Falling Completely

MALIYA 🩺
Falling in love? Not for me.
Relationships never end well. I don’t believe in fate, soul mates or happy, fairy tale endings.
I have a plan, and falling in love isn’t part of it.
Nothing is going to derail me—especially not a ridiculously attractive, blue-eyed firefighter who seems to pop up everywhere I go.

CALEB 🚒
The moment I saw her, I knew.
I knew the sassy, curvy, raven haired beauty was supposed to be mine. She might not believe in fate, but I do.
I’ve waited patiently, but enough is enough. It’s time to win her over.
And I don’t mind playing dirty to get what I want.

When Maliya Abbott’s sister decides to move to the weird but wonderful little town of Starling Falls to take over their estranged great-aunt’s bakery, Maliya is convinced she’s lost her ever-loving mind.
But she tags along anyway—she’s not about to be separated from the only family she has left. It’s just for a year. One year, tops—then it’s med school and back to real life.

What she didn’t plan for? Caleb Jameson.
A firefighter who’s a little too charming, a lot too persistent, and one hundred percent convinced they’re destined to be together.
She also didn’t plan on his meddling, overly affectionate, slightly unhinged family trying to help, or the charming, small town that seems to be worming it’s way under her skin.

Maliya knows what she wants. And she definitely does not want Caleb Jameson.
Now if only her stupid heart would start listening to her head...

Author’s Note: 18+ For mature readers only. This book contains graphic language, steamy scenes, a determined alpha with a filthy mouth, a food-obsessed heroine with a tendency to talk to herself, an insane but lovable family, a possibly psychic goldfish, and very judgemental cat.

Tropes:
Found family 💗
Cosy small town setting 🏠
A little bit of angst 💧
Very spicy romance 🌶️
Possessive firefighter MMC 🔥
All the banter ✨
A guaranteed HEA 🌈

A spicy and swoonworthy small town romcom, Falling Completely is perfect for fans of Laurie Gilmore, Lucy Score and Tessa Bailey.

3 I loved the Hero Stars

 photo 17755298_zpsdomj3epv.gif

* Spoilers*

So this book was just an Okay read for me. I am totally the minority here as all my friends loved it. I would have 5 stared the shit outta this book if it didn't have one of my biggest pet peeves in it taking away from my enjoyment. There was a lot of funny parts that made me laugh, some super sexy parts, and some sweet parts too. But this book had one major point of frustration for me. See my biggest pet peeve next to cheating is major cowardly behavior. Nothing ruins a book for me more than a huge coward. I understand being afraid. Everyone has fears, but when the entire basis of a book is the irrational fear of the hero or heroine( in this book the heroine) causing them to push the other away the whole read like a coward hurting the one they love over and over again it straight infuriates me. That normally ruins a book for me so bad that I almost always ends up giving it a 1 or 2 star, but this book had enough funny and sweet moments that it was still a pretty good read even with the heroine making me want to commit bodily harm to her and that is saying a lot!

 photo Taylor-Swift-Breathing_zpsk3jynlky.gif

I really liked Caleb a lot. I thought he was sexy. Hello he is a firefighter! Men in uniforms yummy! He was also this possessive, sweet, dirty talker. He really helped save the book for me. I really liked how he didn't take no for an answer. Liya was okay for me. She had her good moments in which she was sassy, and funny. But she drove me bat shit crazy with her cowardly behavior. I wanted to shake her and beat her half the time. It made me so mad how she constantly hurt Caleb over some stupid irrational fear. I mean damn girl everyone has had some kind of shit happen in their lives get the hell over it already. I could have probably gotten over it had she pushed him away just once or even the second time, but the third time...... After he had a horrible day at work. After he shows up at her house crying because he had tried to save some people in a wreck and they died. She took him in made love to him. Made him think they were back together and then tells him the next morning that was a goodbye fuck nope. I was pretty much done with her ass at that point. She didn't deserve Caleb after that.

 photo giphy1_zps0qyafk74.gif

That all being said I loved Caleb's family. They were amazing. They really added something special to the book. I really hope they all get their own books because I am wanting to see them all get their HEA especially Nate and Alex. I also really liked Mik(Caleb's best friend) I really would like him to get his own book too, maybe where he is paired with Caleb's sister God that would make for a cute couple!! While this book was only an okay read for me that isn't because of anything but personal pet peeves. I think this book was well written, funny, and cute I just didn't like the crap that Liya pulled. I would still recommend this to most of my friend as I know most romance readers would love this book! I will continue reading the series.

photo Falling Completely - Aidan Willows_zpsvovlayta.png

I want to start this review by saying that I am so happy I have read this! Aidan contacted me a few weeks ago asking me for an honest review on her debut novel and I was all over it after reading the blurb! It has taken a while because I had other books I wanted to read too but I am really glad I finally checked this one out.

Falling Completely is the first installment in Willows' Starling Falls series and it introduces two Londoner sisters who are starting a new life in Starling Falls by runing their grandaunt's bakery and the crazy-funny Jameson family that is composed of six siblings and their aunt and uncle (who are more like their parents). This novel is the story of Maliya 'Liya' Abbott (the older sister, a nurse and a woman unsure about this whole 'moving to SF' situation) and Caleb Jameson (the second oldest brother in the Jameson clan, a firefighter and the man who is able to convince Liya to give a new chance to love and life).

They were an endearing family; it was hard to be around them and to not be charmed by all of them.

“At least the angels here are pretty. And smell like vanilla. I like vanilla.” he slurred incoherently.
“Listen, Sir. I’m not an angel, I’m just a nurse.”
“Mmmm. I like you calling me Sir, Angel. It’s kinky.”

Liya and Caleb meet in a very curious and different circumstance (Caleb just got hit by a car, he thinks he has died and Liya is an angel who he really wants to kiss) and there it starts a wonderful, sweet, sexy and hilarious love story. Falling Completely had me laughing out loud, crying, swooning and anything else in between and I LOVE THAT!

It is one of those books that makes you fall in love instantly with the characters, especially if you enjoy the family's involvement: the Jamesons, the Abbott sisters, Aunt Trudy and all the other secondary characters already have a special place in my heart. I love their over-the-top reactions, the familiarity, the hysterical interactions and how much they love each other!

“Imagine what your life would be if you were all alone.”
“Well, I would still probably be in my pyjamas right now, binge watching episodes of Sherlock with my two favourite guys.”
“You do realise Ben and Jerry are not actually your friends, right?

“I’ll sort it, Aunt Deb.” I reassured her.
“I know you will, honey. I want her to come round for dinner too. And after you both get married, I expect your first child to be named after me.”
I sighed loudly as I ran a hand over my tired face. I realised that once this girl met my insane family members, I’d be lucky if she didn’t go screaming and running for the hills.

I just found this so freaking funny! Sometimes something OTT works and Falling Completely was one of those times for me! It's like a light, comical, erotic, familiar mixture that I don't know why but Aidan practically nailed it. Besides that, the love story between Caleb and Liya is really sweet and hot! Caleb is super-hot, a dirty talker and a man who fights for what he wants (especially after he discovers some insecurities Liya has). I loved these two together!

“I don’t mind a chase, baby. Whether it’s a sprint or a marathon makes no difference to me. I’ll reach the finish line eventually. I don’t know what you’re running from, but I don’t give up easy. I’ll be seeing you soon.” he said with another wink and planted a firm, brief, kiss on my mouth.

From the dim light on the street lamp, I saw him extract his fingers from my pussy and bring to his mouth, licking them clean.
“Oh, God.” I whispered at the erotic sight.
“You taste like the sweetest vanilla and honey, Angel.” he growled in my ear “I can’t wait to enjoy all that honey straight from the source.”

“You’re a dream, Maliya Abbott. A dream I want to keep having every damn night.”

Yes, it's one of those times I use too many quotes ;) However, if I have to say something that can be further improved is the writing. Aidan's style is quite fluent and together with everything else it works well but several times I found some grammar mistakes. They are not real bad but I think these errors can be easily solved either by re-reading the book or by the beta readers. Aside from that aspect, Falling Completely really worked for me!

If you’ve been lucky enough to be blessed with finding someone who loves you, don’t be afraid to accept that love, even if it comes with the chance of being hurt. Make sure when you find your happiness, you don’t take it for granted or let it slip away. Take a chance and allow yourself the happiness you deserve.

Therefore, my rating for Falling Completely is 4.5 STARS because I really enjoyed this love story and especially the familiarity between all the characters. I believe it's really important to have a great family involved and this was totally the case! Thank you Aidan for the copy and for being so sweet! I really cannot wait for the next book and all the other stories that I hope you will give us on these fabulous characters :D Also, to readers, please check it out if you want something light, without too many drama and with a great bunch of loveable characters: I highly recommend this!

I loved this story. Truly truly loved it. In fact I was upset when it finished in way I am usually only upset with a KA book since I have finished it when I was enjoying it so much, and am left not wanting to start another book as it cannot be as fun.

I found it a very engaging read, and was very much relationship driven.

There were no misunderstandings, no awful ex's making an appearance or anything. And I liked how the hero, he was the one all for a relationship and confident in what they could be (despite a horrible childhood) and it was the heroine thinking she was not good enough and with the emotional hang ups.

And we got to about 16% before they even met, but it did not feel like I was waiting for the story to start. Instead I was enjoying the anticipation of how and when they would meet, while thoroughly enjoying myself experiencing the relationship between the heroine and her sister, and the hero and all his family.

And for those who have read my reviews before, more often than not, I have no strong feelings either way for the heroine, she is just there, more of a Mary Sue, or annoying in a whiny crying way, or so perfect every bloke she meets is enraptured by the promise of her magic vagina! I am all about the hero.

I ADORED the heroine in this book. She was funny, a touch bad tempered at times, could be a little Grouchy, strong in some ways, while hiding a vulnerability. She was a great heroine, I loved her.

And the hero was equally as engaging. He was all in, he knew what he wanted and he had an awesome family! Some of the best moments in the book were when we spent time with his family.

He was a fire-fighter and could be an alpha and demanding, but at times was willing to make himself vulnerable to get through to the heroine and he had his cute moments One of my favourite moments being him watching The Lion King the first time.

"Wait. Did the asshole lion uncle seriously just kill his brother? He's actually dead, not just faking?" Caleb said in disbelief, his beer bottle frozen halfway to his lips, a horrified expression on his face. "I thought this was a kids movie?"

......

"I was eight when it came out, babe. I didn't have the same childhood experiences as most other eight year olds..... Fuck off Scar! You know he's not responsible. Don't run away kid! Don't do it! You're a mother fucking bastard Scar." Caleb yelled at the television.

I bit back a smile as Niki got up from her chair and came to sit on the other side of Caleb, rubbed his shoulder comfortingly and offered him her tub of ice-cream.
He put down his beer and accepted the ice-cream and a spoon.
As he kept yelling at the movie, she started consoling him with promises things got better for Simba.

For a first book by an author I was really impressed and cannot wait for the rest of the series, Caleb has some VERY interesting brothers, and a Russian Fire-fighter friend!!!

If I had any niggles, maybe it was because there are A LOT of ppl introduced in this book, Caleb does have a big family, but then we had his team introduced with a little intro on them too, but then this is the first book in a series, that will continue on with these characters. And in all honesty I did manage to keep track of who was who, as they were introduced at appropriate times. And I do not feel like I got a true description of the heroine's appearance other than the basics.

Editing wise, if you saw my updates as I was reading, there were some very minor issues, of wrong words used, or missed, only very minor. I was sent a re edited copy after I had read it, and checked the couple of pages that I could remember had issues, and they were still present in the edited version. However, as I say, only very minor, and in no way affected my enjoyment of the book. All in a very enjoyable, funny, engaging, solid strong first book by his author and hopefully it will continue on as the series goes on.

It was so close to a 5 stars, I really enjoyed the story loved the hero and heroine and I finished with a lovely big happy sigh. What more can you want really.

Now, I need a Nate book, the sexy grumpy, not at all talkative oldest brother!!!! Yes please!

Oh, and this book at time of posting, is only £1.05 on Amazon UK, or $1.50 on Amazon US!

I have fallen. Completely. This book was amazing. The story starts off really sweet. You get this build up. Chemistry. Great complex characters that you can totally like. Then BAM! The author turns on the sexy and hot damn I thought I was gonna melt! I think I re-read the first tease from Caleb like 3-4 times (Don't judge. It's hot af. Trust me, you will totally do the same lol). It kind of catches you off guard which is what makes it so great. Caleb is not the only one I'm in love with either. Liya is flipping hilarious. She is loving. Sweet. She's got sassy in her veins. My kind of girl. The total package. But the love doesn't end there. Nope. The author created an entire family, friends, and of course Liya's sister Annika, in such a way that you crave to know their story. Well. Mission accomplished. I'm totally hooked and craving my next hit ;) The story was very well written. The plot never allows your attention to stray. The characters are amazing. I laughed out loud several times which is very rare for me with books. The one thing that was a little frustrating was Liya's pushing Caleb SO much. I wasn't a fan but understand it was her coping mechanism. Reading this book was a great experience. So much so that this puppy is definitely going up on my favorites shelf :-p Can't wait for Nikki and Jake!!

Oh man this book was SO flipping good! This was totally me whilst reading...

description

This would have been a total 5 star read for me had it not been for a couple of things. Liya was funny, and feisty, but to be honest bugged the ever loving hell out of me with all the pushing away. I have a REALLY low tolerance lately for heroine's that push away perfect heroes, or utter (as the case was here) "Let's just be "fuck buddies". That in combination with the truly (IMO) dumb reason she was doing the whole pushing away thing, knocked it down a star!

That aside, I ADORED this book. I loved all the side characters (and there were a ton) and I hope every one of them gets a books, well maybe except Josh because I had to hear to much about his man-whore ways! *lol* It was also funny as hell, and the sexy times were SMOKING, or maybe that was me after reading them! ;)

Caleb was PERFECTION, alpha, but sweet, and he never gave up on Liya even thought I thought at times he deserved better. AND, he wasn't a man-whore! It had been months since he last had sex. The plot flowed nicely, and I never felt the need to skim.

No OW/OM drama, they didn't use condoms, but had the "are you on the pill/I'm clean talk" It's not mentioned how long it has been for Liya sex wise, but I got the feeling it had been awhile. Her past is briefly mentioned as it's a part of the reason for her pushing away.

Overall I was really impressed with this author and can't wait for Nikki and Jake's book!!

TITLE: Falling Completely
SERIES: (Starling Falls #1)
AUTHOR: Aidan Willows
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
RELEASE DATE: January 14th, 2016
MY RATING ★★★★

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Take the plunge one click this and Fall Completely in love with this book..

FALLING COMPLETELY: This is Aidan Willow's debut novel book #1 in the "Starling Falls" series. This first book in the series focuses on Caleb & Maliya. When Maliya's sister Niki informs her that she wants to move to Starling Falls to run their estranged Aunt Trudy's bakery, Maliya not wanting to be split up from her sister (her only family) decides to go with her stating that it will only be for a year.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic It was my sisters generosity, hopefulness and kindness that really made her so loveable. Where I had always been known as the snarky, sarcastic elder Abbot sister.

Then we're introduced to "Caleb Jameson" and his brothers and sisters there are six of them in total.

Nate: The oldest
Caleb: Second oldest
Jake & Josh: Are fraternal twins
Alex & Adelaide: the youngest twins

These family members make appearances throughout the book.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic None of us really understood what it felt like to be loved by a parent, until my Uncle came and collected and brought us to live with him and Aunt Debbie.

Their mother had fallen off the wagon many times with substance abuse. It didn't take her much convincing to sign her parental rights over to Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Debbie.

Maliya: Image and video hosting by TinyPic I'm going to be a miserable, reclusive old woman with a cannibalistic cat and mind controlling, demon goldfish.

Caleb and are adamant that they don't need/want to be in a relationship

Maliya: Falling in love is not for me. I don’t do relationships, they never end well.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Caleb telling his Aunt to put a stop to her meddling: Image and video hosting by TinyPic "Please no more set ups. I'm still trying to get over the last one you set me up on a date with. I grumbled
"She seemed like a perfectly nice girl!"
"She stole my keys and moved her stuff into the house after one date and then bought herself an engagement ring claiming that I was 'the one'!
No. More. Set ups.

MY THOUGHTS
The reason why I wouldn't one click this has nothing to do with the synopsis or the author but being a hardcore cover hoe I think if there was a hot guy on it more of us hoes would click it, if I don't know the author, it's not a genre I like, or the cover doesn't catch me drooling I tend to not one click..
They do say never judge a book by it's cover and this book proved that theory so right, this book exceeded all my expectations, going into this I had it in the back of my mind that I'd be reading a semi hot mills and boon book based on the cover..
I laughed, I loved, I swooned, this book had it all, the funny feisty female character, the alpha male who knew what he wanted and didn't give up until he claimed her as his..
I loved the family dynamics, the closeness, the backwards and forwards jibs between them all..
This book pretty much took me captive and didn't let me out of it's grasp until I'd finished it, for the life of me I couldn't put it down..

Overall Opinion: I'm a major minority here with my GR friends, but I just sadly didn't like this. I didn't feel their connection. I felt like the H pursuit was OTT at times, and I felt like the h's pushing away got old quick. I was also ticked off about how she finally decided to get over her hang-up . This book also did the skipping of months with just mentions of how they spent their time, and this was during that crucial developing of feelings time that I need to connect to the characters and understand their connection...hate that! It might be the main reason I didn't feel the connection...but for those that want a book that has a great large family as side characters -- here you go!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Maliya and Caleb's story. Maliya and her sister, Niki moved to the small US town to help out their great aunt with her bakery. On the day of the re-opening, Caleb saves a kid from being hit by a car right outside the bakery and gets hit instead. Maliya is a nurse, so she goes to help him. When they meet, Caleb is certain she is meant for him and starts his aggressive pursuit after he gets out of the hospital. Maliya has some past demons that hold her back, but they start a relationship and fall in love...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Maliya and Caleb's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I skimmed at the end because I was over the h pushing the H away, and I honestly just wasn't feeling it.

Instalove: Yes, at least for the H. He didn't say his "ILY", but he sure acted like she was "the one" right away. And yes, for those who know me and my reviews -- it was the annoying instalove for me.

H rating: 3 stars. Caleb. I like a possessive man that knows what he wants, but his obsession with the h was a little OTT and instant for me.

h rating: 2 stars. Maliya. I liked her sarcastic attitude at times, and other times I thought she came off as a B. I hated her reasoning for pushing the H away and how she did it for so long. I felt like shaking her...or kicking her...or throat punching her at times ;)

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Moderate. Some of the scenes kind of threw me off (especially the first heated kiss). They honestly felt unnatural to me, but it might be that I just didn't feel the connection...but then again maybe not. I've read books that I didn't feel the emotional connection but the sex was still hot. This one? I felt like they went from 0-dirty talk and fingering in public with no in-between.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: Mentions of birth control and std status. I don't remember any mention of past practices.

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Mild

Closure: This had ok closure with a jump ahead epilogue and a HFN ending.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: I'd say it's Safe for most readers

Very sexy, very funny and an amazing hero who never stopped proving his love for the heroine. I adored the humor and the family vibe.
I did get pretty irritated at the heroine several times.

I also didn't like a part of the letter that was left from the aunt. Made a good woman up to that point sound like a cheat. No matter what the circumstances you don't cheat. Simple as that.
Very good and promising start for creativity by this debut author.

Falling Completely was recommended in the KA group, I saw the blurb and 1-clicked and I am so glad I did – I absolutely loved this fun, snort out loud at times book.

This is a slow build/burn relationship driven story that just worked for me. Caleb, although a hot alpha fire-fighter, has such a sweet side to him. He feels deep, is not afraid to show his emotions and loves hard and was all in with Liya from the get go. And did he ever work to get in there, loved that. This is the second book I have read this year with the perfect hero, and Caleb sure is that.

Liya was a bit of a tough nut to crack, yet despite this you can’t help but love her. She’s a straight shooter, no filter, says what she thinks and owns it but under all that is a soft marshmallow centre with a sensitive, caring soul that she hides.

There was no ridiculous, unnecessary drama thrown in. The characters actually talked through their problems, they were honest with each other. Caleb comes from a large family so there was a lot going on with them but not once did it feel like overkill, I loved the interactions with his family, his colleagues and Liya’s cookie Aunt Trudy – that old girl was a total trip.

I spotted a few editing errors, but that didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of this little gem that left me chomping at the bit for the next book (and the one after that and then the next one after that) in the series.

5 stars for the H but 2 for the h, she was damn irritating! But I LOVED how hard the H chased and never gave up. His family were great as well even though in the beginning it was just too many characters to keep track of. I'm also glad Niki and Jake are next! Can we just skip Josh the uber manwhore? Please.

This book was not on my radar. If not for a couple of friends reviews, I wouldn't have known about this at all. Which would have been a shame. A big shame because this book has all the ingredients of a good love story thrown in the secondary characters I also adore and you'll fall completely for this one.

I wasn't expecting much when I started this but couldn't put it down after a few pages. I love the relationship between Liya and Niki plus the Jameson. I am not really good at writing reviews. I am not good at writing, period. But I am glad I took a chance on this one. I am one happy reader right now.

3.0 RATING- I think I'm in the minority on this one but I almost DNF it. This started very rocky for me but balanced out a bit towards the end. The characters were pretty one dimensional and I just didn't love it. IDK. I don't think I'd continue with the series.

What do you get when you bring two British sisters and 5 gorgeous brothers and one decidedly quirky sister together? Well for me, that equals the start of an amazing series that has already got me hooked!

What an unexpected treat that story was. Read as a KU book after the author made contact, I wasn’t sure what to expect but what I found was a truly enjoyable book.

Focussed around two sisters from London who, having lost their parents in tragic circumstances, head to the USA, specifically Staling Falls, with the intention of saving their grandaunt’s bakery after she becomes too old and frail to continue running it herself. Annika (Niki) & her older sister Maliya (Liya) have formed a close bond since the death of their parents and when Niki decides that she needs a new challenge, Liya immediately puts her dreams of becoming a doctor on hold and travels with her across the Atlantic.

It’s not long before the two sisters are settled into American life and the bakery is about to open its doors. With Niki running the bakery, Liya secures a job as a nurse at the local hospital but little does Liya expect that her nursing skills will be called upon before she even starts her first shift at the hospital.

After an unexpected incident outside of the bakery, Liya jumps into action and right to the aid of Caleb Jameson. One of six children raised by their aunt in town, Caleb, a firefighter, initially assumes the beautiful woman in front of him is an angel but he soon comes to realise that their impromptu meeting is not the end of their relationship but merely the beginning. Caleb and Liya’s attraction is felt immediately but as hard as Caleb tries to draw Liya in, she continues to resist him. Having loved and lost numerous times before, Liya believes that no-one can survive her love and affection and doesn’t want Caleb to become her next victim.

I loved the connection formed between Caleb’s family and Niki and Liya and it’s soon apparent that the next story will be about Niki and Jake. With so many interesting characters in Caleb’s family though, it’s hard to choose who your favourite is. From the secretive Nate to the loveable twins, Alex & Addie and Jake & Josh, I found that I warmed to each and every one of them immediately. I particularly enjoyed the banter between Liya and her grandaunt, Trudy.

For a new author, I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of Aidan Willows storytelling. Normally, it takes a new author a few published books for find their writing foothold but for this author, that certainly wasn’t the case as the book pulled me in right from the first page. There is still some room for writing growth, and some corrections in the text, but those are minor points when put alongside such a compelling storyline. The characters all carried their own in this book and the author teased us with just enough mystery to make you need to know more about each of them. With Niki and Jake set to be the next characters to read about, I can’t wait to see what is in store for them. Despite being sisters, Niki and Liya are complete opposites and I foresee a sweet romance developing between Jake and Niki, but I could be wrong!

If you’re looking for an enjoyable contemporary romance with a dash of sexy then this series is definite one to try. It’s uncomplicated storyline lets you enjoy it without adding too much drama into the mix; definitely a recipe for success.

Falling Completely was the first novel I read by author Aidan Willows. It will far from be the last novel of hers that I read if I can help it. Aside from being completely enamored by this author’s writing style, this book completely sucked me in. I read this back in May and it is one of those stories that has just stuck with me. In fact, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I’m not sure that I could describe this book any better than the blurb does. That is fantastically written. The characters are both engaging and memorable. One, in particular, had me in side stitches. You will get a plethora of emotions from this book from heartwarming to soul-wrenching. You may even shed a tear or two, I know I did.

The main character, Maliya in particular, will have you cracking up. She’s a firecracker and beyond enjoyable to read. I would love to mention my other favorite character in this book but I would consider that a spoiler. Read it! The interaction is hilarious.

For me, Falling completely was a five start book from beginning to end. I didn’t put it down once and fell in love not only with the writing and the characters but the town of Starlight Falls itself. I can’t wait to find out what else goes on there!

This was a quick and fluffy read. Liya was a bit headstrong and sassy, and Caleb was alpha male all the way! I loved that he didn't give up on her. I'd have let her go LOL There were some laugh out loud moments here that I nearly choked on because I was laughing so hard.

A great debut novel! I'll be looking for more from Aidan Willows.

MALIYA
Falling in love is not for me. I don’t do relationships, they never end well.
I don’t believe in fate, soul mates or happy, fairy tale endings. I’m definitely not a sweet little princess in search of her prince.
I have a plan to follow and falling in love is not part of that plan.
Nothing is going to change my mind.
Not even a domineering, gorgeous, blue-eyed firefighter who seems to be everywhere I go.

CALEB

The moment I saw her, I knew.
I knew the funny, curvy, raven haired beauty was supposed to be mine.
She may not agree with me at the moment, but I’m a patient man.
I’m not afraid to play dirty to get what I want.
And I want Maliya Abbott.

This is Aidan Willows’ debut novel and I am so impressed.

“Oh how perfect. A firefighter and a nurse. It’s like a Hallmark Movie.”

So here’s my little secret…I love my Hallmark movies; I’m a total sucker for them. This book was a little bit like a hallmark movie. It was just sweet and cute; it was great way to relax with a light and easy romance novel.
First, I love the way how Maliya (Liya) and Caleb met. It was definitely unique. What a great way to meet the love of your life! While suffering from his concussion and hallucinating, he saw Liya and knew she was it, his angel…SO SWEET! Caleb is just too cute. He’s a hot firefighter who helped raise his siblings and fights hard to win over Liya. Liya is a hard nut to crack. I didn’t understand her “no relationship” stance, but I could tell she was a big softy inside. She tried to keep her distance and break it off with Caleb. However, Caleb goes to great lengths to break her walls down. He gets everyone involved including his whole family and her family to show her how good life can be with him. And it was funny!

“Is there such a thing as mass family stalking? If so, I’m sure it must be illegal.”

I must admit I was very surprised when I learned the reason for Liya’s reluctance to be in a relationship. I thought it was going to be something trite like some asshole broke her heart, but it wasn’t. Her situation was actually very interesting and it made me understand Liya a lot more. I could definitely understand her reservations about relationships and love. Even though Liya was a hard nut to crack, I thoroughly enjoyed her character. First off, she is a nurse and I always have a special place in my heart for nurses. She tried to be hard, but it was clear she had a big heart and was very vulnerable. Together, she and Caleb were perfect for each other. I could feel their connection.

I’m happy that Caleb worked hard to win over Liya. It’s nice to see the good old-fashioned chase sometimes. I’m glad they got their happily ever after. There wasn’t any unnecessary drama and the writing was good. This book put a smile on my face and I’m excited to read the next book.

Adored this book!

Falling completely is Aidan Willows' debut novel, and she is now one in a long list of new authors I absolutely fan girl over.

This story is about two sisters Maliya (Liya) and Annika (Nikki) who move from London across the Atlantic to a small town called Starling Falls. Annika begins running their great aunt's bakery and Maliya works as a nurse in the local hospital. Her dream is to go to Oxford to become a doctor like her parents before her.

While in Starling Falls, Maliya meets Caleb.

Caleb is a firefighter who grew up with his aunt and uncle because of the rough childhood he suffered at the hands of his addict mother. Caleb comes with a bevy of brothers and a sister who all make the story a glorious read! Once Caleb meets Maliya (in a funny meet-cute) he's sure she's the one for him. The only problem is, Maliya is determined to never give her love to anyone ever again.

Willow crafts a hilarious book filled with vibrant characters who all conspire to make you fall in love right along with Maliya and Caleb. Caleb was my favorite kind of hero: strong but caring, funny and vulnerable. Who at no point planned to attempt to curb Maliya's dream of becoming a doctor. From the start he accepts Maliya exactly how she is and shows Annika an easy affection that makes him charming from start to finish. And (Joy!) Maliya was a wonderful heroine: snarky, real, human, imperfect, and willing to speak her mind.

I absolutely cannot wait for Willows' next book (Annika and Jake's story, one of Caleb's brothers). And am definitely praying she eventually gets around to writing Nate's story (Caleb's oldest brother who, because he is the oldest and got them rescued from their destructive childhood, is quiet, brooding, and mysterious as hell). I can only imagine the sort of woman who'd be good enough for all that.

Read this book and prepare to love every character from the cannibalistic cat to the great aunt who is so prickly-with-a-side-of-dry-humor you can't help but love her.

Best Lines: there were so many!!

H as an 8 year old: “We learnt early on in life that hope was a dangerous emotion. When it was given and then taken away, the loss of it was always like a punch in the gut.”

h’s sister to h: “It’s not the fresh air. It’s your face. It aggravates me and makes me want to commit violent acts against you.”

Aunt Trudy: “I never say anything about someone behind their back that I wouldn’t say to their face. People who do can’t be trusted”

Personal Review:
A fantastic love story between a strong, curvy and feisty 27yr old women and a hot, alpha-male (firefighter) who is also an amazing family guy aged 28yrs!

I cannot recommend this book enough! It was truly brilliant and this is coming from an extremely picky romance reader!!

Random Ramblings:
•Loved Niki, can’t wait for her story!
•I needed to give Caleb a hug when I read about his childhood…his older brother was also brilliant. Being an eldest sibling myself I know only too well the struggles we face when looking after our younger brothers and sisters

•Absolutely adored the Jameson family… I want an Aunt Debbie!
•It was a smoking hot read!
•Completely agreed with “Addie’s Five Official Commandments When In A Relationship”
•Aunt Trudy will always be a special woman

Overall Feeling:

3 Stars!

This is book 1 in the Starling Falls series and the author Aidan Willow's debut novel. This one is about Caleb, one of the many hot Jameson brothers in the family and Maliya who has traveled with her sister to help her get settled into Starling Falls to run their estranged family members bakery. She is only going for a year and then has to return to carry on with her career plan. She never would have thought that in this strange little place she would find someone who made her feel the way Caleb does. There is no denying the connection and sexual chemistry between these two!

This book reminded me of Until series by ARR and I have been wanting to find more series like that one. I enjoyed this book, the funny moments, the sweet ones, the sizzling chemistry and much more. I liked how there wasn't unnecessary drama, no crazy ex or just all out annoying stuff happening apart from when Maliya annoyed me near the end with something I felt was not needed. I felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't feel like it was something she had throughout the book.Maybe if some part of it was mentioned at the start or throughout the book it would have been different. I guess I wasn't expecting it so it kind of put me off. I loved how determined and focused Caleb was, he never gave up and he made me laugh.

Also the brothers are awesome! I'm intrigued as to how Nate's story will go he is just so mysterious and aloof that it makes me want more of him. I'm looking forward to more from this author and to see how she grows and how the Jameson brothers stories progress!

Ooookaaayyy... I was looking for a quick read with a swoon-worthy hero and a lovable heroine, so Falling Completely sounded promising with the hero being a firefighter and all, but I was disappointed quickly.
It started off okay, but as soon as Liya and Caleb met it went downhill. I do like insta-lust in my books and I'm not even against insta-love, but whatever it was supposed to be that went on between the two of them was downright ridiculous! My first cue that this wouldn't be for me was when Caleb called Liya "angel" when they first met, but I didn't get the hint yet. Then there was Caleb's oh-so-loving family, which was quite violent if you ask me (his sister punched his brother in the balls for stealing a piece of her bacon - really charming!). Still I had hope for this story! What REALLY annoyed me was Caleb's "protectiveness" towards Liya. I love alpha-males, but there is a thin line between alpha and macho-jerk and Caleb jumped over this line with both feet when he suggested that Liya wasn't able to change a lightbulb by herself. This was the point when this book turned from a maybe-3 to an at-most-2 star read for me. What finished off the story for me was the drama towards the end. You would have thought Liya was 7 years old, not 27.
There were many more things in this book that didn't work for me, but I'll leave it at this here. Others loved it - I didn't.

Aidan Willows is a name you are going to HAVE TO remember from now on. If you love Bella Andre, Kristen Proby, Melanie Shawn, and you need a new fix of a family series, I assure you you will not be disappointed. Liya and Niki are 2 English girls that move across the pond to take care of their only living relatives business when her health makes it impossible for her. One thing I loved about this book is that all the women had character and spunk in their own way. Niki is a badass pastry chef who is also shy and reserved, unless you give her alcohol, then she starts speaking like yoda. Liya and I are kindred spirits. She lives for herself, she's supremely ambitious and absolutely fearless. Just like Caleb. A firefighter that had a rough start in life, Caleb is defined as the glue of his family and he goes out to great lengths to assist those that need it. He is loyal to a T, and brave all the same. When Liya refuses his advances for something serious, Caleb has to get creative, and I seriously got a 6 pack from laughing. OK, Im just kidding, by the end of the book I was pounding so much wine and chocolate that I lost them right back. I am absolutely in love with his book, almost completely obsessed with this author and I cannot wait to read the next one. I want more, and I want it now, and I want it from Aidan. I think I may have a problem, oh but what a way to go!! You guys have to check it out!

I received a copy of Falling Completely (Starling Falls #1) by Aidan Willows in exchange for an honest review.
I adored Falling Completely and have now found a special place in my heart for Aidan Willows. I Loved the heroine in this book. She was funny, as he was little Grouchy, strong and vulnerable at the same time. She was everything you could possibly ask for in a leading lady.

The hero was Hot as hell. He was all in, he knew he wanted Maliya and nothing could stop him. Also he had an awesome family! My favourite moments in the book were with his family. And the cat.
There was romance and humour without the cliches of an ordinary contemporary romance. Caleb watching the Lion King will stick with me for a very long time.

I cannot wait for more books by Aidan Willows as I am now completely hooked with her writing and her wonderful characters. Do yourself a big favour and purchase this book today!!

I was pulled right into this story. Take one believer and one non-believer and you get a great fall!

This is Maliya and Caleb’s story. Maliya moved with her sister when her sister moved across the ocean to take over a bakery. She was going to stay only a year. What happens when one determined man blasts into her life and makes her feel things she never thought she wanted? Her future was all planned out but what now? Can she risk her heart for something she never believed in? When you heart and mind are at war which one is going to win the battle? Can she have Caleb and all her other dreams too? Or will she have to give up all her dreams in order to have Caleb? Just how far is Caleb willing to go to get Maliya to believe? Will he get everyone he can involve in the action so he can tear down her walls one by one?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.
