Gadget journalist Christie St. John is more geek than chic. But when research for an article she has to write on online dating leads to the bed of the hottest guy she’s ever met, she knows that if the geek is to keep the hottie CEO, she’s going to have to come out of her digital shell.

Tech mogul Joseph Ashton never expected an Internet blind date to end in the best sex of his life. Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart – writing romance. She particularly likes to write dark, emotional stories with alpha heroes who've just got the world to their liking only to have it blown wide apart by their kick-ass heroines.

She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband, the inimitable Dr Jax, two kids, two cats and some guppies (possibly dead guppies by the time you read this). When she's not torturing alpha males and their stroppy heroines, she can be found drinking chocolate martinis, reading anything she can lay her hands on, posting random crap on her blog, or being forced to go mountain biking with her husband.

Awesomeness!!!

The reason I desperately wanted to read this book wasn't because of the cover, though it's a fabulously genius cover, it was because of the title! I unashamedly confess to being a dirty-talk junkie and when a title includes any form or the combination of the words dirty and talk, I'm a goner!

So back to the book. The title set a pretty high expectation prescedent and I hoped it would meet my expectation. When I started I immediately knew I wouldn't have to worry about it. Though it wasn't the filthy dirty I usually prefer it definitely was a sexy read.

The IM conversation and the start of the relationship reminded a lot of how I met my hubby (yes we met through internet) and I was instantly smitten with Jackie Ashenden's humorous, agreeable voice and her main characters.

I loved Christie! She made it onto my fave heroines list with her witty humor, her straightforwardness and her down-to-earth look on life. She's also has bouts of self-doubt caused by her inconsiderate awful family, especially her mother, but it never got all woe-is-me and I loved that about her.

Joseph was yummy. Period.
He's blunt and bossy in a sexy way and he knows and acknowledges his flaws. He has ADHD issues but doesn't let that impede him in his going after what he wants, whether in business or pursuing his attraction to Christie.

Both main characters had their flaws, they certainly weren't perfect and ironically that's what made them perfect in my eyes, because I adore flawed characters especialwhen they are well-written, show their vulnerability and I can relate to them in many ways.

One thing puzzled me a bit: Joseph "met" Christie in an online game forum on one of his employees's computer and chatted with her a second time using said employee's handle...Later in the story Joseph has created a profile of his own but I kept wondering about how he did it the second time as the employee had returned to his computer.

I think I liked this book so much because it touched so many aspects of my own life. Not literally of course, it's fiction after all, but it had more parallels than any other contemporary romance I've ever read. This made me very partial to this story and its author.

I also beyond loved the humor in this book. Jackie Ashenden has a very humorous voice laced with a lot of dry wit and I've said it before and will say it again: humor gets me every time! Combine it with sexy and sensuous and I'm a fan for life! I'm so glad I requested this book in exchange for a review. So! Glad! It has made my 2013 favorites for sure!

Fave Scene:
- the interview > awesome turn of events scene
- Joseph's big grovel > so good! LOVED!!

Fave Quotes:
Being at home watching TV or reading a good book was much more interesting than the endless round of socializing Marisa seemed to do.

Sex with Greg [note from reviewer: ex-boyfriend] had been...well, comparing that with her experience with Joseph was like comparing an original master to a copy painted by apes and then photocopied one million times.

Joseph sat back in his seat, composed. As if he hadn't delivered the kind of kiss that made a stone curl its toes. If a stone had toes.

3 What You Get When Two Geeks Connect Stars * * *

I would first like to state as an avid reader of books which have deliciously delectable "dirty talkers"... this to me, was a little bit of bait and switch...For the characters in this book, it was more of a suggestive playing than the out and out, down and dirty, cause you to pant and need to do more laundry talking...

Yes, the set up was them meeting online and our shy geeky gal joking around and saying a few things with the other gamers to suggest she was a hot to trot vixen...and our guy just happened to see the messaging from his employee's computer...and was fixated on it...He decides to respond as the sign on and gives a suggestive response.

These two are connecting and talking during a time when both of them needed some romance and adventure. They met awkwardly but end up being very attracted to each other. They end up doing the deed; her leaving with no real name or information about him as this was just not something this normally shy gal did.

The next part of the story is where they meet again...again, awkward because it has to do with her job. The fella has been thinking of her; she of him and their chemistry cannot be denied. The reasons they met online and were so adventurous are still there and they grow into a friendship/Fbuddies of sorts. They have a few hurdles along the way... but all ends well.

This has all of the makings of a fun read- and yes, there are sexy times...with a usually shy gal coming out of her shell romantically and emotionally. He was good for her/ she for him.

Every once in a while, I try to read a New Adult or Erotica. However, I can't say that I'm always impressed with the books in these genres. So I was quite dismayed to find the MC picturing the hero in "leopard-print
thong, baby oil, and…and a smile", fortunately I soon realised that it was only a joke. Anyhow, I did not expect to like Christie and Joseph as much.

I think these two are best described in the way they view each other:

Christie
"He liked that about her. The hint of an iron backbone beneath her
stutter and her vulnerability. With more confidence, she would be formidable."

Joseph
“Your ability to care. Your loyalty. Your humor. Your excitement. Your enthusiasm. Your
incredible focus. The way you make me feel like the center of the entire universe. You
have so many strengths. So many.”

Initially, it is Christie who is hindered by her lack of self-confidence. But we also see the suave and confident Joseph feel anything but confident when it comes to Christie. And his vulnerability and worry that he might not be good enough for her is really a sweet thing to witness.

In conclusion, this book turned out to be better than I expected. I was expecting the same old angst and unbridled passion, but the story is surprisingly uplifting.

This was a really nice surprise. It was free or maybe .99 cents, but was worth way more. The H and h were really fleshed out and I understood both of them. Their relationship was a lot of fun to watch develop. The steamy times were very steamy! The drama wasn't over the top or caused by others. The H was very casual sexually with women in the past- and did have one night stands too. But he didn't come across as a manwhore and there weren't details all the time or constant reminders. I enjoyed this one a lot! Safety gang safe

2 stars! ** i couldn't even finish it. I read up to fifty precent and then i just had to stop. I was falling asleep while reading! Too many useless conversations between friends that didn't belong in the story, in my opinion. Even the sex parts were so long and so descriptive i forgot they were f#%king! This was especially disappointing because i read the 3rd book in this series and loved it, but this one fell short for me.

I had this book on my to read pile because it featured a geeky girl who was very smart and knowledgeable. I love heroines like that. I was thrilled when I was able to get my hands on an advanced copy of this book.

I really enjoyed it! There is great chemistry between the lead characters and the dialogue is snappy. New Zealand is a favorite setting of mine too!

I excited to keep reading this writer. The book hints that there will be more in the series. Yea!

The book is very good and deals with ADHD in the hero is a compelling way. I really liked the relationship between the couple. They were very much themselves and I always like that. The geek stuff was really fun.

It is a sexy book too.

The book kept itself from being a five star for me because it didn't have some of the depth it could have. I understand for some people why it is a two or three star book. For me it works well because It has a lot of troupes I like and is well written. However, the title is awful. The dirty talk in the book is fun and a good part of the plot but not in the way the title implies. The title is very Harlequin and while I really love some Harlequin books, this book could be more. I understand the heroine's self esteem issue are vital to this plot but I do long for a geek heroine who is not insecure.

Overall, I really liked it and can't wait for more in this series.

A copy of this book was given to me for my honest review.

This book was super hot! Not alot going on other than the relationship in the book and the hero/heroine's struggles, so it was very direct and too the point, didn't make your mind wonder to areas that didn't matter. Author did a great job keeping focus and making the relationship steamy, the problems and their issues were wrapped up once they came to light and you never thought this couple wouldn't end up together. No cheating, which is my big A++, not even another woman or man at play other than our two main characters.
The sex was very well written, hot and off the charts! Not overly done or done too quick. I liked that the heroine was quirky and nerdy, but not overplayed.
Great book, totally recommend for a quick read inbetween those angsty, die hard books.

I have to say that I find Jackie Ashenden’s hero’s fascinating. They are so real in terms of the way they think and interact with the world. Like Finn in her earlier release, this heroe is an alpha with a soft gooey centre. Joseph has a secret that he believes makes it impossible to sustain a relationship.
Christie simply doesn’t fit anywhere in her families world so has made her own surrounded by gamers and geeks who accept her without thought because she is one of them.
When they meet, the chemical combustion is incredible, but the real story starts when they begin to interact outside the bedroom. And no I don’t mean in the bathroom and the hallway and so on.
Here we have two messed up people who need something no one else can give them. I just loved watching the dynamic between the two.
I loved how they interacted right from the first instance of talking dirty in an internet chat room, flirting in the safety of an anonymous environment.
I loved the way they both stretched each other to do more and be more.
I loved the way they became better because of each other.
I loved the way they fixed up when they made mistakes.

Oh yeah. Better mention the whole got an ARC for an honest review thing. I actually nagged the author to death for the privelage of reviewing this book cos I loved Falling for Finn so much. It's all about the heroes.

My main problem in this story was Christie. I just felt like she was so weak and I couldn't take it. I just wanted to grab her by the shoulders, shake her and yell, "STOP BEING SUCH A WUSS!" I don't know if other people will have such a strong reaction as I did but I'm not a timid person and I would never let my family continually treat me like shit without speaking up and I would never say to a guy,

My second 3 ⭐️ book from this writer. I guess there’s a pattern and overall her books haven’t been sitting well with me.

This one seemed to be her most popular. I now finally know what it means to not have any monologue, and only dialogue in a book. It feels like the characters just don’t shut up and keep yapping the most uninteresting, yawn worthy non-dialogue.

The h is a techie geek working for a magazine. She’s looking for her big cut with a research article on online dating. She meets Joseph the H, via a chat room. That initiating chat btw was pretty dreadful. This is extremely rude and offensive to say but an older writer can really NOT write chat room dialogue. It was gag inducing and I still kept reading to see what all the hullabaloo was about.

The book picks up then. The h and H meet. And then meet again when the h has to interview someone important through work. Guess who the VIP is!

They develop a cute relationship. The H is incorrigible. He hotly pursues the h, riling her up with his sexy teasing and touching. That part was pretty darn hot.

But alas yet again, the H kinda turns flowery as the book progresses. A little too soft and concerned like your oldest girlie bff. There is a point where the h has a family reunion and he’s trying to be Uber rude to put her parents in their place and tell them how their daughter deserves their praise and how talented she is. Yeah that “man”.

Some more hot sex follows with declarations of love. While the characters connected incessantly, if I was their friend I’d want out of their group. The h was sweet, but she’d been in a few relationships. The H was certainly alpha until he derailed towards the end. This book could’ve done with a lot less words and scenes.

If you appreciate more modern romance, no hooks or strings attached, you would appreciate this book.

Christie is a tech journalist and more comfortable online whether it's chatting, gaming, instead of in real life. Crowds make her nervous. She's assigned a dating article and so takes a chance to ask a guy out whom she was sending flirty, sexy chats with.
Joseph is the head of his own tech company. He's doing well for himself. He also has ADHD and at times gets obsessed with certain things and is forgetful of others. He also has to be doing something.
Anyway, they met and sparks flew. They have a memorable one night stand. Later, they meet again at a product launch. They hadn't shared names, so Christie is surprised to see the guy she can't stop thinking about is none other than Joseph Aston, the CEO.
Two nights become three, etc. It was nice that two geeky people "get" each other and fall for the other just as they are. Joseph gives Christie the courage to stand up to her non-supportive and be-littleing family. Christie helps Joseph realize that he is worthy of a relationship.

Making my way through Jackie’s back catalogue and discovered this trilogy. I loved Joseph and Christie. As always, Jackie makes her characters very real with her inclusion of factors which affect them such as the AD/HD and unsupportive families. Fabulous story development with a H/h who charmed me from the beginning. Their relationship felt real and I was so wanting them to get to their happy ever after. I loved the scene where Christie gave her family both barrels and I loved how Joseph supported her. Jackie incorporates humour, romance, intelligent dialogue and characters with sexy and erotic love scenes. What’s not to love? It’s interesting to see the writer’s growth as well. I’ve just read ‘The Debt’ and it’s just fabulous. Her skill with plot and character development is matched with her wonderful artistry with words and she makes the whole process look effortless. 🤗

Review posted at http://fictionvixen.com/review-talkin...

Seems like I have a thing for heroes who like to dirty talk in my romance, in fact I’ve been on a bit of a smut talking glom lately. When offered a chance to review Talking Dirty with the CEO I jumped at the chance. The premise was interesting, a geeky, not so chic heroine who accidentally engages the rich owner of a tech company in some online naughty chatting, which leads to an internet date, which leads to some hot sexy times. Yes, please!

Christie St. John is a journalist for a tech magazine who enjoys her online gaming, Star Trek marathons and tech crazy lifestyle. She prefers concert tees and doc martens to dressing up and likes her laid back life, but still feels like she has something to prove to her society loving family. When her boss assigns her an article on online dating she has no idea where to start, she’s not a femme fatale. In fact her last relationship ended with her boyfriend cheating with the blonde bimbo in his office. After having a slightly naughty conversation in a chat window with a fellow gamer she decides to set up a date and use the experience for her article.

Joseph Ashton is the owner and CEO of a tech company. His ADHD has caused him many problems through his life, but it has also given him the drive to be successful and the restless energy to compete in the ever changing technology industry. When he catches one of his employees engaging in a sexy conversation in a chat room he carries on the role and is quite taken with the naughty girl online. He and Christie, aka Studman500 and Naughtygirl25, meet for drinks, knowing nothing of each other, and figure out that they have all kinds of chemistry. They can’t keep their hands off each other and the evening ends with the hot CEO and the geeky girl having a sexy time on the bathroom counter. What starts out as a one night stand soon turns into an ongoing relationship when Joseph can’t keep Christie off his mind. Looks like the CEO and the tech girl just might be perfect for each other.

This was a cute read. Not overly sexy or angsty, but cute. I had certain expectations going in with the title, but ended feeling like this romance was more sweet than sexy. The dirty talking wasn’t really dirty and the romance was more on the lighter side. I don’t have a lot of experience with ADHD and that was essentially the main conflict between these characters. It seemed a little far fetched that Joseph would let that ruin he and Christie’s relationship, especially after they have already formed a bond and have come to mean something to each other. The excuse of “I’ll eventually grow bored with you and leave you like I do everything else” just didn’t work for me, it felt forced and the ending a bit too dramatic for the storyline. I think my expectations of a sexier read led to my slight overall disappointment. Dirty talking with the CEO is perfect for fans of a lighthearted contemporary romance, just not anyone looking for a more dirty, intense read. Final Grade: C

Favorite Quote:

“You deserve someone richer. Kinder. Someone who’ll never let you down. Who’ll never hurt you. Christ—” he gave a short laugh “— you deserve a man who can at least concentrate for more than ten seconds at a time.”

“Joseph–”

“But the thing is, you won’t find a man who loves you as much as I do.”

História bem fofa. Pelo titulo, eu pensava que iria ser livro voltado pro lado mais erótico da coisa, mas ele é mais fofo que qualquer outra coisa. Tem umas boas sex scenes, mas a história não gira em volta disso. Graças a Deus! haha

__________________________________________________________________________

Cute history. At first I thought I would be an erotica book, but it turn out to be more sweet than anything.. There are good sex scenes, yes, but the history do not revolves around it. Thank God! hehe

We have The CEO, Joseph Ashton, an IT genius, handsome and rich guy, but his ADHD has caused problems in the relationship area of his life. You see, he has an habit of pushing people away, 'cause he's afraid of hurting them when "he gets bored with their company". He only 3 people he couldn't do it is his sister and his friend Caleb and Luke.

Christie St. John is a sweet geek girl who works at a magazine reviewing computer games. She also has selfesteem problems. She didn't fit in her perfect family; they don't care about her likes and dislikes or her accomplishments in the area she likes to work.

These two people meet at an on line chat, an set up a real date. Naughtygirl25 meets Studman :D And boy, they have chemistry together. But both of them with their insecurities push one another away, first Christie, and when she gets courage to face her feelings, Joseph runs away...

There's nothing new on the plot, but the author did a good job and the reading was nice and sweet. Together, Joseph and Christie are funny, sweet and complete each other in a deep way, and we can feel it. It's a light book you can read between dramatic ones. It'll make you imagine things to do with your Ugg boots :D

This was a really cute story. We have Christie, who is a tech writer and a bit of a shy geek. She stutters when she gets nervous, and she's really into gaming. And we have Joseph, who has ADHD and is CEO of a prosperous tech company. They meet when Joseph sees her chatting in a gaming chat room on one of his employees' computers. They strike up a conversation and he's intrigued. They meet in person, have instant chemistry, have mind-blowing sex, and she runs away. He doesn't even know her real name. But, as luck would have it, she is given the plum assignment of interviewing Joseph for the tech magazine she works for. Until she got to the convention, she had no idea the Joseph she would be interviewing was THE Joseph from her hot one-night-stand. And Joseph isn't about to let her run away this time. So this starts a sort of delicate dance: Christie thinking he can't possibly be really interested in her (because her family are assholes and basically found fault with everything she ever did) and Joseph not understanding why he's so drawn to her and trying very hard not to get attached. And then Joseph pushing her away because he doesn't want to hurt her, as he's so certain he'll do because of his ADHD. Or really, it's because he's scared people will leave him like his mom did, so he pushes most people away before he can care too much. Only it's already kinda too late with Christie. It all works out (he does some impressive groveling), and I got my HEA, which makes me a happy reader.

Based on the "Talking Dirty" part of the title, I figured I'd have to like it. But I also thought it could go the other way for me considering it had "The CEO" in the title as well. Millionaire/Billionaire playboy heroes aren't my favorite type of hero, but I figured I'd give this one a shot because it just sounded so good. And I'm glad I did. The wealth of the hero wasn't overdone--the most we see is his rare and awesome stereo system, lol. And his playboy/promiscuous side was mentioned but not thrown in our face. Joseph was far from being a dominant, arrogant, show-off. He was funny and sweet and deeply insecure.

Our heroine, Christie, was also another big factor in making this book a winner for me. She was smart, she was funny, she was quirky and she wasn't the cliched, most beautiful, poised, stunning temptress, desired by all who gazed upon her. She had as many insecurities as Joseph and that's how conflict arises. No "bad guys" or other women... just two people who can't help but letting deep-seated fears and insecurities block them from believing in themselves and each other.

This was a quick, fun and sweet read for me. I'll most likely go back for a re-read because I loved these two characters.

For this review and more my blog

Talking Dirty with the CEO is normally my kind of book. It has a great storyline, it is set in a great city (Auckland) and it has geeky nerd stuff in it which is exactly my kind of thing. But in the end this didn’t quite do it for me.

I found most of the story quite sweet and I loved how the romance built but in the end it felt like the characters were putting roadblocks in the way of the relationship just because they could. It got a little tiresome, especially because Joseph’s issues seemed to come from nowhere.

I quite liked the characters, Christie was a little too passive for my taste, I normally like my characters with a little more backbone but she didn’t annoy me too much. Joseph was hard to dislike he was sweet, sexy and smart.

The writing was of a fairly good standard and there were some nice moments but it got a little out of hand at the end and I felt the drama was a little over done.

Nope

Christie POV

Oh...how can you really like me? I am just a gorgeous green eyed, slender, russet silk hair, alabaster skinned girl. Mommy made me insecure, but I am what 25 now and never had a compliment before in my life? Even though I have this totally kick ass girlfriend called Marisa (book 3, it is better than this one) who keeps pumping up my confidence.

No, I will find my real strength when you my gorgeous man Joseph will say I am perfect. Only then will I find myself good enough to stand up to my family and feel great about myself. No, I don't care what message that sends to other women. The fact that you can only be a confident woman when your man says so. No.. Ugh. (not Ugg)

Still don't believe me? Hear me roar:

'You made me believe in myself. I could never have faced them if it hadn’t been for you.'

'You’re strong and brave and beautiful. You’re perfect.

Just words. Just one man’s belief. And yet they’d given her a strength that all the steel-capped Doc Marten boots in the world couldn’t.'

I really liked the story. I did not like Christie's mother at all I felt sorry for her. There is nothing wrong with women who like video games.

Christie isn’t that great when it comes to dating or men in general. She’s that girl that enjoys lounging and playing online games rather than actual going out and joining society. When a little banter online turns into sexy talk Christie lets out a more playful side of her personality. Throw in the sudden need to write an article for the tech magazine she works for on internet dating, and Christie takes the plunge to meet her chat room buddy for a night cap.

Joseph is the tech genius who happens across a chat taking place on an employee computer. Bored with life, he decides to play along for a bit. But that playful banter is holding his attention and he can’t stop thinking about Uggs. So when he gets the green light to meet his naughty girl in the flesh, Joseph is willing to give it one night. But he never expected her to run out on him right after and he certainly didn’t expect the need to chase her.

Okay so here we go. Let me start of by saying that there were parts of this story that I really liked. Both Joseph and Christie were likable, they had great chemistry and even the chase was fun to watch unfold.

But where this lost me was at a few key elements. Dirty talk. Zilch. Now I get the slightly PG-13ish chat might count towards a bit of naughtiness, but for me, nope. Not going to work. Dirty talking requires the use of certain words, during sexual situations... and when the most commonly used words do not appear in this story at all, it just misses the mark. Then there was the issue that Joseph had that caused him to back off... now, I get that there can be extremes when dealing with this certain issue – but the whole idea that this was his “issue” was too much of a stretch for me.

Had those few things not bothered me so much, I think I could have seen myself enjoying this story. I loved the idea of the geeky girl getting the hot, rich guy that she never thought would give her a second look. In the end I settled just under 3 stars because as much as I did enjoy the book – I just didn’t get the book.

(from Goodreads):

Gadget journalist Christie St. John is more geek than chic. But when research for an article she has to write on online dating leads to the bed of the hottest guy she’s ever met, she knows that if the geek is to keep the hottie CEO, she’s going to have to come out of her digital shell. Tech mogul Joseph Ashton never expected an Internet blind date to end in the best sex of his life. Yet as the chemistry between him and Christie burns out of control, he can't help but think this woman is out for his money like all the rest. She claims she wants his heart instead – but that’s the one thing he can never give.

Such a refreshing story this was, funny, geeky, passionate and rewarding.
I really didn't know what to expect, I've read the story line and liked the sound of it, but never in my wildest dreams I would have thought that it was with an online chat room that this romance would start.

This book grabbed me from the start and the more I read it, the more I wanted to read. It was full of up's and down's, the more Christie ran the more I wanted her to stop and as close as Joseph got to the true attraction in his heart, the true feeling that he never admitted till a point he had to step down and surrender, the more I cheered for both of them.

Christie was a character that I understood well. Her loneliness, her fear of loving and not being loved, the rejection of those close to her and her indecision in seeing herself in hole new light, were all symptoms of someone that really needed help to rise above her lonely life and move forward with confidence.
She was a great partner to Joseph and I loved every moment that she kept me company while I was reading the book.

Now Joseph was a present that I unwrapped page by page, a billionaire with a lack of personal life, a lifestyle based on a no commitment basis, it should be hard to live alone your whole life and never really connecting with anybody.
His health condition turned me moody and the fact that his past was tragic broke my heart.
But when he meets Christie another man comes out of the box, and boy what a man that is.

Christie's and Joseph's love is hot, a passion burning in the night and the sex was so delicious, hot hot, their connection had a lightning effect, a light that made me smile all the way to the end.
Even when the road had a down turn between them I never took it against Joseph and knew that he couldn't make it without her.

So, for wraps, in a few words read this book.
It's a wonderful romance and a great author, you won't regret it.

Christie St John is a geek! She loves nothing more than playing computer games and going on online tech forums. I did wonder why Christie chose her online name of 'NaughtyGirl' for a tech site though?! Christie is a Journalist for a Tech Magazine, she loves all things tech. I liked Christie. She's very insecure all thanks to her horrible mother who has belittled her most of her life. Christie feels like her mother, father and brother have no interest in her so she rebels a bit by wearing Doc Marten boots and has a love of heavy metal music!

Joseph Ashton is a Tech mogul. He's also very rich and very handsome. Whilst in his office waiting to speak to one of his staff who has left his desk to take a phone call, Joseph notices the guy is logged into an online forum. His forum name is Studman and he has been chatting with Naughtygirl. Intrigued, Joseph ends up chatting away to Naughtygirl and their chat gets flirty. When his employee returns, Joseph quickly closes down the chat leaving Naughtygirl wondering what happened. But she needn't have worried as Joseph is soon back in touch and having being given the task of writing an article on online dating, Christie/Naughtygirl asks Studman out on a date! Once Studman confesses he isn't the real Studman, he comes up with the name LoveMachine and he certainly lives up to his name!

I did find the beginning of the story quite predictable and some parts far fetched. Christie doesn't recognise the Studman from her date with the CEO she knows as Joseph Ashton? That aside, I really enjoyed this story. These two are good for each other. Joseph gives Christie the confidence and helps her believe in herself and stand up to her awful family. The more time they spend together the more they find they have in common. What started as an agreement between the pair to be a one off soon leads to more but Joseph is holding something back about himself from Christie and it is something that if he lets it, could destroy their new relationship.

I have never read about a hero with Joseph's condition so I applaud the author for her originality with that plotline. At the beginning it seems as if Christie is the insecure one but as the story progresses we find out that Joseph has his own insecurities and they made me want to give him a hug. He's a lovely character.

We read that Joseph has two best friends. I'm hoping the author is going to write their stories and I'm pretty sure one of them may be suited to Joseph's lovely sister who features in this story.

The moment I read the blurb for Talking Dirty with the CEO I knew I had to read it, so I signed up for an ARC of the book from Entangled Publishing.

This was a fun read. Right away it opened with sizzling dialogue...and I just loved the premise. I instantly liked Christie. She's an "every-girl" heroine. I think there is something about her we can all relate to.

As for Joseph...I can sum him up in one word. YUM! I liked his quick wit and the fact that he struggled with ADHD.

Together this pair was dynamite. They both had issues with their families that they helped each other overcome. There were several scenes throughout the story that I really enjoyed. I think my all time favorite scene was the bike riding scene. Joseph, an avid non-couch potato took Christie, an avid game-playing-couchie, out on the bike trails. He had a little fun with her by pushing her to the limit, but she didn't back down. That was the moment I truly felt like we got to know Christie's determination and saw more of Jospeh's playful side. They really balanced each other throughout the entire story and I liked that.

And I won't spoil it, but I loved the way the book ended...so similar to how it started. Nicely done Jackie Ashenden!

I've added it to my "keeper" list...which means it'll be a story I revisit again for sure.

A happenstance encounter in an online gaming chat room begins the wild relationship between Christie St. John and Joseph Ashton in Talking Dirty with the CEO by Jackie Ashden. Expecting to go out and have a good time, neither expects to start the torrid affair that follows.

I liked both characters, and Christie and Joseph embody the idea that opposites attract. Christie, a shy heiress more comfortable sitting on the couch playing video games as she listens to goth music while Joseph is a confident CEO of his technology firm is an avid outdoorsman. The book provides an interesting story on how the two very different personalities merge to find common interests. The one issue with the book is that Joseph’s biggest insecurity, what he considers to be his biggest flaw, is not really a flaw and he has spent his whole life holding back from relationships because of it. That issue aside, it was a creative storyline and fun to see such opposite personalities interact.

I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.

So here I go:
"Talking Dirty With the CEO" was an okay read. I really wanted to like but I just couldn't. The whole story line was a bit weak and the characters' dialogue and situations seemed too forced at times.

I literally felt that the whole precipice of this read was directly taken straight out of a storybook. I mean, geeky journalist publishes an online article that ends up into a steamy encounter with a sexy CEO mogul and the man of her dreams?? Doesn't sound so plausible to me.

Joseph likes to always bring up those pleasant memories, “what? You mean apart from the fact that Liz just introduced you?” Joseph folded his arms. “Well, here’s a reminder. You on the bathroom vanity. Me inside you while you screamed in my ear.” Joseph beloved him, he can be stupid at times but he always realized after awhile his stupidity, “when I said that stuff about me getting bored, that was an excuse,” he said hoarsely. “I don’t think I could ever get bored with you.” I liked this book.
