Emily Vega must avenge her father, and as the last of the Hell Hunters, she has one mission: destroy the Galena pack. Werewolves are carefully camouflaged monsters intent on taking over the world—or at least that’s what she’s been taught—but one meeting with the werewolf she’s hunting, and Chance Dawson is changing her mind, little by little. He is caring, protective, and sexy as hell, and the more she gets to know him, the more she thinks all of her Hell Hunter training has been a lie. What if werewolves aren’t the bad guys? What if she’s the monster?
Chance knows he’s being hunted. What he can’t figure out is why the alluring new woman in town has her sights set on him. He’ll draw her in close, but just to show her she’s wrong about him. But when that dangerous siren starts calling to his wolf, he knows he’s in over his head. And if his alpha, Link, finds out what Emily is doing in Galena, he’ll destroy her. Pulled between his loyalty to the pack and the woman he’s falling for, Chance will have to protect her from all sides, because as it turns out…Emily isn’t the only one on the hunt.

T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
A great conclusion to a charming shifter romance series. I have really adored all the characters in this series and hope we get future updates on all of them. I was glad to see Chance found his happiness. I am also pleased that this author offers her novels on kindleunlimited.
Chance’s book is the sixth and final book in this series.
I liked Chance and Emily together. I wanted Chance to find his mate too since all the other characters have found theirs and are happy. He was a really good guy and deserved a strong woman of his own. While I did genuinely like Emily, I was a little surprised by how quickly she realizes that what she was taught to believe by her father and uncle wasn’t true. She’s practically in love with Chance after their initial meeting. Same with Chance, although I know the wolf recognizes their mates quickly so that wasn’t a surprise.
While overall I really liked the story, to me it was missing something. Towards the end I felt as though I was re-reading the Twilight series when Edward is forced to change Bella (i.e. dying, injections to become shifter, different colored eyes). I know it wasn’t the exact same thing, but it was very similar. But the situation warranted what happened and I needed a happy ending and got one. So I am, as I am sure others are, happy.
Hummmmm. At only 167 pages, her decision to turn her back on EVERYTHING she's ever been taught has to be mega mega super super quick. Which kinda leaves you with whiplash. But I did like the ending to this, so... ok, I guess?
Finally at the end of the Bears fur hire saga, it was... fun?
I wasn't as pumped up for this book as I would've been hadn't the previous books been such a disappointment, and I'm glad I wasn't. Chance fur hire was "ok" but nothing more. The background plot had thickened along the 5 previous books, a bigger enemy had taken shape, things had changed for our characters and having two different worlds collide should've been more interesting than it was.
Chance, the main male character is loyal, kind and devilish in the best of ways, but sadly has no depth. The book never gives more than those facts, he takes care of those he loves and leaves clear they are his priority, he is loyal to his pack even when it might cost him his mate... until he actually gets her, something I don't begrudge, and is playful in the way he interacts with everyone, Emily included once he feels comfortable to do so... or when he forgets she's sort of the "enemy".
Emily, the main female character is supposed to be a prepared-professional-coldblooded- badass... yet no such thing is really showed, particularly during the beginning of the book. She starts by doing something carefully calculated and a door to many interesting situations only to then blunder like a teen in front of Chase. Then beliefs of years, training of a life time is let go in less than a day. While I understand the conflict she struggles with I feel the excitement wasn't worth the result. She mentions having been trained to be a deadly assassin, yet she only really did it constantly for a year? That's nothing... let's assume most was done throughout her life, never did her mother realize someone was brainwashing her daughter? No, seriously, such emotional/psychological damage cannot be hidden, no matter how much one tries. There's no way she had a "good mother" and a "good relationship" with her mother while training to kill people with her father on the side. Then there's the "I'm evil" attitude she takes for a couple chapters. This is when I call bs on the excitement for her character. Question... what has she done that's "evil"? Trespassing? No, that's ilegal but not evil. Eavesdropping on their conversations? No... again, ilegal put not evil. Plotting to kill them all... uhmmmmm... that's bad but let's be honest, she wasn't even comfortable about it since the beginning so no, I'm calling BS on the evil part. Then there's her relationship with her uncle and late father. She mentions training and spending summers with her father, that's what... 2 or 3 months a year? Let's say in reality that's a lot of time, one can learn to dance salsa (basic steps) in 2 months, so ok, let's say it's enough time to develop a strong relationship with both. After graduating and becoming a vet she doesn't mention training or even working with her father as a Hell Hunter. While she knew her father had died she was in the dark about their little operation, she wasn't privy to any of that so... didn't they trust her? Wasn't she into the whole HH thing? This to me sounds like she was living her life (let's say she graduated 21-22, so about 4-5 years of her life) as a normal person, who while affected emotionally and psychologically by what she experienced growing up hadn't ever been tainted by the death or assassination of ANYONE. Reading about death isn't the same as killing someone people. So... again, I call BS on the evil thing... and the Hell Hunter assassin shit. Sure, she shows some skills at opportune moments of the book but nothing more, AND while you could say her actions at the end of the book are "badass" they aren't any more badass than what Elyse, Vera or Nicole did in their respective books but she was supposedly trained for it, so, shouldn't had she been better? Shouldn't there had been a clear difference between how she was portrayed in comparison to them?
About their relationship. Taking into consideration the insta-love for the shifters I'm fine with how quickly Chance develops his feelings and the conflict this represents for him, the way the conflicting emotions and his actions go isn't perfect but it's... ok. Emily tho... I got a problem with her. She quickly falls for Chance but not only that, she turns from a supposedly cold blooded assassin (bs) into a hormonal crestfallen teenager with him, again turning into a clingy, needy, love starved woman the moment Chance pays her attention. While I understand the rug is pulled from under her I don't see the base (mentioned in the paragraph above) for her to be so affected by the whole thing and how quickly she changes sides and ideals. Then her words and actions during their first sex scene felt cheap and unwarranted. If I had been Chance I would've doubted her words and feelings IMMEDIATELY and probably would've told her to see a therapist, you know, know yourself and love yourself before getting into a relationship?
The antagonist in this book is also the lamest excuse for an antagonist possible. I can't understand why anyone would give such a great handicap to a villain and not give them a good set of henchmen. I can only think the addition would've made Emily look even cooler at the end. Instead we're given an old dude in his last "legs". I'm also not so comfortable with how things are left with Clayton, sure, they want nothing to do with him anymore but come on! he was a big part of what was happening behind scenes for him to puff himself out of the saga when the meat and potatoes finally show themselves (Hell Hunters people, I'm talking Hell Hunters). Also, and not to be nit picky, there were several times when character's motives and actions weren't consistent from one chapter to next, like saying for example Emily wanted to go to Chance out of fear for his life and then saying she wanted to go to him to see his line of work, that's inconsistency, specially when you say "it's the only reason". TS Joyce... where are your editors? Your proof readers? Anyway...
Some things were pleasant to see, specially again those related to Vera and the HEA for all characters in the saga. Some questions were answered like one I had about Lennard and their stories are very well closed by the Epilogue. In the end the book was only "ok" and I'm not sure why I bought it, I doubt I'll ever be reading it again. If you liked the previous 5 books then perhaps you'll get a better kick out of these books, but I was only mildly entertained by most of them and quite disappointed by one. d
I loved this one as well. One this this author does so well is take a fantasy type story and but some real factors into. This book was well written and the relationship between The two MC's was amazing.
It wasn't a standard "I hate you and you hate me but I want to fuck you". No, they actually built a relationship and she got to see what shifters are really like for her self, not what the Hell Hunter's put into her brain and made her own choices rather than just have any internal issues about what is right and wrong. She knows what is right and wrong and she amends how she can, no back and forth, she saw the issue right away and made her choice. I really liked that.
The female was a strong character and the male, honestly, kind of paled in comparison to her. Normally I like both of them or the male a little more, but this time around the female won out for me.
One thing I didn't care for is that the whole book she was saying how badass she is and she can handle herself and that she can fight, but it doesn't really come out until the vary end. There was a lot of talking about how "badass" she is but it was only shown a little. I was hoping she would have a few moments throughout the book than have a grand finale at the end-know what I mean?
Perfect ending to the series. Absolutely emotionally powerful. I love how this shows how your blood line doesn’t define who you are as a person. Link should be a little ashamed of himself for what he does. He can hear lies and I understand why he’s so upset but he needed to listen, it wasn’t to long ago his name was passing judgment on him...... if you haven’t read the first books in this series don’t start here because yes this book is amazing but it’s not amazing without knowing everyone because you don’t know and appreciate the beauty of the characters.
This series has been by far the best I have read in a long time, maybe all time. I am not a fan of sequels, sometimes series are okay. I am a "beginning-middle-end, with a happy ending in one book" kind of girl. Each of these books were so unique with the Characters and had the plot different enough that they could be stand alone. However, reading them all in order enhances the beauty of the stories that it wouldn't do them justice if you didn't.
The Bears Fur Hire had a very interesting story plot. All six books were very good to read, it made you want to read what the other character was going to do. I enjoy reading series, I'm retired and the only thing is when I start reading it's hard for me to put the book down. I love this Authors books.
Loved this book with an h who discovers her life is based on a terrible lie. She is an honest person and know she must protect the H not kill him. He knows she's his mate but then it gets angsty. Great couple who have to fight their families to be together. Great ending to the series
Thank you again for giving me a story of love when my own life is so loveless. It warms the heart and gives me another reason to smile and dream that maybe just maybe love will find me one day, too.
Emily Vega is about to avenge the death of her father, and being the last of the Hell Hunters, and her one mission is to destroy the Galena pack. That is what she has been schooled in since she was a little girl. But when she meets one werewolf that she is hunting she well Chance is slowly changing her mind. As Emily and Chance begin to draw closer, we find out that she is not the only one hunting, will Chance and Emily get their chance at being happy, read the story its a great one and all characters are great but they all are back too.
Emily Vega, last of the Hell Hunters, is determined to avenge the deaths of her father and compatriots at the hands of the Galena pack. Emily’s mission is to stop the shifters plan of world domination, starting with the death of Chance Dalton and making it as painful as possible. She’ll make Chance’s death legend and a warning to all shifters
As Emily begins her hunt for Chance, she sees and hears things that conflict with all her teachings. Spying on the Dalton brothers, she finds they’re caring and the townsfolk think well of them. When Emily meets Chance for herself, he takes her breath away. Trying to hold onto her mission is becomes more difficult by the second.
While Emily and Chance find their way toward each other, it’s realized Emily she isn’t quite the last Hell Hunter. This satisfactory outing is the last of the series. Though this reader wasn’t always pleased, questions are answered, threads are wrapped and the very high valleys make this fun series a quick read for the beach or a rainy day. Rating: 4.25stars
This is the sixth book in the series. They are better read in order. This book focuses on Chance and his mate. This one was so emotional for me. Chance is the last one without a mate. Then when he finds her, she could be a danger to his whole pack. Emily is the last of the Hell Hunters. Her father was killed and her uncle is on his last leg close to death. She has been raised thinking shifters are awful and dangerous. Then she meets Chance and realizes everything she has been told is a lie. They aren’t anything like she has been told. Now she must decide what to do. She is torn apart. The man who could be her future or everything she has been told by her family. I loved this book so much. Emily has so much to contend with. Chance must worry about who to choose as well. Fantastic job T.S. Joyce. I love your books so much. I am sad that this series has come to an end but eager to read another of her series. I can’t recommend this series or her books enough.
I really wasn't sure about this one as it started, wasn't sure how I could hope for a girl like Emily for Chance, she was the enemy and bound and determined to kill him and his kind. It didn't take too long for Emily to realize what she had been taught was wrong, so very wrong and these people were good, just trying to live their lives like everyone else.
As the others go to know Emily it was fun, fun until Link found out and things turned out a bit bad. Happily it didn't take too long for Emily to win over Link, it helped that she had Nicole on her side. That only left on barrier and by working together they all were able to take care of things, allowing them to live free.
The ending to this one was perfect, perfect for the couple and the pack as it had grown.
This is such an awesome book & series. I luv the way T.S. Joyce marries her series' to each other. The characters being each other's family & history. It's the coolest surprise! I can't get enough of her books!!! Thank goodness she's written so many & continues to release new great stories! It was such a fabulous day, the day I discovered Kindle Unlimited!!! I've discovered so many great books & authors! Ms Joyce being one of my stand out favorites. Her stories are heartfelt, laugh out loud adventures!
I read this book as a stand-alone. I haven’t read any of the others in the series. There was a little bit at the end where I felt like I didn’t have all the info/back/story, but otherwise it was good as a stand-alone. I liked the characters and the storyline. The hero and heroine fell for each other really, really fast. Insta-love basically, which isn’t my fav but it was fine in this book. I liked the angsty bits the most (the alpha order, etc). The epilogue was good.
i loved every Minute of this Story it's a real tearjerker from beginning to end i didn't want to miss a Minute of this truely engajing love Story it had me wishing for more i realy would have loved to find out how this are going in 2, 5and 10 years what the cub's and pup's are up to and so on and in my opinion if a book leaves you with a happy Feeling and the wish to see intothe characters future it's a sure sign this book is a must read.
Holy Hell (Hunters) Dawson! Okay so I know I didn't see the last book's plot twist coming but here you get the full Monty with the rest of the story. And Emily as a result might be my favorite heroine of the series. Gotta love a fem character who'll stand up for herself and against the odds. Chance was darling and that's saying something after having met Dalton who was tragically sweet himself. And what Vera did for her...I was thrilled!
Chance Dawson a Wolf Shifter was only single person in the Galena Pack. Emily Vega a human and raise by her father and uncle to be a Hell Hunter, to end all werewolf. Emily was to hunt Chance and get close to the Galena Pack so the Hell Hunters could destroyed the pack. Emily was good inside, and Chance was also good. The fates have given them approval. Love and happiness for as long as they breath.
This is a steamy shifter romance with some unexpected twists and turns. Chance meets the new woman in town named Emily. He knows he's being hunted by her but doesn't know why until he finds out her full name - Emily Vega, a Hell Hunter. I love the interaction between the two of them and how they overcome stereotypes and find love. They come close to losing each other but their strength in their love allows them to overcome those obstacles. Lovely happy ending!
I’ll be honest this was my least favourite in the series, I feel like things were left unresolved with certain characters, . Now I love this series a lot the characters are amazing and beautiful and I’m Extremely upset it’s ending because I need more. I just didn’t click with Em like I did the other leading female characters. I think I was expecting more bad ass ( not just in the last chapter) I loved chance he was amazing as always
I'm not normally one to review. Hopefully if you've got to this book you have read the series from the beginning. If not, DO IT:-D T.s.joyce has ended this series beautifully.
I fall in love with her characters every time I re-read each series and I'm never ever disappointed. You'll love how this finishes the 'Fur Hire' series. Really well done.
Like all the other books in this series. You get pulled into ot feom page one. Chance Dawsonhas a once in a lifetime chance. Emily Vega is the last of her line. She has the choice to follow what shes been taught or do what she wants and go after what she wants - all she needs is a Chance.
So completely wrong for each other. One with so many secrets. One who can snuff them out. Emily has to unlearn her family’s trade to become who she was meant to be...assuming she can survive what’s coming. A truly excellent tale and perfect ending to the 6 book series!
Great wrap to series. We finally learn more about the hell hunters but one is about to learn the truth about shifters. While hunting she discovers they are more than evil and she has been lied to her whole life. Can the hell hunter be redeemed and can a lone wolf find more. Read and find out how their paths end. Enjoy!
Best way to end the series! Losing ones self in order to become a better person! It amazes me that bad people can influence another person life in order to keep ignorance alive.
