Hybrid #2

Experiment

Rate this book
Escaping from the clutches of a sadistic torturer is only the start of a terrifying ordeal for human/dakaran hybrid Chesara. Hunted through the wilds of Kalzir and the depths of her own mind, hard truths about her own abilities and the people she has always trusted become overwhelming.

Watching the woman he loves, locked within herself is heart-breaking for Connor Temple, particularly with the added guilt that he is as responsible for exploiting her as the rest of humanity. Releasing her from slavery would mean turning his back on his entire way of life, if it were even possible. Resigned to becoming merely her captor again, the return of a man from the grave sparks hope for all three of them.

Contains Reverse Harem scenes m/f/m and some violence. It is intended for a mature audience only.

4 'Connor & Chesara & Tenset' stars

The second book continues right where the first one ended - on the run across the foreign planet. That means we are thrown in the middle of the action. I really liked that up to the point, when everything went down. I hoped that Chesara and Connor would be soon reunited with Tenset, so I was not especially happy when I understand why this part is crucial for the development of the story but it was a little dragging. The second part of the book was much more enjoyable. Chesara was once again her funny and amusing self. I truly missed her jokes in the first part.

As for her boys... I wanted to smack Connor few times. Chesara is an alien, but she's also a woman and women have feelings. His soldier training is no good when he would need some sensible words. Well, he will learn. Eventually. Tenset had some 'I want to smack him' moments too. Being sexy and charming is not everything. It sure helps though. Also, his new pirate look. You would not see me complain.

For the end, I need a little time to drool over Dagus. I liked him in the previous book, but here he was just... what's the word? Delicious. Delightful. Exquisite. All three and then some. Chesara, Connor, and Tenset are perfect as a threesome. But can I have a foursome, pretty please? I'm too demanding, I know. I will just be satisfied with this trio. They are so unlike each other, but so cute together.

Here they were, a naïve, incredibly sexy and talented one of a kind alien hybrid, a huge troll of a man who liked to pretend he didn’t have any feelings and a washed up, one-eyed womanizer who didn’t have a clue about life off a planet he could never go back to.

It's not possible to not like them and I'm very interested in their adventure in the next book. Tenset's evil grin definitely seemed promising.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Very addictive, read it so quickly!
I got very invested in the characters and really started to care about what happened to them. A very good read.

In this second book of the series, Chesara and Connor have to try to heal from physical and mental trauma, try to find a way to escape the federation, and get back with Tenset.

Unfortunately, the federation performs a memory wipe on Chesara so she doesn't even know who Tenest is, or that the federation owns her. Read for yourself to find out what happens.

But I will tell you, prepare for a few intense love scenese, that I personally wanna save for reading later... over and over. Now where is that 3rd book....

Unique story

I'm enjoying these books. The plot is intriguing and there's solid character development. I kind of though the memory wiping was too easy of a fix, but it fit with the storyline and it may pop back up.

I was quite anxious to find out what happens next, and was happy to find the action continues where Book 1 left off. With a few unexpected but happy turns, I am looking forward to finding out how the adventure continues to unfold in the following books.

A fantastic continuation of a unique story! After finishing Discovery I was very excited to start Experiment. I love Chesara and her story! I will admit that I was very turned off that the first sexual encounter was a rape scene and it was almost enough to make me put down the book, that and the fear that Chesara was headed right back to the torturous dungeons she'd just escaped. I hadn't enjoyed reading about the torture at the end of the last book and I was not inclined to continue down that path. Luckily for me I pressed on and I'm glad that I did. I came to understand that the brutality of the beginning of the book was necessary to set the stage for the path that Chesara would take. That moment changed her course entirely, it was the catalyst for everything that came next, and although uncomfortable for me to read I will admit it was necessary to the story as a whole.
This book delved even deeper into the erotic ménage genre, and it was certainly enjoyable, even for a nube like me. As I mentioned in my review of the last book, this is my first foray into this genre of romance and at times I do find the logical side of my mind trying to argue that "Men wouldn't behave this way in reality. Someone would get jealous, someone would try to be dominant." However, because of the "Chesara Effect" as the author has so aptly called it, the men are not only enticed by her alien pheromones but they are also subdued into a happy harem dedicated to her pleasure. The supernatural elements of the story make it possible to suspend disbelief.
While I find myself hoping at this point that Chesara and her men will find a quiet little farm in some hidden part of the galaxy where they can live out their happily, erotically, ever after. I do believe there will be a few bumps in the road to come, since there are at least two more books in this series that I am aware of. Again I am eager to read more and see where this titillating tale will take me.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

First I want to start off saying that his book belongs to a series. I don’t know if any of you remember but I read and reviewed the first book to the Hybird series which was called Discovery. Bonus! We get to see the characters from the first book, I am not sure yet if they will be in every book but I am hoping on it. So I have come along way with these characters. I have seen them break, and I have seen them grow into stronger people. Which makes me hope in the 3rd book we can see and learn more about them.

This is an Alien book, (OMG YES) I love aliens. I love this universe that the author writes as well. They have created it beautifully. But we get glorious three-way in this book! I have to be honest and say this is not the first time I have read about a three-way and I am sure it will not be my last. The chemistry between the 3 are great, I like how there is not much jealousy but buckets full of love. Emma Jaye has a flow to these sex scenes that I admire.

The lovely Chesara has more issues in this book, she is put through a lot and she does come out on the other end. The psych part of this book was pretty good. Emma Jaye’s writing style is unique, she does a great job of painting a beatiful, drama filled and emotional story.

This book is full of drama with the characters fighting against those who would have them trapped and captive. They have risked a lot just to be free from the chains that hold them.

I do like this book, and I love the story and the plot. So my Alien loving friend read this book next, and leave a review or tell your friend about it. I am sure that would bring a smile to this authors face.

Warning:Contains graphic scenes M/F and some violence. Along with talks of rape or intended rape. It is intended for a mature audience only. Some things may be a trigger for certain readers.

This book was the perfect sequel to Discovery. The story began with Chesara and Connor escaping together. Despite learning more about how the Federation was using her, she doesn't blame Connor and the bond between them only gets stronger. When they are almost clear of the danger they are running from, they run into problems. Chesara is taken captive again, and experiences a traumatic event that compromises her role in the Federation. The actions they take finally force Connor to choose between Chesara and his job. I'm not sure how much more I can say without giving spoilers, but this book was very awesome and I loved the happy ending. I could really feel Chesara's pain and felt sorry for her, but I was happy that she had two men who would give their lives to protect her. Additionally, there were some MFM scenes, which were extremely hot. I look forward to reading how the relationship between Chesara and her two men evolves in books to come.

Lusty sci-fi fare to get you going!

This was a very good follow up to Discovery. We find Chesara going through a melt down after being rescued from the planet she had been kidnapped on. As a result of the melt down, the powers that be decide to wipe her mind, back to a time just before she was sent to the planet in question. The only downside to this was the fact that she would forget about her time with Conner Temple, and she would forget about Tender Shamir altogether, but it only meant that she would have to learn to love them again.

The only thing I couldn't get round was all the descriptive sex scenes, I'm not big on erotica, but I didn't let it take away from the story. Again, the author left you with a tantalising taste for the next book in the series, and of course I shall be reading it.

I highly recommend this well written book to both sci-fi and romance nuts.

Aliens, threesomes, and danger. Oh, my! I was looking forward to reading the second installment in this series, having enjoyed the first one. I was not disappointed. Hybrid #2, Experiment is a fast paced adventure with plenty of steamy scenes. We get satisfaction from the demise of some baddies. Chesara has some difficulties that make my heart ache for her. This book is full of three dimensional characters. I think I'm in love with Dagus at this point. I hope we get to see him again. All in all a great read! I look forward to reading the next book in the series sometime soon.

Emma Jaye’s second installment of the Hybrid series is every bit as inventive as the first volume. It nicely resolves some threads left hanging in volume 1 and opens up new lines of narrative and adds new elements of suspense. Most of the novel focuses on the relationship between Chesara and Connor, but Tensit does reappear before the novel’s end. The new characters – villains and allies alike are wonderfully drawn and keep the story moving. I’m looking forward to the next volume.

Note, this is a standalone novel – no nasty cliff-hanger - but it is part of a larger series.

I'm really enjoying this series. This is the second book of Chesara's adventures with her two guys. Chesara is a complex character and it's always interesting to see how she handles the things that happen to her. I liked how the relationships deepen in this one. There are a couple really hot threesome scenes, so if you like that sort of thing you need to get this book. Hoowee! (Fans herself.) It's totally cool how they escape, don't want to give details but it's brilliant. I can't wait to read the third book!

Thoroughly enjoyed. My initial feelings toward Tenset changed by the time we reached the part where we find out what happened to him. This was a great read, very steamy and Connor and Chesara are great characters. There were a few elements I wasn't happy with, but once the story continued I got over it!
I'm looking forward to reading the next installments.

This one gets a little darker, but as usual Emma Jaye does it well. After being separated from Connor, Chesara is attacked and assaulted, which forces her to use her ability to defend herself. Hurting people is against the subliminal conditioning she received at the hands of her captors.
Full of angst, peril and enough sexy men to blow your hat off, another winner for me. On to the next.

Book 2 got better for sure. I grew attached to Chesara-Connor-Tenest relationship. They were intriguing and engaged me in a really good way.
Chesara closed herself from her healing profession, she grew distant. But Connor and then Tenset will try to make her get back to life. Will they manage?
I hope book 3 will be

I struggled to rate this book, off course because I read the first instalment, I was looking forward to reading more and seeing more budding romance transpire between Chesera and Lord Tenset.
I would say, I was not satisfied with the outcome that followed. Lord Tenset was not featured as much in this series as I would have liked. Chesera’s bodyguard Connor though seemed to get a centre stage in this one. While I understood he loved her in his own way, it did nothing for me to consider this book a romance novel. When Lord Tenset finally shared a scene between Chesera, it quickly deteriorated into him wanting to have his way with her and calling it looking after her. Knowing Chesera’s weakness, I struggled to see how what they do with her (Connor and Tenset) can be called love making. In some parts two to three men sharing a woman and not feeling any form of possessiveness and jealousy does not feel like true love to me. I can understand Chesera being an alien not having feelings like humans but Connor and Tenset are referred to as humans so that begs the question why? When I read romance books, I want to feel the gut wrenching, toe curling passion and affection that leaves me wanting more, I didn’t get that here.
That said, the book has been well written and that is why I have given it a three, had it been placed in another genre more appropriate to this style of writing, perhaps I would have been a little more generous with my ratings.
This book was given to me for an honest review.
