Very intriguing and oh so good. I've forgotten how much talent this woman has in writing erotic stories. She did not waste time into sucking me into this book. Right from the get go, I got a sense that things aren't what they appear to be, and that Harper McFadden are in for some surprises. Jacob Latimer...I'm dying to know what his deal is. There's definitely a big thing that he's hiding and I can't wait to find that out.

Make Me Forget is the first book in an eight-part serial, so yes, you'd have to wait a bit to get the full story. But I'm not complaining since this writer knows how to write serials. And by that, I mean, she knows where to end things and where to start it off. She knows when to give and when to withold, just enough to keep you guessing and wanting more.

His humanity . Raw sexuality twined with something she could only call a sweetness, impossible as that descriptor seemed given the rest of the package . It was the mystery of that paradox that had her tantalized. But she’d have to be careful.”

Intriguing!!!! This is the first word that comes to mind when describing Make Me Forget, the first serial installment by Beth Kery. Ms. Kery has perfectly and intricately laid out a story that piqued my interest as she introduces Harper McFadden, a young investigative journalist, who recently left her job in San Francisco to take up residence in Lake Tahoe as an editor for a local newspaper. Harper wants to forget her past, her pain, and the loss of her parents and hopes her time in Lake Tahoe will help clear her mind.

#MakeMeForget

As Harper was taking in her new residence, she never expected to run into a young mysterious man and his lovable big pup. They exchanged a few pleasantries with each other but nothing serious. On her first day, Harper gets an exclusive personal invitation to a cocktail party hosted by Jacob Latimer. Harper knows very little of Jacob and is shocked as to why she was invited. At the party, she soon discovers that the man she met at the lake is Jacob Latimer.

Jacob Latimer is a self made man. He leads a secretive life and wants to forget things of his past. And with Harper, she became the distraction that he needs. Together Harper and Jacob can forget things of the past. But what does Harper and Jacob really want to forget?

photo 3da2ace1fd2aa5a74292558f0e0d44_zps19eucevs.gif “I mean that you want to forget so many things. I can help you forget , Harper. You can help me forget some things, too. Maybe that’s why you came back.”

I love the premise of this serial and can’t wait to discover what secrets will be unraveled in the next installment. Make Me Forget was sexy, mysterious, and had that Beth Kery signature of intrigue. So if you are a fan of serials, I definitely would recommend you to check out this book.

This is only part one of serial but I’m completely hooked…me, someone who is not a fan of serial reads…especially one planning on becoming eight parts but Beth Kery’s writing shines through.

Harper left her past behind in search of a less stressful life finds herself in the sites of Jacob, a man with a press crucified past. Harper was a journalist so why is Jacob even considering letting her get close?

Electrifying passion sparks in the fast, enjoyable read. Much like the serial tv shows, there is just enough to really pull you in only to leave you waiting for the installment.

For a super short, fast read I love the setup and the start of the plot for this book. But the author draws you in, gives you one great steamy, passionate scene and it's pretty much over. How am I supposed to wait for more??

With teasers galore and a smoking Hot billionaire on the loose, we are left hanging for the next installment. Sigh.... At least I can dream a bit knowing that more of Jacob is to come.

The author did a great job creating some intrigue so that you want to pick up the next one. I really wish that it would have been a full book. Even if it was just a novella it would have been better than just being over.

This is the first I have read from Beth Kery, but I can tell she knows how to write a story that will suck you in and tie you up! Good intro to what should be a great book.

This first installment of the Make Me series was dark and mysterious and pure Beth Kery.

Make Me Forget is not a story to itself, but rather is the beginning of the tale of Harper and Jacob. We get to know these two fascinating people that have secrets and a dark past that weaves them together in ways that Harper does not fully realize. Ms. Kery does a wonderful job of introducing Harper and Jacob, making us care about them individually and together, and I found myself holding my breath when they got together. There is a history between these two strangers and Make Me Forget is the start of an addictive story.

A reserved newspaper editor and a mysterious wealthy entrepreneur with a taste for dominance, the first installment of this series whets the appetite and just made me hungry for more.

Ohhh, you all know I love me a Beth Kery serial series!!! They are just so sexy and enticing, and this is sure to be no different! MAKE ME FORGET is Part One of a new Eight Part Serial from Ms. Kery, and a new one will be releasing each week starting April 5th! I'm always incredibly consumed with Kery's writing. It's so intriguing and seductive and it just makes you tingle all over.

MAKE ME FORGET introduces us to Harper McFaddan and Jacob Latimer. One seeks healing...the other seeks ownership. Right away, you know there is so much mystery packed into this book. And with each new release, I'm expecting to get another piece of the puzzle. In the end I know Kery will give us a revealing that we will never forget.

The author sets us up with a good beginning, an enticing middle, and one hell of an ending. I'm so excited to see how Harper and Jacob's mysteriously sexy story unfolds. If you are a fan of serials, then GET ON THIS! Beth Kery's writing will pique your interest right away, and you can't help but to become addicted.

Book Review: 4 stars
It’s been a while since I read a serial by Beth Kery. I remember loving Because You Are Mine because it was filled with lots of kinky sex, romance and drama that kept me invested the entire time. The new serial, Make Me , promises to be as good as that one I read.

The first book of the series is Make Me Forget. Harper just moved to a new city, actually it’s a small town where she got a new job as editor in one of the local newspapers, and mainly, she is starting all over again, in order to forget. There she met Jacob, a tech billionaire who was very interested in her, in a very obsessive way, I may add—Not that I’m complaining, I love a man like Jacob #BookBoyfriendAlert. He was willing to expose his private life to a journalist, just to get to be close to her. He was willing to lose control with her, in order to take her completely.

In this first installment of the serial, there are some revelations about both characters that added a good plot to the story, but don’t worry, I won’t say spoilers, I just have to say, pay attention to the details. I’m sure they will be very important as the story is going.

I can’t wait to read the next book, thankfully, I won’t have to wait much for it.

Tantalizing start…

I am not a big fan of serials but for this author I had to make an exception. When I know a good story is on offer it’s hard to resist and this first installment has me eagerly wanting more.

Harper McFadden has exiled herself to a small town to regroup and heal. Jacob Latimer is rich and reclusive so when she, a newcomer, is invited to his heavily guarded home she is surprised but curious.

“How could a man as cold and imperious as he’d seemed just seconds ago come off as shy?”

From their first encounter to the next, you can feel the tension building. There is physical attraction, on both sides, but there is more than that between them. Why would Jacob – rich, aloof and very much an isolated figure – reach out to Harper? She is a journalist, a reporter, someone whose very nature wants, and needs, to dig and find the truth. With the unanswered questions about the wealth he has accumulated, why would he open his doors to scrutiny? Oh, the mystery begins…

“Dangerous, a voice in her head insisted.”

Dangerous. Cold. Compassionate. Sexy. There are mixed messages but I can’t deny the sparks that fly between these two. After that final, explosive, beyond sexy scene? No one can deny it!

There are intriguing glimpses of Jacob’s past and a lot more to learn about these two… I can’t wait to find out! ~ Diane, 4 Stars

Very short introduction and a good sampler of what's to come... Pun intended.

Right off the bat you kinda know what the whole story is going to be about: A vulnerable girl, a mysterious kinky billionaire with a past, one is going to submit to the other's dominance and it's going to be a sexy yet contentious story. I'm naturally curious and eager to peel off the layers while wary at the same time. The characters are stereotypes at this point but hopefully they break away from those shells as the story moves forward.

Full Review to be posted The Bookpushers soon:

A sexy and intriguing start to Beth Kery's erotic romance serial. Both leads are engaging and appealing and I loved the opening scene with the rambanctious dog and you got to love a hero who shelters 16 dogs who have their own house. The set up of the romantic suspense element was intriguing although I wished there was more of a romantic tension buildup but the last scene was hawt!

I randomly picked up this from the free library, the writing was fine though nothing special but I am interested to hear more about the character's backstory together.

Dunno why he needed to describe her as creamy more than once within a single sex scene tho... sigh.

Make Me is the newest serial novel from Beth Kery. There are 8 parts to this story with the first part releasing April 5, 2016 and part 8 scheduled to release May 24, 2016. I am not a fan of serial novels, but for me Beth Kery is the exception. Her stories are always so good that I know it will be worth the wait to get the whole story. Luckily I was able to read the whole story at one time, and let me tell you that it is definitely worth the read! Beth Kery never disappoints, and the Make Me serial is another fantastic read from her.

After a tragedy took her parents away from her, Harper McFadden moved from San Francisco to a small town on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Looking for peace, Harper never expected to meet the mysterious Jacob Latimer. Jacob is known for being a successful entrepreneur building his software company up from nothing, but rumors of shady business dealings have left many trying to dig deeper into his past. Jacob knows that the last person he should let near him is Harper, a journalist known for her investigative skills. Yet the connection between Harper and Jacob is more than either of them can fight and they find themselves unable to stay away from each other. But with secrets between them, can Jacob make Harper his or will the truth destroy any chance of a future together?

I really liked both Harper and Jacob. I felt the chemistry and connection between them right away, and with each new piece of information revealed I couldn't get enough of them! There was so much more to each of these characters than you see at first glance, and I really liked getting to know each of them better. Jacob was determined to make Harper his, yet he also knew that she was the one person that could expose everything he has hidden. Harper was looking for peace and healing after losing her parents, yet she was drawn to Jacob right away and couldn't fight the pull she felt to him. These two were great together, and I loved seeing how things played out for them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one from start to finish. I am so glad that I didn't have to wait for the entire story, but let me tell you it is definitely worth it even if you do have to wait. The 8 installments are short and easy to read, and they leave you anxious for more. Jacob and Harper's story was impossible to put down, and I was intrigued right from the start. I don't want to go into details so I don't spoil the story, but I was surprised with all the twists and turns and I had to know what would happen next. Beth Kery is a fantastic writer, and this serial was filled with steam and emotion, as well as mystery and intrigue. I highly recommend this and any of Beth Kery's stories, and I already can't wait for more from her.

This was a fantastic series. I haven't read anything from Beth Kery in a long while so this was a nice treat to get. I received the serial as a complete series, so keep that in mind. They are coming out weekly currently. But again, this review is for the WHOLE serial.

This is an 8 part series with the first having released last week and the last set to release in May.

I love a good serial. I feel that the episodes have to be JUST long enough to really pull you in, but not long enough that you feel like your reading a while book. They should feel like an episode on TV and that is exactly what Beth did with this series. It was perfectly paced.

This serial follows Harper McFadden. She has recently moved from SanFran to Lake Tahoe and is rebuilding her life there. The last thing she thought would run into her life was Jacob Latimer. I swear, after the first meeting you will be happy he ran into it too. This guy was YUM. Okay, but really, he was a complete gentleman and had a GREAT dog. That just about seals it. I love a good guy who is not only nice to look at, but more importantly kind with a good heart. You see that right from the start with him.

Jacob though earnest and sweet, could have a shady past. There have been rumors, and honestly that LAST thing he needs is a reporter getting close to him. What a shame because fate just won't allow Harper not to be a part of his life.

I felt like this wasn't quite a cat and mouse story, but kind of was at the same time. It was a suspense filled romance about accepting each other for who they are, and knowing that you can share your secrets with the right people. I was rooting for this couple from that first meeting. It was Kismet and I wasn't having it any other way.

Plus, some of those scenes will ave you fanning yourself. JUST SAYIN!

My Review:
Make Me Forget is a great book because its not an actual full story, its an accumulation of serial novellas, which I really like because it allows you to enjoy reading on a busy schedule. Kery is great. She creates fantastic stories and she's given us something that many readers like all in one book.

Well the first thing I have to say about Make Me Forget is that it is a book that I will never be able to forget, it is simply amazing!!
Harper McFaddan is all about good and honest news stories, with a couple of troubled years behind her, she is more focused on the future and her career. So when she get a strange request to attend a party being held by no other than the Jacob Latimer, software god, she is confused yet enthralled at the same time.
Jacob Latimer has worked his whole life to be something, his software breakthrough put him on the map and before he knew it he was something as well as someone people wanted to be. Although Jacob has secrets he longs to hide, not just from others but from himself. Inviting Harper to his party not only affected his future but his past as well, and if there is something people who come across Jacob know is he always gets what he wants.
I love this first book in this new series by Beth Kery, I have adored her work for several years now and with every new book I wish there were more like it. I love both Harper and Jacob, not just their characters but their complex issues and pasts, they have both been through rough times but their strong wills shows that it can only make them stronger in the end. This is something I love read about in books, it gives the book its drive and passion not just for the characters but the story as well.
Make Me Forget is a brilliant start to this series, with its passion, hidden secrets and ending that will make you want to read the next book straight away, it is a book series that I know I am going love from start to finish.
If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Amazing, Enthralling and Charming.

I really liked this quick read and beginning to this series by Beth Kery! I'm seriously intrigued by the storyline and I'm salivating for MORE!

In this first installment we start to catch glimpses into the main characters lives. Jacob is mysterious and his past is shrouded in heartache, but it's very clear from the start he's drawn to our heroine in an inexplicable way. Jacob's a contradiction with his unexplained tightened security, his cold prickly demeanor at times, and the show that he has a heart of gold when he opens up just a little bit.

Harper is starting over in a new place, trying to make new friends, start a new job, and forget her past. When suffering tragedy sometimes all we need is someone to make us forget. When Harper comes face to face with a man, who she will soon come to know as Jacob Latimer, software developer and recluse, her intrigue as a report is peeked and her desire as a woman, runs wild.

Beth does a great job of writing just enough intrigue to keep you flipping the pages through the first part of this series, she weaves the current lives of Jacob and Harper together in a lust filled way that makes your heart speed up. Then she adds the hints of Jacob knowing Harper from the past, and leaves you salivating for more information. I can't wait for the second book in this series to see what transpires next!

Harper McFaddan moves to Lake Tahoe and takes a new job as an editor. There are some wealthy people living along the lake. One of them is Jacob Latimer. When he invites her to a gathering at his home, she's floored. She doesn't know a lot about him. Only what she's heard and what her co-worker tells her. When he gets her alone sparks fly. I can't say much without going into detail. But know that it's a great start to this serial.

This book is a very quick read and is book one of a serial. You get to know Harper and Jacob a little, but there is so much more to them both. I can't wait to read what happens in book two. Jacob is very complex and it will be interesting to see how their story unfolds.

This was a fun short and i enjoyed the story, that said it was easily forgettable and i had to recap by reading the synopsis before writing my review. It was incredibly short i read it in 45/90 minutes. i loved the plot line of the meeting on the beach then the meeting at the party and how he thoroughly captivated her and you knew there was a back story somewhere but you didn't work it out until the end leaving you wanting more with the next book. i can not decided between three and a half stars or four for this.

Great beginning with a hero that is a little unusual (he has 16 rescued doggies!). The sexual chemistry was hot (as is always the case with Kery), though it was a little too rushed. Full review coming soon.

I’m still swooning, I think. This is such a beautifully crafted book: well written, beautifully strong and vulnerable characters, complex and thrilling plot, amazing use of setting, and deliciously spicy encounters.

Make Me is an 8 part series (I listened to the complete series on audiobook) that explores a developing relationship between Harper and Jacob. But this isn’t the first time they’ve met. Kery does an outstanding job weaving this incredible complex and interconnected plot, jumping between the present and 20 years prior, whilst also navigating the intricacies of identity, dominance and submission, memory, trauma, and the strength in vulnerability. And some of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read.

A love story, but by no means typical. This is a story of love at first sight, lies, mistakes, missed opportunities, second chances, and happily ever after. It tugs at your heartstrings. It takes you in directions that you never see coming. Charlotte and Travis are both strong, likable characters and the book is told through a dual POV which is nice. Travis especially is a wonderful, caring man. The supporting cast adds layers to the story which will play out in future books, but the success in this book rests simply with Charlotte and Travis and their love for each other.

I don't know how this novella has so many 4/5 star ratings....actually bewildered by this. It reads like it was written by a man who is writing out a fantasy. I found it quite disjointed and all over the place most especially with regards to human interactions and the portrayal of flip-a-switch feelings. Hazy, drug haze quality to the people, uni dimensional even when striving for depth. Very weird and unappealing because of this.
One start because at least it looks to have had an editor at some point...

Make Me is the first of many books in the series. We don't know much because the first installment is very short. But there is enough to keep me interested and reading. She's a journalist escaping a tragedy. He's a playboy millionaire with secrets and he's intrigued by her. They have a few good moments. I will read the second one but will it be enough to keep me reading? We shall see!
