He’s the reason the small community of Saint Christie locks their doors at night. The tattooed bad boy lives on the wrong side of the tracks…when he isn’t behind bars.
It was easy to fall for the sexy trouble-maker, and we once planned to start a new life and family together. But when a fire destroyed my family's candy shop, Maddox saved me only to be convicted for the arson.
He spent a year in prison, and now he's out. Maddox wants me, and he's determined to make the baby I promised him.
But the real arsonist still threatens us. The only way we’ll survive is if I can prove Maddox’s innocence and bring the criminal to justice.
Before the man I love loses his life to revenge.
This sexy, bad boy romantic mystery is a standalone with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. For a limited time only, Bad Boy’s Baby is also included with this novel. Bad Boy’s Baby is a bonus full-length, bad-boy quarterback romance. Enjoy!
So I read these books (Bad Boy's Baby, Revenge and Bridesmaid) for research purposes. Only one out of the 3 were safe. That's this one Revenge. The other two were safe once the hero and heroine hook up. Before they are intimate they knew each other
In this one I completely loved the hero and how hard he chased and did everything to prove his love. It's also a major who dunnit mystery. Lots of suspense and lots of pushing away and annoying behavior by the heroine. I simply couldn't stop reading though because Maddox was so awesome.
An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review
She fit with me. Or I crowded around her. I never knew the answer to that.
Bad Boy's Revenge is my second Sosie Frost book. I'm a fan of romantic suspense and this book did not disappoint! Love, betrayal, loss, and heartache can all be found in this book. I wasn't sure where it would lead or who the bad guy was and I absolutely love it when I can be surprised by an author's creativity. Sosie Frost surprised me! I thought I knew what was happening, but I didn't have a clue.
Andrew Maddox is the town bad-boy. Every town has one, right? Weelllll, Maddox is that guy. Josie is the good-girl shop owner who loves to bake. Gotta have a good-girl too, right?
Tropes over.
I believe the following, taken straight from the book, best describes Maddox, If fire came to life, it'd take the form of Andrew Maddox. Someone violent when uncontrolled, beautiful when tamed, and unpredictable and strong, even as the world attempted to extinguish it."
He is beautiful. He is strong. And he wants his revenge. He lost a year of his life when he was found guilty of a crime he didn't commit. He knows two things: he didn't start the fire (cue catchy 80s song by Billy Joel) and he wants Josie back.
As soon as he's released from prison, he goes straight to Josie. She knows he didn't start the fire (I can't stop using this line now) and she's ready to prove his innocence and put away the real arsonist. But first, Maddox. She has to protect him at all costs. What she can't seem to do is stay away from him.
He smiled. A look of vindication didn't belong in the bedroom. Good thing he pinned me to the hallway wall.
Yep. Commence the dirty, hot sex. There's plenty of it. And trust me when I say that Maddox doesn't do sweet. He even mentions it. Josie mentions it. So, the sex is dirty and it's all consuming and...yeah. Back to the book. *fans self*
Maddox knew he should stay away, Josie wanted him to stay away, but it just wasn't going to happen.
I had nothing to offer her. Hell, I was nothing. The only thing I promised her was a night of animalistic fucking, and I did my only deed well. But I wasn't looking to win her back. I only wanted to prove she hand't made a shitty mistake falling for me in the first place.
And when Josie continued to push him away and the skeezy mayor tried to pull her toward him (Gross. Thankyouverymuch.) Maddox started to crumble a bit on the inside, ...part of my mind shredded itself. It was forged together now, glued with testosterone and stitched with adrenaline.
So, let's recap: bad-boy, good-girl, hot sex, creepy mayor, crooked town, and all of this is located in Saint Christie--which gave me a distinct Stars Hollow feel, only corrupt. Did I mention this town is also a bit crazy? Trust me when I say you'll be laughing! The dogs! Oh my goodness, the dogs and their owners! Most of the townsfolk were two cats short of a hoarders' documentary
Sosie Frost, thank you for another awesome book. I look forward to all you do.
Eh. Not sure if I like or dislike this book because while the plot is clichè, I was still curious enough to finish it. So there's that. The hero isn't much of a bad boy. He's actually a good man but seriously misunderstood. I like him but the heroine? Not so much.
There's too many things that bothered me and one of it is how the author described Josie's physical appearance. I don't know if it's just me but I find it creepy how POC / black women are always compared to food. I mean, Honey sugar scented body? Skin like brown sugar? Tofee-colored skin? Yes. We get it. She's a black woman. How many times do you have to emphasize that?
Now this whole thing about both characters wanting to have a baby. Now, I get the reason why they wanted a baby so bad. But srsly, they're both in the middle of a shit-storm. Why would you want to bring a baby in the middle of it? And don't get me started on their financial issues. What with Josie's grandfather and his expensive care. And Maddox doesn't even have a job! Like how irresponsible can you be?!
Okay spoiler alert but I did not understand Josie's reasoning to having put Maddox in jail. It's the stupidest thing ever. She could have been honest from the very beginning. I felt bad for Maddox. She's lucky he loves her so much because I would have left her then and there.
First off, the chemistry and heat between Josie and Maddox was off the charts awesomeness. Sweet, naïve Josie fell hard for Maddox, criminal background and cracked-out family history and all. Maddox, on the other hand, feels something towards Josie that is more obsession than romantic love. I felt like the author borrowed some of Maddox's alpha, territorial, caveman, knuckle-dragging tendencies from another Maddox in another lifetime. *cough*Beautiful Disaster*cough*
N-n-n-nerp. Go right ahead.
I'm all for "inspired by" works as long as they do it properly. In fact, if it wasn't for Walt Disney's predilections towards borrowing other authors' creative works for their movies, I don't think they would even be in business.
But, I digress.
I really cannot pin point why I liked this story. The author did a great job in creating a history between the Josie and Maddox that felt organic and less "this-is-what-happened-to-them-because-I-am-writing-it." The storyline itself is not terribly exciting but I found myself turning the pages nonetheless. I think I'm just happy to see an author that can string words together that makes some sense in my own head.
Plus, the author did a really, really GRRREAT job with the sex scenes.
I mean really, really, really good.
Unfortunately, there were times when I felt that Maddox's behavior had similarities to a three year old having a bad day, but I forgave him because (of)... a) He did go to jail for something he didn't do b) His age c) The knuckle-dragging works on him d) He's really hot but aren't they all?
I also liked that the characters had real struggles along with the fictional ones. Money was an issue throughout the book. I could read a good billionaire story any day of the week and be happy with it at the end. Unfortunately, my brain won't shut the f*ck up sometimes and interrupts my book haze with a "Hey, would they be this happy if they couldn't jet to Paris tomorrow for no reason at all?"
So, all in all, really happy with the read. The villains are a little ridiculous but that is more of an afterthought…when the book is finished. During the book, I really dug how all those villainous characters worked to keep the two apart and what they had to overcome to be together in the end.
Writing: Great Characters: Mesa-mesa Recommend: Sure! I was entertained for a few hours. After all, isn't this why we read these things in the first place?
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first read from this author and most definitely won't be my last. Well-written with an great plot-line and characters you can empathize with, Bad Boy's Revenge has everything a reader wants in a book... heartbreak, drama, angst, secrets, lies, mystery, suspense, ridiculously hot love scenes, second chances, love, and so much more.
I liked the story but the heroine...Josie ... I found rather weak at times. I understood the game she was trying to play but it often left her coming off as less than deserving of a man so devoted to her. That said, it's still an entertaining read by the author, whose books I've come to really enjoy.
To start off - Fantastic cover! Picture, color, font, everything about is phenomenal!
This book is really two-in-one. Bad Boy's Revenge and Bad Boy's Baby (I have previously read BBB and LOVED it). They are each standalone stories involving completely different characters in completely different situations.
This review is for the titled story - Bad Boy's Revenge. The things I loved... ➖Great small town feel. The author did a great job of portraying the small town and residents of it. She was spot on in creating comical situations with the residents. I really enjoyed each occurance in the book. ➖No Insta love here. I liked that this book did not contain an insta love story. It was refreshing that the H & h already knew each other in this story. ➖There is no cheating. ➖There is a HEA.
Some of the things that I didn't love... ➖There was A LOT of back and forth between the H & h. It really took away from the story because there was so much of it. " I can protect you! No, you can't! Yes, I will! No, you won't be able too! " That sentiment is found in nearly every chapter. ➖I did not like Josie at all. I felt she treated Maddox awful throughout the entire book. She punished him for what she felt like was lying on his part, while she was lying just as much, if not more. ➖There seemed to be some unfinished parts in the story. I won't write about them here because I don't want to post spoilers. The ending seemed rushed and abrupt.
Overall, I'm right in the middle for Bad Boy's Revenge. I think this was just a one off for me & I will definitely read more books by this author.
My Review of Bad Boy’s Revenge by Sosie Frost My Rating 3.5 Stars There is nothing like a good girl for a bad boy, and that’s just what we get this story. There is intensity amongst the characters, and a great deal of sexual tension. I enjoyed this story. The fast paced stories have some take your breath away sexy scenes. Maddox and Josie, are quite the pair. I did have some moments in the story where I wasn’t a fan of Josie and how she came off as lessor than she was. Even still this was a great read, I always look forward to Sosie’s stories. **Received an ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review** **Reviewed for Hellmouth’s Bookblog & Reviews**
I loved the first sex scene, it was super HOT. However, the story was boring. Everyone in the town hated the H and warned the h away from him. The H couldn't find a job and had a sister that was a drug addicted prostitute. The h lost her business and had to care for a sick grandparent. There just seemed to be bad news at every turn. I lost interest pretty quickly.
Okay the premise appeared good on this book but the writing made me unable to grasp the story. The main characters wwere not even likeable to me and I really wanted to jump in the book and shake the heroine and hopefully that way she would get some sense.
Suzie Frost is a great writer but this specific book was my least favorite other series specifically because of the fact that Josie was very bipolar with her decision like she didn’t know whether or not she wanted to be with Maddox. The whole book and it was kind of getting on my nerves also she begins to annoy me more as this book goes along, because she loses sight of like her love for Maddox, instead of seeing that, he was there for her the whole time she was kind of using that as an excuse to not be with him, because he was so possessive with her, she wanted to let him go.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It's always amazing how people feel they don't deserve love of any kind but it is still given. Maddox (Andrew) came from nothing but held on to the only person who loved him unconditionally. Josie loved Maddox but thought keeping things from him would save him. I laughed, cried and screamed. Ms. Frost, you are awesome.
I didn't care too much for this one. I was zipping through this author's backlist and this one put the brakes on for me. I might need to come back to her after this one. The premise of story wasn't bad. Neither was the writing. But everything played out was kind of silly and convoluted and a lot of it didn't make much sense. Some of the characters were just over the top.
I received this for an honest review. This is the first book I have read of Sosie Frost. Most times when reading a book I feel sorry for the female character in the book, but not in this story. I felt sorry for the pain and injustice that Maddox went through.
Andrew Maddox was a lot of things. He was a bad boy in every way possible. He had done a lot of wrong and a lot of things that could of landing him in jail or prison. When he met Josie Davis it made him want to be a better man. That came coming down the night he was arrested and sent away for setting fire to Josie and her grandfather’s candy shop. See though Maddox was a lot of things he was not an arsonist.
Josie knew one thing and that was Maddox was innocent. She wanted to find the person responsible and bring them to justice. She wanted to clear Maddox name. Josie had a dark secret and though I understand her dark secret I am not certain how I feel about it.
Saint Christie was a small town. It seemed to be run by one bully, Nolan Rhys the mayor. Josie felt that Nolan was responsible for the fire. She just needed to prove it. As investigation went on she will find there are other people to suspect as well.
Maddox wanted to keep Josie safe. He felt the person that started the fire would be after to hurt her again. He was out of prison and was going to do everything in his power to do just that. He also wanted to start a family with her. He wanted a family and he wanted with the woman he loved.
There is so many things stacked up against Maddox. Life just is not fair for him. Seems like life has never been fair to him or his sister. For such a small town it had so much drama and secrets. Leave it to Josie and Maddox to start busting some of those secrets wide open. Can Maddox and Josie get the happy ending they deserve? Can Josie survive the truth once it is comes out?
This is an intense interracial romance between a bad boy and a good girl. And the story has it all to whet your appetite –Because of everything that happens in this story, there is your angst and heartbreak, revenge and redemption --then you have secrets and lies, mystery and suspense…and my favorite –super hot love scenes and 2nd chance at love.. The feelings that the main characters go thru will keep you on reading from page 1 until the very end. Maddox is known to all as the town’s bad boy; who the town doesn’t really like because he is tattooed which automatically means he is “bad”. This town bad boy saved Josie, the town’s candy princess and his girlfriend. Only thing is, the town is convinced *HE* set fire to Josie and her grandfather’s candy shop and he ends up being taken from Josie and locked away from her for a year. One year later , he returns to Josie, determined to rebuild his life with her and to redeem their relationship and seek revenge for those who removed him from his love’s life when she needed him most. Josie doesn’t want him to do anything like this, like seek revenge. She wants him to just be with her and let sleeping dogs lie. You can tell by reading the story that Josie wants revenge too but not at the expense of losing Maddox all over again. Now Maddox wants something from Josie, something that will set his alphaness to rights. What happens will keep you on your toes. Maddox has a way of making things happen and getting answers; while Josie has a way of making Maddox see her point of view. These two are tailor made for each other. I love how the author wrote this fantastic romance and I cannot wait to see what is next up from her,
My rating: 4.5 stars ****
*A gifted copy was provided by the author for my honest review*
Sosie Frost is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors when it comes to bad boy romance. Why? Well, because her writing style is imbued with flaming passion and her couples are so insanely in love that their minds burst with the potency of their feelings. And those steamy scenes are just the best source of heat in the middle of winter!
This story starts with an arson, a bakery, a girl with a mission and a man right out of prison. Intense, right? The intensity only grows exponentially. I haven't read many interracial romances but this one is rich with passion and wit.
Maddox is a fierce bad boy who comes from a broken family and has only known a life of crime until he met Josie. Now, he's hell-bent on revenge. On the other hand, Josie is an expert on sweets but is now surrounded by extortion and lies. She's a strong-willed woman who's fighting against injustice and her own feelings for the wrong man.
The dynamics between those two are hot-tempered, fiery and full of regrets, secrets, impossible choices and forbidden plans for the future. I really liked the suspense around the culprit of the arson. Botch characters try to solve the mystery and it drives them crazy while playing a tug-of-war with their relationship. The tension was palpable with so much doubt and danger. This little town is plagued with corruption, threats and prejudice.
I loved the whole story, it's a dramatic romance with passionate characters and a suspenseful plot that includes crime, action, blackmail, secrets and a lot of love that can be both sweet and hard. Totally recommend it.
I received this book as an arc, but love this author. So I was very excited to read. It starts with Josie (main character) is trying to recover from her Bakery and home burning down. Andrew Maddox (our hero) saved her from the blaze, but is was accused of the arson. Josie is trying to prove who started the fire, and fully believes Mayor Rhys did it. The scummy Mayor wants Josie and the spot of land her bake shop was situated. Maddox shows up after a year in jail. He came for her. She doesn't think it's a good idea because she feels she is close to figuring out who the real arsonist is. Maddox is determined to protect her, and find the man who separated them. He also wants her carrying his baby, and the happily ever after. Josie isn't too sure about any of that. The town has no crime seemingly except the crimes committed by Maddox.
Now, Maddox needs a job, but in a small town a convict isn't going to have much luck. The Mayor though has some 'thug' work for him, but he's supposed to stay away from Josie. Don't see that going down... Josie is trying to protect Maddox. Then of course the heart breaking part that makes you scream No!!! The whole town seems corrupt.
This book is actually really funny, and hot hot hot. Heart breaking. Of course we get the HEA. All in all a very good read.
Maddox is known as the town's only tattooed bad boy. Everyone stays away from him, except Josie, the town's sweetheart and the mocha - colored love of his life, who accepted him with her heart and body. When a fire burned Josie's candy shop business to the ground, Maddox was charged with Arson and he was forcefully separated from her. One year later , he returns to redeem her , rebuild his life her , and seek revenge . Josie doesn't want him to put the law into his hands. She wants justice for everything she lost too. But she didn't want to lose Maddox again.
Bad Boy's Revenge is an exciting small town interracial romantic suspense novel. I loved how the story developed from start to finish. I was mentally itching to know who the real culprit was, I was literally hooked. And the against all odds theme added to the plot was sweet. And of course , I love happy endings , so this book was a winner for me!
And there's a sweeter treat! Bad Boy's Baby ( an entirely separate book which I devoured and floved) had been added as a bonus! So this is practically 2 books !
N.B. An ARC was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review .
Another book where I'm in danger of injuring a muscle from all the eye-rolling. Story wise it's not all that bad, but the writing! Just because Josie Davis is a confectioner doesn't mean she has to speak in only food metaphors. The reader will have to endure such lines as I compared his eyes to my favorite dark chocolate brownie recipe ... I was always a few chocolate chips short of a functional cookie ... Lies crumbled in my mouth like dry peanut butter. Even when Andrew Maddox gets his turn to be the narrator he's no better. In one chapter alone he compares Josie to a cookie, a scoop of ice cream, and a Pixie Stix.
I'm giving the book three stars because at least there is a story going on. (Also because, compared to the other books in this genre I've been reading this month, Revenge would be my top pick.)
Josie's family business is burned down by a questionable fire which also badly injures her grandfather. Her bad boy boyfriend, Maddox, is framed for arson and sent to jail for a year. Now he's back and the two of them must work together to find the truth and fight against the evil Mayor McCheese.
Chocolate makes everything better! Wow! I want my own dessert shop.
I LOVE this book so much! It's sexy, hot and dark as sin, but it's fun to read. Suspenseful! Andrew Maddox showed a different version of his character being the small town's bad boy! Struggling from all his demons from his past, but he keeps trying...he is willing to change for good, stay out of trouble and to protect the love of his life, Josie. Nothing mattered but Josie. I think he's sweet. I feel bad for the Maddox siblings because the town people judged them from their past and never gave them the chance! Worst crimes happens in small town like Saint Christie when both the Mayor and the Police Chief Officer are wicked and crooks! Love Josie's character too, she's fun, loving, strong and protective of the people she loves.
"This was what happened when people were denied desserts. Chocolate made everyone happy - cookies, cakes, ice creams, candies. Give a person a sweet in both hands and they couldn't hold a weapon. My new motto. World peace and spun sugar"
FIVE STARS for this book! I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange of an fair and honest review. Bad Boy's revenge is the story of Josie and Maddox. Josie thought she was in love with Maddox and maybe one day would marry him. But her family had other ideas. Maddox was from the wrong side of the tracks and then something horrible happened to Josie. Can't tell you what though you have to read it!! Maddox is in trouble and the town wants to make sure that Josie doesn't let Maddox back into her life. But Maddox knows there is more to the story but Maddox needs proof and he also needs Josie in more ways than one. Josie needs to find out the truth about Maddox but is it safe for Josie to dig into what has happened to her. Maddox wants Josie back and he wants to protect her. But Josie doesn't know if she can trust him or not. So will Josie and Maddox be able to work together and solve this problem that is keeping them apart or will the truth be too much for Josie to handle which will keep her from being able to have any kind of a relationship with Maddox. This book has a lot of twist and turns in the plot and always keeps you guessing and waiting for more. This book will surprise you at every turn.
Does anybody write bad boys like Sosie Frost and Kelley Harvey? This one is Sosie's turn and man does she blow me away again! This is the story of Maddox, tattooed bad boy hell bent on revenge for being wrongly convicted of a small town arson at his girlfriend's candy shop and that is after he saved her life in the fire. Josie is sure that Maddox didn't set the fire, but that means while he is in prison whoever set the fire is still out there. So she has to try to protect herself and her grandfather while investigating who really did start the fire. When Maddox knocks on her door one year later after being let out of jail, she is shocked. She can't keep him safe if he is a free man. All Maddox wants is revenge, marriage to Josie, and their dream of starting a family. Can these two get back together and make it work while trying to figure out who the real arsonist is before it is too late? This book might also contain Bad Boy's Baby which I reviewed on it's release if you want to check out that review too.
This was an enjoyable read. The first book has Maddox and Josie trying to pick up their shattered lives. He was convicted of burning down her families bakery. But now he is back and fighting for the woman he loves. But the danger is still there in this corrupt small town. They have their ups and downs and nearly get killed but overall all is good. The second book has Jack and Leah. He is a pro football player known for getting into trouble. While she is his publicist. He is up to his neck in trouble and decides that he would tell the league that they were secretly dating to save his ass. Leah is stunned by this announcement and reluctantly decided to go along with the sham. Leah had her life all mapped out. Married, baby, house and job all by a certain age and time line. Now however with Jack she plans are tossed to the wind. It is a full time job trying to keep him out of trouble. But bow he wants her and much more. It's fun to read how a playboy troublemaker actually cleans up and becomes a good guy. Fun books!
Bad Boy's Revenge By Sosie Frost I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.I loved this book great had one hell of a twist. If you love hot, sexy suspenseful reads then this is the book for you!Josie and Maddox had there life all planned out until,Josie's family bakery and candy shop burned down.Maddox is know as the bad boy and went to jail for a fire he didn't set.Maddox returns from prison and is determined to rebuild his life with Josie and redeem their relationship.Maddox wants to find out who set fire and seek revenge. Josie doesn't want Maddox to take seek revenge on who set the fire and sent him to jail. Josie will do anything trying to protect Maddox now.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A...
I received this book as an ARC so that I could give me honest opinion, and Andrew Maddox was just wow. I was hooked from the beginning of the book. Josie was so awesome and strong trying to protect the person she loved and to solve the mystery on her own, but Maddox never left her alone. Living in a small town must be very hard, but they got through it.
You will definitely not be disappointed by this book, and I'm sure that you are going to love Maddox and Josie just as much as I did. The book keeps you on your toes, you think you know what's happening but you have no idea.
This book will show you why it's not a good thing to keep secrets, in the end people find out the truth and sometimes you hurt the one's you love the most.
Andrew was in love with Josie. They had plans to make a life and family together. But life didn't have it in the cards just yet. Yes he was a bad boy with a reputation and people thought he was a lost cause. But can anyone truly say they haven't done one thing or another that they regret one day. Bad decisions are made by us all. Josie is a beautiful women with a heart and mind set on proving her love , their love is strong. But someone is out to hurt her. They burned her family's candy store and now Andrew is being blamed for it. Josie goes out to prove he is innocent and will stop at nothing. I got to say the way they both go to extremes to prove their love and faith in each other is seriously amazing. Touches the heart. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, and I totally recommend it to all those who believe to follow your heart.
... Meh... I'm sad to say that while I enjoyed 'Bad Boy's Baby', 'Bad Boy's Revenge' just didn't quite do it for me. Where 'Bad Boy's Baby' had some issues, it felt like 'Bad Boy's Revenge' latched on to those issues and magnified them. Certain points like the H&h being a mixed race couple were pointed out in almost every chapter, also there was the fact that NO ONE believed in Maddox. How he ended up in jail the first time was shockingly stupid, and who really set the fire was another shocker though it had crossed my mind at one point. Over all instead of enjoying this book I rather wanted to bitch slap just about everyone in it the whole time I was reading. Had I been less annoyed with it I might have thought it a wonderful book based off of a snowball of mishaps and misfortunes. 2 stars.
What a thrilling read. This story is not like other books by this author. I was so excited to read this suspense/romance, and I was treated to an epic drama. I loved the twists in the plot, where the clues to revealing the possible villain kept deviating from each suspect at each turn of the page. The main characters were easy to like, and the other sinister characters, while despised, make this story even better. I am so thankful to receive this as an ARC for an honest review. I can honestly tell you that it would seriously be beneficial to buy this book. This book is well worth reading and would provide an incredibly drama packed, which will leave you eager to get to the end where all will be revealed.
