Furever Mated (BBW Paranormal Shapeshifter Romance) is by Meredith Clarke. I was generously provided with this book in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley, Mark My Words Book Publicity, and by Meredith Clarke.

grizzly bear:

Kurt Donnelly was young and in love. But his girlfriend died tragically and Kurt blamed himself. His grief turned to rage and with nowhere to direct it, he enlisted in the army. His anger got him noticed and he was offered a chance to be a part of an experiment to create super soldiers through genetic testing. The program went horribly wrong leaving the participants as shape shifters. Kurt is a grizzly shifter. Oddly, his bear half calms him and keeps his anger subdued. He is the clan leader of the Charlestown clan. But he still grieves for the love he lost and fears he will never be able to open his heart to another woman.

lab:

Shape shifters are now out in the open, the governments programs long since brought to light. Kurt can’t understand why but women love them. Resorts have popped up all over the place claiming to match women to shifters. One such resort is the Bear Ridge Resort.

cabanas over the water:

Scarlett Jones had been with Adam for a year. At first, she thought she was so lucky to have someone like him. But after a year of missed dates, lies, and she’s sure cheating, she has finally had enough. For the first time ever she stands up for herself and tells him it’s over. Adam is just one in a long list of failed relationships. Maybe she’s just not meant to fall in love.

Neither Scarlett or Kurt want anything to do with meeting someone new. But both Scarlett’s friends and Kurt’s clan drag them off to the Bear Ridge Resort for a fun week of sun and fun. Both plan on hiding away in their rooms and not participating in the planned activities. But after a night of drinking, each seeking somewhere to find some quiet, they find themselves in the library. There is definitely a spark of attraction fueled by the liquor. And that spark leads to a sexy night on the library couch (and desk.) But was it just the liquor or something else that pulled them together?

sexy times:

Just as Scarlett and Kurt are getting to know one another, there are some unexpected guests that arrive at the resort. One particular guest that could potentially tear apart this newly forming bond.

This was a fun little book. Scarlett and Kurt each deserved a HEA, both having suffered. I love the whole bear shifter genre. It’s definitely a different take on shifters and find myself wanting to know more about how their clans work. This was a short, sexy, shifter romance and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more of Meredith Clarke’s work.

This was my first taste of Meredith Clarke's writings and it definitely left me hungry for more.

Kurt is the alpha of his clan of bear shifters, genetically altered ex-soldiers. After the big whoops by the government, they're basically paid off and left alone. A few years later, shifters are out in the open and it seems women can't wait to try these bad boys.

Kurt's been out of the game ever since his college sweetheart was tragically killed. However, the rest of the guys are more than willing to help these women out. They can only go to the exclusive Bear Ridge Resort though if the alpha comes also.

Scarlet has finally gotten fed up with Adam being indifferent to her. Her girlfriends convince her to go on a girl's weekend getaway with the surprise of hunky bear shifters waiting for her on a secluded island resort.

This was a great quick novella. Clarke does a fabulous job of letting us get into both Kurt & Scarlet's minds. It was nice to see both people a bit broken and have them find each other versus the typical woman scorned meets playboy. There's a few steamy romps of course along the ride.

What a great story. Meredith Clarke and Terra Wolf. I just love shifter books. One thing I love about this one is she took two broken people, two people that had closed off their heart, and two people that knew the struggles of life and brought them together.

Kurt was a bear shifter that was so broken. His heart had been ripped into. I can not imagine losing the one that I loved. He felt like he could never love again and did not want to put himself out there. Oh, don’t get me wrong. His body still got cravings, it craved another woman. But Kurt just could not go there.

Scarlett, was in a relationship that was going no were. Her boyfriend Adam was a piece of work. I actually felt like doing a fist pump when she put him in his place and sent him packing..

I thought it was funny how Kurt and Scarlett ended up on a island that was to introduce women to shifters. This was the last place that these two wanted to be, but it is also were their healing begins. It was plain to see that they had friends that cared for them and knew they needed a little push.

There is a little drama on the island and Kurt will be faced with reality. Things could go really bad if Kurt is not careful. If Kurt does not play his care just right Shifter war could break out.

This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

this is obviously just my opinion, but I thought the book was dumb. there was was no flesh to the story. just 2 people who had sex with in the first 2 seconds of meeting .. then they had sex with in meeting the second time with in minutes. you get the idea. no character building, no development of secondary characters, it was confusing because they mentioned the Colorado clan .. but uh i think they were from Boston .. weird.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Furever Mated is a quick read with an unusual bit of shifter lore. I enjoy different tidbits of lore added to stories, each author has their own slant or even several different bits of lore in their series. It simply makes the whole Shifter genre more interesting to me. While there is no official series name, there is at least one other connecting story Furever Mine which I had started to read only to realize that something came before. And as I listen to my own advice, I went looking for the beginning.

Scarlett has had it with her current boyfriend, if you can call him that. Her interest is obviously greater than his since once again he’s left her at the restaurant while he claims to be at work – with partying noise in the background. She broke things off and her group of friends took her on a girls vacation… only there were men or shifters involved in that vacation.

Kurt is the alpha of his clan, and a very grumpy, unhappy alpha at that. A lot has changed since he and the men in his clan first agreed to the military’s genetic changes. Now that the military no longer wants them around, and the program has been ousted he and his men find themselves in isolated areas making finding their true mates a bit difficult. Although Kurt has no interest in a mate, he lost his true love years ago in a tragic accident and no one could possibly take her place in his heart. Until he’s shanghaied by his clan to head to Bear Ridge Resort – a meeting place, island really, where shifter males and human women meet up with the possibility of discovering one’s true mate is the lure.

Kurt and Scarlett’s romance is full of surprises, sexy moments and the realization that there is someone perfect out there for everyone. A bit of drama makes this story interesting. And the resort leaves open all sorts of possibilities for the future. I enjoyed Furever Mated very much and would recommend it for any Shifter Romance or Paranormal Romance reader. This story stops at about the 49% mark on the Kindle and another story (which I did not read) is offered.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

2 books in 1. Forever Mated--Kurt and Scarlett meet at a resort meant to pair women with wealthy shifter men. Both have been hurt by love and don't want to put themselves out there again. But when they meet, they click and when they kiss, they know they are meant for each other.
For Bear or For Worse-- Cole meets Avery at a bar and is smitten at first sight. She's there with coworker Zoey, Cole's longtime friend. They go back to Cole's penthouse and sleep together. But he's gone in the morning, having gotten a text that "she's human". Avery is hurt and doesn't understand. Cole is trying to forget her to keep her safe. But when he sees her getting man handled in a bar, his protective bear comes out.

I personally liked both stories, but feel they both deserve better endings. Epilogue maybe..did they get married? Have kids?

It was a good cottonncandy pnr

Ok the first book was good. I'd say worthy of 5 stars because it hit all the cotton candy PNR tropes just right. The second book was a total DNF for me because the h went from angry and vengeful toward the H to in his pants to in complete shock to in total love in just a few pages and I wanted to rip my eyeballs out. If it hadn't been for the second book, I'd give this a whole-hearted 5 stars, but if I was honest and averaging out the rating for both stories, I'd put this at a serious three. I'm giving it a 4 because bonus books almost don't count. Almost.

This is the first time I have read this author and I have to say I liked the book. Kurt is a governmentally made bear shifter and Alpha of his Clan. He had been in love with a girl and she had died several yrs before he met Scarlett at a matchmaking resort on an island. Scarlett had just ended her latest relationship with a man who didn't deserve her. Both of them had friends step in and coaxing them into going. This was a short book so the romance developed fast so this a good book if you have a couple of hours to relax and just read.

I like that the shifters were not born, but are military experiments and that they are bear shifters living in Boston, my neck of the woods. The premise of the book is that Kurt lost the love of his life to a drunk driver and he shut down and joined the military, where he agreed to undergo experimentation willingly. He is the alpha of his group of ex-soldiers, and they trick him into going on a vacation to an island where he finds out it is a matchmaking trip with human women drooling all over them. How will Kurt last the week when he can't open up his heart to love?

I loved this book. I feel it was well written. I encourage any one looking for a quick easy read to get this one. I read it in one sitting. I enjoyed this story. The authors did a fantastic job. This is the first book I have read by Meredith Clark and I am looking forward to the next book of hers I read. I think this one is worth your time and effort. I am also looking forward to the next book in this series.

Female gets bad rap.

Furever Mated is about Bear Power, and the undeniable power of Love. This is an easy read, with only a few parts that were too involved for me. It puts the "Female" in a bad light. Zoe invites Avery to be a part of her life, and when she DOES fit in, Zoe becomes the typical "Jealous female". We have gotten a bad rap for years, and this is the one thing about the story that I do not like.

This is short, sweet and perfect for some light reading. There isn't any overly drawn out plot, angst or drama. Though there are secondary characters, the focus was really on Kurt and Scarlett. There are also some errors in word use and continuity but they are minimal and can be overlooked.

(Review is for Furever Mated, not the bonus story).

This was a short and very sweet shifter story. I liked both Kurt and Scarlett and their friends. I wished it was a little longer though to add more depth and substance. The conflict with Scarlett's ex was over a little too quickly. He was such a douche. I wanted to him get his butt thoroughly kicked. I wish the version I read had an epilogue as well. It would have been nice to see what life was like for them once they were back home in the real world and not a fantssy vacation.

In Furever Mated, Kurt Donnelly, the Alpha of the Colorado Bear Clan and Scarlett Jones, a young woman recovering from a break-up with her cheating ex-boyfriend meet on an island resort built for shifters to find their mates. The hook-up is fast, the plot simple and the read is quick and enjoyable.

Sparks

A cute refreshing love story. Full of anguish, anger, betrayal, pain, grief, and despair, two lost and broken souls find each other. Both are on vacation against their will but by their friends desperation to help them. Grouchy and unhappy they go alone begrudgingly, then they meet, sparks fly. Surprises are in store fo both of them.

Two people broken by love are coerced into attending a dating resort meant to hook up shifters and humans as mates. Both are fighting it, but as soon as they meet, something clicks and love blooms. There are a few bumps to work out, but... the story is good. I enjoyed the simplicity of the book. It was an enjoyable feel good read. I would recommend it.

Read this book which I enjoyed. Two characters with a broken heart not knowing that they would meet on vacation at Bear Ridge Resort. Kurt an Aloha bear shifter and Scarlett that was convinced to come along with her friends. Both thought to hideout but plans don't work out the way they want cause fate steps in.

An okay read

This wasn’t terrible but it was very stilted. It was too insta love even for a shifter romance. The characters were grossly immature and this read more like a teenage puppy love than actual true love. The characters mannerisms also conflicted with their “adult” personas. I won’t be reading any more of this series simply because I can’t take it seriously.

Furever Mated

Great short read. Kurt thought never to find love again. Scarlett just broke up with her boyfriend that never had time for her. They both end up at on a private island for shifters to meet human women.

There isn't very much story to this HEA shifter story. Shifter falls in love, a tiny bit of drama and the end. It was okay but I was disappointed that the author didn't put more story into this story.

Read in the box set.
A very simplistic story with a few proofing errors that should have been picked up.
Likeable characters and I enjoyed the idea of a resort for shifters to meet potential mates.
Scarlet was a likeable heroine.

A basic, quick PR read.

Cute "Love Boat with shifters" kind of story. Very quick read, perfect for before bed, or a late afternoon. Several typos and bits of clunky grammar, but this story is so sweet I didn't mind that much. Will be reading the rest!

I really enjoyed this book, but it was way too short! I would have liked to read more about Kurt and Scarlett.

Uh, cute little short novella. And I mean short as in I wanted a bit more content. The idea of shifters being government experiments is a rare tell.
