In this adaptation of the four-part Season Three finale, Avatar fans will finally discover if Aang really can save the world from the evil Fire Lord! Told through first person narratives, readers will get the inside scoop from their favorite characters, and hear what’s going on in their heads as they help Aang battle the ultimate enemy. Organzied into short chapters, this book is especially suited for middle-grade readers, but it can be enjoyed by Avatar fans of any age. Also included is a totally exclusive Q & A with Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, as well as some of their early sketches of the Avatar world and characters. This full-color interior will feature illustrations based on the episodes, and an original, pull-out poster!
Takes a few liberties that are a little funky, plus there is a lot left out or glossed over. If I hadn't watched the show, it'd feel a little all over the place.
This book was my life back when it first came out; I distinctly remember reading it on the 4th of July. Sozin's Comet was my favorite episode of the show so I was thrilled to read a book through the eyes of various characters (especially my babe, Azula). I still read this from time to time when I need to get my Azula fix.
Basically the same as the episode but with the inner thoughts - I think Azula's chapters were most interesting, and Iroh's the most heartwarming (as one would expect!). I think Sokka's view of the sacrifices he had during the final battle are given greater weight here, and will make any rewatch more meaningful.
Drawing could use some improvement because I personally believe that Suki looks like a MAN but other than that, if I had to say so myself, not bad of a book. Describes everything in detail and I personally like that they put in different perspectives.
Yeah, as proven once again, I am the greatest Avatard nerd there is out there! Even after seeing the finale more than a dozen times after 5 1/2 months since it first came out, I still couldn't resist getting this as soon as I first laid eyes upon it with my own allowance money (part of it might have been the poster included inside too). Haha, it's still as awesome as I can ever remember it being! ~Long live Avatar: the Last Airbender~
The end of our epic and riveting series....while of course the book couldn't duplicate the great visual effects of the finale on screen, it was still told extremely well. Completely in love with the series!
