"It was a mesmerizing cozy witch mystery filled with culinary delights, witty animals and powerful spells"
"You can't help but love Jane Summers as a small town sleuth. It's filled with laughter, twists and turns that will have you guessing to the very end. A great series."
Nothing is what it seems in Crystal Cove, especially when you are a witch. When Jane's cousin, Hattie relocates to the island from out west, their entire family is walking on eggshells. Jane's father is certain the council is out to get them, Lizzy couldn't give two hoots as long as she can keep shopping for shoes and Agatha just might have a potion that will come in handy.
But when a murder occurs and their cousin is the one police are investigating, Jane is forced back into sleuthing and using her spells to catch the killer.
Is it part of the council's plan? Are a band of witch hunters trying to lure them out? And will Max discover Jane is a witch before the murderer strikes again?

Another great story. These books just keep getting better. Good characters, wonderful stories, and a nice local. These are so easy to read, and suitable for teens and up!
I really enjoy the Crystal Cove series books. Jane and her sisters Agatha and Lizzy are funny and definitely sisters. Max her boyfriend will sooner or later catch her though....
The place has magic and complicated crime! Private hidden cameras hurt as much as help. But, Jane and her sisters stick together. Unless they're annoying each other! Interesting story, love the preview of the next in series, hooked on these books!
I'm just on a Emma Watts roll. You start one of her books, find out it's a series and just have to find out what she hints about in the current book you have just finished. So, you download The next book in SERIES and find yourself hooked.
This book will keep you reading and the pages turning. There are however spots where it is so slow that you want to tell the author to get on with it. Thankfully these are few and far between and does not detract from the story and characters. A Good Read Everyone!
There is another murder in Crystal Cove. The strongest suspect seems to be Jane's cousin. Jane's dad sees conspiracy behind every situation. Max is capable of investigation without help, but Jane and her sisters want their cousin cleared yesterday. So off they all go, crisscrossing as they labor throughout the suspect list. Who will get credit for solving this murder? What is out in the woods? Why won't Jane's dad talk about his deceased wife?
I started this one because the first book was enjoyable. I was pretty disappointed. There is some character development (Lizzy and Agatha) but again the plot moved too fast. And even though Jane is a witch, it just borders on absurd that she can solve a murder in a day by pretending to be Max. Also, the poor editing was really distracting - the name of Jane's coffee shop changed!
This could be a good series, but the characters are flat and there are a lot of grammatical errors, like sentence fragments. The author needs a good proofreader and needs to work on fleshing out her characters.
Stunning writing including delectable treats, small town gossips, jealousy and murder. Throw in a secret coven of witches and Emma Watts serves us another installment from Crystal Cove.
