Long ago, a dark creature sought to destroy humanity. Near the end of its reign, the very face of the Earth was destroyed, and it ensured that all records of its existence were lost.

Centuries later, that creature is beginning its return.

When she is taken captive by Daemon Martyr, an infamous murderer, and his companion, Rori Kalhorn, Vivica Muse is faced with the choice to obey or die. She reluctantly agrees to assist the younger male in obtaining the fabled eyes that grant one special abilities. Little does she know that her actions are aiding in the rebirth of a creature that threatens the lives of the family she wishes to return to, and all of humanity. Nor is she aware of the connection between the creature and her captors, with whom she finds herself wondering about as time piles on.

Then she is dragged into a strange world, where bizarre creatures warn her of the creature and hint at the possibility that she, or a loved one, may be able to defeat this dark being.
