Torn: Part Five

Rate this book
This is book five of an alpha billionaire romance series by USA Today best selling author Sky Corgan.

Piper Gravatt thought she had a perfect life. She had just graduated from college and was about to marry the man of her dreams. Then it all went to hell.

Dark circumstances led to even darker desires, and there was only one way to bury her pain. Her new motto: Never fall in love. Never give yourself over completely.

Life is bleak except for pleasure. And there's only one place that Piper can go to get what she needs to survive. Club Fet, where the men are hot and the acts of lust are unconventional.

Being discrete doesn't always work, though, especially when paths cross in all the wrong places. Powerful men lurk in the shadows and one, in particular, is determined to destroy everything that Piper is.

Torn by Sky Corgan was a great book. Many things havent been going Piper's way as of late. Piper enjoys diving into her dark desires at Club Fet. Little did she know her private life and Club Fet life would cross paths. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Sky Corgan.

This is instalment five of an intriguing story that continues to get better as the tale unfolds. Piper knows that she shouldn’t be giving Holden control; it is not logical, it is wrong, she hates him, yet it feels so right. The mix of pain, pleasure and emotion completely overwhelms her. Holden reflects on his night with Piper; she was a comfort to him, a distraction from his pain, but she is still his enemy. Ann knows that Piper has betrayed her trust by talking to Holden; yet Ann’s revelations about Piper’s own experience, leaves Holden in shock. Thinking she has lost her job, Piper is surprised when Ann asks her to help her sort through her clothes and jewellery, and discovers interesting information, not only about a certain piece of jewellery that belonged to her grandmother, but also about Holden - why he is so guarded and not very trusting, even though he has a talent for turning weaknesses into strengths. Ann’s only regret is that Holden is not married. Piper is not surprised, considering how controlling he is, but keeps these thoughts to herself. Against his better judgment Holden returns to work; he has to make a decision about whether or not to invest in the pharmaceutical company, but as his mind is distracted, he decides to leave his decision until later. It's Friday night and Club Fet is alive. Holden invites Miranda to do a scene with him in the public play area; but his sub-conscious thoughts turn to Piper. Holden’s eyes scan the crowd; he likes to feel a connection with people, and being watched does something to him. That is until his eyes lock on Pipers; she is looking right at him, her expression one of pure shock, while he is looking at her, with a wicked grin. Another excellent instalment, which is keeping all us readers in suspense as to how the story will progress in the next episode. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this for an honest review. I am loving this series. Each book keeps getting hotter and hotter. This is not a standalone so please read previous books first.

WOW, have so many mix feelings going on in this book. Ann is dying, Holder is hurting because he feels he has lost so much and now he is losing his mom, and Piper is feeling bad for betraying Ann’s trust but feels she done what was right.

Holder is trying to find a way to deal with the thought of his mom dying. Getting drunk does not help. As you know by the last book he ends up at Piper’s house hurting, feeling sorry, and turned on. Piper truly has her hands full and she needs to worry about her little stepbrothers and what they might hear or think.

Ann is preparing for her death, which I find sad. She is thinking about how much her son is going to hurt and how lonely he is going to be. I am truly surprised by now she has not been playing match maker..LOL

My feelings are all over the place on how the book ended. Can’t wait to read book 6.

I received this book for free to give my True and Honest Review

OMG Sky what are you doing to her, how amazing though, yet again you need to keep reading how his treating her....
Holden really is an arse and becomes even more so after he went to Piper's house (@ the end of 4) and gets what he wants and runs away like a weasel during the night without saying goodbye
After he meets up with Annan practically demanding her that he was going to get someone to replace Piper as she couldn't have her as she couldn't be trusted. Though when Ann rings Piper up to come in and he'll her out her clothes, bags, accessories together so she can give the majority to charity and I just felt here the heartache and courage as you can either imagine or know how it'll feel like to sort out the belongings as the person wouldn't need them as she'll be gone soon. But the trust and forgiveness she show's Piper by giving her own mother's wedding necklace which she received instead of a ring, which you can feel your own heart tightening up

Torn5 by Sky Corgan
Designation: Part 5 of a Serial, Not a Standalone, Includes Cliffhanger

So TORN 5 is a 47 page novella that picks up right where part 4 left off. Piper is finally letting Holden in. He comes to her and demands her submission. In the morning he realizes that it was a mistake to come to her and that she is still the enemy and he still wants his mother to fire her. But Ann won’t hear of it and she still has Piper come over to help her clean out her closet to donate a bunch of her things.

Later while Holden is at the club he does a scene with Miranda, but he can’t focus on her and instead keeps thinking about Piper

Another cliffhanger! As much as I love this story, I want more! I am on the edge of my seat to see what happens next between Holden and Piper.

Anticipation Factor: 5 stars
Steam Level: 5 stars
Plot: 4 stars
Cliffhanger: YES

I love this series! The only bad thing about this book is that I knew once I finished it, I would have to wait for the next part, and I did not want to wait. Part 4 ended with after Holden found out that his mother was dying, he got very drunk and showed up at Piper's house. What started out with him sleeping on the floor in her bedroom and then ending up being some really hot, sizzling sex, and then him sneaking out of her house in the morning before Piper woke up. Now what is going to happen the first time that they see each other. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. I am so glad that I did. It is a wonderful series, and each book just keeps getting better

This part of the series had me on a roller coaster ride. One minute I hate Holden and then feeling sorry for him and realizing he may have a heart. And then I am thrown a curve ball and honestly want to throttle him! Piper has guts, a heart and she needs to be stronger around Holden. This is the best of the Torn series so far. I am hungry for #6. Given a free ebook copy for an honest review.

I have read parts 1-6 and all I can say is I love this series! The Characters are in a constant battle with themselves about what they feel emotionally for each other vs. their immense sexual attraction for each other.. I love their back and forth banter and just the way this story flows!!
This series is Sky Corgan at her best.. If you loved Strife and Urges you will love this series too.. Quick and entertaining page turner .. Can't wait for the next part!!

This book has it all... drama, angst, heartache, suspense, and intense sex scenes. Torn is raw, edgy, and unpredictable. The author pulls you into the story and you have no choice but to go along for the ride. Can't wait to read more.

Part Five

Well Holden has proven to be a real piece of work. I am sure he is caring, he just has a weird way of showing it. At this point I do not think that Holden realises he has feelings for Piper. From the ending of this episode, I know what my feelings toward him would be.

Holden is such an @ssh!! I'm having the hardest time trying to connect with his character. I mean the story is still leaning towards sad but I'm still hopeful.

Piper Gravatt's life has just been turned upside down. Her mother is gone and now she has had to come back to take care of her two step-brothers as there is no one left for them. Piper holds so much resentment towards them as now she needs to start over. She is given a job by Ann Longworth to help her out whenever she needs someone around the house and to take her to appointments.

Luckily Piper has found an escape at the local BDSM, Club Fet, where she first meets him.

Holden is not the man you think he is. Underneath his cool exterior is a man bent on control and getting what he wants and right now he has one goal - to get rid of Piper. How far will Holden go to get what he wants?

Will Piper be able to save herself or will she lose everything once she realizes what is at stake?

This was such a good book and right from the beginning I bonded to Piper and her story.

Piper was such a great character as she was at such odds with herself and I found she grew up so much in this book due to her talks with Ann. Piper had so many resentments towards her brothers at the beginning of the book and I really understood why. Yet as Piper and Earl began to communicate more the two formed a strong bond and I loved reading the change.

I also really liked the relationship between Ann and Piper. Ann really needed an independent friend and as the book goes on you understand why. I loved that Piper would never take advantage of Ann, no matter what she was accused of.

I hated Holden through almost the entire book. He was such a controlling ass and I honestly was so shocked at the things that he did to Piper. I couldn't believe how far he went to try and get her to submit to what he wanted. Every time I thought he was changing he would do something that would just show how much of a jerk he really was. I did understand why he was afraid to let anyone get close to him as he was losing everyone.

I wasn't surprised by the ending and I was happy with the ways things turned out as it showed the growth with the characters. Although I definitely would have liked a little more at the end about the brothers and how they were doing!- Rebecca
