Searching for info on drug selling, ring leader Leaguer gets found out. Luckily, Yakumo, a call boy who was present at the time, helps him. Hoping to get more info, Leauger wants to get close to Yakumo, but things are never as innocent as they seem.
This is probably the only non-beast lover manga that I have read by Haji but it was still really good!
In this story, we have Leauger, an undercover cop who ends up getting caught by the gang he is investigating. While "in captivity", he ends up meeting Yakumo, a call boy who is...well, servicing the man Leauger needs to bust. And it's because of Yakumo vouching for Leauger's innocence that he ends up getting out of that den alive. But Yakumo isn't your typical service boy and while Leauger is preoccupied trying to convince Yakumo of helping him with the drug bust, someone else beats him to the drug bust
Definitely more plot and less smut compared to other Haji titles. While the plot did feel a bit rushed and Leauger went from dorky and dumb to hella competent cop, I did enjoy the teasing between the two. Wish there had been more!
This manga was really good. Rather short but solid read. The combination of gay romance with detectives and assassins, was pretty interesting. There was no big intrigue or anything like that. It felt really intense and engaging throughout, tho.
Two main characters are: Leaguer-the detective & Yakumo-call boy. Their relationship is presented in a natural, rather fitting way. A romance that has an element of danger to it, but it’s also sweet at times. Characters aren’t that complex, but enough fleshed out, to care for them and their relationship. Action scenes are intense and though they’re quick, they add some variety to the story.
I wish this manga was longer or the world was more complexed, but overall romance was sweet and exciting, main characters well fleshed out and the plot was engaging. Pretty nice short manga!
This was an amazing read. The plot was rather intricate, intelligent and dangerous. The feels are real and hard hitting. And the art is amazing.
A detective looking for information on a drug lord, becoming involved with a call boy/assassin and the pain and heartache that comes with such a story. And there were no notorious "yaoi hands" - which I can't tell you how happy I am about this.
I find this one similar to After Morning Love and Before Morning Love series by Fuji Mitori. Which I also loved.
