Dr. Paul Chappell is the senior pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church and president of West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. His biblical vision has led the church to become one of the most dynamic independent Baptist churches in the nation. He has been married to his wife for over thirty-six years and is the father of four married children all serving in Christian ministry. His books can be found at http://www.strivingtogether.com.
Continue was used in a mentoring situation in my church. We used this to train 8 future mentors & it was a great help to them & myself. There are 14 sections or weeks of study. Each week corresponds to a particular area of doctrine or area of growth for a Christian. The book is meant to be used by a “mentor” to train a new disciple. It is good for use for any Christian at any level their walk with God may be. I’d highly recommend this tool.
Quality material. I went through this discipleship manual with a family in our church. The book simply covers the basic doctrines and basic theology. I would recommend this as a beginning manual for discipleship.
I just finished reading through this book, in preparation to start discipling a younger believer. I have to say, I am truly impressed. And excited!
This is a completely biblical, deep, daily bible study which will take at least 1/2 hour per day. It covers a lot of ground, and not just superficial head-learning.
It deals with questions newer believers would have, teaches godly disciplines, and offers practical pointers.
I believe anyone who desires a closer walk with the Lord will gain spiritual growth with this study.
If you don't have a godly spiritual mentor, ask your pastor for a recommendation. It makes all the difference!
By the way, our church has a discipling model that works really well. We do discipling in groups of three: a mature believer, a growing believer, and a [spiritually] young believer. The growing believer is one who has completed the course as the disciplee. That way, he or she learns how to become a discipler.
A very thorough and easy-to-understand manual for new Christians or anyone who wishes to disciple new Christians. Our pastor gave us this book, and my wife and I read it together, one chapter per week. As a recently born again believer, I found it very enriching and edifying. Highly recommended for really any level of Bible study.
⚓️ having been taken through Continue many years ago. This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to lead someone through. Refreshing And challenging. Praying for another journey!
