Matt glared at Big John. "Her name is Hannah. Best you remember that." His uncle scowled. "Best if you forget it. You just lost one woman, not wise to allow a needy one to get her claws into you." "She's not like that. Nothing like that." Big John walked away. "You don't even know her." His uncle's truth stung. But he was wrong. Matt gazed at the injured woman and her dark hair, soft skin. So pale. "I'll take care of you, Hannah."
Both Matt and Hannah didn’t know the Lord would bless them with love. At one time Matt didn’t think he could find love after his brother fell in love with his mail order bride.
Faith goes a long way. Even though her husband was murdered she kept her faith. He was still reeling about losing his mail order bride to his brother. Great series with a good HEA ending for all
Matt's Story #3 Mail-Order Brides of Black Horse Mesa by Patricia PacJac Carroll
Matt Logan is acting as a deputy to his uncle, Big John Logan, a Texas Ranger while tracking an outlaw gang. They come across an overturned wagon with a dead man and an injured woman. There is something about the woman Logan can't seem to forget. Of course, Big John has a few words of wisdom Matt doesn't want to hear regarding Hannah. Big John had me chuckling from some of his quirky comments. While Hannah recovers from a concussion, she should be grieving for her dead husband...she does, really...but Logan stirred feelings in her she never felt before. What does she do with those feelings? As she continues to recover, she stays at Annie's boarding house and they become fast friends. Some surprise developments in the story cause some suspenseful moments and pleasant surprise ending for certain characters had me smiling. A sweet, fun story.
(I bought this e-book....I also won an e-book copy from the author, (no monetary gain were exchanged), this is my honest review)
