Felsefeye Giriş

Rate this book

His first surname was Temüralp. He changed his surname in court in 1937.

He was born in 1905 in the Hekimhan District of Malatya. He graduated from Sivas High School in 1928. That same year, he passed an exam for those who would study in Europe and went to Germany. In 1929, he took physics and chemistry courses at Göttingen University under the guidance of Geiger. After talking with the student inspector Prof. İzzettin Bey, they decided to study information theory and logic (general philosophy and logic; his own words) in Berlin under Nicolai Hartmann. While working with Nicolai Hartmann, he also attended lectures by psychologist Prof. Köhler, another logician, Prof. Maier, and cultural philosopher Prof. Spranger. He worked intensively in Hartmann's field, namely logic, epistemology, philosophy of history, ethics, and philosophy of nature; again on Hartmann's advice, he took physics and chemistry courses as supplementary subjects. He also attended courses in physiology, experimental psychology, and cognitive psychology, which were considered necessary for epistemology. In addition to Latin, which was required for his doctorate in philosophy, he also learned Greek.

In 1933, he began his doctoral thesis titled “The Limits of Knowledge in Husserl and Scheler” (this title appears in the curriculum vitae he submitted to the faculty). In 1937, he completed his thesis and took his doctoral examination in general philosophy and logic, with physics and chemistry as auxiliary disciplines. This work was published by the University of Berlin. In 1937, he joined the Faculty of Literature at Istanbul University as an assistant in general philosophy and logic. He organized seminars with Ernest von Aster, for whom he also worked as a translator.

In 1942, he became an associate professor with his work entitled “The Place of Nicolai Hartmann in 20th Century Philosophy.”

In 1953, he became a professor and headed the Department of Systematic Philosophy.

In 1959, he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University.

In 1961-62, he worked as a visiting professor at the University of Tübingen.

In 1968, he established the Chair of Systematic Philosophy and Logic.

In 1978, he retired at the age of 70. He passed away in Istanbul in 1984.

Felsefeye giriş yapanadan soğudum 🤣 Teorik ağırlıklı bir kitap. Lisans eğitimi düşünen kişilere hitap ediyor.
