I don't usually read erotic shorts like this, but now that the secret is officially out, I can tell you why I read Tantalus -- how could I possibly resist the grittier side of K.C. Wells. Don't expect contract negotiations between a caring Dom and eager sub here! This is two horny men getting their kink on.

This sequel to ‘Summer Heat’ is as scorching hot, satisfyingly naughty, and tantalizingly rough as the first book. Horny neighbors Pete and Damon are at it again, but not in the way Damon may have expected when he ended the first story with a question – “Same time next week?” It is a week later, but this time, Damon is not the one in control.
Damon is the one telling this story, and finding out exactly what payback feels like is both pleasurable and infuriatingly annoying. Damon likes to be in control and taking whatever Pete is willing to give drives him up the wall. Now at the other end of the teasing, several toys Pete manages to include in his erotic torture, and the verbal taunts, Damon discovers his body may like it, but in his mind, he is busy planning revenge. Revenge for the revenge? It made me smile. But I have no doubt that whatever Damon comes up with will be glorious for both of them. Especially considering the statement Pete makes at the end. Wow!
If you prefer your men to know what they want, if you’re interested in finding out what might be in a dominant guy’s head when he is “forced” to submit, and if you’re looking for a read that is as entertaining as it is erotic and hot, then you will probably enjoy this short story.

Summer Heat was hot but After, the next episode featuring Damon and Pete, is nothing short of scorching. This is not a polite and fluffy romance story. Not. At. All. Damon wakes to find himself cuffed to the bedposts in his sexy next door neighbour's bedroom. Pete found Damon passed out drunk on his bed so decided to take full advantage telling Damon, "Payback's a bitch!" Pete torments and teases until Damon can do nothing but with and moan and beg. Pete takes Damon in every which way, at times harsh and at times excruciatingly slow. This story from Tantalus is intense, raw, passionate, sexy and fierce. Roles are reversed and boundaries stretched (quite literally). This set my pulse racing and I am very, very keen to see what happens next. Tantalus is a great new addition to my favourite MM authors list.

Nel primo racconto della serie “Giocare col fuoco” di Tantalus, Damon e Pete mi hanno molto colpita, ma leggendo questo secondo breve episodio della loro “conoscenza” sono rimasta decisamente sorpresa. Non mi sarei mai aspettata di ritrovare Damon legato al letto con Pete che mette in atto tutte le sue fantasie più nascoste.
Anche questa volta, come nel primo racconto, non ci viene descritto altro che un singolo incontro sessuale tra questi due uomini dai gusti molto particolari, ma in realtà durante la lettura ci viene detto molto di più. In “Calore estivo” abbiamo scoperto i più segreti desideri di Pete, mentre in “After” potremo finalmente conoscere quei pensieri nascosti che Damon non avrebbe il coraggio di confessare neanche a se stesso.
Pete si “vendica” per il trattamento subito nell'incontro della settimana precedente, ma alla fine di vendetta ce n'è ben poca. Stavolta è Pete ad avere il controllo e devo dire che il cambio di ruolo è gestito magistralmente dall'autrice, e quello che all'inizio viene vissuto da Damon come una vendetta si rivela essere qualcosa di molto più profondo.
Tantalus non è altro che uno pseudonimo della nota autrice di romanzi M/M K.C. Wells e devo dire che nella sua versione hot non delude assolutamente. Consiglio questo breve racconto a chiunque ami il BDSM e abbia voglia di leggere una storia veramente intrigante.

After is at least as hot and tantalising as its prequel, Summer Heat. In the first book Pete was in for a few exciting surprises. This time it is Damon who finds himself in a position he never expected to end up in and having a hard time getting his head around events and his reactions to them.
For Damon payback comes when he least expects it and, as the blurb says, he discovers it’s a bitch. I’ve got a feeling it will be a different story for Pete when his turn comes around again. For me that moment can’t come soon enough.
There’s not a lot more I can say about the story. I want to say you need to read it, but while that is true, it wouldn’t be quite right. Let’s leave it at this being a story you need to experience. This series is unapologetically hot and sexy. This is eroticism at its best; no holds barred kinky times for those who enjoy such a thing.

Fantastico! Se il primo libro della serie mi aveva sorpresa molto con il suo erotismo questo mi ha stregata! Finalmente iniziamo ad intravedere qualcosa di più della relazione tra Damon e Pete. Se nel primo libro il loro legame era sembrato un po' di dubbio gusto, con un Pete "vittima" dei desideri oscuri di Damon, legato dopo la perdita di una scommessa persa e quasi costretto a sottomettersi per ripagare il suo debito, qui possiamo vedere il rovescio della medaglia. Pete non è il povero agnello sacrificale, una vittima degli eventi bensì un uomo che sa quello che vuole e in questo caso desidera solo una cosa: vendicarsi per il "torto" subito. Dopo aver attirato con l'inganno Damon ad una festa approfitta dello stato di ebbrezza del partner per legarlo al suo letto e da lì... iniziare una sensualissima ed erotica tortura per dare al bel dominatore una lezione con i fiocchi.
Il racconto è mooolto più caldo del precedente e possiamo goderci le interazioni tra i due. Se nel primo erano state molto rare e i due era parsi un po' come stereotipi, il crudele dominatore approfittatore e il povero sub preso con l'inganno qui possiamo vedere una caratterizzazione di entrambi, una complicità che va oltre il semplice sesso. I due uomini seppur stuzzicandosi provano affetto uno per l'altro e si stuzzicano a vicenda ad ogni occasione per alimentare quel fuoco che li consuma da tempo. Entrambi si fidano uno dell'altro arrivando a lasciarsi andare senza paura nelle mani del compagno. Una relazione quindi nata dal sesso e dall'amicizia che sembra destinata ad evolversi in qualcosa di più profondo. Possiamo intravedere il lato più umano di entrambi, un Pete non così bravo ragazzo come ci era parso, non il verginello portato fuori dalla retta ma un uomo sensuale e capace di esprimere i propri desideri senza timore delle conseguenza e un Damon che sembra nascondere un'anima ferita e che si nasconde dietro la lingua lunga e il sarcasmo. Un'evoluzione non solo sensuale ed eccitante ma anche molto umana e interessante.

Another crazy hot short story with Pete and Damon! This time the tables are turned and Pete is in control. He takes full advantage of having Damon at his mercy and the sex is smoking hot. Pete better be prepared for the consequences and I can't wait to see what happens next in this enticing series.

Ci sono pagine che mi hanno fatto sorridere per la sfrontatezza di Pete e mi è piaciuto vederlo al comando. Questo secondo libro svela un po’ di più il carattere dei due personaggi e dei desideri di Damon.
