As Game Warden, Jack Chambers is responsible for the wildlife in and around Grizzly Cove, but he never expected to find a badly injured mermaid washed up on the shore near his house. He takes her in and helps her back to health, only to learn of the much greater danger held at bay, just off shore, and how it’s affecting the ocean-going shifter population. Jack’s immediate problem is the pull the leviathan still has over the woman he is fast coming to believe is his mate. He has to save her, but they also need to work through the problems of a land shifter and a mermaid getting together. Can they make the relationship work? Or is he going to end up broken hearted when she returns to her watery home? And who even knew there were mer people off shore? This is something the residents of Grizzly Cove are going to have to figure out, especially with the leviathan out there too, still posing a great threat to all creatures of the Light.

Really really short. But hey! Mermaids! Plus no "one of them" angst over the mating - nice change of pace.

I really love this series with all these bear shifters making their home together and I couldn't wait to read Jack's story. It was definitely one about an insta-love when he meets his mate. The fact that Grace is a mermaid was such a wonderful bonus. These two were sweet and sexy together and I enjoyed their story.

I give Saving Grace 4 hearts!

Grizzly Cove – the cove; his house that overlooks the cove with its furniture mad of saplings and tree limbs; the forest; neighbor’s wave pool;

Jack Chambers: Game Warden of Grizzly Cove; more of a loner than the other bears – why John trusted him as warden; on rounds one evening he finds a mermaid, hurt, unconscious, washed up to shore, shifting to human; he has more of an affinity with the ocean, and built his home overlooking the cove;

Grace Waters: mermaid; attacked by the leviathan; barely made it to cove behind the wards and safety; wakes up in Jack’s bed;

Brody: Jack’s brother;

Georgio: Jack’s closest neighbor; seriously wounded in war, and still in therapy to recover full use of legs; has a wave pool for therapy;

Gustav van Wilde: bear shifter - shaman; liaison with the native Indian population; helps join the souls of Jack and Grace;

Jack rescues Grace – they fall in love… she is battling the leviathan’s voice calling her back to the water; they join Gustav in the circle of stones above the cove, where their souls float, mix, split, and pour back in each body… now both hear the leviathan’s call, but it is diluted and easy to ignore…

Grace was a mermaid who got caught up in the way of an evil sea monster.

Jack was the game warden of the area. He was a quiet and docile bear. His brother, Brody was the sheriff and liked being around people all the time. Jack was doing his normal walk about, nearing his home. He was close by the waters edge, when he spies something there. Not just a something, A person. A female mermaid! They were real? He got closer, and noticed her condition. She was bloody and nearly breathing. He felt compelled to assist her. His home was very close. He watched as her tail went to legs! Picking her up and bringing her to safety was for the best. What happened to her to bring her this close to land??

Although short, this is a sweet and steamy romance with wonderful characters. In this book, we find out more about the Grizzly Cove game warden named Jack. He finds a mermaid named Grace on the beach. He fears the evil leviathan hurt her so he takes Grace to his home to help her recuperate. They feel this intense attraction to each other and find they are mates. The ceremony binding them as mates is magical and should help Grace resist the evil in the ocean. Very entertaining story!

Ok that’s it for me. I’m tired of the bears finding mates yes maybe to help defeat the leviathan around the cove but how many do we need to mate? I want an END to the darn thing but I’m tired of bear 🐻 mating. I know we still have a sister that will have to do an some other mojo spell but I’ve reached my limit. So I guess I’ll never know how it ends. Good by leviathan.

Really loved this story.

Now I know that I'm going to be reading the rest of these books from Grizzly Cove. Wow and what a way to fight the evils around them. So watch out land, air, and sea here come the good guys to fight the evils in our realm.

Suspenseful and romantic.

The more of this series that I read the more apparent the author relays the fact that although we all are different most of us still have the need for love and acceptance.

Sexy, funny, and fierce

I think Jack and Grace’s story is one of my favorite in this series. It’s serious but still lighthearted, has danger and rest, fierce protectiveness and so so so much love. A truly entertaining story that I enjoy reading over and over again.

Enjoying the cove

I like how each of the bears is getting a strong mate that brings power to the fight. The mermaid is intriguing. Looking forward to seeing all the alliances. These are short quick reads.

I have to tell you that I am enjoying this series more and more. While this was a pretty quick read (it took me about an hour) it was so worth it. Jack quickly became my favorite guy in Grizzly Cove. He enjoys his time alone but there is just something strong about him. Like he is the type of guy who doesn't say much but when he does pay attention because it's important. He is the Game Warden and enjoys his job. He stumbles across a woman on the beach who is injured and has washed ashore. He is amazed to learn that Grace is a mermaid and instantly feels drawn to her.

Grace has spent many years in her mer form and until now really hasn't wanted to stay ashore. He mother is a mermaid while her father is human so she does know of both worlds but is happiest in the water. However from the moment she awakens in Jack's bed there is something about him. They both realize quickly that they are each other's mate but how does a bear and mermaid make all that work out? Not to mention the call of the evil in the water is so strong with Grace that she walks out there in the middle of the night. Had Jack not shown up there is no telling what would of happened.

Like I said I quickly became attached to this series and I just adore the bears and the little town they are building for themselves. That started out as an experiment because bears typically don't live together in a group has quickly became so much more as other types of shifters, humans, and witches join them. This book was well written and the characters are developed wonderfully. I found myself hoping that Jack and Grace could figure it out and when a vision of more mer people is seen I was thrilled!

Bianca D'arc has done it again

The suspense of Jack and Grace being able to find their way as a couple when one lives primarily on land and the other the sea was a really touching showing of how opposites can find their HEA together even while under attack from the evil lurking outside the cove waiting and watching looking for a weakness it can exploit even as it causes havoc for those who's home is the sea. Bianca D'arc has taken what was an idea for retired bear shifter spec ops soldiers under their Alpha John to make a home for themselves when they thought the fighting was over for them and is now slowly and brilliantly weaving it into the main storyline and the war between the Goddess light and the darkness brewing with Elsbeth and her evil minions and as she does she makes her bear shifters stronger by finding them their mates in the sisters at the bakery and the lovely mage bookstore owner and now with Grace a warrior mermaid (that's so awesome) there is still Milly from the bookstore but I think she may have her eye on someone already Jack and Grace are the most interesting pairing to date for me and can't wait for more about her friend and sister mermaid warrior and what might be brewing with bear shifter fisherman ex-soldier Drew. I have read everything to do with Grizzly Cove, The Brotherhood and the Were lords and the Redstone's plus their monarchy counterparts for this main storyline and as much as I want the final confrontation I also never want this to end which is what happens with a great set of series that all flow in together even as they stand on their own. If you haven't read the rest yet start with the Brotherhood and work your way through you definitely won't be disappointed and be sure to get this book as they can be read as standalone but it gives you a better picture to my way of seeing to read allk the Grizzly Cove books.

What a Sweet Read
“Saving Grace” Grizzly Cove Installment #5 Bianca D’Arc

In the midst of such turbulence and surrounded by evil Bianca D’Arc managed to pull off a really sweet read. In Saving Grace Jake Chambers is patrolling around the perimeter of Grizzly Cove to make sure the wards are still secure and the Leviathan and its evil minions have not broken through. Nearing the end of his patrol near his house he spots something or someone on the beach. Deciding to risk it moves quickly towards the object to realize it’s a person and it’s female. Upon closer observation he sees what appears to be a shimmer and scales disappearing. He’s stunned to realize he’s come upon a mermaid and she’s badly injured. Lifting her quickly but gently he rushes back to his cabin to assess her injuries. Now the magic begins.
This was the perfect read to introduce new characters and push the story into a direction pulling in more allies to fight the evil descending on those of the Light. We meet Georgio a best friend of Jake’s (I’d like to see him find his one) who was seriously injured in the war they fought. Then theirs Gus a Shaman who also is a friend of Jake’s and helps he and Grace speed up their bond merging their magic. He also had some very interesting pieces of information regarding the future he let loose. So totally can’t wait.
Though this was a sweet romance between Jake and Grace you’ll notice the set up for the future reads. At least I did. I’m anxious to see where it goes. Oh and by the way, at the end of Saving Grace we are treated to a little snippet of Bearliest Catch which we’ll see two more characters Drew and Jetty. Fun Fun Fun. I so can’t wait for this release. 5* Bianca I love this little series.

This fifth book of the Grizzly Cove series starts off with a bang, well, not a bang so much but very interestingly! Jack, our lovable and loner game warden for Grizzly Cove is doing his rounds when he spots something on the beach. Throwing caution to the wind, he heads over to investigate and is shocked by what he finds. Rather, who he finds. When Jack 'meets' Grace, what does he think of her? He notifies John and when John shows up, what kind of third degree does he put Grace through and how does she respond to it? Things take a decidedly interesting turn after John and his fuzzy side talk with Grace for a bit. Her thoughts are even more interesting when Jack walks John out after their conversation. Can a Mer and a Bear shifter work together and become mates? Well, you're going to have to read and find out what happens in this book. There are some very tense moments.

I love this series about a group of Bear Shifters who make their home in the Pacific Northwest. Fans of D'Arc's Tales of the Were will recognize a familiar villain as well as some familiar faces from previous series.

This one was a short read for me but packed full of adventure. Jack is the Game Warden for the Cove. Everyone in on high alert due to the danger lurking just off shore. Who would have guessed that mer people are real? Not Jack. He stumbles upon Grace near death on the shores of the cove.

Together, two are stronger. Not knowing if bears and mermaid's can be together or not, the couple holds off on exploring their attraction. Magic comes in to play here and the Goddess of Light has more in store for these two.

I enjoyed seeing the story move forward in this book. But it is short. A greedy reader always wants more. It speaks to Bianca's writing, though. Never enough poured into one story. I need to find out what happens!! Great addition to the series.

I have to say, so far Saving Grace is my favorite of the Grizzly Cove series. Now that statement would have had more impact if I'd read more then two books but it's the thought that counts.

I loved Saving Grace. It's mostly due to the fact that I really liked both Jack & Grace. Jack is my favorite shifter type, I really love a bear and who wouldn't like to meet a mermaid?

I know I would!

Saving Grace might be a short novella but it packs a full story into it. Not something easy to do. I didn't feel like anything was left out or missing. It continued the leviathan story line while giving you both Jack and Grace's romance! You'll love them together.

This was the perfect addition to the series. I can't wait to read what's next!

This was one heck of a good quick read. I've never read anything involving mermaids until now, and I must say, I really liked it. It is a shorter books that effectively gets the job done. There is a great pace and it keeps you in your toes.

With the evil leviathan out to get everyone, Jack and Grace have to decide how quickly their mating bond needs to take place. With the evil lurking, everything moves at a different speed. Can they strengthen their magic to help Grace resist the pull if the evil? Are they truly fated mates?

I can't wait for Bearliest Catch to see where the story will further unfold. Highly enjoyable shifter romance.

This book was adorable, it's between a mermaid and a bear shifter.

- I liked how innocent and sweet the heroine was and how the hero found her as such

- I liked how instantly protective the hero was with the heroine like not wanting guys to touch her or doesn't want her to be upset XD

- In this book the story progresses a bit more with the introduction to the water life and its creatures and how they suffer the most currently since the town is safe from the evil that dwells there

Overall, *thumbs up*

I found it a bit too short in length, character development and action. but worth reading as it furthers the overall story line of the forces of light vs the forces of Elspeth, the destroyer. this one mates the sea with land...a mermaid and a bear shifter fall in love and mate. can't wait to learn more about Gus, the shaman/chaplain of the bear group. Re-read nearly a year later in 2017. Still a good story. Wish this author would write longer tales. Re-read yet again in June,2019. Still good.

While this was a good addition to the series it lacked some of the excitement of the last book. Grace, a mermaid, washes up into the cove after being seriously injured by the leviathan. Jack. The Grizzly Cove game warden, finds her and nurtures her back to health. They discover they are true mates. The evil in the water calls to her and she struggles to fight the pull. Even that issue was handled mildly in the book.

it was an okay read for me but only because there were some development into the whole story, the city, the bad guys and more good guys coming.
as for the romantic part, it was meh... okay. I didn't feel the attraction to the characters, this story wasn't really accompanied with big scary adventure. it was for me quick and mate. not a bad thing since I loved the previous book but this one wasn't as exciting.

I keep being drawn back to this series.

Each story is has a happy ending but with connections to the other stories. Like reading a history book with a day(s) in the life of... in each chapter. Once you pick it up, you'll have a hard time putting it down till you're finished.
