This is the story of Donna and Ted, a young married couple previously mired in sin but now seeking redemption. Both Donna and Ted attended church as children, but they never really felt connected or committed to Christ. They knew about Him and they remembered the Bible stories, but they had never experienced the real Christ.
Ted was openly seeking Jesus after cheating on his wife and then serving time in prison on drug charges. While in prison, he was reintroduced to Christ by a kind visiting chaplain. He knew he needed to change his ways and his efforts to change began before being released.
Donna, a desperately lonely woman who gave her personal temple, her body, to other men while Ted was incarcerated, was much more reluctant. She realized that she still loved her husband and needed to make changes, but she thought that because of her sin she was beyond redemption. She was particularly afraid of being judged by others.
The purpose of the story is to tell sinners the Good News of Jesus. He offers a better way. And it also tells Christians, who are also sinners themselves, that it is their duty to support, not judge, those very sinners seeking help. The book is a quick read and has no chapters, but the message is an important one about God's grace and love.
