An exploration of all that is beautiful about rain depicts such scenes a as a man on his way home from work, gazing at the rain streaking down his train window and children searching for baby fish in the drops they catch in the woods.
I picked this one up from a library display thinking that it might be good for my science class. It wasn't really about rain though, but about enjoying the small things in life. The author tells the story of four different individuals/ groups and how they enjoy the rain that is falling on the city/town/forest. Some don't appreciate it until they see others enjoying it and remember when they did as well. It's a reminder to be a kid sometimes and quit thinking of everything as a nuisance rather than an adventure!

With each review, I provide Content Considerations, mentioning any objectionable content I come across so that parents and/or conscientious readers (like me) can determine beforehand whether they want to read a book or not. Content surprises are super annoying, especially when you’re 100+ pages in, so here’s my attempt to help you avoid that!

This is the kind of book that makes me almost wish I had kids, so I could give it to them! Through stunningly beautiful and realistic illustrations, a family of four experiences a rainy day with all the magic (and maybe just a smidge of the melancholy) that it can bring. It’s a soothing, descriptive, ambient read, and one of the best picture books I’ve seen in a long time!
Thought it would be the storyline of the two characters on the cover, but it was about separate individuals, although four of the characters overlaped at the end to show that they were a family. But there was a connection between people because of how the story was created, due to the rain.
This book has children, their parents, and an older gentleman enjoying the rain. Some of the language was beautiful. I am not sure it was interesting enough for storytime.
