1.5 stars. Engaging storytelling with decent character development for a short, this wasn't bad at all. I'm just not really into the whole ONS/near instalove thing, so I didn't enjoy this all that much. Plus, the h had to go chasing the H at the end, and that makes me very meh about this story.

Two of my favorite small town romances collide and I couldn't be happier. In this one Erin Nicholas brings her sass and wit to Hope Falls but we also get glimpses of Sapphire Falls and some of our favorite characters there.
Jason is a doctor currently working in Sapphire Falls but he's in Hope Falls for the reading of his mentor's will. He's in for a couple of surprises though. First he meets a beautiful woman in a bar and has a mind blowing hookup in a closet. Second, that particular woman, Tara, turns out to be the daughter of his mentor. Third, it appears the practice is up for grabs and the town needs a doc. As Jason and Tara work through all the paperwork and belongings it becomes apparent they have a pretty strong chemistry between them. Will they be brave enough to face it???
This is one you definitely want to grab. It's a fun quick read and will give you a great afternoon of enjoyment.

Lovers of the Sapphire Falls series will recognize in Hope Falls what makes a small town wonderful - caring and friendly people in a close knit community. For Jason, coming back to Hope Falls where he apprenticed with the beloved doctor David who has recently passed away is both a comfort and bittersweet. He misses his mentor, and while he thought there might be a token in the will for him, he never expected that David would leave half his estate to him, and his daughter Tara. And oops, Tara just happens to be a woman with whom he had a steamy one night stand when they were strangers never expecting to meet again. But now they've got the daunting talk of going through David's belongings and it stirs up all sorts of questions and discoveries. Finding out his mentor had feet of clay is an eye opener, and with his feelings for Tara all mixed up too, Jason's going to have to decide where home really is for him.
I quite enjoyed this story. There was a lot of emotion to it, as Tara and Jason struggle with new things they learn about David. It definitely affects their interactions with each other. They share a sexual attraction to each other that leads to some steamy scenes (both before and after they find out they are co-inheritors in the will) and make their connection particularly strong. I thought that the romance got overshadowed somewhat by the emotional upheaval upon learning some of David's secrets. But I enjoyed the cameo appearances by some of the Sapphire Falls folks and I think this was a good linking story between the two series. 3.5 stars.

How Erin Nicholas can fit so much hot and sexy into a novella is amazing! There is nothing better than combining Hope Falls and Sapphire Falls. In this story Dr Jason Gilmore returns to Hope Falls for the reading of his mentor's will. The night before the will reading he is hanging out in the local bar and ends up sharing a steamy kiss at the bar and an encounter in a storage room with a stranger named Tara. They both agree no last names and one night only. Imagine their surprise when they both show up for the will reading the next morning. Jason had no idea his mentor had been harboring so many secrets and Tara had no idea that this was the Jason that the doctor had loved so much. Can a beloved deceased doctor play matchmaker? And can you find love just as quickly in Hope Falls as you can in Sapphire Falls?

What a Fun and Enjoyable Read!

Now, I think that's about all I plan on telling you about their story, because I sure wouldn't want to spoil any of it. I will say that people fall in love in Hope Falls just about as quick as Sapphire Falls and I'm beginning to love both of these towns.

What an awesome book!! Two of the best small towns all rolled up in one book! It doesn't get any better than that!
Jason heads to Hope Falls for the reading of his friends will and gets quite a few surprises! The chemistry between him and Tara is explosive and as always I loved watching their story unfold!
And I loved that we got a little surprise visit from some beloved Sapphire Falls guys too!

I loved this book from beginning to end. I am new to Hope Falls but not Sapphire Falls where Jason calls home until a trip to his mentors home town changes all that. I fell in love with the town of Hope Falls and plan a return visit very soon. If you love small town romance full of hot, dark in the closet (yes I said closet) moments then you can't go wrong here.

Fantastic book! I have to say GETTING HIS HOPES UP by Erin Nicholas had me all over the place emotionally and I loved every minute of it. At times I laughed, I cried, I felt indignant on our heroine's behalf and I well... there were a few sexy scenes where I was fanning myself. lol. This crossover between Sapphire Falls and Hope Falls stole my heart as did the handsome hero, Jason Gilmore. Jason, a doctor from Sapphire Falls comes back to Hope Falls, where he once trained, for the reading of the will for his mentor who has recently passed away. A man who was more of a father figure to him than his own father. A man who finds out things that tarnish his memories of the David Hansen. The doctor he loved and admired more than his own father, and has reason to believe David thought of him as the son he never had.
Meanwhile, the other person there for the reading of Dr. Hansen's will is his actual daughter, Tara. A woman Jason randomly meets the night before without realizing who she is. I loved Tara! She grew up in less than ideal circumstances yet went to college and is now an art teacher back in her hometown of Hope Falls. Like Jason, she has always loved and admired Dr. Hansen... that is until she discovers just a few days before his death that he is in face her actual father, but never stepped forward to assume the role. Tara has some justified anger and isn't really interested in letting it go easily. Finding out that the man she can't get out of her head is THE Jason that Dr. Hansen had always spoken so lovingly about doesn't make it easier.
These two went through the gamut of emotion and revelations together. Their attraction to each other was both a comfort and salve as they worked through their respective feelings about the loss of the man so important to them both. The electricity of that attraction and the intensity of the situation made a great love story about two people who were destined for each other. Loved this story!! 4.5 stars

I absolutely loved this crossover between two of my favorite fictional towns, Hope Falls and Sapphire Falls. I'm a huge fan of both authors. I loved that we had glimpses of Jason before in the other Sapphire Falls books. I also loved the appearance of my favorite Bennett boys in this story. Jason has a successful medical practice in Sapphire Falls. He shows up in Hope Falls for the reading of his mentor David's will. He gets to town the night before and decides to blow off some steam at the local bar. He manages to be dragged into a situation between a local woman, Tara, and a man she went out with very briefly who wants to rekindle the relationship. That encounter leads to some seriously hot closet sex. They both go their separate ways, assumingly to never be seen again. Until the next day when they are both waiting for the reading of David's will. I loved reading about them falling in love and coming to grips with their feelings towards David. It was a fantastic read I would recommend to anyone.

Thrown together these two must sort out David's home and office. Jason soon learns that his friend and mentor wasn't all that Jason thought of him and soon he finds it difficult to process and starts doubting himself. Tara also learns some things about the father she never really knew.

Erin Nicholas has again done a wonderful job. This time she combines Sapphire Falls and Hope Falls for a story about Dr. Jason Gilmore who returns to Hope Falls to hear the reading of his mentor's Will, never knowing that his mentor had more than a reading planned for him. Tara who just recently found out who her father was, loses him suddenly and is also attending the reading. Jason comes to town the night before and unknowingly meets Tara and the sparks fly. The next day they are both shocked to see each other again and under these circumstances. Is the Will reading the only thing their mentor and father had planned for them? Or is this a match made from heaven. If you have enjoyed the Sapphire Falls series, you will love the Hope Falls series.

Sapphire Falls has arrived in Hope Falls. Dr Jason has arrived for the reading of his mentor's will, the night before he stops at the bar when he rescues Tara from a date gone bad. Sparks fly immediately. It turns out Tara is David's daughter, but she had just found out a few days prior to his death. As going through David's things, they learn a lot of him, not all for the good. Now Jason needs to decide where is medical practice is going to be located, Sapphire Falls or Hope Falls, and will Tara be part of it.
Loved this fun sexy story. Great characters. I have always loved Buttercream frosting, after reading this book, I love it even more. I highly recommend this book!! I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Erin Nicholas has stepped out of Sapphire Falls for just a quick second to visit Hope Falls the new Kindle World Series by Melanie Shawn. Dr. Jason Gilmore, who you saw first in Getting Lucky and then came back to make an appearance in Getting to the Church On Time!, comes to Hope Falls for the reading of the will of his mentor. But little does Dr. Gilmore know that his mentor might have had a ulterior motive when he put him in his will. I am a die-hard fan of Sapphire Falls but this trip to Hope Falls, was very enjoyable!!!! Erin Nicholas you have hit a home run again!!!!! Can’t wait to see who we will see next in Sapphire Falls!!!!!

I loved this book and loved that 2 series by 2 of my favorite authors have crossed over and I look forward to reading the whole series! Dr Jason and Tara are such a sweet loving couple and the way they met up was perfect!! Another perfect love story with hot romance!!!

Everyone mourns in different ways. For some, the death of a friend can lead to the love of your life. I found this book to be emotional and uplifting. Couldn't put it down.

Matchmaking From Beyond The Grave?
Like all Kindle Worlds books, this book can be read with or without the named series books from the World it is based in. Unlike other Kindle Worlds books, it is necessary to read the parent series' (Sapphire Falls) books to fully understand this spinoff. It is truly the meeting of two Kindle Worlds!
The Sapphire Falls series must be read in order. This is still a Sapphire Falls book! The first book is Getting Out Of Hand. The second book is Getting Worked Up. The third book is Getting Dirty. The fourth book is Getting In The Spirit. The fifth book is Getting In The Mood. The sixth book is Getting It All. The seventh book is Getting Lucky. The eighth book is Getting To Her. The ninth book is Getting Over It. The tenth book is Getting To The Church On Time. This is the eleventh book as well as the first book in a spinoff series. I can't wait to read the next Sapphire Falls book as well as any book in this new spinoff series!
Jason has been trying to acclimatize to being his hometown's Doctor after starting a clinic there. Unfortunately everyone just sees him as, well, him... NOT the Doctor that they should put their trust in. After his mentor David dies, he travels to Hope Falls to mourn him and find out what sort of meaningful trinket David left him to remember him by. Who is the gorgeous woman who smells of frosting at the bar? Why is he so drawn to her even after being roped into her ex drama? Does he stand a chance with her? Or is this just a "vacation" fling?
When Tara sees the gorgeous stranger at the bar he immediately intrigues her. Especially since everyone around her has been throwing her a pity party. Finding out David was her father and that he knew for so long without telling her was bad enough... Having him die less than a week later? That was the worst! Now everyone walks on eggshells around her and it is driving her mad! She couldn't stand pity when she didn't have a father... And now it stings even worse. "Getting His Hopes Up" is written by Erin Nicholas, and it is part of the Hope Falls: Kindle Worlds series. It can be read as a stand-alone novella.
Right from the get-go, readers will get hooked with the first scene! Dr. Jason Gilmore and Tara were hot! Jason doesn't know Tara, but she approaches him at the bar, and they share a steamy kiss! Then, things heat up in a storage room. Jason can't get over Tara. He would like to see her again while he's in Hope Falls the next few days.
What was once originally a short visit to Hope Falls, quickly gets extended after Jason learns what was left behind on his mentor, Dr. David Hansen's, will and the conditions it had. "Getting His Hopes Up" was a wonderful, quick read! As a fan of both the Hope Falls series and Sapphire Falls series, I was happy that two of my favorite series were interacting! Right from the get-go, readers will get hooked with the first scene! Dr. Jason Gilmore and Tara were hot! Jason doesn't know Tara, but she approaches him at the bar, and they share a steamy kiss! Then, things heat up in a storage room. Jason can't get over Tara. He would like to see her again while he's in Hope Falls the next few days.
What was once originally a short visit to Hope Falls, quickly gets extended after Jason learns what was left behind on his mentor, Dr. David Hansen's, will and the conditions it had. Sapphire Falls meets Hope Falls … My two favorite small towns in one book… I am in heaven.
This novella brings Jason, the town doctor from Sapphire Falls, to Hope Falls for the reading of the will of his mentor. He is enjoying an evening in the local bar when a sexy stranger lands in his arms and his whole world is turned upside down. Jason had planned a quick trip to deal with the will but instead ends up with a “quickie” in the storage closet of the bar!
Tara is grateful to Jason for being rescued from a potentially ugly situation but does not expect to see him again after their encounter in the bar. Fate, such as it is, throws them together and they are forced to deal with their obvious chemistry as well as their connection to David, the doctor who has died and who had an important place in their individual lives.
This is a short book so the plot moves quickly… but it is full of all the wonderful things we love about Erin’s books… romance, humor, hot men, strong willed women and of course, something sweet! Take time to read this book and enjoy your visit to Hope Falls!

Hope Falls and Sapphire Falls come together PERFECTLY in Getting His Hopes Up!
In this story, Jason comes back to Hope Falls, a town full of great memories for him throughout his life, for the reading of the will of a dear friend of his. His first night back in town, he stops at the local watering hole, and meets Tara, a woman who for some reason completely intrigues him in many different ways. After a steamy encounter in a storage closet, the two strangers part ways, assuming they will never see eachother again. Boy were they wrong! They are connected to each other and have more in common than either of them ever thought.
This book, in true Erin fashion, covers all of the things that I love to read. There's passion, humor, sarcasm, love. They both want to be happy and ultimately make the right choice in life. They don't want to rush in to things, but everything just feels so RIGHT.
This book had me hooked from the beginning, and I loved seeing both places come together so perfectly!

What happens when the doctor from Sapphire Falls (Erin's series) travels to Hope Falls (Melanie Shawn's series) hear the reading of his mentor's will, a truly great love story, that is what!
Jason and Tara's story was sweet and just what the doctor ordered. Erin's books always make me crave certain food items. The food item featured in this book is buttercream frosting! Yummy. I think Erin Nicholas did a great job of capturing the home town feel of Hope Falls created by Melanie Shawn. I hadn't "visited" Hope Falls before but I will be checking out that series now.
I love small town romances because you get to meet a variety of strange and interesting characters that make up each place. With this book we see some guest appearances from a few Sapphire Falls greats (Bennett brothers anyone!) and also get to see some of the characters that make Hope Falls a wonderful place.

Wonderful mix of both Hope Falls & Sapphire Falls. Located on opposite sides of the US, both towns have the same small town close knit vibe. Dr. Jason Gilmore worked under Dr. David Hansen during his residency. Jason has put David up on a pedestal as the type of doctor he wants to be. Jason is back in town after the death of his mentor for the reading of the will. On his first night in town, he goes to a bar and runs into Tara. He saves her from an uncomfortable situation with an ex & things get hot & heavy quickly. The next day at the lawyers office, he discovers Tara is David's daughter & that she didn't find out until after David died. The pedestal begins to crumble.
I don't want to spoil the book so I'll stop there. If anyone is looking for a sweet romantic quick read, this is the book for you. Just be aware. You'll be drawn into the story & want to read the other books in both series to find out about the others you meet! I loved it!

I am not a fan of novellas - which this Kindle World series is. However, I must admit that I purchase this one due to it being penned by one of my favorite authors - Erin Nicholas. Add to that the location of Hope Falls (from Melanie Shawn's series) and I figured how could I go wrong? Well, I didn't go wrong. I felt it was a developed story in itself which was a plus since most novellas don't always capture that. Jason and Tara were a likeable couple who meet over the death of a common friend - a mentor to Jason in his medical career and an unknown father to Tara. They both encounter issues with the man, finding out he really wasn't the perfect individual each believed him to be so that was a nice side story line in addition to their romance. And, yes, this is an Erin Nicholas book so there was plenty of hot romance in it (yeah, like starting from the first chapter!) Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others.

This book was as delicious as it was sweet! Thank goodness you cannot gain pounds from an Erin Nicholas book because hello, buttercream frosting! Erin has made me fall in love with two more characters. Jason and Tara are both real characters, drawn too each other instantaneously, for fun, for spicy hotness and for emotional support. There was a moment in the book where I just had to cry. It was a beautiful sentimental, sad, despair filled scene, yet heart filling scene. So many emotions at that time. I love stories that tug on my heart and make me feel. Or stories that make a silly grin appear as I read. This one has it in spades. And in the last few minutes of the book, there are three visitors who definitely keep the smiles on my face along with a little laughter. Love those men from Sapphire Falls!

I have been looking forward to this read since I heard my 2 favorite small towns were meeting up in it, and omg. Erin Nicolas made the wait well worth it.
Tara is an awesome, outgoing heroine, who's world has been turned upside down by not one, but 2 recent developments in her life. Jason is the hot doctor, who has returned to Hope Falls after receiving the call that his mentor has passed away. When I say sparks fly between these two immediately, it's an understatement. From the very first page, I knew it was gonna be a hot read, but I definitely wasn't prepared for how hot some of it was. Erin did a phenomenal job combining Sapphire Falls and Hope Falls, and I LOVED catching up with my favorite characters from each town.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a hot sexy read
