Natsuo’s romantic mess seems to get more complicated. His relationship with Momo becomes platonic after he learns more about her and his other relationship with his stepsister continues to be obtuse. Natsuo unexpectedly joins the school’s literature club where he deals with a cocky sensei and a girl who makes his love life more crazy. The club goes on a camping trip and there’s plenty of surprises. B+ (83%/Very Good)
The beginning of the book started to touch on some serious subject matter and showed some genuine heart. Then it returned to its soap opera elements. This was still an entertaining read. Rui is dealing with her emotions and that was the best part of this volume.
Domestic na kanojo is the most philosophical manga and the story is very complex. This refers to the Nietzschean philosophy to "embrace suffering", the author of this manga is a genius, I really need to give highest appreciation to Kei Sasuga, this is masterpiece. I believe not everyone can understand what is meant by the ending and the story here, but I can say this is the only good ending possible to be happen.
The main character here is supposed to be hina, "love is devotion", this is the highest form of love itself, this is the only manga that can describe true love, and pure love.
"You're ready to suffer and death for someone you love, for their happiness"
This quote about hina in the manga is the total goosebump about hina's true love. The highest form of love, pure love, and I suppose this is what Kei Sasuga want the reader to get:
"she just keeps trying to make you happy until the moment when there is nothing left but love"
I can say this is the best romance manga in history, masterpiece, just few people can understand the story behind it, and the implicit meaning it tries to tell. I can give rating 1000 out of 10
Oh, so, it seems we're moving forward to where the anime is because there is a lot of things that haven't happened. That ending was unexpected. I wonder what tensions it will create.
While not past the Anime it introduces a bunch of new things, including a whole camping arc that was not in the show.
Also, probably because it is outside of the Anime's scope Miu was pretty underwritten. Here Miu and Natsuo do a lot more and have more meaningful interactions. Momo and Miu really add a lot of wrinkles to the story.
The ending cliffhanger is also completely different. I wonder how it will change the stuff I know is coming in the future for Hina and Natsuo?
I keep talking about the Anime but it seems like we are closing in on going beyond it so I feel like I need to get these points out now. For example, I think it is interesting how the manga is written by a woman, still aiming to be salacious and bawdy but, it is much more thoughtful about dispensing with actual nudity and withholds it when it would make sense for the scene but be narratively weird or inappropriate. While the Anime, which has a more masculine production, will apply nudity ANYTIME IT CAN.
