: Boroughs Publishing Ltd Genre: Contemporary Romance M/M Pages: 176 Release Date: January 28, 2016 Rated: Mature
Trapped in my home during Florida’s Hurricane Irma; Sept 2017, I have been a captive audience in a need to ‘get away’. I think the three books I have read in these few days, have done right by me, taking me out of a nightmare, away from the fear and turmoil of IRMA.
We originally met Maxwell in Suit Yourself as he was Oliver’s in town hook up before Oliver met Leslie. In Flying Solo we meet Maxwell after we read the heart-breaking Prologue. In chapter one the reader enters the world of Maxwell now, a sexy, good looking flight attendant working with Target Airlines. He loves to travel, loving his job. Now, at this time in his life, coming home to his empty apartment, something seems missing. Someone special to come home to.
Gibson Henry is a geeky game developer. He and his best friend Jack have started their own business and are working hard to develop one game at a time to make their company a household name.
Gibson traveling on Maxwell’s flight has his mile-high card out as he flirts and swishes Max into the plane’s rest room for a test dive. The adorable gamer is someone Max would like to see again and after the plane lands, Max is given the brush off hearing that Gibson ‘Never does Repeats.’
The author draws us into a riveting story, a second chance meeting, the thought that these two young men could make a life together takes on a solid, sexy heart driven story. Stunning and sexy as hell Max, so wounded by his humble beginnings finally finds solid ground with the adorable steady Gibson. I loved the way these two managed to find their way.
I have read and have written review for Book #5, Cross to Bare and this book #6 Flying Solo and Jax’s so waited for story #7 Damaged Goods (writing that review next) Now I am starting to get scared……I Only have two more to read for this series and I will be left alone…….my men are happy yes…….But, what will I do without them Susan?????
While I usually love Susan Mac Nicol's books, I had a bit of trouble getting into Flying Solo. I loved Maxwell and I just wanted to cuddle him and tell him that everything would be alright once I learned his whole story. It was so heartbreaking and I was glad he'd managed to do something with his life after living on the streets and losing so many things. He was also supportive and sweet, even if he allowed Gibson to kind of walk all over him sometimes. It took me a while to warm up to Gibson, though. I just found it difficult to connect with him, especially after how much of a jerk he was with Max after their second encounter on the plane. While Max and Gibson were hot together, I wasn't as invested in them as I've been with other of the Men of London couples. At least not at first. I will admit that once Gibson decided to really open himself up to the possibility of being Max's boyfriend and seeing how he tried to help him when Max needed him.
I loved catching up with Leslie and Oliver and I loved Jack and Beth, they were great friends to Gibson and Max.
All in all, even if this is not my favorite Susan Mac Nicol book, it was still enjoyable and a good addition to the series.

This story began in a very emotional way. The situation with Maxwell and Levi was heartbreaking. Maxwell pulled himself up and made a new life for himself. Once again, this author drew me in and held me there. This story was very easy to get invested in. The relationship between these two fellas was a bit uneven to begin with but soon became evenly matched. Again, this author has added another keeper to her long list of hits.

I am reading through the Men of London books and I have said it before but I will say it again. I am continually amazed by how different these books are from each other. Too often authors books tend to start to seem alike after a few in a series but these books don’t. I love following these guys and getting glimpses of them in subsequent books. Another great read.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Maxwell works for an airlines company and he noticed Gibson. Gibson just finished his gaming company to the next best thing. Gibson decided to go to Club Delish to let himself relax. Maxwell walked into the Club Delish, and that was when he noticed Gibson so they decided to talk and catch up and have a drink.
