When it comes to pops, the possibilities are endless—and so much fun!
Fruity pops, tea pops, coffee pops, alcohol pops...all kinds of pops. I didn't love all of the recipes, but some of them were different from the same old pop recipes so I liked that. One thing that makes this stand out a bit from the other pop recipe books I've seen is that it has a section on pop molds, not just options available on the market but ideas for how to make your own DIY molds.
Appreciated the inclusion of icy treats from different cultures and suggestions on making your own moulds. Feeling inspired to make my own flavour combinations which is one of the best results a book like this can have.
I don’t know much about photography, but the photos were excellent — really showed the depth of colours.
I just found some extra popsicle sticks today at Sur La Table so I can make the Mai Tai, and martini pops from this book! Lots of enticing recipes, and simple clear instructions. Perfect summer treats. Some friends and I have coincidentally been curious how we could make popsicles from the ice cream recipes in David Leibovitz's great book, The Perfect Scoop. Hope the recipes in this book can help us figure that out. AND, the author is a local designer, so that makes the book extra cool, too!
In Florida this winter I got into the habit of eating popsicles at night. Not one popsicle. Usually at least 4. Grape. It got expensive. So I went on Amazon looking for popsicle molds so I could make my own. This book was suggested and it sounded interesting so I bought it and I'm glad I did. It has loads of ideas for all kinds of flavors, textures, mix-ins, and ways to make them pretty. Without this book I never would have decided to bring popsicles to a pot luck supper. They were a hit!
Tons of yummy and exotic ideas for popsicles can be found in this little book. Since I don't drink alcohol anymore, it is going to become my Mr. Boston's guide for delicious summer taste treats. However, if you do enjoy a libation every now and again you might like this book as well. A recipe for sweet and salty Margarita pops are on page 105.
Picked up this great little NON-cookbook at Kohl's!
Great treats to cool off the family this Summer... After making several of the POPS... I ended up sending the book to family in Florida for them to enjoy.
Great, detailed recipes for show-stopping popsicles. Castella pays equal attention to taste and design, making popsicles seem like the new cupcakes. Or maybe even the new knitting.
Very pretty popsicle (sorry, in my world they're popsicles, not ice pops) recipes. Probably fancier than I would want to get, but it was fun to flip through.
