Chase and the rest of Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol have an out-of-this-world adventure when they help a lost alien find his spaceship. Boys and girls ages 4 to 6 will love this leveled reader. Leveled readers feature big type and easy words. Rhymes and rhythmic text paired with picture clues help children decode the story. This book is for children who know the alphabet and are eager to begin reading. This Nickelodeon Read-Along contains audio narration.
Reading this book feels like fast-forwarding through a TV episode, randomly hitting pause, and trying to put together the plot from those disconnected images. Perhaps a familiarity with the characters going in might help join it up a little, but I worry that this sort of book won't help foster a love of reading in those just starting out.
Ek het in "The Crazy Store" hierdie boekie teen R39,98 aangeskaf. Ek moes net. Dis immers in Afrikaans.
[Ek moet 'n hele paar DVD's nou gaan koop...]
As a dad to a 3-year-old who’s currently obsessed with anything Paw Patrol, Chase’s Space Case was an easy win in our house. The story is simple, fun, and full of that classic Paw Patrol teamwork message. My little guy was glued to every page, pointing out the pups and pretending to help them save the alien friend.
The illustrations are bright and engaging — exactly what you’d expect from a Paw Patrol book. The alien character was a big hit too. It’s not the deepest story in the world (as you’d probably guess), but at this stage, it doesn’t need to be. It gave us a good excuse to curl up together for some reading time before bed, and any book that can hold my toddler’s attention start to finish is a win in my book.
Would recommend to any parents with little Paw Patrol fans at home. Bonus points if your kid loves Chase — mine does, so this was basically a rockstar read.
Events just happen with nothing connecting them, making this feel like less of a story than a rough and weak story outline. Pictures are simplistic and fairly boring for the adult reading it to the children. It looks as though the absolute minimum of effort has been expended in making this book. However the colors are bold enough and the subject matter (aliens! PAW Patrol!) exciting enough to hold the attention of some two and three year-old minds. But seek out better books if you can.
I don't know much about beginner readers, but this seems more exciting than Dick and Jane, and comes with 30 shiny stickers!
A #1 Step into Reading Book.
I got a bunch of used books at a yard sale, and this had a flyer in it for Kellogg company Feeding Reading program going on this summer: FeedingReading.com to see Penguin Random House books that are available.
Very unintentionally funny because for some reason the speed of the narration is cranked way higher than any other readalong book we've read, so it was over in like 30 seconds. Even Otto noticed it was "a short story" lol
It was good. My favorite part was when Chase was looking for the alien in a field and says "Melon, melon, space alien, melon". I really like Paw Patrol.
Based on S02E02 "Pups Save the Space Alien." As a bonus, the cover has glitter (to enhance the space beams I suppose) and "shiny stickers" (because those are obviously cooler than normal stickers if the differentiation on the cover is anything to go by). Spy Chase gets center stage rescuing other citizens of Adventure Bay from space bubbles while tracking down the little green alien. Of course, what's a rescue without a reward trip in the space craft after Rocky fixes it. Slightly amusing that the alien thinks the Lookout is another space craft. As a stage 1 "step into reading" book, the story is very simple and easy for young children to follow. If your kid likes Paw Patrol, you probably already know the tale from the TV series anyways.
