3.5 Stars. I've been a Lori Foster fans for a long time. She has a unique way of putting together a story that infuses all of the elements of a romance, with action and suspense and the result is very interesting. Her characters are flawed but their hearts are always so big. They stand up for what's right even when the path is treacherous. Leese and Catalina are no exception to the winning formula.

Catalina is in trouble and Leese is sent to protect her. He takes his role seriously and, at first, fights their attraction. I want to say that I felt the chemistry but to be frank, I didn't feel it as much as I have with other characters of Ms. Foster. Their intimacy was still hot, don't get me wrong, but I just wasn't feeling the connection to the characters on the level that I've found myself engaged in the past. The action was conveyed in a manner that allowed me to form my own imagery of the scenes. The writing was superb, as always. The plot progressed well with perfect timing and transitions. I loved the setup for additional stories/couples and will definitely continue the series. Safety: No others for either, though Catalina flirts with a guy to get some essentials while she's on the run. No rape or abuse.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

This was just an ok read for me. I found it very slow moving for the first half of the book. Usually I love Lori Foster’s work, but I found this missing the sexual chemistry that I know she can write!

This story is book one in the Body Armour series. It is a spin-off from her MMA series, and in this series are the MMA men that decided to leave the sport to be bodyguards at the Body Armour agency!

I’m hoping that book two will be more exciting and have way more chemistry between the main couple! My fingers are crossed!

Cat is on the run from her step-father and his dangerous business 'friends'.
She's been evading all sorts of guys sent after her for weeks, but now she's been found.

Leese, an MMA fighter turned bodyguard, is now working for Body Armor - the bodyguard agency run by Sahara. (Who inherited the company from her brother - but that is another story and might be told one day☺!!)

Leese's been tasked to find Cat and keep her safe.

But it's not easy keeping someone safe who's not telling the whole truth yet about what she's actually running from. And also this insane attraction on both sides might make it a bit harder to concentrate on the job.
But Leese is a professional - his only job is to keep his girl safe....

Lots of very dangerous and sexy reading hours for us to 'suffer' through until those two can ride off into their Happily-Ever-After sunset together! ☺

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO CAT & LEESE???
WiLL THERE BE A HEA???
READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT ☺

I ADORED THIS BOOK!!!

Do you remember Leese from the Ultimate Fighter series? We first didn't like him much, but he changed a lot towards the end, and I was so looking forward to this new series!!!

I reallly loved Cat and Leese!
They were so adorable together - insta-attraction on both sides. Only poor Leese tried to stay strong - he's not supposed to fall for a client! Adorable!

And poor Cat - she's not sure who to trust in the beginning. She's running away from very scary people with lots of influence in many important places.

But Sahara and her boys will protect her with everything they have! And they have a lot! ☺

This was the perfect Romantic Suspense story.

• funny • sexy • adorable • exciting • suspensy •

I loved it!

And I also really loved trainee bodyguard Justice - he'll be the next books' hero!

UNDER PRESSURE was such an adorable and sexy and exciting romantic suspense story! Run to your nearest amazon to have your own body guarded by Leese! ☺

Ready for book #2 now!!! ... Justice! ♥

Any review I've given Foster could probably be cut and pasted here. It started off very promising with a whiff of HelenKay Dimon hero and situation but the attraction started immediately and the story just kind of ho-hummed from there. I liked it but my god have I read this story over and over before.

Full Disclosure: I have been waiting on Leese since the moment he walked onto the page in Denver’s story. Like everyone else, I was looking forward to Armie’s story, but there was always a special place in my heart for Leese. He was the outsider that had screwed up, and even after the others had forgiven him, it never felt like he had forgiven himself. So when I saw he was indeed going to get his own story, I was overjoyed. (My kids may say that’s a gross understatement due to all the times they heard me saying “it’s Leese, omg!!!” once the news was out.) Receiving this ARC was an amazing surprise! Lori Foster has been an auto-buy for years so while I had every confidence that she’d do a fantastic job with Leese, I did wonder if any story could possibly live up to everything I wanted for him.

All that being said; you do not have to have read any of the prior stories or series, to understand everything in this book. While some characters from previous books do pop in, you will not be lost or in the dark about anything. Once you read Leese though, I doubt you’ll want to deny yourself the pleasure of Cannon, Stack, Denver and Armie.

So this is where I can tell you to run, don’t walk, and go get this book!! The moment I got it, even knowing the kids would walk in the door any minute; I opened to the first page and knew I was in trouble. The first paragraph hooked me and I knew I’d be fighting that battle between needing to read as quickly as possible because it’s so awesome…. and forcing myself to go slow so I can enjoy it longer! Finally, I decided I would just have to read it after the kids went to bed. At 9:30 pm, I started over again from the beginning and when I read the last page, I looked up to see it was almost 3 in the morning. So I guess you could say I lost the battle, but I’ve never been so thoroughly content to do so.

Naturally Leese (omg!!) is a sexy as sin, honorable, smart alpha male. He’s a former MMA fighter now a bodyguard, hired to protect Catalina from a threat that’s real but not quite clear at first. She’s not shy about her attraction to Leese, and it was an entertaining watching his attempts to keep her firmly in the client only box. Not a cookie cutter plot storyline, the twists and turns kept the suspense at just the right level.

Justice, from the previous series was a fairly prominent secondary character and will be getting his own story too. That is going to be a fun one!! Sahara is a new character, but one that inspires fierce loyalty and will be another great story. She’s the boss lady and if you don’t wish you were her, you’d want her to be one of your best friends. It was so great to see all the guys from the previous series make an appearance (and Denver’s comments when he met Catalina had me laughing out loud). The reason they all showed up however, was gut-wrenching. Keep some tissues nearby.

The moment I finished the last page, I just held the book against my chest and smiled through happy tears. Ms. Foster gave Leese the story he always deserved, and it was absolutely perfect.

I'm not surprised that I liked Under Pressure so much. It was sweet, sexy, fun and had great MCs. It reminded me again why I love Lori Foster so much.

So long story short, I loved it because of:
- the strong protective alpha Hero.
- the brave, quirky heroine
- the sizzling chemistry and amazingly HOT love scenes!
- Great secondary characters
- it being a 100% safe read (i.e. No Cheating - Completely FAITHFUL H/h)

I read it in one sitting because I couldn't pull myself away from it. From start to finish, I needed to know where it was all headed. I loved getting to know Cat and Leese, seeing them interact, spend time together, share their thoughts, their dreams, their need for a future that included them, together. It was amazing and am so grateful I received an ARC.

Lori Foster is a go-to author if you want a safe read with just the right amount of heat, romance and characters that are down to earth and just about perfect. And this one is no exception. I always come back to LF because her books are comfortable. They're romance so there is a guaranteed HEA, but I say comfortable because there is never any OW/OM drama, no miscommunications, no humiliating scenes, no shaming and no judgement. It's a safe bet. Even if I don't come away loving the story, I always walk away liking it.

I don't have to love every book by an author to love them but I appreciate that there are still authors out there that can write a love story with equal parts, suspense/mystery, action, humor and of course, romance. Authors that don't need to go OTT with OM/OW drama or create conflicts just for the heck of it. Storytellers that work their word magic thats lets us fall in love with love.

Lori Foster always managing to give me that perfect blend and Under Pressure was just that. I loved Leese and I loved Cat. I think it's pretty brilliant that her new Body Armor series has bodyguards who were former MMA fighters, it mixed the best of her Men That Walk the Edge of Honor and SBC/Ultimate series. It was a stroke of genius! It just makes sense and I can't wait to read Justice's story next. So happy that the first three books come out in 2017. No year long wait between books!! Yay!!! Another reason to fan girl over Lori Foster :)

Under Pressure was the first book in Lori Foster’s Body Armor series. It was a spin off of Foster’s Ultimate series.

We met Leese Phelps previously, who was a fighter that originally had made a few bad choices but was redeemed and easily fit in the fold of the MMA family that was highlighted in the Ultimate series. He was retired from fighting and was now a body guard with the Body Armor Security agency. Leese was assigned to track Catalina Nicholson down and to keep her safe. From what, who knew? She was on the run from some wealthy high profile individuals that knew she over heard some damaging information. Their intent was to kill her at all costs. Leese’s intent was to save her at all costs.

Under Pressure was told primarily in a dual POV; however, there were a variety of other POV’s scattered throughout the storyline, which added dimension.

The relationship development was the backdrop for the plot while the secondary storyline was shrouded in mystery from the onset. Foster then kept it that way until the end. It added suspense and complexity to the main storyline. With that said, I wasn’t a huge fan of Catalina but mainly because she wasn’t forthcoming. She had the pretense of keeping silent to protect her guards, but obviously that’s what put them in danger and the unknowns were what kept them from fully able to protect her.

Foster included the colorful and loyal supporting cast from the Ultimate series for familiarity with a sense of bond and family. It had been a while since I read their stories but I quickly picked back up where we left off.

All in all, it was a great start to a new series. It was enjoyable and entertaining. Foster provided teasers so we know the next book will highlight Justice in Hard Justice.

Body Armor Series
Under Pressure (Book 1)
Hard Justice (Book 2) *Available April, 2017

Under Pressure is the first book in Lori Foster's Body Armor series. If you read her Ultimate series, then you should recognize the leading men of the series. And while I LOVED her past series and Leese really grows on you throughout, Under Pressure didn't live up to the promise of Leese, at least for me.

A year has pasted since Leese has become an elite bodyguard at the Body Armor secruity agency. He has been assigned to find and bring home Catalina Nicholson. Throughout the story, this didn't quite feel like the Leese from the Ultimate series that I had come to really love. And I found Cat to be a little annoying and desperate to get Leese to break his "no sleeping with a client" code. She was extremely pushy, needy, and whiny (IMO). And I say that because if the situations were reversed and it had been Leese being annoying and pushy about sex, I would of not liked Leese at all. I enjoyed the rest of the storyline, but found myself somewhat skimming through the "relationship" parts with Leese and Cat.

My favorite characters in Under Pressure ended up being Sahara, the owner of and her assistant. They were both smart, witty and determined to protect their client. I am hoping that Sahara gets her own story because I think she is going to be a complex character that deserves her story to be told.

Overall, I would still highly recommend Lori Foster, just this particular book was not a favorite of hers, for me. That honor goes to Savor the Danger, Getting Rowdy, and Fighting Dirty.

Actual: 3.75 stars.

Lori Foster's Ultimate series is one of my all time fav sports romance series and I was super excited when she confirmed she was writing a spin-off, especially because book one was about Leese who I really wanted to see get his HEA.

Leese is now working as a bodyguard and he's assigned to protect rich-girl-turned-teacher Catalina. Catalina is running for her life and very wary of everyone but she quickly learns to trust Leese, and she comes to depend on him. They share an immediate attraction which Leese tries to deny because he is on duty but soon they both give into lust and we get plenty of sexy times.

Leese has really matured in this book but he's still the same nice guy he always was. Love him. Catalina was a great female lead and I liked how she was forthright about how much she wanted him. She was really fiesty in that regard.

I did find parts of this difficult to suspend my disbelief - namely that his boss was okay with him shagging a client and the fact he was willing to throw his career away for someone he just met.

There was plenty of suspense and danger to propel the plot forward but the setting was very lackluster. I ADORED the world Lori built in her Ultimate series and it just had something very special about it. This book lacked that special magical ingredient, for me, and while I did enjoy it, I can't say I was blown away. Perhaps I had built my expectation too high.

It is still a decent romantic suspense and it's well written in Lori's usual inimitable style.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This review will appear on my blog in due course: http://myyanabookobsession.com

The first book in the Body Armor series by Lori Foster. Catalina is a school teacher but she is on the run. She accidently overheard her wealthy and influential stepfather and his associates discussing a crime and when they see her, she knows her life is in danger. So she flees and finds herself in another pickle. Leese is a former MMA fighter who quit and went to work for a security company. He was hired to locate Cat and keep her safe and that is exactly what he is going to do.

The story had a few moments that lagged but they didn't last too long. More chemistry and romance than suspense but overall it was a good read and I did like it.

01/16/2017: Boo! I had to return my copy. Under Pressure was out early but there was a print error in the Mass Market Paperback edition. It went from page 128 (Chapter 5) to page 321 - 352 (Chapter 17) ad then back to page 161 (Chapter 7), so there was about 33(?) pages missing.

So back to my eARC I go! Absolutely loving Under Pressure so far!

I had no preconceived ideas going into this book, as this is my first book by Lori Foster.  I really went into this blind, with only the blurb to give me any sort of clue what the book was about.

From the beginning, I found the heroine, Catalina to be too whiney and needy, especially towards the hero, Leese. In general I found the characters to have very little depth to them and for an average length book, I'm afraid it took me way longer to read than I would have liked.

Leese works for a security agency, which is run by Sahara, who turned out to be my favourite character. Leese is assigned to protect Catalina and to me the organisation felt more like a dating agency and not a viable protection organistion. I just didn't buy into it sadly.

Generally there wasn't enough happening to hold my interest. Large portions of time were spent sitting around the penthouse, however there were some more enjoyable scenes that involved Leese and other characters in the combat situations with the Protagonists.  Chapters on the whole seemed to be bulked out with lots of unnecessary details and scenes that added very little substance to the story.

By the end, the story did pick up pace and there was a story developing for Sahara, however the damage had been done early on and regrettably  it never really recovered, or had me absorbed enough as a whole.

I have long been a Lori Foster fan. She's one of the few auto-read authors I have. Some of my favorite re-reads are her books. I am always looking forward to her upcoming releases, but I was especially excited for Under Pressure, the first book in Lori Foster's new Body Armour series. While I absolutely enjoyed Under Pressure by Lori Foster, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
What I Liked:

I loved Leese a lot. As he was a recurring character from her previous series, I already knew Leese. But I ended up liking him even more in Under Pressure. He's starting a new job as a bodyguard, and he takes it very seriously.
I also appreciated that Leese admitted to the time he was kind of a jerk (from previous series) and actively worked to be a better person.
I loved how protective Leese was with Cat. She was in danger, and he was determined to keep her safe, even risking his own safety.
I liked Cat. I didn't love her (more below) but I liked her. She is a nice person, and she means well. She never wanted anyone hurt trying to protect her, and while that frustrated me at times, I did respect it.
Cat and Leese made a cute couple. I did want them to be together, although I wasn't super invested in their relationship (more on that below).
I also liked how open Cat was with Leese. She did not hide the fact that she was interested in him.
Justice, who was a side character, was awesome! To be quite honest, he might have been my favorite character, and I am for sure looking forward to his book.

What I Struggled With:

I never felt the connection between Leese and Cat. I did want them to be together, but more because I was reading a romance, and not so much because I just felt like they were the best couple ever.
Cat was kind of frustrating, from her refusal to give information to body guards who were trying to help her, to how she acted sometimes. For instance, she gets all fancied up when she's hiding out, and the whole scene felt odd. I had a hard time believing she was get all dressed up when crazy things were happening.
The suspense and mystery aspects were a little sketchy, in my opinion. A number of times things happened that felt more like a way to move the plot, instead of things that would realistically happen.
There were a lot of peculiar names in this book: Leese, Webb.

Final Thoughts:
Although I love Lori Foster's books, not all can be winners. Under Pressure wasn't a home run book for me, but it is a pleasant read. I'm glad I read it, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

ARC received for an honest review

If you read Lori's Ultimate Fighter series, you might remember Leese - he was a bit unlikable at times, but as the series progressed you kinda couldn't help but like him?

But even if you haven't read that series, you will adore him in Under Pressure.

Under Pressure is a fast paced, sexy, suspenseful story, full of action and a healthy dose of sexy bodyguard action.

I adored the insta-attraction between Leese and Cat, and the fact that they fought it, and didn't just dive into bed together. Cat is just too cute for words, I couldn't help but love her right from the beginning.

There is lots of danger and action and wondering who is going to be the next person to cause them drama. Lots of naughty politicians and rich people who think they can get away with stuff.

I love everyone banding together to give them a big middle finger!

I really liked the trainee bodyguard Justice - another MMA fighter of course. Can't wait to see where his story goes. And Miles - oh yes I need to know more Miles!

Please don't leave me waiting too long Ms Foster

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

I have read Lori Foster for years. I love her quirky romance with a touch of mystery that infuses her books. Unfortunately, I'm not a big MMA fan and haven't read her recent books. This series is a spin off of a MMA series, so..... Will it be consumed with the MMA culture or will it appeal to me? Only time will tell.

This book is not consumed by the MMA culture and I have enjoyed reading it. The hero, Leese, is a former MMA fighter who realized that he was never going to be a champion and retired to become a bodyguard with Body Armor. He's been with them for about a year and his MMA skills and a natural talent for the work have made him a perfect fit. He's a natural born protector and finds that protecting Catalina was what he was born for.

Catalina is on the run from her stepfather and his murdering friends. She has information that can destroy a very important person and has no idea who she can trust. One of the men wants Cat, not to silence her, but to keep her. When Leese finds her, she is desperate to trust someone and stop running and Leese fits the bill. She also has a huge physical response to his very hot bod. With her life on the line, Cat is not in the mood to wait and get to know each other, Cat wants him and she wants him NOW. Leese also has a huge physical response to Cat, but, she is the client and he isn't about to take advantage of her.

This book just did not live up to my expectations. A lot of Lori Fosters' earlier work was excellent. This one is just so-so. A lot of angst, with a heaping dose of martyr, and that Cat didn't trust Leese to have the skills to protect her or himself made this a tough book to loose myself in.

***ARC Provided by the Publisher and InkSlinger PR***

Leese and Cat were a compelling couple. I liked that they were both intelligent, and that they were both willing to let the other have their strengths and appreciate them. I liked that they respected the intelligence of one another and that he was allowed to be a bodyguard with a brain while she was allowed to be a female romantic suspense heroine with a brain.

Their chemistry was amazing, and the push and pull of Leese wanting to avoid getting involved with someone he is protecting was also interesting and while not new in and of itself, new from the angle that he was also concerned that she was reacting to the situation and that her attraction to him was because he was protecting her and not an actual attraction. I like that this was addressed and it was dealt with, in what I thought was a realistic way. I appreciated that this was allowed to be a part of the relationship that they worked through.

The writing was strong, which is something I expect from Lori Foster, and it was true here as well. The pacing was strong and the story was well balanced between the suspense elements and the romantic ones. The balance of the 2 allowed the story to flow well and it kept the story moving forward in a smooth way.

I recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love how when you read a book from an author you love that you feel like you're at home. You connect with the settings, the characters, the whole thing. Lori Foster does that for me. I come home with her writing.

Leese Phelps has left MMA fighting and has started a career in security, being a body guard. (We met Leese in Lori's last series) Leese is put on the case of guarding Catalina, who is running from home because she overheard her father talking with a man he knows, who's a public personality, who has killed someone and covered it up. Leese and Cat have an instant connection and he tries to fight it, but when the danger comes close not only is he doing his job, he's protecting the woman who holds his heart.

As always, the action was great. The writing pulling you in. We got to see the great fighters from the last series and it was awesome to reconnect with them. I can't wait to read more of this series.

Lori Foster once again writes a story that grabs you from the first page and keeps you on edge with each page turn. This was a perfect start to the spin-off of her fighter series that I absolutely loved.

When I first met Leese he intrigued me and I just needed more. Obviously being an ex-MMA fighter makes him big and intimidating but he had this calm persona that just made him more interesting.

First rule is never get involve with the client but there was something about Cat that called to Leese. But then again Leese called to Cat too. He tamed her inner thoughts and made her feel safe. Their attraction was instant and the chemistry was off the charts.

This story was intense and suspenseful with a mix of hot chemistry and romance. It had a new twist around each corner that made it sexy and intriguing. A strong alpha, a thrilling story and HOT chemistry all make for a great book.

Slick's review:

Under Pressure is the first book in Lori Foster’s Body Armor series and a spin-off of her wildly popular Ultimate series. In this series she melds a variety of book types she’s well know for; MMA, suspense, and bad-a$$ protective heroes. Characters from her Ultimate series appear including the hero who has left his MMA days behind to become a bodyguard. I enjoyed this book quite a lot and felt that Ms. Foster, set the series up nicely without losing the romance of the couple which often happens in the first book of the series. We are introduced to several characters, but not so many as your head starts to spin trying to keep them straight especially if you read the Ultimate series. Under Pressure was intense at times but it was tempered with some sweet, sexy moments and lots of interesting dialog as well.

Leese Phelps is sure of one thing; his latest assignment is going to be the end of him. She might be from a wealthy family, but she has sprit and gumption and she is going to be hell on wheels to keep safe and he knows he will do everything possible to make sure he succeeds. This is a different Leese from the one we were introduced to in Foster’s Ultimate series, he’s grown up, he’s matured and he is very, very happy with his new occupation.

Being on the run for the last couple of months has made Catalina Nicholson tired and weary, but she refuses to just roll over at do what some man wants just because he’s deemed it so. I like that despite her sheltered upbringing and never really having to worry about anything, when she realized she was in danger she figured a way to get out of it often outsmarting those looking for her until she meets Leese and she begins to realize that he might be someone she can trust.

Being holed up to make sure Catalina is safe could have been a snooze fest, but instead it gave them time to really get to know one another especially after Leese made it known he would not get physical with her right away (and yes Cat was a little bit annoying about that at first). I enjoyed the times they spent together talking, cooking, working out, and verbally sparring.

There were some fantastic secondary characters in this story and I honestly can’t wait to see what Ms. Foster has in store for them especially the agency owner, Sahara and Justice whose story is next. The camaraderie between them was fantastic and a joy to read.

Some suspense, sexual tension leading up to some hot, steamy times, and a cast of vibrant and exciting characters made Under Pressure a fantastic start to a new series.

I'm thinking MMA fighters are the new military special ops men of the romance world. I approve wholeheartedly!

Leese Phelps doesn't understand how Catalina Nicholson's mind works. It seems the woman has no sense of self-preservation, but thankfully Body Armor security agency tasked him with protecting her. Hiding out from the bad guys was never so sexy, especially since Cat has made it abundantly clear she wants him guarding her body in every way possible. Leese tries keeping his head on straight and his hands to himself, but Cat makes a compelling roommate, and soon the two can't resist. Cat knows what's coming for her, but she's terrified to tell Leese and the Body Armor crew the depth of the trouble she's in. Can she be protected without sharing everything with them?

Ms. Foster is one of the best in the business for a reason…every book delivers the perfect mix of suspense, story and sex for fans of just about any genre. UNDER PRESSURE, the first in the Body Armor series (a spinoff of the Ultimate series) is just as great as everything she does. Leese and Cat had fabulous chemistry, and I loved how Cat pursued the hell out of Leese until he caved – it was a nice change from the dude always chasing the chick! But once they finally hooked up, the sex scenes were yummy and well done! This was a couple I really rooted for, and I am absolutely salivating over the fact that Justice's story is next! I can't wait!!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; violence/murder. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

It's been a while since I've read a Lori Foster book, and damn, I miss her! She has a way of delivering romantic suspense with an easy like Sunday morning feel. It's never so suspenseful that you have to hold your breath for the next move, yet it captivates you till the very end. She develops very likeable characters that make you want to be their friends!

In Under Pressure she brings together past characters and new characters and it warmed my heart. I LOVE when an author ties different book/series to one another. Especially when you have an emotional connection to their story. She keeps them as a part of your life thru every new book.

One of the most likeable aspects of Under Pressure is the instant attraction our H/h have but don't actual act on so instantly. You felt the chemistry and attraction, but no one jumps into anything too rapidly. The chase was ridic fun and so were Leese and Cat. Their wit and banter and bonding had me turning page after page in one sitting!

Excellent way to branch out from one series and begin anew!

What can I say about Under Pressure, other than I absolutely loved it? Well,it's the first book in the new Body Armor series by Lori Foster. It's a spin-off from the Ultimate series where we first met Leese. He has left the MMA world to become a security guard for Body Armor. He is assigned to keep Catalina safe from an unknown threat. Catalina has been trying to live her own life out from under her step-father's thumb. But when she hears the wrong conversation, her life is in danger.

I loved Leese and Catalina. Their romance is quick, but just really feels right. I loved watching Leese trying to resist Catalina. Catalina was a breath of fresh air. I loved watching them together. I won't talk about the plot, there are a lot of things that could get spoiled. I'll just say it's a wild ride from beginning to end. New characters and fun, familiar faces make the story a real treat to read.

I highly recommend this one. It comes out on January 24, 2017.

I was worried when I finished reading the last book Foster's Ultimate series the "leftover" guy would not  get their own stories. I was happy to find out Mrs. Foster wasn't going to leave them hanging. The Body Armor series is a spin-off of the Ultimate series.

Leese started out as a douche bag in the Ultimate series, but he turn around quick to be one of the good guys before that series ended. Now he's back as the hero of his own story. Leese is the first guy from the fight group to branch out into security work and it really suits him. Of course he breaks the cardinal rule and falls for the woman he is hired to project.

Catalina (Cat) is on the run because of something she overheard. She's from a rich family but wants nothing do to with that life. She has an instant attraction to the body guard who shows up at the right time in order to help her from a small danger. As Leese keeps Cat safe from a larger danger, they fall for each.

Under Pressure is a nice mix of suspense and romance.

Lori Foster has done it again in her latest 'Body Armor' series. "Under Pressure" has all the elements we love reading in her books, with hot sexy men and feisty women. We met Leese in the MMA series, now turned bodyguard for Body Armor Security Agency, and he takes his job seriously while protecting Cat. The theme is suspenseful with the action fast paced, and the chemistry between Leese and Cat is hotter than a 'pressure' cooker. We have Justice as part of the Body Armor agency as well, with some familiar faces from the MMA guys when some of the them make an appearance. "Under Pressure" is a must read book for romantic suspense readers, I highly recommend it. At the end of the book, we get a novella of 'Built for Love' as a bonus. I look forward to reading 'Hard Justice' in the next book, which is Justice's story. As in any Lori Foster series, each book can be read as a stand alone. For me this was an easy 5 Stars!

Under Pressure is the first book in a sizzling new series by Lori Foster called Body Armor which combines former MMA fighters with a elite security firm that provides protection. Body Armor is a spin-off from the Ultimate series about the same MMA fighters. Alpha protective heroes meet their matches in the equally strong females they are protecting.

Leese Phelps first appeared in the Ultimate series as not quite the greatest of guys, but he pulls himself together and creates a man who can be trusted and befriended. He holds onto his past a little too long in this story and with it some values that make him who he is today. Protection helps define who he is and this new job as a bodyguard to Catalina Nicholson is going to challenge him on new levels.

Catalina Nicholson was a quandary to me. She was refreshingly blunt, but also held secrets close. A privileged life hasn't changed her core values, but when she overhears something, she knows she has to keep the secret or risk others being in danger. In fact, Cat holds onto that secret to a weeeeeee bit too long. When Catalina wants something, she isn't afraid to ask for it or even continue to go for it. Her character was amusing to watch as she tries to tempt Leese, while also trying to sacrifice herself for the good of all.

I appreciated the nod to a bad boy turned good with some tests thrown in to prove his worth. MMA fighting is a thing of the past, so if you wanted action, it comes in the form of good guy/bad guy action. Leese holds onto internal struggles a long while and then suddenly it seems he gets over it real fast. The story does tend to drag some in the middle when Cat won't tell the secret and Leese won't give in to her advances. It's a cat and mouse fight that left me turning pages faster than I can read.

The fighters from Ultimate make appearances throughout the story in different ways, proving once again that friendship and family fight for each other. Justice is a standing figure throughout the story and Miles might be joining soon. Boss lady Sahara is one Hell of a lady boss. I hope we get her story as well.

While I enjoyed the story, it isn't without some violence that was deep, meaningful and at points gutted me. I enjoyed the story, but it wasn't a hit out the park. Recommending this story to anyone wanting some heat, love and a characters willing to risk it all for each other.

Suspenseful and steamy! I loved the characters!
.............
So Body Armor is a spin off from Lori Foster's last romance suspense series Ultimate featuring Leese Phelps. I have to admit, he was slowly winning me over in the old series, so I was excited to see him get his own book! I actually really loved that he admits to the fact that he was kind of a jerk at the start (of the Ultimate series) but now shows us how hard he's work to become a better person by Under Pressure.

Leese has left the MMA world and has moved into the body guard life which he's totally loving. Than he get's an assignment that changes his whole (love) life. Enter Catalina Nicholson, art teacher, daughter of a rich man, knower of a secret that someone would kill to silence forever.

The romance, though somewhat a bit insta-lust/love, was quite cute. I liked that Cat was very open about the fact that she lusted for Leese and I think it helped keep their relationship very honest. I was a little fearful that there'd be too much White Knight syndrome happening, what with Leese coming to Cat's rescue. But I think it was balanced out quite well. The thing that probably annoyed me was the fact that Cat was very much all about the martyring herself. It doesn't make you weak to ask for help, sheesh. Anyway, I liked the chemistry between the two and was happy to see them together.

The suspense part of the book was a little cliche (especially the villain), but overall not bad. There's some action and plotting, and threats uttered.

Let's talk about the secondary characters! Justice, Leese's new recruit to the team, is hilarious and adorable and a can't wait for his book. Sahara, boss of Body Armor, is freak'n queen! She is so sassy and badass and brilliant and I just love her so much!!!
"You need to be careful too, Sahara."

She cooked her head. "I would tell you that careful is my middle name - " her expression hardened "- but actually it's vengeance."

Overall, Under Pressure was a great introduction to the new series! I loved that we got to see a bunch of old friends, but also got introduced to a bunch of new great characters. With a good dose of suspense and steamy romance, it's everything you would want in a Lori Foster novel.

3.75 stars! The male lead character is too perfect, from his ripped physique to his striking eyes, Leese Phelps only flaw is ... what kind of name is Leese?!

That aside, Leese is a bodyguard sent to protect one Catalina Nicholson, a seemingly spoiled rich girl who lives modestly and teaches art to elementary-aged kids. But Catalina knows a secret that could get her killed.

The characters fight their attraction and it's all very noble of Leese to resist falling for his client, and the plot moves steadily if a bit slowly.

The supporting characters actually piqued my interest more, especially Leese's friend Justice (he'll get his own story) and his boss, the mysterious Sahara.

This first book in the Body Armor series has whet my reading appetite enough that I'll look for the next one, Hard Justice!

4.5*

I adored Lori Foster's Ultimate series and was sad when it came to an end. Especially because we never really got to know much about Leese, one of the secondary characters who made an impression on me, and I'm sure on many other readers! So I was delighted when I heard she was writing a spin-off series based on Leese and a few of the other side characters from that series. And that it was going to be about bodyguards??? Sign me up, please!

Ms. Foster doesn't waste any time (re)introducing Leese and Justice, we're thrown right into the action with them from page 1 of Under Pressure. And the action is non-stop from there. Leese is tasked with protecting Catalina Nicholson, but from whom we're not really sure. The mystery and intrigue had me flipping pages quickly, trying to figure out just who was responsible for putting Cat, and everyone around her, in danger. Twists and turns kept the story moving and the characters kept it interesting!

If you're familiar at all with any of Lori Foster's books, you know she's one of the best at creating strong, protective, chivalrous alpha males...and Leese Phelps is no exception! His protective nature and caring personality makes him a perfect fit as a bodyguard. He's definitely a changed man from when we met him originally in the Ultimate series, and he really captured my heart. And mine wasn't the only heart he stole- Cat, after her initial leeriness and hesitancy because of everything that was happening around and to her, realizes that Leese is something special. While he does everything he can to fight the attraction to her, his client, she's pretty relentless in her pursuit of him. And it's quite entertaining- a little levity in what is otherwise a tense situation.

Under Pressure is a terrific start to what I'm sure will be another outstanding series from Lori Foster. It's suspensful, romantic, engaging, an all around enjoyable read. Cat and Leese are such a sweet couple, one of the sweetest I think she's written. I'm really quite excited for the rest of the books in this series, I'm ready to jump right into Justice's book!

*Although Leese was originally introduced in the Ultimate series, Under Pressure can absolutely be read as a completely separate book that stands on its own.
