Patrick's car breaks down on a deserted byway and he walks to a nearby gas station where he crosses paths with a very attractive twink who offers to help him, but things aren't always what they seem.
Rest Stop has a Twilight Zone meets Roswell vibes in it but it was just way too short so really, there's no way for me not to spoil everything if I were to say another thing about it.
I loved that the author changed the cover (the initial cover was of a twink with his bum on display for all the world to see and the title– the one that I initially downloaded from Smashwords was called Rest Stop Twink) so kudos to that and for changing the title as well.
Not one Erasmus's better short stories. The flow was somewhat erratic, and the transitions trite. The plot was cliche and the twist predictable. This work is barely credible as high school creative writing. All that said, I can immagine some being far less critica,l or with much lower expectations. Therefore, I give 2 stars - barely.
