This official, comprehensive, authoritative guide to the Halo universe, written in collaboration with 343 Industries, the developers of the “Halo” franchise, marks the first time that a book incorporates the entirety of the “Halo” canon, including the games, books, comics, live-action and animated entertainment, and more.
The book also includes over 50 specially commissioned full-color paintings showcasing vehicles, artificial intelligence, weapons, ships, and never-before-seen aspects of Halo environments. The amazing illustrations come from a variety of renowned illustrators, including Jean-Sébastien Rossbach, Leonid Kozienko, Benjamin Carré, Isaac Hannaford, and 343's internal art team, too.
For the first time ever, the timeline of the Halo universe is available in one place, charting humanity's battles against alien forces of the Covenant, Forerunners, and the Flood--making this book an absolute must-have for Halo fans.
We’re more than a studio, we’re a family of talented developers who are committed to making awesome experiences for our fans. To achieve that, it certainly takes a diverse team, which is why we’re home to everything from artists, engineers, designers, administrators, and inventors – but more than that, these same people are parents, pilots, painters – they’re activists, cyclists and collectors – their personal and domestic passions are as much a part of what makes this studio tick, as any detail on a resume. So those passions are woven into our social tapestry too, in our softball team, in our cook-offs, in our board game marathons, in our hiking and biking adventures -- and much, much more.
Fun, but a victim of the fact that the books are marketing material for the games, and the plot of the games seems to have jumped and increasingly large series of sharks once Bungie was out of the picture.
That said, not really a story so much as background to make sure I’m not missing context when reading some of the more obscure novels, so I wasn’t expecting high art anyways. Just sort of a good way to spend a long afternoon not using too much brainpower.
Halo was my favorite video game when I was just a wee lass, and when I got an Xbox One last year it was the one game (series) that I bought for it. Nostalgia mixed with just plain ole enjoyment, because I still love this crap - I loved reading more in depth about everything in the Halo universe. I can't wait to see what they add to the series.
I know nothing about Halo, but I did watch one of the movies and thought that it was interesting. So when I saw this book I thought that it would be a perfect over view of the whole story, it was awesome. The pictures are amazing and the back ground is pretty complete. I am saying this as someone not familiar with the Halo story at all. It may be different for someone who reads the books or plays the games.
Great compilation of the Halo Universe through Halo 5. Lots of information but presented as a neat summary to aid in understanding the overall picture. If interested in more about the Halo Universe and not wanting to read every book and play all the games, this is a good place to begin.
Fantastic summary of main Halo storylines and history through about 2016, or after Halo 5. Enjoyed the brief synopsis on major storylines (video games, books, graphic novels combined) which helped me get back up to speed on the plot. A good reference if ever needed. Art is spectacular as well.
Not technically done, but it suits my needs of what I need, which is remember what book, game, or part of HALOpedia I need to look in to find what I'm looking for.
Simple overview of the Halo story which is perfect for people not familiar with the story. Missing a lot of in depth details so not the most comprehensive guide. The illustrations are awesome though.
Excellent overview of the entire Halo story, covers all the books and games while remaining high level enough to follow the important beats. Great illustrations as well. Recommended for Halo fans.
I loved this amazing Book, it is a great in-site to the History of Halo from The Forerunner Legacy 10,000,000 BCE (Before Common Era) all the way to Return of the Prometheus 2558 CE (Common Era) this everything Halo in Timeline Order until present day (Halo Wars 2). This great book as some amazing Art Work and information exclusive to only this book. Recommend to any Halo Fan, New or Current.
This book was a fun read and not only that but the art work was great to look at too, I gave this a 4 and not a five for small reasons and I also took awhile to read this. Nonetheless the book was fun. I wanted to know more about halo lore and this was an easy way to do so.
