Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.
That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.
🌟🌟🌟 In the beginning Hero was still pining away for ex and her child. He was overbearing initially to the heroine, bulldozing his way in. Not my cuppa. I'd have kicked him to the curb. I'm all for alpha, but not when he takes her choices away.
Dylan is ridged, has a no nonsense attitude and has no patience with Sera to me is comical. Dylan and Sera had me laughing at their antics and banter. They both think they no each other without talking to each other. Dylan with the file Sera's mother provided him with. Sera based on the fact that Dylan works for her mother. They both learn a lot about each other in the weeks together. You could feel the chemistry between Dylan and Sera. In my opinion this book is a lot of fun. There is some suspense, fun secondary characters and a slow build up to love. Nana Malone has a way of writing family dynamic that is fun to read. Nobody is perfect, they all have their flaws yet you can feel the love. In my opinion Nana Malone does a good job of writing strong women are independent but yet no how to lean on their men. She also so writes strong men who would do anything for their women and neither compromise who they are. In my opinion this is a great continuation of the Donovan Series. I loved this book.
I loved this book so much! Dylan is a strong, dominant, sexy FBI agent assigned to protect a senator's daughter. Sera wants nothing to do with her mother's political career, and insists on charting her own course in life. I loved how the story focused on the emotional depth of their feelings for each other, and how their relationship grew stronger as they faced their challenges together.
This book is part of the Donovan family series, and as such it gives us a lot of background history on the Donovan family, more so than the others in the series that I've read. It was a wonderful book to read; a perfect blend of romance, suspense, and heartwarming family moments.
Exciting and thrilling. This book has got some serious excitement and danger till the end. It definitely keeps you reading. I love the Donovan series and Dylan is no exception. Dylan is dealing with a lot on all fronts and then he has the nerve to add love into the mix. Serafina has a mother that will not let her live her own life. Her mother sends Dylan to get her to tow the line. In walks some serious sexy scenes that probably should be read in privacy.
Sera and Dylan are like polar opposites but that what makes them work. She shows her emotions, he doesn't. The family dynamics is always there. Of course, there's always that fantastic bestie that has your back.
All FBI Agent Dylan Donovan wanted was to go back to his life in New York, the life that included his former fiancée Symone and her daughter Carmen. After saving Senator Justice’s life a year ago, she had pulled strings that pulled him from New York and placed him in DC, in her task force. She owed him, now, it was time to collect on her IOU and get her recommendation so his request for transfer back to New York would be approved. In order to get that, she needed him to do her another “favor” first. She is putting in a bid for presidency and has been receiving some disturbing letters tying back to when she was targeted by an anti-government militia group because of her policies on gun control. One such letter containing photos was sent to her estranged daughter. Luckily, her people had intercepted the letter, but until she announced her bid and could be under the protection of the Secret Service, she needed someone she could trust to monitor her and keep things quiet. So now he was here in San Diego for six weeks to “babysit” and bring the Senator’s fragile daughter to DC in time for the announcement. What he didn’t expect to find was a sexy, mature, beautiful woman that intrigued and excited him…in more ways than one. I really enjoyed Love in Plain Sight by Nana Malone. The chemistry between Dylan and Serafina was palpable. We’re talking sheet-gripping, face-fanning, off-the-charts sexual chemistry. On top of that, add in an ex that won’t go away, deception, revenge, danger, lies, truths, compassion, forgiveness, family, seduction, lust, love, and let’s not forget panty-wetting sex! Great job Nana Malone!
I'm not completely sure if this falls under the category of romantic suspense, but I can see where it would.
Dylan Donovan was assigned to protect Serafina, the daughter of a U.S. Senator, planning to run for President. Serafina and her brother had been kidnapped before in relation to a bill their mother had been trying to get passed.
Dylan and Serafina had an extremely strong attraction they both tried to ignore, along with a very contentious relationship that eventually worked out to be something stronger.
I liked the way Dylan and Sera were able to let go with each other. This was not 'instalove'. It took them time to build trust. Both had past and present issues they were trying to handle, not to mention Sera's stalker.
I liked her friend Taj, and eventually grew to like her coworker, Jason. Donovans and friends from previous books also made brief appearances. When I think about it, there was a lot going on in this book, but it was so well done, you really don't realize it.
All I can say is that once I started to read it, I just kept reading until I finished the book. I think this is my favorite Donovan book so far.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review and received no compensation for my opinion.
In Plain Sight was a great read with many components wrapped in a HEA package. There's danger, a little intrigue, and of course romance and some hot chemistry. The supporting characters were all interesting in their own way. I loved the family relationship between Dylan and his siblings, and especially the friendship between Sera and Taj. Taj was a super fun, free spirited character that was way out there in her attitude. I loved the friction between her and Ava, it was like Taj saw something that everyone else missed.
I especially loved the concept of Girl Interrupted. The campaign that Sera worked on, the concept that was describe, the event that was held, it was an awesome message. I loved the imagery of the models stripping down their make-up. It was a very powerful visual and message for all women.
The chemistry between Dylan and Sera was off the charts, the sex scenes were well written and hot! I loved how the author always brought the emotions into play during those sex scenes. Dylan or Sera was always thinking about the depth of their feelings and how that impacted their physical relationship.
There was so much to love about this book. I'm definitely interested in picking up the previous books. I'm in love with the Donovans!
Find a comfy place, grab a glass of wine, and make sure you have the air conditioner running because this book is HOT and you will not want to put it down!
The characters are very well-written and complex. There isn't just one side to either Dylan or Sera. This is not a typical romance hero/heroine couple. Both of them have had events in their life that have shaped who they are. But together they realize that they don't have to let those things define who they are. They are truly beautifully written and I enjoyed their growth over the course of the story.
Now that's not to say that there isn't some totally off-the-charts hot chemistry between the two. The sexual tension between Dylan and Sera had me cranking down the AC to sub-zero just to cool off! And the sex scenes are even hotter!
The story itself makes for a great read, even if you left out the fun parts. It can truly be a story about finding the person who completes you with mystery, suspense, and a little family drama thrown in. All in all I think you will be seriously disappointed if you decide to pass up this book.
I received ARC book for honest review. I read this book the same day I got it and couldn't put it down until I finished. Right after I finished the book I wrote up review, saved it on another computer and have been waiting for notification to post review. I am not posting from the computer I saved my original from but here goes....
Sera Justice girl out to make her own path in the world separate from her mother's political pursuits and her controlling ways. Working at Stark Communications she's given the campaign for a nonprofit client Girl Interrupted. She agrees to celebrate with her friends Taj and Ava at the normal hang out. Here she meets Dylan. He clearly showing interest in Sera but her friend Ava is determined not to be dismissed. Taj puts Ava on notice to back off. Dylan dismisses Ava's advances and convinces Sera to dance with him. From this point on the sparks fly between two independently determined people. Things really heat up when she learns he was sent by her mother as a protection detail.
This book and The Donovans series are good reads. Well done Ms. Malone. Looking forward to reading the next one.
This is book 4 of the series but can be read as a stand alone.
I have read a few books so far from Nana Malone and so far, I have liked all that I have read (Including this one). I have not read any others from this series, but I need to go back and read the rest from this series now. Since this had characters from the previous books show up in this one, I have become curious on how their stories progressed.
I really liked Dylan and Sera. Their story was well written, their dialogue flowed nicely and the descriptions to details in their story was done where it was easy to visualize. This story includes a lil bit of mystery, some deception, some hehehe moments and a HEA. Sera is such a strong character but in a comical way. She doesn't take crap off of anyone and isn't afraid to tell you like it is. Dylan is just as stubborn and isn't afraid to take the bull by the horns.
Dylan wants out, he's ready to return to New York to rebuild his relationship with his former girlfriend, Symone and continue to be a part of her daughter, Carmen's life. Since he saved the life of Senator Justice, he knows she owes him a favor and can get him out of DC and back to being an FBI agent in NYC. The Senator agrees but there's a condition...he has to "babysit" her daughter.
Serafina is out clubbing with the girls and notices a guy so she dances for him. She later comes face-to-face with him and his demands. Their pretend relationship works temporarily but soon she is getting pointers from her girlfriend on how to seduce him. Her mother's plan to bid for president puts a dangerous spin on her life and Sera soon discovers her enemies are closer than she ever imagined.
In spite of betrayal, all the family drama & their insecurities, they find everlasting love....
I absolutely loved this book. FBI Agent Dylan Donovan was called to protect Sera by her mother, who is a Senator, as a favor for the Senator. So Dylan meets her in a bar. Sera has sworn off men. Sera wants nothing to do with her mother and has been on her own for many years. When Sera needed her mother, she was not available.
The characters were believable and the chemistry was hot between FBI Agent Dylan Donovan and Sera. This is well written. It has mystery, suspense, and romance all mixed together with a bit of family drama. I love how strong Sera is and does not allow anything to stop her.
☆☆☆☆☆ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
*** I was given an ARC of this book for a honest review for which I have not been paid. ***
This is book 4 in the series and its Dylan and Sera's story. I liked the couple I thought they had good chemistry. I loved that the majority of the book was about the couple and them getting to know each other.
The book was slow in parts for me and I felt because of that the story could have been a lot shorter which would have made the pace much faster. Other than that it was a fun and entertaining read.
Nana Malone's "Love in Plain Sight" is as Intriguing as the rest of her work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sera and Dylan's story. My interest was piqued from beginning to end. I knew the deal with Ava immediately and wasn't surprised when her secret was revealed. Taj is something else, but is a very true friend. I always enjoy catching up with the Donovan clan and reading about what is going on with them since previous stories in this series.
The ending seemed a little rushed to me. And a lot of details went lacking. Like , what happened with Ava? Did the New York project get started? Inquiring minds wanted to know
Dylan is so straightforward and rigid, Sera is wild and carefree! They are perfectly matched! She thinks he is there to save her, but she saves him so many times!! I could read this book over and over. I plan to do just that!!!
