Dagus recognised the red-eyed woman as dakaran the moment she walked into the slave pens on Garia where he was about to be sold. What was even more surprising was that she had a voice in her head that told her that Chesara’s was her sister.

However, this was a very different animal to the kind and caring woman he owed a life debt. This sister was the top dog in an environment where only cold, calculating killers survived. Unfortunately she was also his only possible way off Garia, if he could persuade her that he was worth keeping alive.

His mentor Tenset had taught him how to charm the ladies, and to rely on your friends. The problem was, this was no lady, and his only possible allies were a meek former Federation medical Ensign, and two men who had been born and bred to kill. The Ensign looked at him with pity, the bald castrate with indifference and the one called Hal seemed happy to add him to the dinner menu.

Survival appeared to be dependent on doing what he was told, but Dagus had never been particularly good at toeing the line. The only difference was that this time, disobeying a direct order wouldn’t just get him busted back to ensign, it’d cost either him his life.

Contains graphic M/F and ménage scenes plus violence. It is intended for a mature audience only.

I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

I have a lot of mixed feeling about his book, mainly about the character Hal, that character really drove me crazy. At first in the sixth book I loved him, thought he was really charming. Then at the beginning of this book I was kind of not liking him for they way he was acting towards Az (mainly in the sex scenes) but that was because I didn’t think that is the way he would have acted. The more I read the more I started to like him again and then the author hit me with another bat. Omg I swear she loves to play on my emotions.

The other characters have grown alot during this book, specially Jeron. I think he really has come along way. I really liked this book, the only reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars is because I felt like it dragged a little and too much had happened.

I am trying to think of what more I can say about this book, but I am having issues. What I do know is that I loved the book, the character and the author can really send you on a roller coaster of emotions. She writes amazingly strong female character and and charming men. The sex scenes have a nice flow, and really interesting to read about multiple people going at it.

XOXO,

this book was much much better than book 6.
Az got into heat and she needs to be sustained by her men. Some of them willing and one not (check it out which one of them). It was well written and allowed to see Az in a new way.
Book kept me interested in what will happen as events were wisely put in the middle of Az's heat fog.
Can't wait o read book 8 (the conclusion)!

Chimera is a direct follow on from Gladiatrix. It follows Azrica and her f*** buddies, Hal, Jeron, Willard and Degus as they are moved away from the planet, Garia by their handler, Zethn, without the arena mistress's knowledge, and without knowing where they were heading. As the journey progresses, one relationship grows stronger; that between Hal and Azrica. Jeron was having conflict issues throughout the story, which were well written. In fact, the whole story was well written, with only one or two minor errors that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the read.

We see Azrica soften while in heat, growing to love all of her males, and showing her more vulnerable side. Don't get me wrong, she's still bad ass, and she still has her mother residing in her head, which is part of her well developed character, and charm, of course. There are some comic aspects to the story, which Hal and Degus provide quite nicely. I like them! So funny!

Zethn turns out to be a good egg, as she softens towards her 5 slaves, but at the same time remains in control of them, keeping them in line, showing them who's boss, and on that subject, I'll say no more. The story will show you her motives for "Stealing" the arena slaves. Oh yeah! And if you like your sex scenes, there are plenty =), some had a BDSM feel to them, a bit of D/s feel!

Again, after reading this book, you are left with an insight to the follow on in the series, which I look forward to reading.

4.5 stars for this read.

Loved Az! She is tough and all kinds of hard but she has a soft spot inside - and it's starting to finally show.

The story of life on Garia was a tough one at times but E.Jaye did a great job of showing why they were as tough as nails and callous about killing. It was a kill or be killed world.

**possible spoiler**

I was a bit confused as to whether Hal was Rustek's older brother or what for the longest time. Finally it was made clear he was his Nephew. I just always got the impression that Hal was a lot older than Azrica and yet he couldn't have been if he was the offspring of Hal's brother. Oh, well, it didn't ruin the story for me but it was just a bit confusing.

Can't wait for the next book in the series!
