Hello everyone. If you haven't guessed by now I have a passion for words and have numerous books published in a variety of genres and lengths, in addition to short story anthologies with other authors in the Mind's Eye Series.
Several of my stories are also included within several box sets with Paper Gold Publishing.
I cannot ignore my dreams, so many of them, with names and places and ideas that spark my imagination and compel me to write; to create stories, whether fantasy or horror, or mystery or psychological thriller or murder or even humour and adventure. So, my garden is sown, flourishing, with all manner of growth, and still the dreams come.
Julie Elizabeth Powell, my soul lingering within my imagination; maybe you’ll join me?
Weird: A Henry Ian Darling Oddity: Missive Three by Julie Elizabeth Powell
In this third installment of the Henry Ian Darling series, Henry is haunted by dreams. The weird dream takes him to the Shadowlands. But he can't figure out what Brett has to do with all of this, and he is going to try to find out.But Ms. Peabody has plans, will they work ? Will Henry survive this quest? Will all his questions be answered?
A fast paced enjoyable read. Henry is back, with all his oddities and up for a new challenge. He is very likable, the dialog is funny, the plot is original. Told through Henry's voice, I really got pulled into the story.
I truly love Henry with all his unique "quirkiness". I must admit he is probably one of my favorite fictional characters, ever! I highly recommend Weird: A Henry Ian Darling Oddity: Missive Three to all.
I enjoyed this book as much as the previous books in the series, maybe even a little more. This series seems to get progressively better. The best thing about this book (and the series) are the characters. Even though this would not be a book I typically go for, the characters really bring the book to life and really make me care about what happens to them. The characters make me want to continue reading the series. I listened to the Audible audio version and had a hard time with the narrator in the first book, but I have finally gotten used to his speech. Its kind of like how one overlooks a certain irritating quirk in a friend because you care for them. This is how I feel about the narrator because I've really come to care about the character.
Having read the first two "oddities" in this series, I was keen to read Missive Three. Henry Ian Darling is an interesting character. The stories in this series are very fast-paced and written as if the character is narrating his adventures. In Missive Three we find out more about Henry's ghost friend Brett.
Henry has a dream that leads him to Shadowlands. It's a treacherous journey that he must take.
The books in this series are a fun read, and always full of surprises. I think "Weird" is a good way to describe the adventures. I'll be looking forward to Missive Four.
