TO: Grammie Simms FROM: Eliza Ann Re.: My mysterious stranger
Gram,
Hawaii is even more beautiful than I imagined! I thank my lucky stars the medical conference is in paradise this year.? This tropical air is making me rethink my vow to never love again. I know you'll be happy to hear I've met someone. Handsome Daniel Morgan has hula-ed into my life and shows no signs of leaving. He has a knack for popping up out of nowhere and vanishing just as quickly, like magic. But you know what? There's something about the moonlit nights that is starting to make me believe in destiny. Or maybe it's Daniel's heart-fluttering kisses that are changing my mind....
While vacationing in Hawaii some years back, hero Daniel disrespected the island spirits and has been cursed to live in a backyard tiki statue. Years later, he still hasn't broken free of his curse... Until suddenly one day he is set free and he finds himself on a beach with a lovely lady. Heroine Ellie is visiting her brother in Hawaii. Before she left for her trip, her Grammie Simms gave her a gift of Plumeria shaped earrings, and Gram's gifts are known to make strange things happen. When Ellie meets Daniel, although she finds him handsome, she also remains cautious of him since he seems to have a knack for coming and going in the blink of an eye. Seems when Ellie puts those earrings on, Daniel is set free from his tiki, and when they're taken off, back he goes. Neither realizes it's the earrings that's doing it though.
This was a really cute fantasy romance. Unique and different. The sporadic comings and goings of Daniel made for some fun moments. Both main characters were likable, along with Ellie's brother, and elderly neighbor Nona whose backyard garden the tiki statue was located in. Beautiful Hawaii provided the perfect setting for this whimsical tale.
Ellie goes to Hawaii for a medical conference and to visit her brother. While in Hawaii she meets a Dr. Named Daniel. Something strange has happened to Daniel and only Ellie can help him. I thought it was boring and unrealistic but an easy read.
