The Walsh Collection: Books 3 & 4

Rate this book
Meet the Walshes. They're smart, sexy, seriously funny, and all kinds of alpha.

Book 3: Necessary Restorations

They liked to call me names. Manwhore. Slut. Player. But I make wrong look so right...

He's a flawed perfectionist...
She's wildly independent...
The one thing they have in common is a rock-solid disregard for the rules. They find more in each other than they ever realized they were missing, but they might have to fall apart before they can come together.

It's the wrongs that make the rights come to life.

Book 4: The Cornerstone

A tough-as-nails businesswoman. An arrogant Navy SEAL. A power struggle with no end in sight.

Some people hook-up at weddings. Others break a hotel room bed (and a table, and a desk, and some complimentary bathrobe belts) and discover they've been surviving on bargain basement orgasms their entire lives.

The last one? Yeah. That's all me.

She's driven and demanding...
He's never walked away from a challenge...
They're wrong for each other in every possible way...
Or are they?

Got alpha men, strong amazing women. Amazing stories, strong family dynamics, lots of giggles. There wasn't anything about either of these books that I didn't like! I can't wait for more!!

NECESSARY RESTORATIONS:
Sam and Tiel were interesting characters right from the start and that made the book so.enjoyable. Sam he's quite the character blunt, aggressive at times (in a good way) and he's totally pervy I loved all of him, "Why the eff did we sleep on the floor?" Sam asked, his arms clutching my waist and his head resting on my belly." He's quite a bossy man, "I clearly recall telling you not to go anywhere. Get your sweet a** in the car so I can take you home." I thought Tiel was perfect for Sam she balanced him out, "I want to hang out with you," she said simply. "And have ridiculous arguments about irrelevant things, and long talks about random stuff, and laugh with you all the time. I want you staring at my boobs and saying pervy things, and then doing all those pervy things." I enjoyed this book I loved these characters.

THE CORNERSTONE:
The text messages Shannon and Will exchange are just not normal at times:
"Will: Hold on. You were watching porn and you didn't call me? How many movies have we watched over the phone together? At least 10
Will: You can call me when that Eurotrip movie is on but you can't call me for PORN?
Will: I expect a call when porn is involved."
Will just has all sorts of problems, "yes, she is, but I'm not here because…okay, yeah I'm here for her," I said. "My last mission went to ***t, my arm is fucked up, and I'm thinking hard about retirement. On top of that, I left things in shambles with my girlf—err, my Shannon, when I saw her before this deployment. Come back and she's dating a d****ebag." I love this series but this was my favorite book out of it, Will is all alpha.

2nd two Walsh sibling's stories - Sam & Teil and Shannon & Will - Must Read
This is the 2nd set of the Walsh Series
If I wasn't already in love with the Walsh family, then I totally am now!
The 1st book in this bundle is Sam & Teil's Story
He is a perfectionist and serial manwhore. It isn't until he meets Teil Desai in the most unusual way that everything begins to change for Sam. These two are so much fun to read about with all their quirks and issues. Sam & Teil are total opposites but obviously what both of them need. You get to see how they go from just-friends to lovers, but can they overcome their past to make this work? I have to say that Sam is my favorite Walsh brother and his story made me laugh then made me cry. This book deals with so many issues close to my heart & I loved the roller coaster ride this romance took me on between the Walsh family dynamic in the background to the budding romance to the breaking point that will have you in tears...this book is so worth reading and if you weren't hooked before, you will be now.

The 2nd book in this bundle is Shannon & Will's Story
She is the only one in the family that is not an architect, but she is a lawyer and real estate agent and all-around jack-of-all-trades of the family business. She takes no crap from anyone and takes care of EVERYTHING for the ones that she loves. What is left for Shannon? She meets Lauren's brother at their wedding and she goes head to head with Will, an arrogant Navy Seal. They have this push-pull attraction that turns each other on to no end and is a super hot romance. I couldn't put this book down and I loved every minute of the battle of wills and couldn't wait to see how this relationship was going to turnout. Each book in this series just get better & better. This book is so worth the best ending of all 4 books! I can't wait for more of the Walsh family!!!!

First book took me forever and even with years of distance since I last picked it up, I found the emotional beats of the last half abrupt. I think I fell off this series because I found Tiel's social/family issues hard to contextualize and they felt unaddressed by the end of this. Canterbary is far more interested in the boy's issues and yet those felt less surmountable to me and suddenly became very extreme. Appreciate the effort not the execution.

Second book much better than the first, but still a little obnoxious. As always, Canterbary has the intent with her character work, just not always the complexity or the follow-through. I found Will and Shannon's relationship far more interesting than the others, but found the way they interacted at turns fine and too much. The verbal sparring felt juvenile while the smut felt really filthy. Smut was great and there was a lot of it, but these two never felt like adults or like people not made up for a funny modern romance. I also found the Walsh brothers more obnoxious than ever before. Canterbary is upping their childishness factor here to emphasize Shannon's evolution, but this still felt like it laid on the humor too thick. What I will say for the second book is that Canterbary is best at writing her female characters realistically and consistently. I still think too much is left unresolved with both Shannon and Tiel's trauma throughout, but the healing of it through the romances is handled well.

Absolutely will not be continuing the series and taking so long to read this, I do wonder why I liked it so much initially. Helps that the first one was free, I suppose.

Your crazy if you didn't fall in love with the Walsh Family so far!!

Sam and Tiel....Just when you think you can't love another Walsh, you do and you fall in love with Tiel because she's just so weird, true to herself, loves so selflessly, takes care of Sam and doesn't mind Riley!!

Will and Shannon...The Alpha and Omega of the bunch. The Ying to her Yang. The Mighty have fallen and it was beautiful to see

The Walsh Collection 2 is another fabulous addition to the Walsh Series! It contains Necessary Restorations and The Cornerstone, both of which are definite 5 star reads. Kate Canterbary wrote these incredible stories with so much passion and heart. The characters experience many ups and downs and emotional turmoil and as the reader, I felt every emotion right along with them. And while these 2 stories are definitely emotional, they are also hilariously funny and very sexy. Canterbary knows how to make the reader get all hot and bothered! Add this compilation to your collection----it's one you won't soon forget!

Heartfelt

These first two books in the Walsh series are a wonderful introduction to this amazing family. The Walsh's are smart and sexy, vulnerable and needy, and very intriguing. The damage done to them in childhood effects them all profoundly, sticking together as adults is their strength.

I. Could. Not. Get. Through. This. Book. I read the first and second in the series, and while they were actually well written and funny, I got borrrrred about half way through each one. I mean, I honestly didn't even care how either ended... So perhaps if they were shorter, I'd have loved them... But blah.
