Author's suggested reading order of all series: #1 Chosen by the Vampire Kings #2 Stolen by the Alpha Wolf #3 Unlikely Mates #4 Awakened by the Vampire Prince #5 Mated to the Vampire Kings #6 Wolf Whisperer (standalone novella)
After one glorious night, Rushe considers the human doctor to be his. His. Damn. It. Unfortunately, he must bide his time before being permitted to pursue Becky.
Ross, on the other hand, wastes no time in going after what he wants, namely, one lush human. The scent of another male on her skin only incites him further to eradicate the shifter from her mind, by whatever means necessary. Take what is mine…
Becky knows that Rushe has his heart set on finding a mate. Since she made it crystal clear that it won’t be her, she’s sure he’s moved on. On the rebound, even though she won’t admit it to herself, it leaves her free to explore her deepest, darkest vampire fantasies. Only, it’s not quite as freaking simple as she thought it would be…
Be warned, this story contains strong sexual themes/language and is not intended for readers under the age of 18. (There are scenes of mfm ménage)
It is highly recommended that you start with Chosen by the Vampire Kings first for the most enjoyment.

SERIOUSLY SEXY AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: Unlikely Mates Bundle Series: The Chosen Series Designation: Complete Three Book Compilation, Standalone, NO Cliffhanger Author: Charlene Hartnady My Rating: FIVE SUPER SEXY STARS***** WOWZA! OMG! I absolutely loved this story! Unlikely Mates is a sub-series and third release in The Chosen Series by USA best-selling author Charlene Hartnady and was originally published in three separate installments, His First, His Last and Their Everything which is how I initially read it. Charlene has now released the complete Unlikely Mates Bundle which is a convenient and affordable compilation of all three books. I was elated when Charlene announced the release of Unlikely Mates which is Dr Becky's story. And just why was I so excited you ask? Well, I'd been waiting for Becky to have her own series since she was first introduced as Tanya's over-sexed best friend in Charlene's debut hit series, Chosen by the Vampire Kings and please believe me when I say, it was well worth the wait! Charlene totally knocked it out of the park - again! Yes, Charlene has amazing talent. Yes, she has an astounding imagination. And yes she has incredible skill but it's her unique ability to draw her reader into the story and make the fantasy come to life as we become immersed in the worlds and characters she creates for us. And the characters - what can I say! They capture not only your imagination but your heart as well. It's rather hard to explain but I'll give it a try. In some books, it's obvious that all the characters are created by the same person, the individual writing the story, but with Charlene's characters, they take on a life of their on, as if they were created by totally different people. They live, breath and have their own distinct mannerisms and personalities. It is so exhilarating, engaging and refreshing. You never know what to expect from her characters and that's what makes her writing so remarkably entertaining and satisfying. To sum it up, always expect the unexpected because Charlene never fails to deliver quite a few surprises. Is it obvious that I'm completely captivated by Charlene's writing and totally enamored with this series? Most assuredly! This story is exciting, original, imaginative, well developed, thrilling, riveting, enchanting, cute, humorous, romantic, arousing, sensual and always lots of action, in and out of the sheets. Just a little humor, folks! The dialogue is smart, sassy, intelligent, inventive, very well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, intriguing, endearing, engaging, sexy as sin and at times, down right hilarious. I was laughing so hard, I frightened my Shih Tzu, Christina! She must have thought I was having a seizure! Charlene skillfully combines these elements into an exquisite paranormal tale full of romance, humor, suspense, adventure and fantasy. Dr Becky was able to successfully deliver Stephany and Ward's twin pups, and yes I said twin pups, at the end of Stolen by the Alpha Wolf Series which was nothing short of a miracle since Stephany is a vampire and was told she could never birth a child and only further complicated by the fact that her mate,Ward, is not a vampire - he's a wolf and not just any wolf but the alpha wolf! What? Well, just a little of the back story but that's all covered in Charlene's second hit series, Stolen by the Alpha Wolf. Dr Becky was so disappointed - no she was hurt. Nope, that doesn't describe it either. She was down right furious at the way the vampires behaved toward Stephany, Ward and his men during the delivery, and in her office no less. She was through with them. No vampires for her - not any more. (Hmm....No??? Maybe yes???) She has now decided that she wants to have sex with a shifter, mainly one wolf shifter named Rushe and he is the cat's meow or should I say the wolf's howl. Yep, he has it all! Now, if she can just get him to show her that eight pack he carries under his shirt, everything will be perfect! Dr Becky agrees to travel to Ward's camp for a short stay to look after Stephany and the tiny twin pups for a few days, and if she plays her cards right, she may be able to persuade Rushe to have a one time hookup with her. Heck, she'd only been with one guy since her divorce and that was as much a disaster as her marriage. Nope, no more relationships for her. She would concentrate on just her career. She didn't have time for any man - be it human, sexy shifter nor handsome vampire. She just needed an orgasm not a mate! Old 'Black Magic' could handle her sexual needs! Huh? But apparently her brain forgot to send that memo to her heart! And Mr-Hotter-Than-Hot, wolf-shifter Rushe is certainly not making it easy for her. And Mr-Sexalicious-Vampire Ross is making an already confusing situation even more difficult 'cause when Ross comes a calling, Becky starts a fallin' - for both hunkie hotties. What? And neither intend to make things simple for the sexy, saucy Dr Becky! The beautiful little female healer with her curly, golden-blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes, luscious curves and mouth watering 'mammary glands' is drop dead gorgeous sex on a stick and they both want a lick. Just one look could bring any man to his knees and therein lies the problem. Becky is so bewitching that all the shifters in Rushe's camp and all the male vampires in Ross' coven can't help but look at her, be enthralled with her every little move, intoxicated by her luscious smell and they all want her! Oh my! It looks as if they may have to fight every man in camp and coven just to make them keep their paws off her! Rushe and his wolf are in complete agreement - she belongs to him, she is his mate! But Ross disagrees - Becky belongs only to him, she is his mate! What the heck! There are only a few teensy, tiny problems. First, Rushe's Alpha has forbidden him to even touch her until she leaves their camp and he becomes eligible for a mate according to their camp-wide list of seniority and second, he must convince Becky that she does want a relationship with him. She belongs to him - she is his mate! And of course, let's not forget, according to the ruling Vampire Kings, Zane and Brant, all vampires and shifters alike are forbidden to mate with humans, them being the only exception, so Rushe is legally forbidden from taking Becky as a mate. What the heck? What Hypocrites! Oh, and there's one other teensy tiny, GINORMOUS problem! Ross is King Zane's lieutenant but he has decided that Becky should belong to him since he saw her first and he's willing to leave his coven to have her!!! What? He intends to wipe that wolf's scent right off her luscious body! She may not know it yet - but she will be his! What's a wolf and a vampire to do? Hmmm.......... Why make a bet between themselves, of course, to see who can win her heart first! Will Ross and Rushe fight each other to claim the lovely Becky? Will they defy the Alpha and the Kings, fight them all and claim their mate????? Will Becky be able to make her choice between the two hotties or....... can she have her cake and eat it too??? Can she do that??? Of course not! Everyone knows that vampires and wolves are mortal enemies! Aren't they??? Hmmm..... I wonder??? We'll just have to wait and see! Buckle up my lovelies! It's another super sexy ride! Beautiful human doctor-check! Sexy dominant wolf-check! Handsome jealous vampire-check! Wonderful cast of characters-check! Drama, danger, action, jealousy and suspense-check! Romance, fiery passion, a dash of angst, a boatload of humor and hijinks, and a huge helping of steamy sex- you betcha! And, the icing on the cake - we get to see many of our favorite and beloved characters from the first and second series! That and a whole lot more! I can hardly wait to see what will pop out of Charlene's brilliant little brain next! Although it's not necessary, I would highly recommend reading Charlene's Chosen by the Vampire Kings and Stolen by the Alpha Wolf to enrich your reading experience. This is a book you don't want to miss! You'll want to read it again and again! Deliciously cute, completely captivating, hilariously humorous, seriously sexy, delightfully wicked and wonderfully entertaining!
Listen, there is a time and a place for getting lost in the idea of being the stuffing between a werewolf and vampire sandwich. It was yesterday, in the wee hours of the morning. I struggle with stories such as these, something will happen and I suddenly can't turn off my analytical mind. How critical can I really be here? I'm debating on if I should delve into the crisis that is m/f/m DP mechanics. Is that something I even need to be discussing? I don't know... yet here we are.
Perhaps some things are better glossed over, purposely discarded in the name of fun. Perhaps. See you on the next round, Hartnady. We in this for the long haul, girl.
Unlikely Mates (The Chosen Series) I am ADDICTED to this series; I can get enough of this paranormal romantic goodness. With alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Ménage à trois, MFM love triangles (eat your heart out), Vampires, Shifters, and Elves. It is Sexy, it is Sizzling, it is smoking Hot, it is Erotic so much so that it jumps right off the pages and leaves you needing a cold shower. Sassy, headstrong females, and fighting to the death is not uncommon. So, what happens when smoking hot vampires and shifters, mortal enemies want the same thing; this is where things get so interesting, and the fun begins. These men are ruthless, they are vicious, power players, they are violent. There is lots of action, danger and war around every corner but given all that they love fast, they love with their whole heart and make you want to go and find your own. Charlene has woven a captivating, tangled web of lies, deceit, suspense, drama and love that will leave you breathless. The characters are to die for, and each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because it makes them more real. It is not all doom and gloom though there are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud especially Zane and Becky, they crack me up. Don’t even stop to think just click and read and tell me I am not wrong. Happy reading!

I didn’t like Becky. She is so un-selfaware and totally screwed over both men for so long (and I don’t mean that tongue in cheek!). I was continually irritated by her.
Also, my perennial complaint about this author: grammar and language. The author often uses a word that is similar but definitely not correct. I wish I had highlighted a couple to use as examples, but I didn’t.
And yet, despite all my annoyances, as soon as I finished this book I downloaded the next, so they are sort of cracktastic.
From the moment she was introduced, I didn't like Becky. Now that she got her own book, I like her even less. She has two hot guys after her big reveal is that she's scared to make a commitment because she doesn't want to get hurt? As in, "Breaking up is just so hard on me. I just can't live through that again." Hahaha! Oh, puhlease! Becky should have been relegated to the backburner and should have been a side story for another book and lesser characters. I will continue with the series, but I had to force myself to finish this one. Just have zero empathy for Becky!
Ok, so I really like Ross and Rushe and their camaraderie. Becky did get annoying because she didn't know herself and didn't really have much courage to face herself. The best part of this book was Ross and Rushe's relationship. Becky was just happenstance to me.
The story was kinda all over the place and I liked it. What I liked most was that we still get a peak at the characters from the previous stories. I’m looking forward to the book in the series.
Becky, just like Tanya, is not something I want to read about. Damn dumb, almost like teenager dumb behavior, make no sense and just yuck. Sex driven trash. No character, no intelligent conversations.. just yuck. The only book so far that was really good was Stolen by the Alpha Wolf. So I hoped this one would be good too, after all she is a doctor for heaven sake and one wolf character you meet in Stolen by the Alpha Wolf , you hope he finds his love with her. Next you fid out she is as dumb as Tanya, no substance beside being horny all the time. What you get is a nothing burger , all nonsense. And the Wolf shifter and a Vampire both mates to this stupid woman. Give me a break. All that was missing was " and now they live on Mars happy ever after " I already avoid the 2 Vampire king stories for I can not stand Tanya. So this book was just yuck, too.

So, this was a bit of a weird one, in that I loved Ross and Rushe. They're fierce warriors, yet also sweet, fun, charming, kind, sexy, honorable.. I loved watching their growing friendship, bromance almost. Yet I could never bring myself to like Becky, in fact by the end I pretty much just hated her. She's supposed to be a doctor, a scientist so you'd expect some intelligence, common sense... but really she's just one major case of TSTL with serious emotional immaturity issues, which never actually get resolved or dealt with within this story.
Ok. I tried to ignore it, but by the third book, it’s really starting to get on my nerves. This author comes off as very immature and a little too liberal leaning for my taste. Her characters (especially the females) are childish and not very likable and so is the writing.
Another pet peeve, the inconsistencies. Where are the proof readers? From the first book to this one, there have been a few on them. One minute her eyes are hazel, the next, they’re chocolate brown. Another is a blonde, then later on the same page, she’s a brunette. Etc.
I still really dislike the kings. Total dirt bags! I'm not sure how Did he and Ross end up at the castle and how she becomes the Dr. But I really !over this story. We get to see how all 3 relationships develop. How they work together. Love. Love. Love these guys and how Did he stood up for Ross. Even during the fights.
First of I can not stand brant and Zane anymore. They are both horrible horrible "people." I loved the friendship between rushe and Ross. It made the story so much more enjoyable than the first book. Becky was a little too stubborn for my taste but I still loved her
I would lose the plot for this and just make it smut. Cause that’s what it was. Nothing wrong with that, but sometimes I felt like the it just got in the way and bored me.. 😬
First, those looking for His First it's not available to buy on Amazon anymore. Yet parts 2 and 3 still are. I ended up having to buy the whole thing for $4 and I just dunno, I mean it's almost 300 pages but not quite.
Ok moving on, the series as a whole book was good, a decent story with some smut thrown in, a great mix. Except I was disappointed in this book a bit. First with Becky only wanting to do no strings attached sex, she makes it sound like she doesn't want a relationship then turns around and basically calls herself a slut for sleeping with 2 different guys in the span of a couple days. Ok if you're going to do the whole sex and no relationship thing, OWN IT. Don't get all self righteous and say it's "not right" for someone to have sex with multiple partners and that makes them a slut. It's unacceptable, if a woman wants to she has the right to do that so long as all parties are informed and adult, that doesn't make the woman a slut. So sick of slut shaming.
Then we have the vampire kings. There were about more than a dozen times I wanted to smack Zane and Brant for how they were acting. They think that they are the only ones who can find love because of their lores *insert eye roll here*. We know, having seen Stephany's story that this isn't the case, and it seems like they brushed it aside since in Stephany's story and yet this doesnt convince the kings to let others share the love. Its utter idiocy and the way they treated everyone annoys the shit out of me. In fact this is part of the reason why the rating is just a 3 stars. As kings they need to take into consideration what if what Ross or Rushe was saying were true? Did they investigate it? Nope they just put their noses in the air and said SORRY Only royalty can ensure that the human can survive a mating with a vampire. I get it they are scared but again as kings they need to look into this sort of thing.
UGH UGH UGH.
Then Becky who clearly has feelings for them ignoring that because she's had relationships where she's ended them and the man/male will get hurt because she falls out of love so easily. It was a flimsy response and excuse and I was very disappointed this was the direction the author chose to take it in. It isn't until 95% in the book that Becky finally admits her feelings. 95%! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Couldn't we have had it in 80% and seen what their new life together would look like, see them as a couple? See how the Vampire Kings took it once she showed signs of becoming stronger. Also there was a hint at Becky wanting blood, but was quickly forgotten WHY did she have that sensation/craving? WHY? Was she pregnant? No probably not, ok then was it because she wanted to mate them? I mean what was the reason for pointing it out and drawing attention to it to us? It was weird.
Anyways I was disappointed in this one because of how ridiculous everything was. However I am still going to continue with the series as I do want to know what happens with the Elf Princess and Xavier.
Becky is the funny friend of Tanya, the Queen of the vampires. She is a doctor and a very good one at that. She has a clear way of saying what she thinks and she really wants sex with a paranormal being. The door is open when she must stay with the shifters to help Stephany with her newborn babies. Rush, the wolf shifter, is the man for the job. But he wants a mate, a family, and she is not ready for that. Back to her hometown Ross, the hot vampire, smells the shifter on the doctor and shows her how better vampires can be in bed, at least he thinks so. Becky is between a rock and a hard place because both paranormals want her and she is not ready nor she can decide between the two of them. The book is full of hotness, funny dialogues and serious questioning about parenting and responsibility. Becky finds herself lacking in the probable parent department and it is a problem. Both of her lovers want a family. The difficult decision between them is not what bothers her. Becky can't see herself as a mother and she knows how serious the preservation of their species is for Rush and Ross. A very good story. Charlene created and develops a whole new world of possibilities. It is amazing how she can put her reader to think in a funny hot way.
Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book three of seven of The Chosen series.
After one glorious night, Rushe considers the human doctor to be his. Unfortunately, he must bide his time before being permitted to pursue Becky. Ross, on the other hand, wastes no time in going after what he wants, namely, one times lush human. The scent of another male on her skin only incites him further to eradicate the shifter from her mind, by whatever means necessary.

On the rebound, even though she won’t admit it to herself, it leaves her free to explore her deepest, darkest vampire fantasies. Only, it’s not quite as freaking simple as she thought it would be. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.
Unlikely Mates: The Chosen Series book 3 By Charlene Hartnady Kindle unlimited purchase MFM at it's best. Book 1 of this series )Chosen by the Vampire Kings) and this book is both MFM and normally I move toward MF books. But when I read an MFM and enjoy it as much as I have these 2 books I want to yell it from the roof. There was romance in these books. It showed how 2 men can work together with their differences and put all the BS aside for the woman they love, and Rushe and Ross do just that. Becky is afraid to love. For whatever reason, she falls in and out of love so fast she has whiplash. But when she is faced with 2males standing in front of her declaring their love she is confused with what to do. She says she doesn't want to hurt them. But they won't stop. I recommend this book (series) for readers 18 years and over. It's just to hot for you sorry. ;) book 4 here I come!
Rushe (wolf, shifter), Becky (human doctor), & Ross (vampire).
In book three, we finally get spunky Becky's story. BFF to Tanya (book 1). The doctor daughter to two surgeons, she has disappointed her parent's aspirations for her.
We finally have our first heroine who scorns the idea of marriage and children. Especially the children part. I suspect that will change as the entire premise of the series is for the paranormal males to find mates and breed.
Still, this was a refreshing change from the constant male/male hatred we see in the other books. These two more or less get along and plan to let the best man win in a wooing contest of sorts. Of course, their leaders have other plans, and things get messy before they resolve in a happily ever after because sexy Becky needs two men to satisfy her needs.
Holy hotness! .... Ross and Rushe ♡♡♡ I didnt mind Becky at all. I thought I wasnt going to like her one bit but I came around. Also speaking of that I hated Brant up until Tanya's explanation of him. My God Charlene knows how to write a sexy book! So all is good for me. 5 stars.
I would dock it 2 or 3 stars for the terrible editing because it's really bad. REALLY BAD but even with that I still enjoyed the books. I was hoping she Charlene would get better at editing her books but apparently not... at least not in the books I have read... hopefully she gets better.... mammary glands....still cracks me up that she uses that description 😂
STILL though I really enjoy her books. I would recommend.
This was a very amusing story of the most impossible matching of individuals: Ross the Vampire, Rushe, the Wolf shifter, and Becky, a human female. As impossible as this grouping sounded at the beginning of this story, it began to make more and more sense as the story progressed. I enjoyed the lighthearted humor as these characters interacted with each other. Becky's outspoken no-nonsense attitude always cut through the bull and got to the heart the matter in every situation. I really admired her fierce determination and pit bull courage. She was an amazing specimen in a compact package and perfect compliment to her two admirers. Really good story! Enjoyed it! Plenty of sizzle to go around!
But the author appears to severely hate her original main characters. each book in the series gets progressively worse on how she portrays them. Brant is a complete cold-blooded a$$, Zane went weak, Tanya no back bone to weigh in to the politics or her boys’ bad behavior. The new characters are turning more and more into “me, Tarzan, you Jane” types where they just talk about “rutting” non-stop and how the “females” are theirs. (Seriously someone should count how many times “rut” or “rutting” is used…). Going to leave this series now before it gets worse.
I loved this one! Tanya & Becky's conversations crack me up. They seriously sound like two BBF's. I found myself laughing so hard at times. So great humor in this one. Now for her males...,shew. This one gets good. Hot, Hot, Hot! I loved all these characters and the storyline in this one I believe is my favorite so far. Dang. This series just keeps getting better and better. Highly recommended and definitely and Adult 18+ read. It was perfect :)
It was a different story then what i was use to. I'm use to the males fighting each other for the female. These two males were different in the fact that one saved the others life. They tried to but ended up fighting together to win and keep the h. Becky is funny. She's confused by how she feels but yet knows what she wants.(while it's happening) It can be read as a stand alone but, all the books tie together. If you skip one, you miss the beginning of the next. HEA. Heat factor-10. Fun and funny May have some triggers.
To quote our audacious Dr. Becky, "Holy macafreakingroni!" How lucky is Becky to have not one, but two non-human males vying to become her mate. Two ultra alpha, hot and sexy guys competing to win her heart and mind and soul. But will age old prejudices between the shifters and the vampires keep them apart? This series keeps getting better and better. I am so hooked, I think I have an addiction. One I aim to keep feeding! 😀
This series is absolutely addictive and you can't put the kindle down. I love the Vampire clan even though they piss me off especially Brant. Zane is acceptable as is Ross who I quite enjoy his boldness and caring ways. Now Rushe is sweet and tender Nd a bit innocent but sexy and they prove they are both perfect for Becky the Doctor. I'm so hooked on this series. Just love it
