Turner discovers who the real boss is and it's not who he always thought it was all these years, but a blast from his past, one that takes his breath away.
When the sexy bad boy Therian Agent goes off the reservation, ONCE AGAIN, I’ll bet no one expected he would find the woman who could finally tame both the man and the lion within. As always, Fate makes allowances for no man or metamorph and the object of his affection is the daughter of his arch enemy, the one he killed not too long ago. Riley has just witnessed the unbelievable and she is terrified, her sister has disappeared and in her place is a huge and hairy lioness. Turner to the rescue, but who will rescue Turner from the beautiful woman who is wiggling her way into his heart? How can he tell her, I love you and I think I killed your father in the same breath and expect her to say, stuff happens…?
Thing is, Turner is not convinced Richard Boyd is dead because more and more humans are morphing into animals and now, one of his own daughters has shifted. Who has continued his heinous and barbaric research on innocent victims? Turner is determined to find out and keep his mate safe from harm and the secrets he carries. We all know what happens with lies of omission…and Turner is about to find out, but will that be the biggest revelation discovered? Will this budding romance with the sizzling chemistry get off the ground or will Riley leave behind only the scorched sheets of what they briefly shared?
Sizzle and burn, twist and turn, Chantel Seabrook has conjured up another hotter than blazes romance with Turning Payne. Everybody loves a bad boy, and everybody loves to see them brought to their knees by the power of a woman, am I right? Ms. Seabrook has brought Turner to his knees and yet, he is alpha all the way, full of good, if misguided intent, when the odds are stacked against them, he is all about doing the right thing for the right reasons! Riley actually had a pretty good head on her shoulders, considering what she has experienced, including the strip-down prelude to Turner’s shift, not to mention seeing the beast he becomes. Start to finish, the tension rolls along at a whiplash pace, and boy, the action? The twists? That electric jolt of discovery? Did NOT see that coming! Another fabulous page turner from Chantel Seabrook. Oven Mitts, optional, but trust me, this one is hot!
I received an ARC edition from Chantel Seabrook in exchange for my honest review.

Turner Payne, the brother of Chase Payne, is a Therian agent. The Therian agency deals with metamorphs (humans whose dna is altered and causes them to be able to shape shift to a Lion, Tiger, Bear, Wolf, Coyote). The agency has been dealing with an outbreak of people who have changed and run amok, trying to learn what made these people change. Enter Turner's mate to be and her sister. The sister has shape shifted as a result of temporary dna problems that will not allow her to shift back to being a human. The book then devolves into a chase to find the Father of the shape shifter who probably knows how to restore her to humanity. And Turner falls in love, so does his amour. Their quest begins an adventure of loving and being captured, having their very lives threatened, and finally ending up together forever. A masterfully written story, this one. It has explicit sexual scenes that are necessary to the book within. Therefore I would not recommend the book to anyone under the age of 18. I recommend it highly though and enjoyed it thoroughly. A fantasy story is difficult to write and the author has done a wonderful job of making her characters believable,. real and lovable. A really good one. As the dates of reading show I had a hard time putting the book aside at all. A 2 day read.
After reading the first book I wasn't sure how they were going to link it together. Seabrook definitely did not disappoint with this one! I love how she portrayed Turner as the bad boy, doesn't follow directions and may be a little obsessed with Boyd. The unexpected connection between Turner and Riley is great. You can feel the love they have for each other jumping from the pages. She is a little feisty, apprehensive but ultimately love takes over and she follows her heart...and a little voice inside her head lol There are now even more unanswered questions after all the events of this book that really make you want to read the next one. What is going on with their mother? Is Lora pregnant, or am i just overthinking the whole pickle eating, ice cream searching whole scene?
For the past year, Turner Payne has told anyone who'll listen that his mortal enemy Richard Boyd is still alive. When fate throws Turner and both of Richard's daughters together, Turner will protect them both with his life, but one of them is his fated mate.
Riley Boyd wakes up to the nightmare nobody wants to wake up to. Her younger sister Kiera is not herself today. In fact, she's morphed into a two-hundred-pound lion who doesn't recognize her loving sister as anything but prey. Lucky for Riley, Turner about runs her down with his car when she stumbles out into the road in sheer disbelief.
After a scuffle with a "friend" and Riley is almost injected with the same serum that turned Kiera, Turner convinces Riley she will be safe with him (I guess anything's possible after the morning she's having) and to come with him to his place so he can keep her safe and he'll have big brother Chase take care of her sister. Riley agrees and a couple of bizarre days follow including coming face to face with dear ol' deceased dad. At first shock and disbelief but then outrage and horror follow. Finally, Turner is vindicated! Richard Boyd lives!
Turner realizes he is attracted to Riley and later realizes she is his mate. What was the goddess thinking mating him to the daughter of his enemy?! Riley is equally attracted to Turner and welcomes the distraction from the current nightmare. Turner has to figure a way to tell Riley that her sister may be trapped as a lion forever but he is unwilling to let that happen and puts himself in danger to try and reverse the spontaneous morphing Kiera has experienced by becoming a lab rat.
Turner and Riley come together and join forces to take down Richard Boyd, only Richard's not the man in charge Turner believed him to be. Turner's world is rocked when he finds the woman in charge is none other than Circe, his mother. Nevertheless, Riley has to make a life-altering decision that will end the life of Turner or her father.
In book 2 of this awesome series Therian Agents, we find that Chase Payne's brother Turner is still doing things that will land him in trouble with the Agency.
Turner Payne is so convinced that the evil Boyd, who he was accused of being responsible for setting the fire that killed him, is still alive that he is watching his daughters residence. Then one night on his way to his apartment that he has set up close to the girls, he is forced to a screeching halt when a girl in pajamas appears in his headlights. But worse then that is what stirs in him when he sees Boyd's oldest daughter Riley.
Riley Boyd can't believe the horrible thing that has happened to her little sister and then to learn that all she ever believed is a lie, it's more then she can handle. The only thing that keeps her calm and sane is the belief that Turner somehow will help her sister, not gto mention the fact that he warms her from head to toe.
There are a couple of unexpected surprises in this book, it will make your jaw drop like it did mine. Can't wait for the next book.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love this one just as much I love the first book. Who doesn't love an Alpha male lion shifter and Turner is HOT! And he falls hard for the daughter of his enemy.
Turner Payne knows that the ghost he's been chasing is alive, he just has to prove it. The question is, what happens when there are multiple ghosts? Riley Boyd, the daughter of Turner's ghost, just found a lion where her sister used to be! What? How does that even happen? This very well written story is filled with twists, turns and a whole lot of steam! There is an instant connection between Turner & Riley that only gets stronger, the more time they spend together. Can Riley trust Turner to help her, or will his demons scare her away? This book was a quick, exciting read and I can't wait to check out the rest of the series!
Ok I know I've said it before...but I have to say it again... Lionshifters are my favorite! This book did not disappoint.. loved it from cover to cover.. the plot cliffhanger continues in this book with Riley and Turner fight the "evil" forces working against them...this book has a HEA but the plot continues into book 3.... And that is where I'm headed...lol... I recommend this book to anyone that loves Shifter books... I do recommend you start with book 1 in the series... Book 3 here I come....
A great 2 and book in the series, some questions have been answered, ghosts from the past resurface and more questions are formulated with no conclusive, as yet, answer. Turner is hot, Riley is fierce, they make a great match.
5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆ Title: Turning Payne A Therian Agents Romance Author: Chantel Seabrook Reviewer: Stephanie Jordan #Paranormal #LionShifter #HotSteamySex ☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆ Wow I was sucked right in, from beginning to end. Of course I had no intention of putting it down either, who needs food, this book just never stops, I loved it. Do I recommend this book ahhhh h*ll Yes!! Turner Payne is a Lion Shifter, working at the Therian Agency. A lot of things were happening, not just one or two cases either. Humans were just turning into animals, losing there humanity only to be a predator never changing back. Turner knew in his bones whose fault it was, Professor Richard Boyd the psychotic killer of hundreds of Shifters. BUT according to the Therian Council Boyd was dead and Payne better watch himself or he'll be out of a job. Geezzzzz if they knew he lived a few blocks away from Boyd's daughter's there is no doubt he'd be fired. Riley Boyd knew she was losing her mind, there was no way she could describe it. How is it possible there was a lioness in her sister Kiera bed sleeping and where was her sister. Her sister has to come back to her human form. How is this even possible? I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
This is the second book in the series of The Therian Agents. This is Turners story and oh my, what a story it is!!
The agency is still dealing with humans spontaneously shifting into animals and are stuck this way. So far, the agency has no answers or any leads and are putting all of their resources into this problem. They need to help the humans stuck in animal form but they also have to stop humans knowing about metamorphs.
Turner is still getting himself into trouble with the agencyand his older brother, Chase. He is obsessed with the scientist Professor Richard Boyd, who everyone believes has died in a fire. Turner was there the night of the fire. Turner's obsession with Boyd is due to his experiments on metamorphs.
For years, Turner has followed Boyd and his two daughters, Riley and Kiera. However, fate plays a game and throws them both together, when Turner finds Riley standing in the middle of the road. She is standing there because in the bedroom of his sister, is now a lion. Turner knows what has happened and promises to help them both.
They are both attracted to each other,, but can Turner get over his obsession with Riley's father? Can he help the sister's?
This story is packed with mysteries, intrigue, suspicion and lust. You can read this book as a stand alone but I highly recommend you read the whole series, especially if you loce paranormal romance.
Turner Payne is an agent for the Therian agency that deals with metamorphs or shape shifters. Metamorphs are humans whose DNA has an altered gene allowing them to shape shift, the Therian Agency is dealing with humans that are spontaneously changing into an animal and are unable to change back. The agency was able to determine that those spontaneously changing have a recessive gene from a distant relative that was a metamorph.
Riley wakes one morning to find a lion in her sister Kiera's bed, and her sister no where to be found. Riley is standing int he middle of the road when Turner finds her. Turner helps Riley figure out what's going on and why her sister was changed, but also that her father is the one responsible for the metamorphs.
I really enjoyed reading this book, can you imagine the headline "Lynx killed in home, wife no where to be found." Turner and Riley are great together, they are willing to do whatever it takes to protect each other, and they have steaming chemistry. I loved these two together, and there is a twist in the end of the story that I never saw coming. The story is a great read its full of action, romance, and a must read if you like shifter stories.
So, I had been waiting for this book for a while. I fell in love with Turner in the previous book een though he was just the brother of the MC. Now he is the MC and I love him even more.
Turner has a vendetta to settle. It's a need for revenge that has so far affected every area of his life. Like his brother Chase, he is an agent for the therian agency but he is on thin ice. Chase has had to bail him out more times than he could count.
Now, someone is creating shifters and it isn't right. Turner has an idea who it may be but no one believes him, thinking him obsessed with settling the score. When a girl comes running out into the street in front of him, terror on her face, he knows exactly who she is. He had been watching her. What he didn't know, was what this girl would mean for him and his life - or the secrets she would help him uncover about his own family.
I don't read much shifter stuff but I can't seem to stop reading these books. They're oh so sexy with leading me to die for. The action is intriguing and even the girls are likable - not annoying at all. When I finished reading, all I wanted was more Turner. Can't wait for the next one.
"In Love with the Enemy's Daughter" This is an exciting and suspenseful series!. The characters are amazing!. So far this is my favorite book in this series. I just love bad boy Turner!. Turner is a Lion shifter who works for the Therian council as an agent. Turner has been in trouble with the council when he was accused of killing a mad scientist named Richard Boyd. Only Turner does not believe Boyd is dead. Now the council has a big case it seems someone has been morphing into animals. Making them a shifter of sorts only they have not been able to shift back!. Turner believes Boyd is some how behind it. So he rented an apartment near Boyds Daughters. On the way home he almost hits a young woman standing in the road!. She turns out to be Boyd's oldest Daughter Riley. Riley tells him there is a Lioness in her house in her Sisters room!. Turner has a suspicion the Lioness is Riley's sister. You will love this series!. It is full of mystery,Suspense, action, and scorching hot Romance!
Turning Payne is a terrific follow up to the first book in the series, Chasing Payne. This book can be read standalone but you will get so much more out of it if you read Chasing Payne first. Lion shifter Turner Payne is driven and obsessed and he is on the very edge of losing everything he has worked for because of it. This book is filled with twists and surprises not the least of which is finding out that the fates have decreed that his mate is the daughter of his mortal enemy. Will she accept him if she finds out he was responsible for her fathers’ death? Oh the fun you will have reading this. I am so looking forward to the next installment because although Turner uncovered a lot of answers he also gave us bunches of new questions. Turning Payne is a PNR romantic suspense that will keep you enthralled to the very last page. A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review
This is the 2nd book about the Therian Agents with the Payne brothers. This is Turners's story, but Chase & Lora from book one are here as well. Turner is obsessed with the mad scientist who everyone but him believes is dead. He's been stalking the man's daughters for years. Which puts him right where he can help Riley when trouble comes to her & her younger sisters door. I loved this book! There were mysteries, puzzles, intrigue, twists & turns, suspicion, unexpected deaths, betrayals, kidnappings, and surprises galore. All done with a romance that weaves it's way through it all. Tons of excitement kept me riveted until the final page and the setup for the next book has me waiting very impatiently for its arrival. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As good as book one is, this standalone addition to the series is even better. Turner, the Therian Agent Chase's younger brother (book one), has never let go of the idea that the psychotic genetic research scientist Professor Richard Boyd survived the fire Therian Affairs believes killed him. And now that humans are spontaneously shifting into animals, unable to shift back, Turner is even more convinced Boyd is involved. Since Boyd's supposed death, Turner has been keeping tabs on Boyd's two daughters, Riley and Kiera. That is, until Riley runs in front of his car one night claiming there is a lion in her sister's bedroom and that she can't find her sister. Turner quickly realizes Kiera has turned, but how? And why is he so attracted to his enemy's daughter, Riley? This is a 4.5 star KU Library read.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in this series. I was taken by surprise with this one. I liked that the characters were two people who didn’t really know each other that well and who actually, on a certain level, hated each other. I liked that they had to work to overcome those obstacles standing in their way and that it was not a quick solution overall, like some books show us. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more works from this author in the future and I would like to see where this series goes from here. *Sorry I do not like to give too much away in my reviews as it ruins the joy for everyone else wanting to experience it for themselves*
Although it is believed that Turner had killed arch enemy Richard Boyd, he still doesn't believe it is true, something deep his gut tells him that Richard still lives. He may be obsessed, but he still stalks the apartment of Richard Boyd.
He's driving down the road when he nearly runs over a woman in the street, a woman he recognizes as Boyd's daughter Riley, whose is visibly shaken after a lot of convincing he manages to get her back to her place, to find out that her sister Kiera is now a lion. Kiera's state only reiterates what has been in Turners mind the whole time, Richard Boyd is alive.
This was an amazing and passionate story with a lot of feels. Loved it!
Payne Payne and more pain. Great read about two who shouldn't meet and shouldn't love. The saga continues with the rising numbers of people turning into animals and there being no rescue or cure in sight. A fast paced read with a few toe curling interludes make this a fun and good read. The story line is strong with strong Alpha shifters curling the toes of innocent humans. Turner is sprung but is his heart safe with the human daughter of his number one enemy? He is the only one that believes the man presumed dead in a blast he has been cleared of causing, is he correct. So many questions and answers that lead to more questions with the biggest twist no one saw coming. Excitement, fun, intrigue and love. What more can you ask for. . . except a shifter of your own.
Amazingly written to where you just fall in love with turner Payne! This is the first series I've started to read by this author and let me say Wow! I don't like to give any spoilers but if you love shifters, romance, action, intense sexual alpha male bad ass shifter, and just a great story line that keeps you hooked, then you will love this series, I recommend you start with book one. I ended up staying up late reading the entire book in a day I just couldnt put down...so yeah I was tired next day but man it was worth it!! Now I'm on to book 3, so happy it is on kindle unlimited!! Amazing job Chantel Seabrook
After reading Chasing Payne, I was excited to receive an ARC of the next instalment "Turning Payne". While I wanted to read it, I had my doubts that screw-up Turner could live up to the swoon worthy Chase from book 1.
Boy was I wrong! Move over, Chase, your little brother is hot, sexy, really really hot (did I mention that?) and yeah, I kinda love him.
I love that these stories are quick, entertaining reads. They're fleshed out enough to have depth, but still compact enough to keep me entertained.
