This was okay.

* Claire is interning with a theatre group based in a large castle for the summer.
* They hear strange voices and don't know where they're coming from., and Kim tells Claire off for doing things that are bad luck.
* Kim breaks her leg and Claire takes over her role.
* Claire discovers a hidden room with a ventriloquist dummy in it. She figures it belongs to the ventriloquist Ben, but when she eventually sees the person they're wearing a mask.
* The man catches Claire and tries to kill her, but it's not Ben, it's his son Ryan. He doesn't like actresses because his mother and step mother were both actresses, and they both left him.

The Hidden Room was dull, that's really all I can say about it. It was dull and seemed like it would only get more and more dull.

A serviceable story about a traumatized family and a young woman caught up in it all. Struggles with slow pacing in the beginning but a fine little read
