♦Given ARC from the the author for an honest review♦

Ok so down to business I put off writing review until some days have passed to put my thoughts into writing, you know how it is.
Firstly, when I started this book I was dying with anticipation to see what happened next, got to say I was not disappointed, but I still have problem with Seth, that low down dung heap good for nothing waste of space poor excuse for a human being, but that's not the issue here people its the human king that the problem, he needs to go. I honestly could no find any problem with how the book was , the editing was flawless and I couldn't find any fault with the grammar or the plot either.
Secondly, what the heck is up with her douche of a brother, he would make a good demon king yes but as a fairy prince he seems kind harsh but Drake let me give you a little advice, "when in fairyland do as fairies do" which means not killing people just for the heck of it.
Thirdly, I do not like her with keldren I am rooting for Sebastien, who would have thought Sadi was a Prince I knew he loved her but wowza!
Lastly, what a cliffy! I turned the page and I saw the end I was like huh I had to go back and check to see if I missed something, man I was so caught up in the book I hardly noticed I reached the end, yup it was that good.
( who would have thought that she was a fairy princess too I say she and Sebastien and her grandpapa team up against the humans. TWO magical kingdoms pssh! they don't stand a chance) normally I would be all for the humans but honestly I don't like them, placing blame all willy nilly and killing innocent demons I not saying the demons are completely innocent either but the humans seem to be the main instigators, you get what am saying, well that about it I recommend this book for anyone who likes fantasy like moi *shrugs* maybe it just a phase but I seriously doubt it

This series just gets better over time. It's stunningly written I can't help but get sucked into it and left crushed wanting more after I've read the last word. The characters are becoming more and more believe law and the plotting even more complex. It's a shame it's so short but it sure does leave a sharp impact on a reading palette. I'll be girly awaiting the third installment with baited breath.

i zoomed through Demon Princess pretty quickly, I was a little disappointed that it took me longer to read this one. I have to admit, it’s not nearly as good as the first, but it’s still a worthwhile read.

i absolutely love how Demon King was a step up from the first. there were more plot developments, twists, all kinds of things keeping you on your toes. some stuff i was expecting (the fairy thing), but otherwise there were some good twists that i didn’t expect at all.

the first character i want to talk about, and what a dick. seth. i don’t know what it was (bad writing or the way he was raised) but how can someone be so stupid and blind when facts are clearly presented in front of you? he was very annoying and i think I’ve grown a particular hatred towards him.

with sadi, i wasn’t expecting that. nothing makes sense anymore. why. the thing at the end makes no sense to me, even after everything’s explained. i can’t trust him anymore, no matter how hard i try. he was one of my favourite characters, now i refuse to believe. also, i imagined him as an arab guy (i don’t know where it came from, i just did) but now either he isn’t or

on the note of adriana, she was so damn annoying in this book. in demon princess, i wanted to defend her and whatnot, but in this one i wanted to punch her and make her do something useful.

okay and keldrin was annoying too.

overall, i rate this book 4 stars. i know, my review is shit but negative-based reviews are the most informative. as a whole, the book was great and i recommend to most. just those few things mentioned above- which were mostly things that bugged me rather than “what i hate”. i definitely recommend giving it a go.

Kassandra Lynn knows how to write a good and intricate fantasy without making your brain explode.
I'm not much of a "I'm gonna spoil the entire plot for you" kind of person but I can tell you that you're not going to be disappointed by Demon King; you will be fully engaged with the story thanks to the beautifully described fantastic world and all the twists and turns will keep you glued to the pages.
A pleasurable reading, highly recommended!

This was everything typical of a book 2 in a trilogy. It sufficiently continued the story, leading and hinting at larger events yet to come. There were a lot of things that kept getting repeated in this book (how many times the demon throne got usurped, how many times Adrianna got captured and had to face the human army and Seth in particular, the sheer number of times she questioned her relationship with Keldrin with him being a Savior Blood, and her on the run). I did like that it finally answered several of the larger questions raised in the previous book. And Keldrin and Xander continue to be fun characters to follow, with more information on Xander revealed this time around. The two new characters introduced were annoying (but then villains usually are) and felt repetitive. Adrianna felt rather lackluster this time around. She was very damsel-in-distress, kept walking into traps, and running head-long into trouble, and rather cowed and not standing up for herself and relying on other people (other than when she needed to fight in combat). And Sadi actually got thrust into the spotlight this time around, giving his character a lot more dimension. One problem I’m having with him is that I’m not getting a good sense of what he looks like (other than imposing). And as a book 2, this ends on a cliffhanger without really solving any of Adrianna’s problems. Still, I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

**I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review**

So my review for the first book in this trilogy, Demon Princess, was pretty much a rave review. I loved most everything about the story, and only had a couple things on my wishlist for the next book. Unfortunately, I feel like this book took a step back both in terms of writing and character development. Yes, I know it’s a review copy, but I did end up downloading the finished book on Kindle Unlimited to track my progress, and there were still a lot of grammar mistakes. Normally I can look past it, because we’re all human and mistakes happen, but some of these mistakes distracted me from reading. I had to go back and reread the sentence to make sure that I grasped what was happening. In addition to that, some of the writing felt a bit juvenile. There’s one sentence in particular where it said,

Xander has blocked Drake’s attack at the last minute!

I was just kind of like, ‘You don’t say? Thank you for that Captain Obvious.’

In terms of character development, everyone either became spineless or a jerk. In the first book, Adriana was this kick ass demon princess who refused to become someone’s summon beast. In this book, she kind of tries to be a demon king, but ends up spending a majority of the time wallowing in her self-pity over the fact that she and Keldrin are destined to be mortal enemies. It sounds harsh, but trust me, after a while you’d be annoyed too. When she isn’t feeling sorry for herself, she’s standing on the sidelines watching the action. There were a couple times where she tried to be helpful, but for a lot of the book, she was a captive, by one kingdom or another, and relied on others to get her out. As for Keldrin, I think he spends a lot of this time wallowing in self-pity as well. He didn’t feel as powerful or strong as he did in the first book. It could be that he was overshadowed by his older brother Seth, whom by the way, I hated, whereas in the first book, he was the one doing the overshadowing.

Seth is blinded by hatred for the Demon Kingdom that prevents him from seeing things that are right in front of him. Adriana is literally in the middle of helping Keldrin and yet Seth is convinced that she’s trying to trick everyone. He very much shoots first, asks questions later and it got super annoying, not to mention that he was complete dick about everything he did. Which you'll see toward the beginning of the book.

Now, what I liked about the book was that the plot progressed and we had a couple questions from the first book answered. Her brother’s disappearance was finally addressed, and some family history is revealed that I really enjoyed and think will make things interesting (hopefully). I’ll give you one hint, it has to do with Razen’s theory about why she was summoned by a mage. We also find out the reason why Sadi is so protective of Adriana, which I did not see coming. At least not in the way that its presented.

I would recommend this book. Once again, it’s a short read at only 181 pages and took me a couple of hours to finish. I hope things take a step forward in the final book, because I really do like this series and the concept behind it. While this one wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever read, it definitely had its redeeming qualities.

I think at this point the only reason I'm sticking with this series is because I'm determined to find out how it ends. This story is quite interesting, and a little more developed than the first...but lord did I have some issues with this story. Firstly, the grammar....needs to be checked a little more thoroughly in the story. There are several sentences where the wrong tense was used, or even just not making it clear enough what the author was trying to get across. Also, Adriana's world has now been expanded and we now have Fairyland to contend with. This is all great and good, but I feel like it wasn't explained very well. In the first novel, we learn that she's part fairy, because she lights up the stone a little bit, like insignificant enough for Razen to disregard her. However, in Fairyland she glows like a night light? Seems a little inconsistent to me, unless the explanation is that her fairieness is amplified in Fairyland. Also, Sadi/Sebastian seems to be thrown a little out of left field for me. I am not buying it...

Demon King (Demon Kingdom Fairy Tales Book Two) by Kassandra Lynn

Adriana has returned to her kingdom and is now the new Demon King. But her kingdom is on the edge of war. She must prevent a war, heal from a forbidden love, carry on her duties as king, and reveal her family secrets, not going to be an east task for her, but she is determined.

A fast paced intense plot. The characters are well developed , there is action, danger, plot twists, and tough choices to make. She may not be perfect but her heart is in the right place. I greatly enjoyed Demon King and highly recommend to others. I also recommend book one in the series Demon Princess.

I received this by the author for an honest review.

i really enjoyed this second book in the series. More interactions between Adriana and Keldrin - i keep wanting them to end up together even though they are enemies. There was more fighting in this one and different places, there is the Airea Kingdom, the Demon Kingdom, Fairy Land. i really liked the surprises in Fairy land and later in the book. I don't wanna giveaway any spoilers since this is such a good story in my opinion, yall should really read Demon Princess and this one Demon King and be just as surprised as i was on certain things. can't wait to see what the next book holds for Adriana, Keldrin, Sadi, Razen, Xander and all the others.

Absolutely loved it and can't wait for the next one. I have to say I'm on team Keldrin though Sadi/Sebastian has his own mysterious allure. I love how books can make you experience a range of emotions but it drives me crazy when a story doesn't play out the way you want it to. Hopefully in the next book Keldrin and Adriana find a way to break down the barriers between demon and saviour blood (possibly ending their feud) and they all live happily ever after. Well I can dream can't I?

Anyway if you're looking for a good book with interesting characters, a great storyline and killer plot then this series is for you!!

I really enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the first the demon princess,I found the demon king was just as action packed and exciting as the demon princess, this book started off in demon land but as usual poor ari is stuck between her head and her heart and ends up battling with her feelings for kendrin all the way through.I love kendrins character he's so sweet and pretective.this was a great 2nd book and I would like to thank Kassandra for sending me a copy of this amazing book for me to read and review I loved it.

Excerpt from my blog:

Being the second book of the series, I was expecting a lot more character development. I did not get that. Although I enjoyed reading it, I wasn't particularly hooked and I felt no attachment to any of the characters. I'll definitely read it again and I'm looking to read the third and final instalment in the series. It's a very short book -being less than 200 pages- which makes it a perfect book for a light read.

I really like how this second book really picks up with the action and the intrigue and the gut wrenching plot twist at the end. I also like that we found out their not only the two main kingdomes their a fairy kingdome and the joys that come along with the quirks of that. I like how we got to see more fire from Adriana she wasn't acting like a spoiled princess as much as she did in the first book. Excited to see where the story goes in the next book.

Even better than the last one!

Adrianna is not your typical princess, she can hold her own, but still be vulnerable in the face of true love. She struggles to find a balance between being the Demon Princess and wanting to be with the one she loves even as she faces new enemies at every corner!

Can't wait for the next book!

I read through the book as quickly I could, staying up til almost 1am before deciding it was best I go to sleep so I'd be able to get up in the morning, I finished what little I had left of it this morning and barreled straight into the next one.
I think the thing I love most about this book is how the story took many unexpected twist and turns and how when Adriana got into trouble it was because she made a few wrong decisions and not a few stupid mistakes.
The series as a whole goes down as my favorite read of the year.

After reading the first book in this series, DEMON PRINCESS, I had to get my hands on this one to find out what happened to Adriana next. This book picks up right where the last one left off. In other words, I wouldn't recommend this as a stand-alone. But since the books in the series are only around 180 pages a piece, none of them requires hours of reading.

Adriana has matured since we first met her at the beginning of book one, but after all of her adventures, that's to be expected. She's ready to take on her responsibilities (more or less) and has toughened up considerably. I enjoyed the fact that there's a certain amount of deja vu to this beginning. She's back there where it all started, at Demon Court. Unlike the first book, this doesn't start with her coronation, but someone else is about to take the throne. Tension fills these first pages, pulling the reader into the story the second it starts.

One of my favorite things about this series is the twists and turns. There are so many things going on which Adriana (and no one else) is aware of--scheming, plotting and power plays from so many sides. It's hard to know who to trust and who is really on Adriana's side.

Adriana is growing up, but there's still a lot for her to learn. At times, her decisions made me want to slap her, and despite her determination, sometimes I'd expect a little more strength from her. I guess that's the difference between a demon princess and a real demon king, and one of Adriana's biggest struggles within herself.

The pacing is fantastic never letting go from start to finish. The descriptions are just enough to spark the imagination and make it clear what's going on. The character interactions are nicely done, and it's easy to feel the ties/tension between them. The romance isn't as clear as it had been in book one, but that wouldn't fit well with the plot since several things are happening which make that whole area a little more difficult.

All in all, this is a fun read. Sometimes it feels a little superficial, but I have no problem with that. The story is engaging, entertaining, action packed and offers everything a good book should. YA paranormal fans who simply want to be caught up in a intriguing world will thoroughly enjoy this one. I'm looking forward to book three.

I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

After Adriana returns to her kingdom she doesn't get the reception she was expecting when she discovers someone was trying to claim her throne, but her loyal thirteen princess guards are much stronger than everyone else and this problem is soon solved.

But this is the least of her problems, the humans want to begin a war with the demons because princess Salvene is missing and the king of Airean blames the demon kingdom. Adriana is torn with her duties within her kingdom and her feelings towards what is seen as the enemy.

I feel sorry for Adriana because she is in a position that she doesn't want and everyone sort of know she is not how their previous kings and she is too soft for all the war, she just want to find her father and brother and let them to their jobs. But this is not possible, and she has to accept her new position.
There has been so many surprises in this book and I don't even know what to think. I don't want to spoil anything but I certainly wasn't expecting what happened when Adriana finally discovered the truth about her fairy blood (the one that the Wiseman discovered in the previous book) and also the truth about her father and the throne of the Demon Kingdom.

In the romance aspect I do enjoy Keldrin but now there's all this war that obvious put them in opposite sides of the war, and we get another romance option for Adriana that seems to fit her well and I'm honestly confused like Adriana about what to feel for each guy. That usually doesn't happen to me, I hate love triangles and the whole aspect of choosing one guy in many for the main character, but in this one I honestly think both guys deserve her. But one is the enemy and the other....(you have to read to discover).

Great book and can't help but hope to be able to read Demon Queen as soon as possible. The ending was heartbreaking for me. So I can't help but wonder what comes next.

4.5 Stars ★★★★

This is the second book in the series, there was a lot more going on in this book then the first and im excited to talk about it! Still so many feels for this book

This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review

General Comments:
I really like this authors writing, The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm super picky and I get frustrated with the main character. Maybe I expect too much or have such a specific list of what I want to see in a female lead. She made some dumb choices which had me asking what are you doing?!

Characters:
It seems like no matter what Adri does she keeps messing up, and I mean I get it. she was never trained to become the King and yet shes thrown into the position. So on one hand I had hoped she would rise up to the task and become bad ass but realistically shes just an over whelmed girl who was never suppose to be King dealing with a love she cant have. She definitely made some choices I wouldn't have sometimes she chose what she wanted over her kingdom first, but I think she could have the ability to bring some kind of resolution to her kingdom and the others instead of a war. I hope she rises up and has some more confidence in herself because im really invested in this story and I want her to achieve something better.

Not to give any spoilers but I will say I would be pretty mad at a specific friend of hers not cool for lying dude! I cant wait to see how that situation works itself out!

World Building:
The world definitely got a lot bigger we get a little visit to the Fairy Kingdom I wont say too much more then that but I would be interested to learn more and figure out what the characters there are up too.

Overall a good read and you should check it out!

Special thanks to Kassandra Lynn for providing the book in exchange for an honest review.

After Demon Princess, Adriana returns to wrestle her throne away from the usurpers, things aren't going according to plan for her. Heartbroken, scared and lost, Adriana's days are wrought with fending off bloodthirsty members of council who wants nothing but war with the humans.

When Adriana was kidnapped again, she quickly fights to regain some control. Yeah, by now it might be a routine for Princess Adriana, Demon King to be frequently taken against her will by humans. Except this time, it is no laughing matter.

Upon her journey with the humans, she found a lot of surprises, none appealing to her whatsoever. A little disappointed with Adriana, after her first ordeal with the humans, I thought she should have wised up a little, or at least grow some sense of preservation. But again, she risks her life for her enemies, and lost a few things along the way.

Presented with many 'good' solutions that would cement her position as Demon King, Adriana choose the harder way, resulting in many loses. I can't say that I pity her though. Despite her strength and wit, she is terribly alone sometimes, and her heart's desire is pretty torn about the situation too.

Demon King is the second book for the series, where Adriana seems to be on the brink of losing everything that she holds there. But her spunk and determination would not allow her to give up, it would be great to follow through and see if she succeeds in her quest, or at least get her wishes fulfilled.

Still packed with action and backstabbing enemies, never a dull moment when you are reading Adriana's adventures.

After Adriana returns to her kingdom, she finds someone's trying to claim her throne. With the help of her loyal princess guards, the much larger opposition's soon neutralized and Adri retains the Demon King crown.
But this is the least of her problems, the humans want to begin a war with the demons because princess Salvene's missing and the king of Airean blames the demon kingdom. Adriana is once again torn between her desire to stave off a war between humans and demon, her duties to her people and her feelings for Keldrin, a human with Savior blood.

I loved the character and felt sympathy for Adri, as she just wants to wants to hold the Demon King title for her brother and father, while everyone knows she's too soft to be King and do what is necessary for her people.
There are so many twist and turns in this book , all masterfully crafted, as Adriana finally discovers the truth about her fairy blood (the one that the Wiseman discovered in the first book) and also the truth about her father and the throne of the Demon King. In this book, Adri does what she has to do to stop the unnecessary massacre of the humans by Demons under the new Demon King , while remaining true to herself and her people. It was interesting to see where the Romance element between Adrian and Keldrin took them, despite all odds and knowing that their love can't happen between a demon King and a Savior blood. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next book, the Demon Queen.

When he reaches out to grab my throat, I don't even blink. Before he touches me, Sadi has his wrist in his hand. The cracking of bones is all I hear before Blain is thrown down the steps of the dais and captured by one of my princess guards.

I kind of have a thing for Sadi, I prefer him over Keldrin and this upsets me because I'm predicting Adriana will end up with Keldrin. Something about his unwavering love, loyalty, and actions after so many years tugs at the right heartstrings. So why am I predicting she'll end up with Keldrin? It's kind of obvious, Adriana is not like the other demons, and she’s soft hearted and is more apt to finding the most peaceful solution to situations. Then there's the fact that she is also part fairy, so why not marry a human and conceive a demon/fairy/human child. Oh hey, peace between all three kingdoms—easy as opening your heart and spreading your legs.

I am excited to read Demon Queen, the synopsis brings me some kind of hope then smashes it with "But in a land of demons, secrets dwell deep and they have a nasty habit of revealing themselves."

Maybe Kassandra Lynn is into Sadi as much as I am though, I will be hopeful.

How done am I with Adriana? In a scale of giving it a not so great rating to I'm not sure if I'll be reading the next one. (She'll or would probably kill me with her bullshit lol)
Well, this rating isn't great even thought I did enjoy some parts of the book (mostly when Adriana wasn't being annoying and doesn't-make-sense-at-all type of person...)
I'm disappointed in her, because I was hoping that she'll grow as a character and become a badass boss. (Surprise surprise, it didn't work that way).
I do like Keldrin, even though he's not the type of character that would make me fall madly in love with them. But he's a nice guy.
Yet then we have Sebastian.
description

Anyway, I think the next one will just piss me off and most of the time I'll be saying to myself "oh my god, she's so dumb" (as I did while reading some of the scenes in Demon King lol), so I won't reading it anytime soon...

As I really, really liked the first book in this series, I was excited to be offered an opportunity to review the second by the author for free. I am so glad! The second book was just as good, if not better, than the first. The series continues to be very entertaining, well-written, well-plotted and full of twist and turns. I wish the books were longer and that Adriana would not continue to be so...naive, I guess. She makes decisions and I groaned aloud. She is more mature than in the first book, but I still find her a tad annoying at times. However, this series is really worth reading. And, that ending, which is all I can say!! I have become a big fan of Ms. Lynn and will continue to read what she publishes. You need to do the same. Thanks go to Ms. Lynn for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was glad that this was such a quick read because it was frustrating to read. The reason being that I want Adriana and Keldrin to end up together but with the way the story is going, the 3rd book might really piss me off.

Plus not to mention the whole Sebastian being Sadi thing totally threw me off and made me hate him, like he's obsessed with Adriana "Lena", and doesn't really care what Adriana feels. Adriana isn't as cold-hearted as the rest of the past Demon Kings but she does care about her people and the ones she cares about.. I just hope she finds a way for it not to end in bloodshed.

In the end, I hope that at least Adriana ends up happy by it being her decision.

On to wait for the next book then...

Adri just can't help herself can she? She keeps landing herself in trouble. She can't really fight for the demon side but can't fight for the humans. But can't fight against either one. So where does it leave her? Stuck in the middle with both sides using her. And then throwing in this third side, I did not see that one coming. Now, I sit here, on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next book. It went from rooting for the one love from book 1, to rooting for a new love that I hope is building? But now there 2 possibly more? Then every time she turns around someone is using her for their own purposes when all she is doing is trying to help them all. Shes stuck... Lets see if she can play into a hand that keeps her out of trouble?

Adrianna is finally able to return to her kingdom, but returning has been no easy task. The princess of Aires is gone missing and their king believes she has been taken by the demons. On another adventure to seek her out, Adrianna learns of family secrets. Ones that no one can ever find out!

Fantastic book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading and in just one sitting. The many secrets that Adrianna is learning about herself and where she stands is pretty rough. She's strong to accept it but with those things is also heartbreak. I love how brave she is to take steps in the direction she believes is right, even at putting her life in danger over and over again. This is a five hearts kind of read!!

I went into reading the second book ready for either improvement or at the very least a consistency from the previous book. I did not find this to be true.

For me, this book was predictable. It seemed rushed and gave me figurative whiplash. One moment someone felt one way and the next turn it was a different way. It was challenging to remember who was mad at whom and why. However, I am still curious to find out what happened to Adrianna. As for the grammar and spelling, it could use some help. It has some good ideas, and is readable, it just needs to be polished.

I do plan on reading the third book, and I am hoping that it will be a little more put together and not rushed.

I give this book three and a half stars.

Just like the first book, I loved Demon King. It was a quick, fun read and I really like the characters and world that Kassandra Lynn has built. Though I'm sure someone might argue that there isn't enough depth, I think it's perfect. Obviously not every story can be an epic fantasy with the details of Lord of the Rings, and they don't all need to be.

Demon King had some great twists that I didn't see coming, which kept up the mystery of the lore and complicated relations of the characters. I can't wait to read Demon Queen.

The only problems were a few typos or tenses that were confused, but they were pretty easily overlooked.

I received a digital copy of Demon King from the author.
