Where there's smoke... Arson investigator Kade Decker had his hands full with four suspicious fires and no leads. Complicating matters was crime-scene psychologist Savannah Dawson's appearance at each investigation - and the red-hot attraction that raged between them.
There's smoldering fire And when it became clear that the same person responsible for setting the terrifying blazes had begun to target Savannah, honor demanded Kade offer his protection. But as danger around them fueled their desire, a burning question remained: Would the combustible passion between them be extinguished by the madman on their trail?
Excellent book! The psychic elements of this story set it at an entirely new level. I really enjoyed the connection among the pyromaniac, the doctor who was treating him and the romantic lead.
Even better was the cunning twist at the end, when the reader discovers the perpetrator is not the individual you had in mind. Compelling, thought-provoking and a little worrisome, this book was a real page turner. I found myself peering out into the night, wondering, considering how all of this might have been possible. This is the mark of a truly great novel.
This was a very romantic conceptualization of the classic psychic and the cop story and it worked for me. I thought the hero and heroine were a good match for each other and their flaws made them human. I slight surprise in the ending was good and a pretty exciting finish even better.
