An account of the brutal murder of Chris Hobson describes how Hobson's stepmother conspired with her son to kill her stepson, driving him to a remote place, making him dig his own grave, and shooting him in it. Original.
I appreciated this book because I remember it happening. I found out a few things I did not know previously. It is out of print and hard to find. I wish there would have been more pictures of the people involved. My opinion? I don't think the two boys would have committed this crime without the push from stepmom.
It took me a long time to get through this book. At 480 pages with small print, it was slow going. The background information leading up to the murder was tedious and repetitive and the investigation and trial were mostly rehashing of what we already knew. I did finish it though.
Prof. O'Donnell was my favorite teacher in college. I also remember the events in this book, which were chilling at the time. He presented it so well for the time it was written. I still get chills.
From my own collection. This was a pretty good story. It's a complicated case and it's hard to know if the author was completely objective, but it seems to be pretty well researched. The author has a strange way of judging people by their looks that was kind of annoying.
