An unlikely assignment throws recent graduate Ella Wade directly into the frenzy of a deadly scandal and the burn-your-fingers-hot male model at its heart, Jaxson Cole.
Ella Wade knew working at a website called The Daily Scandal might lead to an interesting summer job after graduating college. She did not know that one big mistake would pull her into the heart of a sleazy world of publicity where truths are worse than lies and a murderer is on the loose.
When Ella gives into temptation and sleeps with her stepsister Madison's ex, her world flips upside down. It doesn't matter that Madison is dead or that Jaxson Cole wasn't, in fact, her boyfriend but a publicist's stunt to link two of the hottest catwalk models romantically in order to feed tabloid curiosity. The damage is done and with deadly consequences.
Even worse, Jax definitely knows things he won't say. Falling for his epic hotness could mean one good screw will screw Ella for a lifetime.
* This book contains explicit language, violence and sex*
This collection includes all three books in the romantic suspense series SCANDAL and it is the complete story of Ella Wade and Jaxson Cole.
USA Today Bestselling author Alison Foster loves reading a good love story almost as much as she loves writing one. She spends her time dreaming up strong heroes and even stronger heroines and she enjoys finding unexpected strengths within her characters when they are in the most unexpected places.
She believes that passion makes the world go round and that a sexy grin is as sweet as candy. She loves interacting with readers, so feel free to drop her a line.
Ella has taken on a job at The Daily Scandal, it's not glamorous or respectable, but it'll pay the bills. When a major loss happens in the fashion industry, Ella is called to report on it, despite the fact that Madison was also her ex-stepsister. When she's invited to join in on the investigating she doesn't expect to meet Jaxson Cole, her sister's pseudo-boyfriend and handsome model, and she really doesn't expect him to be so taken with her. When she gives into temptation with Jax she is unprepared for the rest of her life to start to unravel with his secrets.
I swear, if he takes one step closer, I'll throw my arms around his neck and kiss him. I might be the worst stepsister in world history. Luckily for my soul's salvation, he stays put.
Do you know how many highlights I made in this book? A LOT. Main character, Ella Wade, has some of the funniest inner monologue and dialogue that I have read from a character in a romance novel in a while. With Part 1 just from her perspective I felt connected to her right away, like I understood her past and the road she was on. She was super stubborn and lacked in the common sense department, but that's what made her all the more fun. Jaxson, on the other hand, is a swoon-worthy, brooding model that apparently has piles of women who want to jump his bones. I must be a weirdo, because I can't name a single male model in real life. That said, I guess if they looked like Jax was described I would be all over it. Despite reading the synopsis of this book, after getting through Part 1 I really thought I would just be reading a contemporary romance novel, then Part 2 happened and the suspense kicked in. The plot line, though a little fuzzy, is certainly an interesting one. I really like mafia anything when it comes to books, so I liked hearing both main characters had mafia ties. Part 2 and 3 are very fast paced and I got through them in about an hour total.
"How can you say that? We're about to see naked women," I say. "Surely the meaning of life can't be far behind."
I really enjoyed Part 1, liked Part 2, and ended up pretty confused by the end of Part 3. It was really easy to tell the bundle is separate books in a series and unfortunately I felt like the books read very differently. At about the halfway point in part 2 I realized that the character's actions and some of their history just wasn't going to make sense for me, especially the mafia aspect of everything. I easily was able to forget what made sense for the suspense part and found it entertaining, but the relationship between Jaxton and Ella was just over the top. Ella felt very naive at first, but soon was all about the sex. Jax, on the other hand, had a lot of secrets to reveal and while I like twists, these threw me off. The main characters were interesting, but didn't feel tied to their mafia past and I would have liked that to be more fleshed out. There are also a handful of secondary characters thrown into the mix in Parts 2 and 3 that left me feeling like I couldn't keep any one person, or their connections, in order.
It's as if the natural barrier that exists between two strangers is being shattered while we're pretending to be who we are not.
Based on other reviews, Scandal is the kind of book you either really like or really don't like. I can say this, it's absolutely worth a shot if you like head-strong, hilarious female characters and a fairly unique plotline in the romantic suspense genre.
Favorite quote: I'm amazing my tongue didn't slip and said I'd like to sleep on him. Or under him. Any fucking way, really.
I honestly don’t know what I was expecting from this book, but definitly it wasn’t what I got. EHEH! After reading this I came to a conclusion: Romantic Suspense is not my genre.
With that said, this book was definitly entertaining and fun, and I was laughing throughout most of it. I did have a very hard time suspending my disbelief, and only when I started with my “f*** it, let’s just roll with it“, did I really enjoy it.
The writing was definitly fun and engaging. I found myself laughing with the main characters, because they were hilarious.
My problem was really the plot and the direction of the story. I couldn’t help but feel completely mislead by the blurb… This book is divided in 3 parts, which were first published separately, and from first to the second part, the story does a complete 180º. I should have payed more attention to the fact that this was a romantic suspense book, because maybe then I would have been ready for the weapons, and the crime families, and everyone trying to kill everyone or teach each other lessons… Still, if you like this kind of plot, I will say that this one was kind of good, it had everything! Loads of action, gunfights, strip clubs, a lot of sexy times, and even a tiny little hint of an orgy.
About the characters… I kind of liked them, lol. Ella was determined and passionate, and Jax was a man in love and with a mission. I definitly thought that they had lots of chemistry, even if the romance was far too fast paced. I did enjoy their moments together, in fact, those were my favorite moments of this book. The secondary characters were all very one dimensional to me, and even the 2 mains characters could have used some development as well…
In the end, if you like the romantic suspense genre, and want to read a very steamy book, I would recommend this one to you ;-).
“I don’t mean to be judgmental… I just hope you know nobody can stay on top forever. Life has its own gravity.”
“I live in this electric moment between us. The future and past seem so unnecessary. To linger in his eyes in the here and now. This is all I want, this tender magic.”
Book 2
“I fell in love the way a ten-year-old falls in love. It was pure. Joy and breathlessness. I didn’t know the implications of that feeling, how it would survive when everything else in the world and in me changed.”
Book 3 “I turn my head and, sure enough, two bulky figures dressed in black are discreetly on our tail, riding expertly on horseback. I wonder if they order these guys for every occasion like birthday party performers. For this bit of evil we will need a couple of trained killers who are excellent equestrians.”
“‘Ella, I’m your father,’ he says as coldly as Darth Vader… I linger in this painfully comic Darth Vader abstraction. Humor has always been my preferred place to hide.”
“You only come home when it rains. My mother would have called you a meal-time mutt.”
“Trust me, you don’t want to be in a cabin in the woods with a man named Wolf.”
My Review:
I was intrigued, confused, and glad I had the whole box set already loaded on my kindle, as the first two books ended with heinous cliffhangers. The story was beyond sensual and well into erotic, but somewhat creepy too, I was quickly and hopelessly hooked soon after beginning the first book, and the tension kept ramping up the further into the conspiracy I read, each chapter presented more questions and confusion than answers.
Book 1 was written from Ella's POV, Book 2 from Jax’s POV, and Book 3 was written from their dual POV. While some plot holes left me scratching my head a bit, I enjoyed the ending Book 3 brought to this suspenseful story with more flips and twists than an Olympic gymnast. It was often difficult to determine who was good and who was bad, and who was just naughty… I was cynical of them all by the end. The story held the tension, drama, and erotic nature throughout, and I really enjoyed the unexpected and timely hits of humor.
Alison Foster is a new author to me, and after reading Scandal: The Complete Series... I am fan! This book is the complete collection of 3 part serial. It was full of mystery, suspense and seamy romance! I found the storyline intriguing and the characters were well developed. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I couldn't put it down.
This story starts off with Ella Wade, the junior editor of The Daily Scandal, finding out her sister was murdered. She covers the story, and quickly meets Jackson Cole, her sister's boyfriend. This story is jam pack with twists and turns. I was constantly trying to figure out who did it, and wondering what was going to happen next.
If you are looking for a fantastic and suspenseful romance... I recommend picking up this up!
***I was the lucky winner of a GoodReads giveaway for a paperback copy of this book, but my opinions are 100% my own***
Scandal: Part One This is a fast paced and very quick read. Scandal has mystery, murder, heat and danger that can be found anywhere within the read. It has you guessing what will happen next especially at the end. Alison Foster pulls you into a world of tabloids, modeling and the moment of realization that decisions that are made will have consequences. How hard will Ella fall for Jaxson? What damage will be done before the truth to the mystery will be revealed? Can't wait to see what happens next.
Scandal: Part Two Alison Foster is giving more suspense and mystery in Scandal Part 2. Ella and Jax are determined to be a part of each others lives. There are more twist and turns. Some of the mystery is revealed but there is so much more to come. What will Ella and Jaxson have to do to be together? What is the danger that they are fighting to survive? I am looking forward to what happens next.
Scandal: Part Three What a grand finale! Alison Foster took the suspense to the next level with Scandal Part 3. Jax and Ella are very much a chemistry loaded couple. I enjoyed the thrill of mystery Alison Foster created throughout this series. Jax is a man so in love that he will do anything to stay with the one he loves. Ella is a fierce woman that continues to fight for what she wants. The drama with all the characters, the twists and turns were fabulous. Looking forward to more reads from Alison Foster. A series worth one clicking.
I am not the biggest fan of serials, but I do tend to jump on them when they're completely released - either individually or, in this case, in a single offering. This was so much fun. I loved the storyline and characters. When Ella sets out and finds herself with Jaxson, her stepsister's ex mind you, she doesn't expect the world she'll be thrown into. The suspense line is weaved beautifully through the three stories and the ending was a great close for this series. More than that, though, is the protective alpha-ness Jaxson shows; he's definitely a keeper.

I read this in reverse, first Bodyguard Dearest, and now Scandal but I can say that I appreciated it regardless. With how obsessive Jaxson was with Ella, you'd already know they'd stick forever and get their HEA. This story has suspense, action, and romance, so what's not to love about it!!
This was such a page turner! A thrilling story with a lot of suspense and steamy hot. You never know where the story is going, there is a twist almost on every page. I loved how Jax is totally devoted to Ella.
Might be my favorite out of the Hot and Dangerous series
It's a close tie between Tanner and Trista's story but I think Jax and Ella's story was the best. Nora and Lukas' was really good but I felt it was rushed at the end. Tanner's was great but Jax and Ella's had a lot more drama and suspense.. and danger. Also, I can't help but feel these were kinda out of order. I didn't see anywhere the author states they could be read in any order so I read them in order from the prequel Take Me Home to Scandal 1-3. It just felt like it didn't run as smoothly with the interconnections of each story. I don't know where Nora even came from but Tanner was in it. Sooo 🤷🏼♀️. I'm lost. Tanner's and Trista's story should've come second and Ella and Jax's first in my opinion. Idk where Nora and Lukas' would come in at. But overall a decent series. I really enjoyed Take Me Home, Bodyguard Dearest, Tremble and Scandal (1-3). They were all decent stories to read. 4 stars overall for the whole series together.
Ella’s story winded through three books before we got to the real whodunnit concerning her stepsister’s murder. Jaxson was just okay to me as a hero. I really didn’t get the mob connection from his uncle and Ella’s real dad. At the end did the mob threats really go away? Just like that? That’s the reason for the three stars..
A remarkable and incredibly compelling, and full of drama story that keeps you on the edge wanting more. The characters were exceptional and witty having to endure many situations while trying to stay alive. An adult romantic suspense hot page turner.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a romantic suspense about love in modern day cream of the crop society. This story begins with Ella who is trying to establish a name for herself as a reporter, while doing grunt work for a celebrity gossip rag over the summer. She soon finds herself working on an assignment finding out the details of her famous step sister's murder. As if her world is not already crumbling, she has to work closely with her step sister's boyfriend Jaxon and has a confusing yet undeniable attraction to him.
This bundled series is full of twist and turns and has you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. It is a unique and unpredictable story and the sexual chemistry between Ella and Jaxson is off the charts! Ella has the most appealing type of beauty where everyone around her is attracted to her looks and her charm and yet she still considers herself to be mediocre. As the story progresses we see more spunk from our Ella who is no shrinking violet.
Alison Foster is a phenomenal writer and knows how to take her readers on a truly suspenseful journey through a dark world full of conspiracy, murder, and sensuality. She has created such a scrumptious character with Jaxson and I love how she gives us a glimpse into his mind and heart. We get to delve under the surface of a gorgeous body and pretty face and become acquainted with the well trained, mysterious, morally sound Jaxson. I am blown away with the immensity of Jaxson's love for Ella.
From the first page to the last, I found myself filled with curiosity and bewilderment, but always anticipating more. The conclusion to this intriguing tale was everything a reader could have imagined along with many unforeseen events, including a Star Wars reference. What could be better than that? So get ready to delve into a dark, suspenseful, world full of deceit, shocking truths, and all around sexiness. There is plenty of action to make James Bond jealous, enough mystery to compete with Sherlock Holmes and so much scorching hot sex that it could melt your kindle.
Ella and Jaxson will mesmerize, arouse, and make you wish that this was not the end of their journey. Although something tells me that we will catch glimpses of these two amazing characters in another fictional world. I highly recommend for a fun, titillating, and thrilling read that will leave you wishing for more of this dangerous, sensual, journey.
So, I wanted to like this book a lot. But I just couldn't. Jax kind of creeps me out. He has basically stalking the girl he was in love with at ten years old. And he doesn't tell her they used to know each other. And we're supposed to think it's romantic because he was protecting her from his family and her father. No. He was stalking her. If her life is in danger, tell her. Don't dilly around and pretend you need to protect her from the truth. Because she needed to know.
Okay, rant over. I love Ella. She is spunky and determined to figure out what happened to her ex-step-sister. I loved that she would not back down and held her ground on most things. I also liked that she had a great relationship with her mom and that relationship was very visible throughout the novel.
I am super glad that I had all three books in one, because I think I might have gone crazy or never finished the series if they weren't all there. So, I would definitely recommend buying the trilogy rather than separately, even if you just want to see if you're interested by reading the first book. Having the whole trilogy increased my likelihood of finishing the whole series.
Scandal is for you if you like long lost loves, semi-stalker boyfriends, and spunky heroines.

The series starts out with Ella trying to find out what happened to her ex-stepsister and how she ended up dead. Enter her ex-stepsister's "boyfriend" Jaxson, who is more than he seems. While working together they are drawn to each other and embark on the wild journey for the truth. There is drama, suspense and romance in this second installment of the Scandal series. Ella and Jaxson have their work cut out for them if they want to be together, with so many working to keep them.apart. Add a murder investigation and the criminal underworld and it is explosive. Wow what a way to end the series. Jax and Ella are tested to the max! Jax wants to protect Ella and is told the only way is to walk away and join his uncle. Ella cares for Jax, but when she finds he knew about her father she feels her faith in him shake. These 2 have had to fight to be with each other, but in the end their faith in each other is what makes them stronger. I loved this series and this was the perfect ending. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I reviewed part one of this book last October, and gave it three stars for it’s fun and twisty mystery. However, I didn’t like the last two parts as much as the first. For one, the story became very predictable, and had me giving side-eye to my Kindle. Ella seemed like a sweet, if naive, reporter in part one, and then she began to seem like a sex crazed fool. I get that Jax is hung, and makes your toes curl, but aside from that he’s not what he seems. Nothing in the story led me to believe that he was Ella’s OTP. In fact, I’m not sure I even liked him as I learned more about him. Cont...
