***Received from author for an honest review***

This isn’t the ending I was expecting. Well, that’s not true. Sort of.

I expected Caleb and Ashleigh to have a happy ending together. I expected them to get married (usually logical after getting engaged, lol). I expected them to live in peace with the Morgan vampires.

They got all that…just not how I thought they would. Why do I say that? Because the loss suffered to get all of this was heartbreaking for me to read.

I think some part of me knew what Drake was going to do to Ashleigh, but I think another part of me hoped he wouldn’t. After all, he would be taking her from so much. I think I hoped for too much, because my dislike for Drake has only grown every time he made an appearance. He’s slimier than a worm and more cunning than a snake. He knows what he wants and does whatever is necessary to get it.

Even if it means tearing a family apart.

Blood War moves fast, pulling the reader into this paranormal world from page one and not letting them go until “The End”. My heart ached with every twist and turn in this book that seemed to pull Caleb and Ashleigh further apart. There was one part of this story when I wasn’t even sure their relationship could be salvaged. It was the one time in this entire series where I really hoped that saying, “Love conquers all,” was true.

It was going to take more than an apology to make things right between it seemed.

It isn’t fair that this series has come to an end. How do you say goodbye to characters you’ve fallen in love with? They stay with you. I don’t think I’ll look at another vampire story the same, to be honest. I’ll miss the gore and horror that are staple elements in Ms. Sieverding writing.

Thank you, Ms. Sieverding, for creating such an interesting and different paranormal world, for giving life to a terrific cast of characters, and for writing an ending that was expected but unexpected.

Without you there is no happiness, no life. If I left this world and my body behind, there would be nothing left, but my love for you–the love so deeply embedded in my soul that is eternal and never ending.

Blood War is the third and last installment of H.N. Sieverding's Nightwalkers series. I read it first because I won it in a giveaway, but it definitely made me want to go back and read them in order. That being said, Blood War can stand on its own. The author does a good job of setting up the background at the beginning of the book.

There are two very sexy guys in this book. My favorite was Caleb, Ashleigh's sexy rocker/vampire fiancee. He is a good man and more of a traditional hero in this book. Even so, I still had a soft spot for Drake. He's an arrogant but still pretty irresistible villain. Not an antihero, though--he doesn't have too many redeeming qualities, and you don't really end up sympathizing with him (or at least I didn't).

All in all, a great, quick read with memorable characters. And I loved the ending. There was a dark little twist at the end that worked perfectly. I think there's enough material for a fourth book, but don't know if that's in the works. I think it could work.

I have personally gotten to know the author H.N. Sieverding through social media and love all of her writing especially the vampire series she writes. This book is #3 from the series and was just as good as the first two books. I love the romance, killing, and dark humor that the series provides. If you love vampire fantasy, romance, and some dark killing, then this series is for you.

The Blood Wars ~ H. N. Sieverding

As the drama continues unfolds the Blood Wars from the previous installment of Nightwalkers penned H. N. . Siverdling shifts into is in high gear as the Blood Wars between the Morgan vampires take on Count Drake.

H. N. Sieverding magnificently creates a storyline that may appear to be predictable but ohhh my friends she transports her audience into the twist and turns of a roller coaster ride into the deep tombs of darkness. Ms. Sieverding squeezes the readers’s rapidly pounding heart with sensuality, darkness, and raw activities of vampires. Ms. Sieverding sophistication as a masterful storyteller, provides me and others with the biting suspense of a chiller movie. I was captivated by the intensity of the pain, suffering, love and dependency she breathes into her characters.

I developed a kindred spirit with Ashleigh, Natalie, Caleb. I felt the chill of the dark tombs, the sizzle of the passion between Ashleigh and Caleb and the wicked stench of Drake’s drive for retaliation.

There are a multitude of angles embedded in Blood Wars casting shimmering lights of every color spectrum of a precious rainbow as it passes from Ms. Sieverding imagination to the souls of her characters before it takes control of the reader. The transport is spectacular to say the least. Just when I thought I knew what would occur next I am blasted between the eye with yet another dimension that add an aroma of suspense, sexiness, drama and tenderness.

I enjoyed the insertion of fragments of humor interjected into the storyline with the entrance of Zander. His innocence and antics has a bit of devilishness dripping with a chuckle. The interactions between Natalie, Grand and Zander are humorous and endearing perfectly sprinkled about in Blood Wars. I found this effect pleasant and well planned to ease some of the hardships and turmoil taking place on the battlegrounds between vampires the Morgans against Count Drake.

I found the message of the power of love has many scars and but can be so forgiving if it is truly love..maybe lust.

Blood Wars is a read that will keep you ripping through the pages all night along and perhaps a bit jumpy at the strange noises come alive in your home as the darkness slides from page to the willow-like shadows cross your windows.
