"Royce", is similar to the author's first publication "The Smile", a contemporary love story with no boundaries and an unexpected twist.

Royce Harrington is the son of a rich Texas cattle rancher and oil baron; he was born into money but he's made his own way and his own millions. His life is set so he thinks until one night Joy Abrams walks into The Club and into a hidden world of forbidden pleasure.

That night sets off a chain of events that even he couldn't imagine.

His only thought is to protect Joy and even though he is relentlessly pursued by hired assassins he has the one thing he desires, the one thing he needs, the one thing he loves, Joy, Joy, Joy!

I began writing in 2010 after a major event in my life, and before I knew it I had the beginnings of six novels. All stories I'd like to tell in my voice, and from a point of view I usually don't see out there. I like unusual stories that could happen in real life, and by my curious lens probably has happened to someone. My only hope is that as readers discover my work that they enjoy it, and follow me onto the next novel in my journey of writing stories that I love.

This book was not perfect, but I loved the "love" Royce has for Joy and he didn't care who knew it! This is another author that knows how to research and tell a story, this could actually be three different stories/books.

One heck of a drama !

An absolutely enjoyable read! It was almost too exciting! But beware, you'll be tempted to read it all in one sitting

Enjoyed the book right up to the 60% mark... and then everything went left. I expected it because of the blurb and when it happened I was like cool... and then it was like "surprise" and it turn into an episode of law and order criminal intent... and then I was quickly turned off and found myself just reading and skimming...I just wasn't prepared for it to go that deep... like okay a year or two fine... but when it stretched out that long I was like OKAY.

And I get Joy was beautiful but it seemed like every man was smitten with her.. I'm like well damn.

SO if you are a fan of some sex, love, drama, criminal activity, bodyguards and a splash of racism... this book for you!

lata folks, off to read some unicorns and glitter or some gansta shit this in between has me feeling lost. LOL

What a Beautiful story, about a Beautiful couple. Royce and Joy is Love to Infinity. What a Unique way it all started. I don't want to go into detail, for this book had so many layers, but came full circle. It was by no means corny or sappy, but was Strong and Deep. Great job to the author D. Hamilton-Reed! Excellent!!!

Spoilers ************** Spoilers********* Spoilers

The writer has potential, but there were a few issues I found with this book:
It needs a good editing for punctuation, misused words and organization. It was difficult to tell which character was speaking at times. The constant use of "too" instead of "to" and vice versa was off-putting.
Change of scenes or actions, if you will, needed to be better organized. It was jarring to realize that you had reached a completely different aspect of the story. a simple ******* or some such delineating the change would have sufficed and make the transitions less jarring.
Some of the conversations between character were quite sophomorically written.
Royce's constant crying became annoying
Parts of the plot were just preposterous.

One saving grace: Royce was not a billionaire. He was wealthy, but not a billionaire - Thank God!

Parts of the book felt as if was set in the 1950s and not the late 1990s. And no I am not talking about Royce's father and his mistress.

Complex

While I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the structure was confusing which made the book unnecessarily complex at times and it felt like the book should have been split into three books or at least three parts. What was most frustrating was that the book lacked the normal writing structure and had grammatical errors that took away from the story flow. I suppose changing the structure may have reduced the number of pages but the book was still long (hence my "three books in one" comment). Definitely poor editing . Regardless, the book does deserve 4 stars for the storyline which was at times captivating, as it had drama, suspense and quite a few WTF moments that kept you reading.

Pheww...finally...I love when the hero loved his woman hard. The passion, the obsessions, the love that he have for Joy is the most perfect for romance novels(I've never met anyone who loves like royce). He made my heart flutters.I'm glad I'm able to finished this novel in two days but I'm really glad I didn't give up reading it because at the end it's worth it.

Can't remember the last time I gave 5 stars. So many twist and turns, so sensual and erotic. I look forward to this authors next book.
