Almost forty-one-year-old Annabelle Morris, wife to multi-billionaire record label executive Charles Morris of Zenith Productions, and mother of two is at a crossroads in her life. Separated from her husband after walking in on him having sex in the public restroom of a charity event she was hosting, she has arrived on the island of St. John alone and rejected, determined to re-evaluate her life and her marriage. She's tired of being her husband’s showpiece while he pretends she doesn't exist. She's tired of trying to make their marriage work for the sake of their two teenage boys. When she meets Johnny Lightning, a sexy but mysterious piano-playing, bearded sailor, she is tempted to break vows she has never before broken. But Johnny is much younger than she is and seems to be hiding more than a few secrets of his own. From the laid-back sandy beaches of the Caribbean to the elite circles of Dallas high society, Annabelle is forced to make critical choices. Is a chance for happiness worth the risk of giving up the life she has always known? Worth jeopardizing her own and possibly even her children's future? In the end, will she stay on her present course or brave a new and uncharted one? Find Me, Remember Me, and Keep Me is a full and complete novel in three separate parts.

As part of a 3-part serial (?), I enjoyed this one far better than the first. Annabelle's storyline is frustrating no thanks to her asshole of a husband, Charles. Sure he has some clout and maybe the upper hand in their relationship, but I don't understand why Annabelle's so cowed by him when she could easily reverse the situation by threatening his reputation and bruising his ego. Regardless of the specifics, this has taken me completely, I felt Annabelle's frustration, desperation, and longing for something better.
P.S. What's with the label drops? I get it, these people are rich, the constant in-your-face reminder of how superficial they are is slightly annoying... *subjective feedback*
I was a lucky reader that got to read this ARC a new book part two by Michelle Mankin. This is an amazingly beautiful story about self discovery.

Find Me is a story of self discovery. It amazes me that no matter how old we are we are still discovering things about ourselves. Annabelle is a married woman with kids and finds herself at crossroads in her life so she takes a time out to revive herself and goes to the beach to find herself. This story really resonates with me as a woman in her 40's and married. No matter what age women question their worth and confidence is shaken when we are hurt by the ones who should love us the most. Johnny Lighting is in the same boat, he has gone to the Island to run away from life and find himself again. These two find themselves in a situation where they spend lots of time together and have this electric attraction to each other. And the mystery behind who Johnny Lighting is really surprising. love this story it is really about self discovery and finding yourself and the journey to get to that destination. This book felt so real to me that I can imagine myself on the beach that is where I go to find myself again and again....
Remember Me allows us to become better acquainted with Anna. We meet her boys, her family, and her best friend, Claire. And we bear witness to the interactions between Anna and Charles as he attempts to worm (slither?) his way back into her life.
This installment cemented Anna's character for me. She's kind, generous, and compassionate. The interactions with her family and friends were genuine. And it made me all the more certain she deserves more out of life than Charles.
Then Johnny appears once again. Can they remember who they were together back on the island?
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
Continuing on from Book #1 Find Me , Annabelle is back at home trying reluctantly to work things out with her husband Charles. It's a struggle but she will do anything to ensure that her son's Trent and CJ's lives and futures are not threatened , even if it means she has to sacrifice her love and life. I found Remember Me , a bit of an annoying read as I just wanted to grab Annabelle by the shoulders and shake her and say to her "Look, your sons will understand completely if you tell them what is going on " and you have your friend Claire and of course the lovely Johnny Lightning (who btw is a former rockstar) to help support you. I did wonder if Annabelle in this book was using her husband as an excuse because she was too scared to lose him or her self-confidence had taken that much of a dive - that she couldn't believe someone like Johnny would love her - which is sad. This does happen though as women , we often fall in love and sometimes we can get a great guy that makes us happy and thinks the world for us and shows it , whereas other times we can get a guy who can make us question whether or not we are making the right choice and often have that niggly insecurity feeling at the back of your mind and constantly sacrificing yourself for others. In saying that though, the part that I did love most about Remember Me is that we get an insight into Annabelle's past and we get to meet her siblings , which I enjoyed and when the truth is revealed about Johnny and he whispers and turns up in the suit - that made me swoon and I was like YAY - He came back :). If you love contemporary romance and are sick of reading about Teen Angst or the New Adult age group but still want the feel of love , sex and rock n roll - then you will fit right at home with Michelle Mankin's Finding Me 3-part series.
A thrill shot through me at the sound of his low, entrancing voice. Though he hadn't yet touched me, I felt his delicious heat, and then the warmth of this breath as his lips hovered near the sensitive skin below my ear. "Remember me?" he whispered. ***
In a lot of ways REMEMBER ME is like FINDING ME. In FINDING ME Anna is trying to find herself after leaving a husband that was unfaithful one too many times. She is trying to figure out who she is, where the old her went, and who she will become. In REMEMBER ME she has to figure out who she is after knowing Johnny Lightning for such a short, but beautiful moment in time, all while trying to reconcile with her husband once again.
I really enjoyed this part of the series. While we didn't get the hotness and romance like we did in part one, we did get an amazing story. And it was perfect. That is what this book called for...story!! Mankin delved deeper into her Anna's character and let us get to know her a little more. And I came out of this book really feeling for her and wishing for her to find a way out of this loveless marriage and back into the arms of the man she loves.
This series is a definite must read for anyone that is looking for a quick and enthralling read. I was hooked from the start of part one and this one left me eager to dive into the next and final part. And after that ending it seems that all hell is about to break loose. I for one cannot wait. So I am off to read it and see what happens next!!!
'm a huge fan of Michelle Mankin, as both a writer and a person. I've read almost all of her books and each one pulls you into the story and has you loving and connecting with the characters. I loved how this book is set up In to three separate parts, coming together to create one whole story.
In part 2, we get to experience more Anna. Her struggles and what her life is like off the island. I loved getting to know her more. I can't wait to see her character grow more and finally be who she really is and actual live life. Everyone needs a friend like Claire. We also get to meet Anna's siblings and I really hope we get more of them in the future.
This book is full of new information and really lets the reader get to know the character. It felt like it was the calm, before the storm. Then that ENDING!!! How could we ever forget you Johnny!! Thankfully we don't have to wait for part 3!!! I'm diving in now because I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!
Charles is a manipulative SOB, using his financial control over Annabelle to keep her. Annabelle tries to remain strong and confident but without Johnny, the confidence she has gained starts to slip. Annabelle discovers some of Johnny's secrets and he could be the one to stand up for her and help her get life back.
Annabelle's confusion and uncertainty reigns throughout as she tries to understand Charles' motives, who she is and what she wants. Whilst you can't help but feel frustrated by Annabelle, in understanding more about her situation you can't help but empathise with her and hope she gets the HEA she deserves.
Although short it was succinct, endearing, captivating and engaging. I am thoroughly enjoying this series.
We pick up with Annabelle having left the island and gone back home with Charles announcing he's moving back in. She still has no backbone and doesn't seem to know how to speak up for herself. She's a wonderful mother to her boys, she just needs to tell Charles to back off.
I missed Johnny is this volume but then we got this cool ending which leaves you grinning and definitely wanting to see what happens in the conclusion.
Remember Me is book 2 of a trilogy. I am not a fan of short books and had the full trilogy not been immediately available I would have skipped it.
The book pics up right where book 1 left off. Charles; Annabelle’s estranged husband, seemingly wants to resume and reignite their marriage. But, Annabelle simply cannot get past all of his former indiscretions and is passed the point of wanting to making the marriage work.
Charles knows of her indiscretion with Johnny at St. John’s. He’s decided to use it as a weapon. Charles is still trying to progress their marriage back to a physical relationship - Annabelle is still resisting.
Johnny isn’t much of a presence in book 2, but who he is comes to light to Annabelle and she’s taken back. Charles leads on that he to knows who Johnny is; a former rockstar. Charles could probably do some damage to Johnny with this coming to light and Annabelle is a nervous wreck. …. So much so that she’s tossed her cookies a few time! Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Johnny makes an appearance at a big event that Annabelle has put together. He’s cleaned up and very much now looks like the rockstar that he is - all of which was camouflaged with a lot more hair and a big beard back on St. John’s. End of book 2.
Kai and Wen gave another stunning performance. I love how you got the under current of emotions between Annabelle and Charles. I even love that there is a surprise leading up to the reveal, but it isn't just 100% obvious. This series is so smooth and feels like just 1 book, but the cliffhangers it leaves you at are so evil that they leave you begging for the next part. I even love how they point out family is a huge deal and that it keeps pushing more towards happiness being a close runner up in life priorities. I hadn't realized it until sitting down to write this review, but these stories so far make you want to look at your life and make sure you have your priorities in order.
Annabelle has unwillingly returned to Texas with her estranged husband, Charles. Knowing she has been with another man, Charles is pulling out all the stops to get his wife to resume their unhappy marriage. Then through a series of coincidences, Annabelle discovers Johnny is a very famous rock star trying to live under the radar. Hosting a gala fund raiser, she is totally unprepared when a freshly shaved Johnny shows up.
Wow, wow, wow,… This series just keeps getting better and better I can’t put it down I’ve read two books today I can’t wait to get started on number three. Charles needs to be put in his place and I hope Annabelle takes care of that!
Omg! This 2nd book of the series has kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see what is gonna happen next, I highly recommend this book to others.
Great read. While you don't have to read the rock star books by Michelle, it does help. You'll meet Charles in a few of the earlier books so you'll have an idea of who he is. Good series... just started Part 3.
This is the second book in this series. Here we find out who Johnny really is, but of course we don't find out until the end of this book! On to the next one to find out what happens!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Find Me, Remember Me, Keep Me books by Michelle Mankin. I always enjoy Michelle’s writing but I particularly enjoyed this romance which features older characters, and for once, an older than the hero, heroine (shocker!).
Michelle gave me a taster of the first book back in November and then left me hanging for more! When an ARC of all three books arrived on my kindle I was beside myself and delved back in straight away. I re-read all the chapters that I had already read so I could be transported to St John with Anna and Johnny!
Initially, the story is set on the Island of St John which Michelle describes beautifully. I absolutely adore books with an Island setting and this was no exception. This story, told mostly from Anna’s point of view, but also occasionally from Johnny, is more than just a romance story; it’s a story of self-discovery, and rejuvenation. At the start of these books, Anna’s confidence was at an all-time low, it was great to see that turn around and for Anna to find herself once more.
Annabelle, a forty one year old, mother of two teenage boys, travels to St John alone following her marriage breakdown. Her best friend Claire arranges for Anna to stay at her brother Johnny’s beachside villa. Johnny isn’t supposed to be there, and Anna believes that the caretaker is meeting her at the port. But, well, that’s not quite the situation! Of course!
We don’t get the greatest first impression of Johnny but he sure turns it around. What’s not to love about a mysterious, bearded, troubled but gentle souled fella? Johnny was a great character; he had his own issues going on but the way he gave Anna her confidence back and fought for her was heart-warming. Is that enough to give Anna the courage to end her unhappy and demeaning marriage permanently and find the happiness she deserves?
I read all three books in one sitting. It was effortless reading for me, and I enjoyed the escape. There was angst, drama, lots of swooning, and a terrible villain! The door is wide open for more from these characters and I can’t wait to read more!
I believe some of the characters in this book may be familiar to some who have read Michelle’s other work. I hadn’t come across these characters before, but that didn’t stop my enjoyment of this story. This story can be read without having read the other books, without question.
If you’re looking for a fab quick read that is a great escape but tells a sweet and heart-warming story (with the odd bit of nookie thrown in!), then look no further. Enjoy!
Oh and as a side note, I LOVED all the references to James Bond!
First of all can I say, this cover is so sexy. And its not because it has that sizzle factor its more because of its simplicity. The cover model is gorgeous and he has the most simple yet sincere expression on his face. Love it.
I read all three parts of this book in succession so I am just going to write an overall review and post it for the other two parts as well.
This story is a true romantic read. I literally felt my heart flutter while reading this story. The words that Mankin puts to paper drip with love, admiration and pure heart. The character Johnny is a true gentleman who guards those he cares for with genuine ferocity and loves unequivocally. He will make you melt into gushy little pieces.
I also enjoyed the character of Annabelle. Annabelle is an older woman with two teenage boys and a husband who is a jerk at his finest. He treats Annabelle like property and in an attempt to regain her life and dignity she takes a personal trip to St. Johns. Its like a reset button. Annabelle though she has her insecurities is still a very strong character. Throughout the novel she faces very real and understandable obstacles and dilemmas for a woman in her position. She wants a love that is real but she also must do what is best for her family and children. I liked seeing her struggle with her emotions and what was the right course for her. That is life, its not easy all the time to make decisions especially when you are at a different phase in your life.I liked seeing her overcome the barriers that kept her from being happy from the perspective of an older woman.
I would have liked the story to be a bit longer with some more development with Johnny and Annabelle's family, especially her sons. Annabelle's sons were very important to her and I would have liked to see some more conversation and bonding between them and Johnny, we get a small glimpse of them together and some conversation between Annabelle and her son CJ and Trent, but i would have liked Mankin to delve into that a bit more from both the perspective of the boys and Annabelle.
Overall I enjoyed this story, there are some heart wrenching moments, some moments that will make you seriously pissed especially when it comes to Annabelle's husband Charles, and some moments that will lift your spirits. I enjoyed the underlying theme of second chances. Both Johnny and Annabelle has a history of heartbreak and I loved that they both were able to get past it and find happiness again.
I have been reading Mankin for some time now and she never disappoints. Satisfying romantic read with true heart!
I couldn’t wait for Remember Me Part 2 when I finished Find Me Part 1. I think I have a ”series addiction” to these books which only falls in line with thinking that I had a “book high” after finishing Part 1. After being led along by the author in Find Me into a great set up for Remember Me there is no way that I am going to write a big review on this book only because I cannot wait to start Keep Me Part 3.
If you thought that Ms. Mankin had a great ending in Part 1 with the “what the hell” and with the mouth wide open just wait until you read Part 2. Annabella left the island with her husband Charles after he left her no choice if she put her kids’ best interest in front of her own. But what happened to Johnny? Not even his sister and Annabelle’s best friend, Claire, knows where he is right now and at this point he is nothing but a fond memory (or a really hot erotic dream..wink, wink) to Annabelle. I am still trying to figure out if Charles’ intention of trying to make the marriage work is for real or not. I have to hand it to Annabelle for her quick thinking when Charles demanded moving back into their bedroom. Annabelle thought that before they took that step that they both should be tested by a doctor to make sure they were clean.
Annabelle has finally learned who Johnny really is. You are introduced to Annabelle’s brother and sister and they, along with Claire, are helping Annabelle with a fundraiser for The Wounded Warriors of which, her own brother is one of. At one point in the party she hears people mentioning Johnny’s name and turns and cannot believe that her Johnny is standing there and comes up to her and whispers by her ear “Remember Me”. Love, Love, Love the ending. Now I’m off to read Keep Me Part 3.
This book was provided as an ARC from the author for an honest review.
What a touching, moving novel – a true love story. As always, Mankin created empathetic characters that you can’t help but love. I always sympathize with her heroines, and her heroes are to die for. Seriously, charismatic doesn’t even cover it. Even her secondary characters are fully fleshed out with detailed backstories of their own.
This book has a character and romance driven plot. It’s the story of a woman, Annabelle, realizing at the age of 40 that she’s been settling all her adult life and that she’s lost the person she used to be. She takes an island vacation to make some decisions about her marriage and ends up meeting Johnny Lightning. He helps her see the person she was and wants to be and gives her the confidence to be herself again, but in the end, it is she who must find strength to stand up for herself. The dialog about love at the end is beautiful.
As the product description states, this book is sold in three parts, but all three were released on the same day and priced at 99¢ each, so I was able to buy the whole ebook for $2.97. I usually avoid serials like the plague because I hate waiting for next installment, often forgetting details of the previous ones before the next comes out, and because I think they’re a rip off when they sell for $2.99-$4.99 each and you have no idea how many installments you’ll need to buy. To get the complete story, you often end up paying way more than a normal book of the same length would cost. So I appreciate how Mankin released and priced Find Me, Remember Me, and Keep Me. I decided to do one review for all three parts since they comprise one book.
I absolutely devoured Find Me (book 1)... and had to dive straight into this book after finishing the first book... I couldn't wait to find out where the story would lead
In Find Me we saw how Anna met Johnny... but as you should know if you have read it... that ending what ARRRRGGGHH... NOOOOO !!!!! scream at your kindle kind of end...
But don't worry there is so much more drama to come in this book... oh boy :)
We also get a few surprises too.... OMG SHOCKER (Johnny).... was not expecting that, I knew Johnny had some secrets... but omg that was a good one :)
Anna (and Johnny) goes through so much in this book, I really felt for Anna... she just felt kind of... stuck and she felt as if she had no options and I felt so so sorry for her :(
If you fell in love with Anna and Johnny in Find Me.. oh boy your in for a real treat with Remember Me
Read it you will love it
p.s. OMG... Can I just say WOW what a way to end a book........ haha Michelle.. Love, Love, Love the way you ended this book, even though it is kind of a cliff hanger (which I normally HATE) But this was a good cliff hanger :) and..... book 3 is available NOW, so no wait.. you can dive straight into the final book in this epic series
Overall... Michelle did not disappoint with Remember Me
I absolutely loved book 1.. so I was nervous to start this book as sometimes the second book never lives up to the first book... But no, Remember Me just made me fall more in love with these amazing characters (well some of them) haha
You all NEED to read these books.. I cant recommend them enough
Part Two to the Finding Me Series was as gripping and as touching as book one. Picking up right where we left off, Annabelle is as miserable as she has ever been, now back to trying to force herself to act the dutiful wife to Charles Morris. But her heart is still with Johnny, the man she lost her heart to, on an island getaway to St. John.
With this latest installment, we watch as Annabelle goes through the motions, her only bright spot, her two boys and the bestie she has in Cassie, who happens to be Johnny's sister. As Annabelle dives headfirst into her work, planning a charity event, she is only more lonely by the minute, wishing things could be different for her.
This is a series I am loving. The older woman, somewhat younger man kind of theme. Played against the turmoil of that woman and what she wants and yes, even deserves, out of life. Wanting what is best for her family yet knowing she might never get what she really wants. The memories of a man who brought her back to life. I am finding myself glued to my Kindle, not knowing how it might all play out but rooting wholeheartedly that Annabelle and Johnny might just find their way back to each other.
Michelle Mankin has once again upped her game and brought to life a story that is a fresh as it is touching. Characters created that take a hold of your heart and don't let go.
Part Three will be here in a couple of days. Thank goodness!! I am nervous but excited to see how it all plays out.
