Emily's life changes forever when a dark master makes her a vampire. He claims she's the reincarnation of his first love, found and lost four times in eight hundred years. She thinks he's crazy, until the dreams of other lives begin, with two things in common—Nicholas and tragic endings. As she copes with her new state as a vampire under his jaded tutelage, Emily wonders how this time can be any different—especially when Nicholas' sire and sworn enemy appears to wreak havoc on both of them.
Kit Fawkes is the pen name USA Today bestselling author Kit Tunstall uses when writing steamy paranormal (especially shifter) romances. It's simply a way to separate the myriad types of stories she writes so readers know what to expect with each "author."
I enjoyed the transition between times and events of the story. I liked the dialogue was speaking in the present during modern time, and the pre-reincarnation period. The storyline was meaningful with great dramatic and historical elements.
Love this book! Combination of romance, sex, action and "Science of Vampires 101"
Nicholas isn’t a good guy. He's a powerful, alluring vampire who wants Emily. He isn’t sugar coated, but he isn’t taken to an irredeemable extreme, either. He’s more than a bad guy who takes the sweet young heroine for his own nefarious purposes.
Everything isn’t revealed at once. The story is rolled out nice and slow, giving Emily and Nicholas the room to develop as individuals and a couple. Threats loom, and you see the lengths that Nicholas and Emily will go to in order to be together and protect each other.
Well-thought out details take an already good paranormal romance and make it even better. The author goes the extra mile, addressing some of the things that we’ve all wondered about, like the science behind their healing abilities and needing blood, vampire slaying- guns vs. swords, blood types, sunlight and why so many of the vampires, who supposedly have exquisite taste, use red and black color schemes. (My advice to vampires is to try navy; it has the same benefits without being so tacky.)
I think Kit Fawkes had fun writing this book and used books from an alternate universe where vampires exist to use as research material. It’s a mix of “Biology of Vampires 101,” “So You Want to Be A Vampire?” and “One Weird Trick to Hide Your Age from Humans.”
This is a standalone romance, but it leaves room for follow up books about the secondary characters. There are two plot lines at the end that I hope get their own books.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was an interesting read that kept me guessing how things were going to turn out until the end. I liked Emily and Nicholas, and was happy to see them eventually get their HEA. They deserved it after everything they had been through. This wasn't a light read, as there were several sad things about it, such as Nicholas and Emily's history of Nicholas losing and having to find Emily again. Bu it was definitely a good book.
The reason for the four stars instead of five is because there were some unanswered questions at the end that bothered me. I'm hoping that we'll get to see a book about Brannon and see him get his own story and HEA.
I received for an honest review. Nicholas and Emily were amazing. He had to prove to her that they were meant to be. He has lost her so many times, but yet, she continues to come back to him. Even in different forms, it is always her. I hope that Brannon will get his story soon.
Wow! This story is about the deep love between Nicholas and Emily. They are vampires and this tells about all the different reincarnations of their love. It is a unique story but it is very interesting.I definitely recommend it.
I'm trying to figure out if I frickin loved this or if I just had low expectations. I liked this book a lot though! Totally not what I was expecting. It was definitely dark and I don't usually do dark.
